Stanford Pines was finding that his plans were not working the way he wanted them to. Sure they worked out (eventually) but not the way he wanted to.

His portal worked like the Journals said and he got his brother back. But he didn't think Dipper would hold a grudge like this. He was glad the Blindeye were gone but he didn't think it would become an advantage for Gideon. And now here he was, in the back of a truck with an alternate version of Wendy.

This week was shaping up to be a nightmare for him. He thought back to the moment he activated the portal.

The entire world froze. No sound came from the machinery. All of the color in the world was drained as a golden figure appeared in front of him.

Stan had quickly opened Journal One for some way to banish the demon.

"Stanford, come on relax." The maniac cackled. "What do you think I'm here for? You won't make a deal so I can't stop you."

"Then get out of here you isosceles jerk!" Stan threw a pit soda can.

Bill grabbed the can and opened it. "Hey thanks buddy!" He clapped his hands together and the can imploded spraying the contents all over the floor. "But seriously, let's talk. I can't stop you from using your little machine so I'll just leave you a warning. An image of a Pine Tree and a Shooting Star appeared next to the demon. "By bringing back your brother you'll break the order of events. And I can't guarantee the safety of a certain pair of Pines."

"You leave my niece and nephew out of this!"

The triangle waved the comment off. "I'm not talking about your niece or nephew, besides they're getting themselves involved. What I'm saying is that things will change. I hope... what am I saying, I know you're sure of what you'll do."

The two images disappeared and he quickly got extremely cheery. "Welp. Good luck! Tell Gideon I said hi!" He disappeared in a quick flash of light.

Stan stood there for a few seconds wondering what the warning was about. It didn't matter. Bill was notorious for lying, he wasn't falling for that trap again. Stan didn't hesitate when he pressed the button and the portal flared up.

The portal gave off a bright blue light. A blast of energy flew out. The window in front of Stan exploded. The computer readout was flashing in red letters:

Target located! Warning: Energy buildup critical. Are you sure you wish to continue? Y/N

Stan never slammed a key harder in his life. The portal glowed brighter and another blast erupted from it. The blast tore through time and space opening a door that had been long lost and sealed.

The blast opened the way for Stanfords brother but the blast also opened another door. Just a fraction of the way open. Big enough for a quick trip of two people. Normally there wouldn't be enough time for one to easily travel through it. But If one were to fall at the right speed and if something catalysed the event the door could be shoved open long enough...

For chaos to spread.

"How's your nose Durland?"

"Ah, it's much better. Thanks Bulbs."

I quickly got out of the chair and hid behind the door as it opened.

The two guards walked into the room where. "Hey! Where did the girl go?"

"Witch!" The second yelled. "Witch! I knew this would happen!"

That shouldn't have worked as well as it did... Oh well.

"Durland, calm down! You'll hurt your nose even more."

I snuck up behind the first officer and grabbed his pair of keys.

He turned around. "Hey! What are you doing!"

I ran out the door. "Sorry officers, but it's for the greater good!" I slammed the door shut.

I bolted for the hallway where they took Dipper. As I ran I uncuffed myself. At the junction where we were seperated I looked down both hallways. I dashed the rest of the way. I kept going until I heard an all too familar voice.

"Where's the Anchor! Quit lying to me boy! I swear I will destroy this entire town!"

I knocked on the door and with my excellent powers of voice mimicking I said in a deep voice. "Uh, this is officer Pineapple! We have a situation."

"What?" I heard footsteps toward the door. "I thought I said no interruptions!"

The door opened and when Gideon saw me his face devolved into surprise and excitement. All he could see however was my fist in his face.

The sharply dressed jerk fell to the ground moaning from the blow. "And that's what happens when you mess with the Pines!"

"Mabel!" Dipper's face lit up as I uncuffed him. "That was amazing!"

"Don't thank me yet bro." I grabbed his hand. "We gotta get out of here."

Gideon rolled onto his side and saw us closing the door. "Wait! NO!"

I didn't want to hear what else he had to say. It wouldn't be long before they noticed two escaped prisoners. We were on the run. Fighting the power! Down with the Tyrants! Sorry, got carried away there...

But we didn't have any plan for getting out of there but luckily we had a few friends to take care of that for us.

We were just outside of the prison. I felt my heart beating harder than the rain that was hammering on the town.

We all knew the plan. It was going to be risky and it might not work. But all we had to do was find Dipper and Mabel and hope the Anchor was charged enough to get us out of here. When I asked what the rest of them would do they told me not to worry. They got out of much worse.

