So hey everyone. I know it's been a while. And trust me I know. But recovering from Cancer is not a walk in the park.
Yup…
Well apart from that here's the next chapter.
I guess this a bit of a quickwrite considering I really had a bit of a hard time trying to come up with how to incorporate how Timaeus all of a sudden say's he will work with Yami, dispite how I made our favorite Atlantean knight react and how it was shown on the show you know.
Well enough of that.
Enjoy :D
…
Chapter 4: Forgiveness is not given...
The mere feeling of being in a solid body, regardless of shape, again caused the Atlantean knight to flap his wings, and in truth he would be roaring in joy if it had not been for the dark-infested monsters that came in view to his eye.
And he would have fired at them if it had not been for the comforting warmth that fell beside and strangely enough, behind him that caused his involuntary stop.
"Timaeus…" He heard the unforgettable voice.
The teal dragon looked behind him to see the Pharaoh, despite the determine look on his face, the old knight could easily see the tears that the old monarch had shed before. Clearly given from the aftereffects of the duel that the teen had encountered.
The duel that concluded with the young monarch's other half of his soul, loosing and disappearing after the test…
A lesser amount of dissatisfaction built in his system, but the beasts in front of him prevented him from completely drowning his anger. Regardless of what happened in the past, the transformed warrior still had something to do. His long head turned back to see the old foes he faced before. No mater he wanted to resent against the teen monarch, there was no way he was allowing any feelings get before his mission. Not after what that demeaning old Atlantean king has done to his old friends.
Nothing.
"Lend Us Your Power!" The voice of the late pharaoh had spoke behind him again.
The majestic teal dragon hovered right next to his companion. He will fight, for this one battle. Timaeus gave the female mage one look.
Dark Magician Girl stared at him, seeing the expression that the dragon gave, filled with determination and the will to fight for this cause. Thankfully no smudge of revenge in the dragon's expression. She gave him one understanding nod.
Yami stood stronger on his legs, not caring for anything that happened around apart from in front of him. He stared momentarily on Timaeus, knowing that the dragon was weary and not willing to forgive him entirely just yet.
The teen was grateful that much, Yami expected nothing more from the dragon, the best that he is going to get is only tolerance for this battle. A somewhat releieved sigh escaped his lips before his dark eyes faced the blond mage right besides the majestic dragon.
Yami rose his arm for his command. "Dark Magician Girl. Fuse with Timaeus."
She jumped onto the dragon's back without hesitation; her attire glowing for a millisecond, replacing itself from her regular mage outfit to that of a female knight.
"Dark Magician Girl The Dragon Knightl!" The Pharaoh yelled, the sound itself explanatory for the attack. (NOTE 1)
Dark Magician Girl rose her sword feeling the strong power that came with the dragon's spirit, along with another wave of power No one had to tell her that her Master still had one m ore trick up his sleeve.
"Now I use the magic card, Excalibur!" Yami yelled placing the card in the spell slot.
The sword that the mage previously had changed, growing and becoming heavier than the one she held before. Apart from being heavier and with more power, the upgrade alone allowed their attack points to shift from their original 2600 attack to 5200.
That is more than enough to win the battle.
"Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight! Attack his monster!"
Those were the words the transformed knight was waiting for. He flapped his wings shooting from the ground and already positioning his head for his attack. His bright fire hitting the enemy on target.
"Black Dragon Injection Burst!" The Pharaoh yelled the command.
Dark Magician Girl shot her sword forward a tumescent power streaming down from the tip of the blade and combining her power with her dragon, the combination hit both opponents head on destroying them on impact.
Yami braced himself, he never imaged such power from his monsters. He felt the bottom of his boots scrape against the hard ground, the attack alone is blinding.
The sheer force caused the power to expand, spreading to around the rest of the valley.
...
The bright image flashed through the portal's vision. Many of the monsters had to shield their eyes to prevent themselves from being blinded. Yet two of the monster spirits continued to stare at the screen.
Both Alantian knights couldn't stop smiling, feeling the power expand to even them, their non-solid forms feeling the sensation as if they were there in the battle field themselves.
They knew that their companion is willing to give his power with the pharaoh for this very cause.
…
"Master… Master."
Finally the teen opened his eyes to see both Timaeus (still in dragon form unbeknownst to Yami) and Dark Magician girl right besides him.
He felt something press against his back, or rather his back pressing against something.
Wait.
Slowly he made his hand moved around, his touch feeling a rather smooth surface.
It was bright. Really bright. The teen felt someone helped him up. He turned his head to see the female mage help him up.
