Welcome again to chap 4 of the story.
To SiRoLol: Here you go, the other end of the bargain. Sorry for the very long delay. PM me if you want to know why.
Did I say the phrase right? Nevermind you know what I mean.
Chapter 4: Discovery (Zen's P.O.V.)
"I-I'm nervous!" Edena panicked as we closed the Institute of War. I can't believe my ears when she said that, actually. We spent over a year training her powers of the storm, which consisted of wind, water and lightning elements (Because a storm is made of those). Yet, the first words I hear is 'I'm nervous'?
"We've talked about this, just go inside and ask the high council that you want to be a league champion." I, almost, shouted at her. Would it not have been Lee Sin's teachings about meditation, I could only imagine her running back to the woods with a huge storm that could possibly tear down the surrounding trees.
Luckily, she took it well, remembering her promise to be a League champion. And so she ran towards the entrance…
It took me around 10 minutes to finish my judgement, so I am guessing 20 minutes for her. But she hadn't come out of the institute. I felt a powerful gust that seemed to follow the entrance of the institute. What's more? A huge storm cloud that looked ready to strike. Oh no, I thought.
I entered the institute with a quick dash. I searched inside, finding a summoner who was carrying Edena in his arms. I went to him before he could shout for help. I was surprised that over the year, she'd had the problem for a hundred times, not that I mind, but it kept getting worse. She used to only 'hear the Screaming or the Wind', now she also passes out after a few seconds.
"Hold on, I can fix her up." I told the summoner. "W-Wait, did you conduct the judgement for her?" I asked.
"Why yes, she passed. Do tell her that she would be an official Champion by the end of next month. Why next month? You may ask, it is because the high councilors made a decision to rework you. Don't be alarmed much, you'll still be a champion, just with reworked abilities." He told me. I guess my ultimate was a little overpowered despite the damage/heal reduction…
"What happened?" Zatch asked once he saw the sight of me carrying her. "It's another time of the week." Leon was quick to answer. I laid her on my bed and, with one more thought, attempted another research about her condition. I've tried for 11 months, yet nothing. Even the guys were thinking I've been to the whole condition a bit too much. But it came to me that there was one more place I haven't gone to: where she came from.
"Where do you think you're going?" Balth asked me when he saw me trying to leave quickly, not that I wanted to avoid attention. "On a long trip. Tell her when she wakes up 'She's in the League'". With that I left.
(3rd person view.)
Edena woke up with a yelp and a small headache. "What was that?" Balth asked himself as he went inside the room. "Oh hey, you're awake. Would you like to join us for entertainment?" He asked her. "Unfortunately, we only have a karaoke set. Hopefully that's enough though."
"C'mon Leon. I won, you have to go first." Zatch argued. Leon was frustrated at him, though he took it nicely and grabbed the microphone. "Fine, but you're next."
Leon skimmed through the book, and he found an interesting song. He entered the 4-digit number on the screen and played the selected song.
"Blow Me Away- Breaking Benjamin."
Leon:
They fall in line, One at a time
Ready to play
(I can't see them anyway)
No time to lose, We've got to move
Steady your helm
(I am losing sight again)
Fire your guns, It's time to run
Blow me away
(I will stay, in the mess I made)
After the fall, We'll shake it off
Show me the way
Only the strongest will survive
Lead me to heaven, when we die
I am the shadow on the wall
I'll be the one to save us all
Leon found Edena awake. "Hey, princess…" He called out, "Try to keep up…" He then tossed the microphone at her, which she caught without problem. She looked at the Television that appeared the next words for the song. She tried her best to keep up with the words and rhythm.
Edena:
There's nothing left, So save your breath
Lying in wait
(Caught inside this tidal wave)
Your cover's blown, No where to go
Holding your fate
(Loaded I will walk alone)
Fire your guns, It's time to run
Blow me away
(I will stay, in the mess I made)
After the fall, We'll shake it off
Show me the way
Leon found another microphone in the set. He hooked it up to sing the chorus with her.
Leon: Only the strongest will survive
Edena: Lead me to heaven, when we die
Leon: I am the shadow on the wall
Edena: I'll be the one to save us all
Leon:
You wanted it back
(DON'T MAKE ME MAD!)
(ENOUGH!)
(DIE!)
