Anne's Good Luck Charm

The next morning just before school started, Stanley, who was to be turning 18-years-old that November, went downstairs to the kitchen to find Suzie making breakfast.

"Good morning, Suzie." Stanley said in a jolly voice.

"Good morning, Stanley," Suzie said, not taking her eyes off her cooking. "are you excited about school today? Today is the day of your math test after all."

"I'm hoping to pass math, if Pop sees another bad grade from me, he will ground me for sure," Stanley said. "by the way, what's for breakfast?"

"My specialty," Suzie answered Stanley. "cinnamon pancakes topped with apple sauce."

"My favorite!" Stanley exclaimed.

"I knew you'd like them," Suzie said to Stanley. "now, go wake Henry, Alan, Anne, Tom, Flip, Nancy, Mimi, and Scooter."

Stanley went to wake up the rest of his brothers & sisters.

A few minutes later, Stanley came back downstairs with Henry, Alan, Anne, Tom, Flip, Nancy, Mimi, and Scooter following behind him, Alan, Anne, and Tom all had a sleepy start to their morning this morning.

"Hey you three, open your eyes! We have to get ready for school!" Henry ordered Alan, Anne, and Tom.

Alan, Anne, and Tom quickly opened their eyes.

During breakfast, Anne slipped something into Stanley's hands.

Stanley looked in his hands and saw a small object in them, "The bat keychain that Grandpa Chan gave you when you were 6-years-old? Anne, why would you lend this to me?" he asked curiously.

"I just figured you could use some good luck today on your math test, Stanley." Anne yawned, she was still exhausted.

Tom forgot about his own sleepiness and he figured he would do something that would get on Anne's nerves.

"Hey, Cheetah," Tom said. "open your eyes!"

Anne instantly opened her eyes, "I have told you once before, Genius, nobody but Alan is allowed to call me 'Cheetah', do you follow me?" she asked Tom irritably.

"Ha! I knew that would wake you up!" Tom said to Anne.

"Thanks for your good luck charm, Anne," Stanley said. "I promise you that I will give it back to you soon."