His cheeks warmed up from her contact. She was warm and gentle with him, her face no longer of sadness or anger, rather she was smiling. The moment he saw those aquamarine eyes he had to looked away, not entirely certain how he should react. Although he could feel his cheeks warming up the slightest.
For how long he's been on his back, he didn't have a single clue, but the faint stiffness gave him the idea that it had been for at least a few minutes. There was also an irksome dull amount of pain around his abdomen and partially his left wrist, but the late pharaoh ignored it.
"Master…" Dark Magician Girl said holding Yami gingerly by the shoulders.
"Master, are you well?" She asked softly.
The teen turned away from the female mage, even with her soft spoken words, he couldn't look her in the eyes.
"I'm fine." He said already pulling away from her. The mage did nothing as the teen stood from his encounter.
Purple eyes faced the the transformed knight, Yami could sense the purgatory tension. The look that the dragon gave the teen was readable from a mile away.
The expression practiacally screamed: Get on with it.
Yami looked away, he couldn't dare look at the dragon that he betrayed. He might as well have stabbed him along with all his monsters in the back and right through their hearts. The heart of his deck...
"Master…" Dark Magician Girl hovered in front of the teen so that he was staring at her.
Her gentle face alone just made the teen look down.
"I don't know how to apologize… no, there is no way I could ever apologize. Words don't make up for what I have done to you. To all of my monsters…" He said gripping his fists.
"What I have done… it's inexcusable and…" The old monarch couldn't muster himself to finish those words.
Timaeus looked away. The fact that the Pharaoh was finally coming to terms what he had done almost made the transformed knight want to help the teen out of free will. But not until he heard those true words.
Yami felt his eyes burned with tears. He mentally scolded at himself for showing any form of emotion. Unfortunately Yami knew that his solid emotional barrier still had a crack in it. And the only way for that crack to be fixed is when he finally had Yugi back here and safe.
Timeaus moved his working eye towards the late Pharaoh, though he was trying to hide it, he knew that it was almost futile to hide it from them. He casted his single functional eye to his partner, the moment that he did, his eye widened at the action that the female mage had done with the teenage monarch.
Her arms wrapped around the teen tightly.
"Yes… what you've done in the past… I could never forgive you for what you did to me or… to my master and friends." She blinked the tears away, still holding onto the absolutely still teenager.
Her tears slowed down, allowing her to be able to speak clearly.
"But you regret it… and I know you never will commit that act again." She paused now slowly releasing the slightly flustered male. Her hand holding onto his healthy red face his irises small from shock.
"I don't want to see you work up yourself again… it's not like you." Tears were shut from escaping her eyes sealed. She wasn't going to cry either.
Yami lowered his head once again. Since the duel from loosing his partner and his new friends, a single tear fell from his purple hues. "I'm sorry..." He whispered.
At the sound of those words, since the first time that the light half of the soul was separated from the pharaoh, the smallest smile appeared on the knight. Not the dragon, but the real Timeaus's form inside.
Warmth wrapped around the teen. He quickly looked up to see that the feeling was not from the mage but from the other source... Yami's mouth opened slightly in realization his eyes face the teal dragon.
Neither of the three noticed that the powerful light that was made during the duel had faded to nothing.
Yami looked down holding a palm close to his sight, then looking right towards at his monster companions.
"Timaeus… Dark Magician Girl… Please fight with me."
It was in that short moment that thousands of thoughts passed in the knight's head. The duel still remained solid in his head. Even though the monarch apologize part of him still kept the doubt within him.
But he knew keeping a grudge against the old monarch will not do him or the monster's any good.
He had only one choice.
He nodded, completely aware that his female companion also agreed to help the teen. Both started to fade, disappearing from the duel field and back to their original dimension, back home...
Yami's eyes started to dry, looking up to the sky; it's color returning back to it's clear blue away from the grey it was painted before.
The tensions from before were as strong as when he saw Timaeus finally appear before him. Yami knew that the dragon doesn't and probably will never trust him again.
He expected nothing less from the dragon. It was a price to pay in order for Timeaus to fight along side him. And quite frankly, it was better that the Dragon hated him, yet will work with him to fight off the danger that pursues his friends and the monsters.
Although neither one knew it, he knew what Timaeus was thinking of the same situation.
Nothing like anything that the young Teen would think otherwise.
"I won't forgive you. But I will share my power for your cause..."
…
Yes, short chapter I know, but yes this is the end of the story.
(However if I get a certain amount of reviews I will write an epilogue. But only if I get enough reviews I will) lol
Laziness does get in the way XD
Now here are the NOTES:
(1) Yes, I know it is the English name of the monster form. But in all honest sense I feel that it was the most proper way to write the monster's name. But hey, it's fanfiction, what could go worst XD
Well that's, that thanks for reading ^^