I heard the doors to the truck open and we removed the tarp from the truck. I got out out and saw myself standing in front of the older me.

We hadn't talked much in the excitement that was caused by the haste in our plan.

"So you're me huh?"

"Yeah, just younger..."

The older me smiled she seemed to be swept away in a downpour of memories.

"Everything good with you?" She asked.

"Yeah... and you?"

"Working on it."

We stared at each other. We didn't need to experience the Shooting Star effect to know each other. I imagined the Enlightened Twins looking at this and making some remark about constants and variables.

"Are we going to do this or what?" Stan asked the group.

"Alright Strategist. We're ready." Stanley patted his back.

"Hard Work, keep the truck ready." Stan told Soos.

"I'm on it Mr. P- I mean Strategist."

"And Strength, both of you, come in right after us. Find the kids and leave. We'll be right behind you."

"Don't get hurt." I warned.

Stan looked at me then at the older Wendy. "Keep an eye on yourself."

The two older twins ran to the main entrance to the prison. Several guards noticed them and told them to stop. Instead they ran forward and Stan threw down and bomb. It exploded in a flash of light and smoke and both twins were gone. The police were searching everywhere but couldn't see any trace of them.

Those of us at the truck watched as the door to the prison was quietly closed to avoid attention.

"Now!" Both of us ran toward the building. She was faster than me but I was able to stay pretty close to her.

All of the guards were in an uproar. Many were distracted by the smoke bomb Stan had thrown. One guard did notice us and he ran after us.

He tried to tackle me but I quickly stepped to the side and he fell to the ground. We continued onward. The older me reached the door and pulled it open. I ran in and she quickly followed.

When the doors closed we heard someone's voice on the intercom. "All units we have a security breach. Lockdown the prison!"

"We need to find them now." We ran down the main hallway. We didn't care that several police officers began to gave chase to us.

The Anchor began to glow an orange color. "The Anchor's almost ready!"

The security were catching up to us. Until Stanley came out of nowhere and threw down a smoke bomb. "Keep going kids!" He shouted.

We turned a corner and saw Dipper and Mabel running ahead of us.

"Dipper! Mabel!" We both shouted.

They both turned their heads and smiled as they saw us running to them.

"You got help!" Dipper remarked.

"Big help!" Mabel added. "What's with the alarms?"

"Stan and Stanley are distracting the rest of the prison." I informed.

"Stanley?" Dipper frowned.

"Who cares?" Mabel pulled Dipper's hand. "We're getting out of here!"

We burst through a door that we thought lead outside. We were then met by an ambush.

Gideon burst out of the door behind us. "Clever trick Pines. But you've underestimated the powers I wield. And after I have that Anchor right there the Universe will bow before me!"

"Ha!" Mabel pointed her finger at Gideon. "Sucks for you because we don't have it!"

An orange glow came from my pocket.

Dipper panicked. "Wendy... please tell me that isn't the Anchor in your pocket."

"No, no it isn't." No one was buying it.

"Arrest them!" Gideon ordered.

Deep in the woods three young children searched for an old friend. It had been a while since they had been this deep in the woods. Not since the fire. Dipper still had nightmares about it. But with Mabel here he wasn't as fazed. She was the reason they were both still alive.

Meanwhile Pacifica was trailing behind them. She changed out of her dress and borrowed one of Mabel's sweaters. She was wearing her llama sweater.

"You know Pacifica, Stan had a point." Mabel began. "You had it all back at your mansion and now you're out here in the middle of the woods with us. Why?"

"Well, after I learned about what my family did it got really stuck in my head. And my parents and their stupid bell weren't going to change so I thought, why shouldn't I?"

"So you're not going back?" Mabel asked.

"I don't know." She replied. "I guess we'll see."

"Welcome to the team Paz." Mabel smiled.

"Don't call me that."

"Too late." Dipper noted. "She's going to keep doing it especially if you tell her not to."

"Terrific." She looked around nervously. "So where are we going again?"

"To get help from a friend I made earlier in the summer."

"Really? I never met him." Mabel questioned.

"I don't tell you everything." Dipper never did actually mention what happened the day he met his friend. But Dippe knew he was still here.

"Multibear!" He shouted. "It's me Dipper! We need your help!"

A large dark figure moved in the shadows. Pacifica and Mabel backed up as a large bear rose up.

They then noticed the several heads and arms on the bear. One head spotted the group and let out a large roar.

