Jane shoved the picture back into the book and placed it back where it was originally laying. He couldn't get the idea out of his mind, he could be Sydney's Father. At first he felt horrible for not knowing he had gotten Lisbon pregnant and leaving her to raise their child all alone. As he continued to think, his mind racing, he realized that he had a family at the time of Sydney's conception. He was married to Angela and Charlotte was a little over a year and a half when he had slept with Lisbon. Angela didn't know about his cheating and he was glad it stayed that way.

"Jane?" Lisbon asked as she pulled a blanket around her body.

"Oh, sorry Lisbon did I wake you?" Jane answered standing up quickly from were he was crouching on the ground.

"No!" Lisbon almost yelled while looking at the ground where Jane had just been sitting.

Lisbon ran to where Jane was sitting and picked up the book.

"Please tell me you didn't open this!" Lisbon sighed, trying to decide if she wanted to be happy or sad.

"Why, didn't you tell me?" Jane responded, disregarding Lisbon's question.

"You left, I didn't feel the need to track down a one night stand to tell him that he knocked me up. I knew you had a wife, I didn't want to ruin anything." Lisbon answered tears forming in the corners of her eyes.

"Come here." Jane said walking toward Lisbon trying to pull her into a hug. Lisbon backed away.

"Please leave, I don't want to talk about this." Lisbon said pulling her blanket tighter around her body, turning around and heading back into her bedroom.

Jane watched her leave, to stunned to do anything. He decided that he and Lisbon were going to have a huge talk tomorrow. Following her orders for once in his life, he left the house.

Sydney woke up to her alarm clock, rolling over to face the clock to see the time that read 6:00. She let the music coming out of her alarm play for awhile, while she was trying to gather her bearings and decide if she really wanted to get up or not. Sleep won over her body and before she knew it her Mother was pounding on her door.

"Sydney get up, you're going to be late for school." Sydney shot straight up in bed and looked over at the clock, 6:15. Without giving sleep another thought Sydney jumped out of bed and went over to her dresser to pick out something to wear.

"Sydney are you up?" Lisbon pounded on her daughter's door again. still waiting on an answer from the other side. Logan was happily situated on her hip drinking from his sippy cup.

"I'm here." Sydney said opening her door, Lisbon's hand in mid air awaiting to pound on the door again.

"What are you going to do in college without me there to wake you up?" Lisbon joked as Sydney rolled her eyes and headed to the bathroom to finish her morning routine.

"Lookie here Sydney actually at the bus stop before the bus arrives, damn this is a miracle!" Sophia smiled as she saw Sydney walk up to the 'STOP' sign, where their bus was designated to pick up the group of awaiting students.

"Oh shut up." Sydney barked back at her friend.

"Sorry, guess someone didn't get their beauty sleep last night."

"You could say that, that stupid baby wouldn't shut up."

"That's right you have a baby in the house, my sister came home late last night and she saw another car in your driveway what was that all about?" Sophia questioned.

"Like I said the kid wouldn't sleep, I called Patrick over to hypnotize the thing into sleeping."

"You know you're referring to a baby as a thing right?"

"I know, it was a rough night can we just drop it?"

"Sure." Sophia answered as the bus pulled up to take them to what the girls referred to as 'prison'.

"How was Logan last night?" Van Pelt asked greeting Lisbon at the elevator.

"He was okay." Lisbon lied while trying to juggle carrying her briefcase along with Logan and his diaper bag.

"Do you need some help?" Van Pelt offered while watching her boss struggle with carrying the load.

"Here, take him." Lisbon said passing Logan off to the agent, whose eyes lit up immediately.

Lisbon continued to walk to her office,Van Pelt trailing behind her. Her mind had to much running through it to not notice that Jane wasn't in his usual place on the couch and that her office light was on. As she opened the door and walked in, she ended up standing face to face, or in her case face to chest with Jane.

"What the hell are you doing in here!" Lisbon nearly yelled, stopping herself from walking into Jane.

"We need to talk."

"No we don't." Lisbon said pushing past Jane to put her things onto her desk.

"Yes we do." Jane continued following close behind Lisbon.

"You know what I think i'll just take Logan out to the bullpen." Van Pelt butted into the conversation, and leaving not letting Lisbon say anything to her statement.

"I really don't want to talk about it, I told you last night why I never told you about Sydney. What else it there to talk about?" Lisbon asked folding her hands across her chest.

Sydney sat in math class, her mind to preoccupied on what she had overheard the pervious night to care about learning how to solve 45,45,90 triangles. She knew that Patrick and her Mother never saw her listen into their conversation in the hallway, she was crouched against her doorframe, putting one ear to the door trying the best she could to listen to what was being said. All she got from the conversation was all from her Mother speaking, the few words were, one night, wife and ruin.

"Sydney, the answer." Mrs. Rogers, her math teacher said breaking Sydney from her thoughts.

"What?" Sydney questioned feeling embarrassed from not paying attention.

"What's the answer." Mrs. Rogers repeated. Sydney looked down at her blank notebook and sighed. "I don't know."

"Maybe next time, you should be paying attention." Mrs. Rogers snapped as she quickly called on another student.