Leon: Only the strongest will survive
Edena: Lead me to heaven, when we die
Leon: I am the shadow on the wall
Edena: I'll be the one to save us all
Both:...save us all
Balth and Zatch were impressed. For a guy like Leon, he sang like a rock-star, effortlessly. For Edena, she didn't have much trouble keeping up. "Your turn." He tossed the microphone at Zatch.
Zen travelled to the forest where he first found Edena. When he reached the spot that she lied down unconscious, he kept on moving forward, hoping it was the right direction…
After minutes, he found a large area of stone, granite, pretty much everything as far his eye could see was grey. He went on ahead towards nowhere. Because barely anything can be used to mark checkpoints, he dropped pieces of paper like a trail.
He skimmed through the book as if he was like a professional reader, though it was taking long. "C'mon, a guy can't possibly take more than 10 minutes to find something." Leon complained. Oh, here's a good one, Zatch thought.
"Love-American Authors."
Remember when we were lost at sea?
We would look at the bright night sky
Thinking of, what we could be
What we could be
How to spend our lives
Remember when we had nothing left?
We were strung out in the cold
Holding on, trying to save our breath
Trying to save our breath
We would not let go
Whoa
Through the good, through the bad and ugly
Whoa
We'll conquer anything
Edena turned to look at Balth, tears welling up in his eyes. He had a girlfriend once, but died in an accident. He blamed himself for it.
'Cause one day we're gonna come back
And laugh at it all
One day we'll look at the past
With love, love
One day we're gonna come back
And relive those thoughts
One day we'll look at the past
With love, love
With love, love
Remember down in the forest heart
We were lost, losing hope and faith
We put our trust in counting stars
We were counting stars
Trying to find our way
Remember up on the mountain top
Looking out on the rocks below
Thanking God, will we never stop
We will never stop
No we won't let go
'Cause one day we're gonna come back
And laugh at it all
One day we'll look at the past
With love, love
One day we're gonna come back
And relive those thoughts
One day we'll look at the past
With love, love
(Love, love)
Like a scene from the past
Where we look back and laugh
With love, love
A thought like a flash
Black and white, hope it lasts
With love, love
Like a scene from the past
Where we look back and laugh
With love, love
A thought like a flash
Black and white, hope it lasts
With love
'Cause one day we're gonna come back
And laugh at it all
One day we'll look at the past
With love, love
One day we're gonna come back
And relive those thoughts
One day we'll look at the past
With love, love
(Love, love)
With love, love
Balth wiped his tears away, as he grabbed the microphone from Zatch. He skimmed through the book. He found a good song, with a very very slight reference to his past.
"Demons-Imagine Dragons."
When the days are cold
And the cards all fold
And the saints we see
Are all made of gold
When your dreams all fail
And the ones we hail
Are the worst of all
And the blood's run stale
I wanna hide the truth
I wanna shelter you
But with the beast inside
There's nowhere we can hide
No matter what we breed
We still are made of greed
This is my kingdom come
This is my kingdom come
Edena felt something strange as Balth sang, but she tried to discard the feeling.
When you feel my heat
Look into my eyes
It's where my demons hide
It's where my demons hide
Don't get too close
It's dark inside
It's where my demons hide
It's where my demons hide
At the curtain's call
It's the last of all
When the lights fade out
All the sinners crawl
So they dug your grave
And the masquerade
Will come calling out
At the mess you made
Don't wanna let you down
But I am hell bound
Though this is all for you
Don't wanna hide the truth
No matter what we breed
We still are made of greed
This is my kingdom come
This is my kingdom come
When you feel my heat
Look into my eyes
It's where my demons hide
It's where my demons hide
Don't get too close
It's dark inside
It's where my demons hide
It's where my demons hide
They say it's what you make
I say it's up to fate
It's woven in my soul
I need to let you go
Your eyes, they shine so bright
I wanna save that light
I can't escape this now
Unless you show me how
When you feel my heat
Look into my eyes
It's where my demons hide
It's where my demons hide
Don't get too close
It's dark inside
It's where my demons hide
It's where my demons hide
Balth was arguably the best singer of the four, though it was obvious because he is a musician.
