Safe Heaven; four.

Previously on Safe Heaven.

Julia stood behind a rock, listening on to their conversation. What?! She had some very important news to tell the boys and she also came here to apologize to Cam. She rolled her eyes, because the Julia she knew wouldn't come back to apologize. JT was right, she was becoming a soft spot.

With a deep breath, she walked over to them, squealing.

"Guys!" she yelled happily, ignoring the sad tension. "Guys! I found a faster way to Heaven."

"What?" said JTand Cam in unison. Julia smirked. "I found a way to Heaven! We'll be there in two days at least and we're finally going to be free."

And those words scared Cam the most.

Cam.

It was as if it was a dream, the whole death thing.

As if he would wake up tomorrow, see a good morning text from Maya and his parents, and that he didn't have to worry about going to heaven. If he was alive, his biggest worry that morning would be hoping that he didn't fail his math quiz.

And yet, here he is, dead. Here he is worrying about problems that are like a million tiny problems combined.

"Are you serious about this whole heaven thing?" JT asked, with a suspicious tone in his voice which caused Julia to glare. Her brown eyes met JT's softer hazel ones with such fury. "What are you trying to say? That I'm lying?"

JT and Julia continued to bicker, which made Cam in a more depressed mood than he already was.

"Guys." he muttered, to break them up. They ignored him. Cam sighed. He noticed a small cave next to a river. 'That looks peaceful.. well, way more peaceful than this,' he thought.

Julia looked at the cave Cam was talking about and decided to walk over there. JT sighed. "Be careful, Jules."

Julia glanced at him and rolled her eyes. "What are we, 12? Stop being such a damn baby!"

The cave was rather small, with drops of water falling out of its sides. On the ground there was sand, and it brought Cam back the memories of the beach where he saw that stupid video.

His heart ached. It ached for some kind of release to get through this pain and it's as if it'll never go away. He will always remember the pain he caused everyone else by taking his own life. His parents; his billet parents; the Ice Hounds; Maya.

The familiar salty water trickled down Cam's cheeks. It will never stop. The constant voice telling him that it was his fault why things are the way they are will never end.

Nothing can make it better at this point.

Maya sat on the uncomfortable chair. Students around her talked about the latest drama, but she didn't care one bit. Tori, her best friend, rolled her eyes and snapped her perfectly manicured fingers.

"Maya! Hellooooo!" Tori sighed. Maya blinked and stared at Tori blankly. "Yes?"

"Are you okay? Did you not hear me? Can you believe that Clare 'the geek' Edwards is getting it on with Drew Torres, President of the fucking school! He is so hot! I'd let him take control of me like that. How about you?" Tori said squealing.

"Sounds disgusting, Tor. I rather pass."

"You're no fun!"

"I'm glad." Maya said with basically no emotion in her voice. Ms. Dawes handed Maya her exam she took last week, and the big fat D marked on her paper made her feel a million times worse. Her mom was going to kill her.

"Not your very best, Maya." Ms. Dawes said with a bit of sympathy. Maya had the nerve to roll her eyes. Every one of her teachers gave her the same tone ever since Cam passed away. 'Watch out for Maya Matlin everybody! Her totally hot athletic boyfriend killed himself a few months ago! Treat her right or the same thing might happen to her.' It was brutal. Very brutal.

"Ouch.." her brunette friend hissed. "You're usually the smartest out of us, what happened?"

Maya shrugged. "Don't know, don't care. The only thing I got right on this stupid test was my name and she gave me a D. Obviously she feels bad for me, just like everyone else does and to be completely honest, it's getting on my fucking nerves."

Tori's smile fell. "Maya they're trying to-"

"To what? To forget that these last few months have been pure hell? To forget that my boyfriend had killed himself because I didn't see what was wrong with him? I COULD OF HELPED HIM, TORI! I COULD HAVE HELPED HIM GET BETTER AND HE WOULD STILL BE HERE. SAFE. WITH ME. GOD ALL YOU FUCKING CARE ABOUT IS YOUR CLOTHES AND YOUR HAIR AND WHAT'S GOING ON WITH THE SCHOOL. I'M HERE TRYING TO PICK UP ALL THE PIECES BUT I CAN'T!" Maya yelled, causing her entire english class to stare at her. Tears weld up in her blue eyes.

"Its irreplaceable. Worthless. I'm worthless." She whispered and with that she ran out of the classroom.

She didn't give a shit about how much trouble she'll be in. Nothing can compare to the pain she's feeling right now.

"Ow! You little fuck!"

Julia's voice echoed around the cave. JT's foot had found its way to her back.

"I'm sorry... sorry!" JT stifled a laugh. Cam rolled his eyes at them. He knew that JT had a thing for Julia, so this was horrible flirting at it's finest. Cam turned to Julia. "So, wheres the shortcut?"

Julia looked around the cave and then at Cam. "What shortcut?"

JT raised an eyebrow. "The one you promised we'd get that would take us to the magical tree, remember?"

"Oh." Julia said, with shaking hands. "About that..."

"I knew it!" Yelled JT. "You were lying." Julia didn't try to deny it and that's when Cam knew. They were back to square one. Cam's face filled with anger and he turned away from the group. Julia rolled her eyes.

"I'm sorry, alright? I messed up. Just..please. Don't give up now."

Cam laughed but there wasn't any amusement in his voice. "I just want this to be over. The whole adventure thing. I just want to get to heaven so I can forget about my old life."

JT softly placed his hand on Cam's shoulder. "You know that when we enter heaven, you wont forget about everything. You'll just feel less pain." Cam shrugged off his hand.

"Well that's bullshit! As long as that girl with blonde hair and blue eyes is in my memory, there is no way the pain will lessen. So don't tell me that Heaven will be worth the wait, because I'm loosing faith."

Julia rolled her eyes again. "Oh come on. You don't think I've had enough? I died back in 2009. Four years before you. JT has been here for seven! We've been waiting longer than a couple of months for heaven, Campbell. We all know how you feel. We have to be in this together."

Cam didn't think about it like that. He didn't realize that those two must be exhausted of the wait. He'd go crazy having to stay here another few years or more. He looks at Julia, as if his eyes say, I'm sorry.

Julia nods. "We have to move, come on."