Everyone, even Dipper, backed up at the sight. But then one of the paws smacked the head that was roaring. "Are you going to be like that with every guest that comes here? Ah, Dipper, it is good to see a friendly face. Heard any new songs recently?"

"You know what?" Mabel said. "You don't need to explain this to me."

"No, I've come to get your help." Dipper explained. "A friend of ours is in a lot of danger and they're going to need all of the help we can give them."

"Ah, this has to deal with the Gideon kid doesn't it. I too have fallen from his lies. I refused to help him when he convinced all other creatures of the wood to aid him in his quest for dominance. I know the danger you are in. Climb aboard!"

Dipper got on top of the bear. Mabel quickly followed. Pacifica was a little hesitant.

"Come on Paz." Mabel held out her hand. "Get on the giant bear."

Pacifica took her hand and pulled herself up. "Dipper are you sure this is safe?"

"Trust me." Dipper nodded. "This guy is a friend!" The bear took off into the woods at a breakneck speed.

"Where are we going to?" The main head asked.

"Gravity Falls prison!" Mabel shouted. "And step on it you magnificent creature!"

Things weren't doing too well for us. Gideon knew where the Anchor was and he knew how to use it.

His laugh was still annoying. "Well Pines you are more idiotic than I thought. Even alternate versions of you are sloppy!"

The Anchor flashed an orange light again. Some of the officers looked at each other with faces of confusion. I swear I saw the image of the Enlightened Twins looking at the scene, both had disappointed faces. Mabel looked in every direction looking for a way out.

Then several roars were heard in the distance. A lightning bolt struck outside the prison and I saw the figure of a large bear. I was confused for a second when I saw that it had several heads but I remembered who it was.

The Multibear came crashing down and scarred several officers away. Riding on top of it was another version of Mabel, Dipper, and... Pacifica?

This dimension was stranger than I thought.

The three jumped off the bear and ran to us.

"We brought back up!" The other Dipper shouted.

"And it seems we're right on time." The other Mabel smiled.

I noticed the other me had bandages on his arms. "Dude, what happened to you?"

He was taken back by talking to himself, but at this point I was pretty used to it. "Uh..."

"Dipper, don't blow their minds just yet." Mabel punched my arm. "Let's get out of here!"

With the Multibear providing a large distraction it was easy for the rest of us to run out the maingate. Outside we saw Stan along with someone else.

"Stan!" Both Mabel's, Rebel Dipper, and I called at the same time. We all looked at each other semi awkwardly.

The other old man looked at Stan. "Looks like the fanclub is here."

"Ha ha, your jokes are terrible. Get in the truck." Stan then remembered the surplus of people. "All of the kids get in the truck. Hard Work, take them home."

"And you?"

"Engineer, Strength, and I will walk." Stan saw Soos's worry. "Don't give me that look. We'll make it."

We drove off with the town in chaos. The Multibear disappeared as quickly as it appeared leaving the town both dazed and confused as to what happened.

Gideon wouldn't pursue past the town boundary. His power didn't reach the Mystery Shack, yet.

"I can't believe Gideon has so much influence in the town." I said to my alternate self. "What happened?"

"After the Blindeye disbanded the town started noticing all of the weird parts of the town. And after Stan brought back his brother all of the paranormal stuff started going crazy. Just recently a ghost almost burned down the Northwest Mansion."

"Can you back up a bit..." I stopped myself. "I did not understand a word you said."

"It's not your place to know." The lights seemed to dim as an image of the Enlightened Twins appeared over the table in the kitchen.

"Woah!" Everyone except Mabel, Wendy, and I were surprised by the sudden image.

"Enlightened?" I had a few questions. "What's with this place? And what's with all of this dimension hopping? Why can't we just go home?"

"Because that would break the rules. Besides we are quickly reaching the end of the journey."

"Do you have the Anchor?"

Wendy took out the coin. It flashed its orange color once more.

"Good." Enlightened me looked at the other Dipper. "Go to the basement and tell McGuket we're ready. He'll know what to do."

"Uh..." The rebel Dipper looked at us.

"Just do what they say." I informed. "They know more about this than we do."

"Ok..." He ran to the gift shop.

"It is actually very fortunate that you turned up in this world." Enlightened Dipper said.

"It allows us to enhance the Anchor."

"Getting you where you need to go."

"Ironic."

"What is it Brother?"

"That the world that started this is going to help fix it."

Stan and Stanley walked into the room. They saw the image of the Enlightened Twins.

