As Theta and Ethan made it inside the city Ethan had shown Theta more about killing Grunts and defending himself. He was holding his twin SMGs and Theta was still holding his new Plasma Pistol. "We're getting closer to reaching the inside the inner part of the city now. Which means that we'll morn then likely see more Grunts and more of their stronger allies." Ethan told the child as his helmet's visor covered his face again. "Remember what I told you."
"Hide if we see any of the aliens."
"Right."
Scouting the area around them, one of the storage centers opened and the two raised their weapons. The storage unit's light turned on and what they saw sitting inside shocked them: A fully working Warthog with a guass rifle turrent was in the middle of the large room.
"Jackpot. Hop in Theta, we can move around the city much faster now." As Theta started to climb into the Warthog he saw a shotgun in the seat.
"Ethan, there's a shotgun in the passanger seat."
"There is?" He asked, having not checked the side seat. He then looks slightly over to the right and see's the weapon proped up agenst the seat. "Nice find, I can use this." He says as he puts the spare weapon in the back. Putting on his seatbelt, Theta sit's with his weapon in his lap as Ethan starts the Warthog up. "Ready?" He nods his head as the ODST starts up the Warthog. "Okay then. Hang on tight!" He yells as the two drove into the city. As the sun began to rise over in the west Ethan turned off his helmet light with a very quick flip of the finger. 'Just hang on a little longer team, I'm on my way.' He thought as he truned left and ran over a sleeping Grunt. "Haha! Take that you dumbass." The twenty one year old mocked as he saw the fresh blood on the windshield. They then came to a two way turn so he asked Theta where he thought that they should go.
"Left?" He asked, having never been in the or for that matter a city before unless if being part of the Alpha counted that is.
"Then left we go." He said in a happy tone. Things were starting to look up for the ODST since he got to the city.
"So what will you do if you can't find your team Ethan?"
"If that does happen then I'll keep you safe and finish the mission."
"How will you keep me safe and complete your mission?"
"It's like this Theta, I need to-" Theta was woken up at that moment by the sound of Caboose talking/yelling from his door.
"Theta. Theta, Wash said that it's time to wake you up."
Groaning, the A.I. turned child replies with, "Okay Caboose, I'm awake." as he gets out of bed.
"Good to know. I'll see you outside for playtime." The man said as he ran outisde Blue base as Theta smiled. Once he reaches the outside Caboose calls out to him from the gravity life. "Theta, We WILL Have SO MUCH FUN with the Flying thing!"
"Caboose, not now!" Wash said as he walked up to Theta. "Theta, I need to talk with you real quick okay?"
"Okay Wash, what's wrong?"
"It's about Simmons. I need you to try and talk to him. We've tried and nothing's working."
"I got it Wash, I'll give it a try soon."
BOOM!
They look over towards Red base and see both flames and explosions.
"Or I'll talk to him right now."
"Good call."
"Caboose, we'll play later oaky?"
"Okay Theta! WHEEEEEEEEE!" He shouted as he ran towards the gravity left and was launched into the side of a hill.
After walking to the outer side of Red base where Simmons was shooting the Meta's weapon.
"I'll be on the other side of the wall Theta."
"Okay." He said as the ex-Freelancer wlaked around the corner. "Simmons?" Theta said as the man turned around.
"what is it Theta?"
"Can we talk, please?"
"we have nothing to talk about."
"I think we do. You see Simmons, it's about Gr-"
"don't finish that word unless you want to die." Simmons said as he aimed the grenade launcher at Theta. Theta himself back up as he put his hands in the air.
"Please Simmons, just let me talk."
Putting the gun down, he says, "fine." as Theta put's his hands back down.
"Good. Now, why are you out here?"
"i'm training. i need to keep the rest of us safe and i will until i die."
"You can do that will the rest of us. We'll keep each other safe. All of us are friends." He said as he moved closer to Simmons.
"yeah right. i don't believe you Theta." He told the child as he got withen five feet of him.
"I know. But, I want you to get help. Your my friend Simmons."
"don't try to help me Theta. i don't want or need help from anyone." He says as Theta gets ready to hug him.
"Please." He begged one last time.
" only because you asked me enough times Theta." Simmons said as he hugged the child back. After the hug was stopped Theta took Simmons' hand and lead him in Red base where the rest of the group minus Caboose were waiting.
"hey guys."
"Sit down Simmons, we need to talk." Wash said. "Theta, keep an eye on Caboose for us okay?"
"I will Wash!" He tells the ex-Freelancer as he runs out of Red base and back to Blue base. "Caboose, Caboose, where are you?" Theta asked as said Sim Trooper came flying right towards him.
"WATCH OUT THETA!" He yelled as Theta moved out of the way just in time. Caboose went head first into the side of a hill. "Are you okay?" Theta asked his friend as he stood back up.
"Yep. Let's play." He said as he picked up Theta, ran back to the gravity lift and jumped on top of it, sending them both into the side of the same hill. Theta passed out from the impact of the force of the hit. "Theta?! On No, I need to tell Washington about this. But, if I do he will yell at me! I don't care about his right now.
Theta needs me. Hold on Theta, you'll get help soon." Caboose said as he picked up Theta again and ran towards Red base as fast as his legs could run.
