Forgetting Myself. Chapter 4.

Ashley's POV

You've got to be kidding me. Nothing is ready. They food is still cooking. I hired 30 servers to prevent that. Ughhhh. Everyone will be here in 15 minutes. I left right after the ceremony; I wanted to be at my house to see if it was all ready for the reception.

"Miss Davies?" a small waitress spoke quietly, when I turned around she seemed terrified to be speaking to me.

"Yes?"

"Everything is ready, um.." she trailed off looking down at her feet "I was wondering if I could get your autograph?" she took a picture out of her apron with a marker and I smiled and nodded and took the picture and marker from her and signed it quickly handing it back to her. "Thank you so much."

"No problem." I sighed when she walked away. People were starting to arrive and filter in my house. Soon the entire house was packed. Kyla wanted a small wedding but a huge reception. My back yard had a huge party tent set up with all the tables and bar and the dance floor. Wasn't too happy about the dance floor but Aiden demanded it and then again wasn't my wedding to plan so I went with it.

"Ashley Davies" a familiar voice called for me, when I turned around my eyes landed on a very old friend.

"Chelsea!" I smiled and took her in for a long hug seeing Glen trailing behind her "you look gorgeous" I stepped back when Glen slide his arm around her tiny waist "Ashley" he greeted me in the way any brother of the exgirlfriend should I guess

"Glen." I smiled at him and turned to Chelsea "Same to you, girl!" she smiled sweetly

"When do the bride and groom arrive?"

I took out my phone that was in my clutch glancing at the time "they should be here in 10 minutes, Kyla wanted to change into her reception dress." I shrugged and slid my phone back into my clutch.

We made small talk for a little bit until it was time to make our way to the back yard. We made our way to my deck in the back of my house. My deck had led to a staircase to lead you to the tent. The tables were set up.

"Have you talked to her?" Chelsea whispered in my ear when we got down to the reception area. I tried to play dumb but we all knew who she was talking about.

"Who?" and all she did was give me a sideways glance and I sighed "No" I didn't want to mention calling her earlier, today was Kyla and Aiden's day not mine. "Kyla looked gorgeous today didn't she?" I was trying to be slick and change the subject before I would get more questions.

"She isn't dating anyone" she whispered in my ear before leaning back into Glen asking if he wanted to find their seats. I was left just standing there processing her last statement. So if she wasn't dating anyone who was the girl she brought? A friend? Did she bring her to make me think she was dating someone to make me jealous? Ughhh so many unanswered questions.

I was snapped out of my thoughts by distant relatives of mine and Kyla's. I politely excused myself from the conversation so I could call Kyla to see where she was. Making my way back up to my house, when I reached the top of the wooden stairs, brown met blue. She was breath taking.

She had just walked out of my house the wind just hitting her making her hair blow back off of her shoulders exposing her neck and collar bone. I pulled my bottom lip inbetween my teeth taking her all in. Not much changed, if anything she got better looking with age. She seemed to carry herself with more confidence, I liked that. "Hey" I barely got out and stepped away from the top of the stairs just in case I fainted so I didn't fall down the stairs.

"Hey" my heart was racing hearing her voice in person again was something I dreamed of. I went to open my mouth to hopefully say something in English. "Spence I grabbed your sweater I know how you get cold easily, oh.." She stopped speaking when she looked up at Spencer then at me

I slid my hand in my hair scratching the back of my head I don't know why I felt jealous but I did. I couldn't change that "Um, Kyla and Aiden should be here any minutes. The uh, reception will be down the stairs, there is an open bar so help yourselves, you and your girlfriend enjoy yourselves, excuse me" I said and walked quickly past them shutting the sliding glass door behind me going into my living room sitting down on the couch.

Why did I say that! Chelsea told me she wasn't seeing anyone. Maybe I wanted to hear from Spencer if she was or not. God Ashley so stupid. Way to blow your first real opportunity to talk to your girl. I had my head tilted back with my hands covering my face trying to calm myself down and talking myself out of crying.

"She isn't my girlfriend" my eyes shot open and my hands fell from my face. I didn't even hear her come in let alone walked over to me. I had wood floors and Spencer was wearing heels. My mind was so loud.

"I..I didn't.." I couldn't even form simple sentences, get your shit together Davies, you need to be on your 'A' game when she is around.

"I know you didn't ask" she sighed and looked down at her feet, I took this opportunity to stand up and step closer to her but she answered that with a step back "Not here. Not today" she looked up at me. I tired stepping closer to her again but she stopped me with putting her hand up "Can we just.. Keep in mind this is Kyla's day"

"I know this is her day, I am the maid of honor. But we need to talk Spencer." Her expression changed from hurt to anger in a second.

"You had 5 fucking years to talk to me Ashley, it can wait another day" I shut my eyes and hung my head. I heard her walk away and quietly said "this could have been our day" then I heard the sliding glass door slam shut.

My phone beeped, it was a text from Kyla saying she was here in the drive way. I took a deep breath and made my way out to Kyla. I could faintly hear the DJ announce that Kyla and Aiden were on their way down. "Eww gross you two couldn't wait until your honeymoon to fuck?"

"Make love" I was corrected by Aiden when he wrapped an arm around his new wife and I gagged.

"Who knew you could make love in the back seat of a car" I spat back.

We made our way down to the reception and Kyla and Aiden made their entrance after being announced as Mrs. and Mr. Dennison. I smiled as everyone clapped and tapped there champagne glass for them to kiss. I snuck my way over to the bar to get myself a glass of champagne for myself. When I turned around my eyes immediately found Spencer I watched as she laughed with Chelsea and her date. I quickly drank my champagne. Tonight is going to be such a long night. And took in a big breath and started to walk toward the bride and groom.