"What is this?" Stan ran into the kitchen.

"Hello Stanford." Enlightened Dipper smiled.

"It's always nice to see a familiar face."

"What?" Stan looked into the image. "I've never seen you before."

"True, not yet. But you were warned about us no doubt."

"How do you-"

"We know many things Stan."

"What has been."

"What is."

"And what will be."

"And you have been chasing an obsession."

"Stan what are they talking about?" Stanley was deadly serious. "Stan."

He looked at the scene. "I- I did what I had to do."

"He used the portal more than once before coming for you Stanley." The Enlightened Twins proceeded.

"He looked through other worlds."

"For secrets that were not his."

"In order to put his plans into action faster."

"It actually is commendable." Enlightened Mabel stated. "Nonetheless Stanford was reckless."

"And things didn't go to plan."

"And now here we are."

"With three copies of the same person standing side by side."

"Not to mention the further repercussions this could cause."

Stanley looked at his brother. "You did all of this. To get me back?"

"I-" Stan turned to us. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have acted so rashly. This is all my fault."

I walked up to him. "Stan. I don't know what's going on. But, I for-"

The other Dipper ran from the gift shop. "McGuket is refusing to do it. Whatever you want him to do."

"Hm." Enlightened Dipper sighed. "Stan if you wish to fix your mistakes then you should go down there and convince McGuket to do as we ask."

"Alright, I'll do it." Stan got up. "For my niece and nephew."

He ran down to the basement.

"What was that all about?" The other Dipper asked.

"Stan... is the reason we're here." I saw his face go from confused to angry. "Did he know? Was he hiding this? I swear he's been keeping secrets this whole summer!"

"Hey man." I spoke. "Maybe you should lay off on him a bit? I mean I don't know if your Stan is as secretive as the one we know, but still... Maybe he has his reasons? And he wants to help fix this."

"I don't know where you're from. But you should know that Stan is not what he seems... But at the sametime, you're right... sort of."

Stan was at the controls to the Portal. McGuket sat there staring at that old laptop of his.

"McGuket, what did those twins tell you to do?"

"They told me to vent the energy from the portal. But we can't Stanford."

"Look, those twins know what they're doing. More than we ever did." Stan put his hands on McGuket's shoulder. "Besides we need to fix this."

McGuket looked back at the countdown. It was still being sporadic with the numbers. "Alright Stanford. I'll do it."

McGuket turned to the controls and flipped several switches and pulled several levers. The machine hummed to life and a bright light came from the machine.

Dipper had just finished talking to himself. Then the Shack was then covered in a bright blue light. The Anchor began to glow a bright orange. The color then changed from orange to yellow and the light was then able to sustain itself.

"Very good." The enlightened Mabel said.

"Now we can move on!"

"Quickly flip the coin."

Dipper got into the light and Wendy picked up the coin. "Alright everyone clear the way." I warned. "It was nice meeting you! Good luck with everything!"

"I'll think about what you said." Rebel Dipper and Dipper looked at each other and both nodded at each other.

Wendy flipped the coin into air. "Call it!"

"Tails!" I shouted.

The scene in the Shack disappeared. The coin landed heads. One day I'm going to get that right.

We were now in the middle of the woods. We looked around the area.

"Where are we?" Dipper asked.

"The trees are different." Wendy pointed out.

"It's also much colder."

"Come on. We should probably find... something." Dipper lead the way.

We walked further into the woods. Ready for the next task.

Stan ran into the kitchen as fast as he left.

"Did I miss them?" He asked.

"They just left." Soos informed.

"Good. Hopefully they'll find there way."

"Stan." Dipper began. "I've been thinking, and I've been a-"

Stan stopped him. "No Dipper, I've been the jerk. I've been lying and cheating since the day I was born. Most people it's ok with, but I shouldn't do it to the ones I love."

Dipper was surprised. It wasn't that much of a change but for Stan, this was progress. "Thanks, old man."

"No problem noodle arms."

Dipper couldn't help but laugh.

Author's Note

I'm back! Can a large new story make up for the time I was gone? I hope so...

So a bit of background. This story was my solution to solving the terrible writer's block I had over the course of two months.

I challenged myself to write a new story from scratch over the course of a week. I wrote this back in mid February the same week as the episode Northwest Mansion Mystery came out. This was all originally posted on my Tumblr and now it's here for you people to enjoy.

This was the first half of the story. The finale will be posted tomorrow.

Thanks for reading.