Zen, after a long walk, a very, very long one, found a house that was broken. It was in pieces. Pretty much everything was destroyed. He was, however, surprised that the only things that were in one piece was a tiolet seat, and a television. He checked out if the television still worked. It did.
"Come on, you can do it. Just sing your heart out." Zatch tried to comfort Edena, trying to sound like Balth. The musician did notice it, but didn't say a word. "O-Ok…" She stuttered. She took the book of songs, and slowly turned the pages one by one. Leon thought it was gonna be a while before she could find her song, but she found hers just as fast as everyone else.
Just as she was about to start, the other three heard thunder clapping across the sky. They looked up, and they saw a thick amount of storm clouds, forming a spiral shape.
"Blown Away-Carrie Underwood."
Dry lightning cracks across the skies
Those storm clouds gather in her eyes
Her daddy was a mean old mister
Mama was an angel in the ground
The weather man called for a twister
She prayed blow it down
The three then felt a strong force of wind as it started to rain. "What is happening?" Leon asked. "I don't know!" Zatch answered.
There's not enough rain in Oklahoma
To wash the sins out of that house
There's not enough wind in Oklahoma
To rip the nails out of the past
When she sang the first word of the chorus, the power of the wind spiked up so much, that it literally did what the first line of the chorus read, and it pushed the three guys out of the room.
Shatter every window 'til it's all blown away,
Every brick, every board, every slamming door blown away
'Til there's nothing left standing, nothing left of yesterday
Every tear-soaked whiskey memory blown away,
Blown away
Much to their luck, Leon managed to grab the window frame, Zatch grabbing and grasping Leon's foot, and Balth grasped Zatch's. The force of the wind was still strong enough to lift the three as they hovered meters away from the ground. "Edena! STOP!" Balth shouted. His order fell on deaf ears. However, they noticed her kneel down and struggling while she sang.
She heard those sirens screaming out
Her daddy laid there passed out on the couch
She locked herself in the cellar
Listened to the screaming of the wind
Some people call it taking shelter
She called it sweet revenge
Edena grabbed a fistful of her soft white hair and held very tightly, so tight that her knuckles were white.
Shatter every window 'til it's all blown away,
Every brick, every board, every slamming door blown away
'Til there's nothing left standing, nothing left of yesterday
Every tear-soaked whiskey memory blown away,
Blown away
"Where is Zen?! Of all the times, he is gone when we are in the brink of death?" Leon yelled. He tightened his grip as the three nearly went deaf because of a nearby, powerful thunder. The rain grew heavier and heavier, and now the three were soaking wet.
Zen, watched the recorded weather news of the television. A tornado of devastating power striked Edena's former house. He heard a loud thunder from afar. Knowing the situation, he hurried back, dissolving into a flock of origami cranes for faster travell.
There's not enough rain in Oklahoma
To wash the sins out of that house
There's not enough wind in Oklahoma
To rip the nails out of the past
Edena dropped to the ground, dropping the microphone and using both hands to support herself. As she struggled to keep her gaze at the lyrics in front of her. "Why is she still singing?!" Balth asked, surprised that even at her current state, she struggled to not lose rhythm. She sang louder.
Shatter every window 'til it's all blown away (blown away)
Every brick, every board, every slamming door blown away (blown away)
'Til there's nothing left standing, nothing left of yesterday (blown away)
Every tear-soaked whiskey memory blown away,
Blown away, blown away, blown away, blown away, blown away
Finally, consciousness faded from her. The 'storm' also died down as the three friends were left hanging. Balth went up first, followed by Zatch and Leon as they watched the sky being cleared of the storm clouds. They hear the door creaking and dropping to the floor as it revealed a late Zen.
"Look who's late to the party." Leon muttered softly, but enough for Zen to hear. "Yeah, sorry. What happened here?"
"Well, we tried to entertain her, and she went nuts."
He knew what Leon meant by nuts. He carried her to his bed. "What else happened?" He asked the group. Zatch pointed at the television screen, which showed that she scored 96%. "A storm slowly appeared when she sang that."
He played the song from the start and studied the lyrics. He concluded that it was somehow connected to her. He wasn't really sure. All he knew was that something about the song must have drawn her power. He could do another research if he wasn't so tired. The group told him to get some rest while they cleaned up the room.
"Wait, did you guys tell her yet?"
A/N: Here is the chapter some of you have waited for.
