When Yuè came to he found himself laying on a bed with his body bandaged. He turned his head to the right and saw a shelf holding what looked to be medical supplies. "I really overdid it." he said to himself. He leaned forward to sit up a bit, then stopped when he groaned from a pain radiating from his ribs. "You should stop moving you know." said a voice coming from his left. When he turned his head he found himself face to nose with a green praying mantis. "Who are you?" the wolf asked. "The guy that dressed those injuries. Name's Mantis." he said jumping off Yuè's bed and moving to one next to it.

Curious as to his condition, Yuè once again leaned forward to sit up, a little slower this time. His midsection, left forearm, and right shoulder were all bandaged. As he inspected his injuries he felt a breeze come from under the sheets as well as a tight feeling around his right calf. Taking a look under the covers he noticed something missing, "Hey Mantis, where are my pants?" he asked blushing a little under his grey fur. "Had to lose 'em to make sure to dress all of your injuries."

Yuè groaned at this, "At least tell me the tiger did it." he asked, his embarrassment slowly rising. "Trust me. I wish she had or at least Viper." Mantis answered vaguely. Yuè's eyes flew wide, "Then who..." he asked before being cut off by a look from Mantis, "Oh..."

Yuè began to look off when he caught a glimpse of a familiar bird having their injuries treated as well. "That Crane?" he asked Mantis as he was changing the bandages on the bird's wing. "Yep. You messed him up pretty bad." he answered in a dry and angry tone. Yuè's ears folded back in remorse. He didn't want to hurt Crane, he just wanted to make sure that he was the Dragon Warrior. To make sure he could handle anything so he could assist Yuè in finding his daughter.

Yuè lifted himself out of bed and stood to the side of the bed opposite of Mantis. With a grunt and slight whine he started to limp forward. Mantis heard this and turned around only to turn back when he realized the lupine was still missing pants, "What are you doing? You should be in bed letting those wounds heal." Yuè scoffed at this and reached for a pair of purple pants resting on a table close to the end of his bed. "I've had worse than this. You undressed me, so you must've seen the scars." he said putting the pants on.

He looked around, searching the room for something, "Where's my stuff?" he asked. Mantis turned to see the wolf a little more clothed, "We locked it up for safe keeping and when you leave." This agitated Yuè. If there was anything he hated most, it was people messing with his things. With a growl he marched his way out the room through the sliding door and began to wander through several halls of the Jade Palace. After several minutes of wandering and painful limping, he found himself walking in circles, recognizing his own scent as he passed the infirmary door for the fifth time.

Finally he open the door to see Mantis still changing bandages on Crane. "Do you know where it is? Cus I'm sorta lost." he asked looking off to the side. "Go down the hall and turn right. You'll find Master Shifu's room and you can ask him." he said in a monotonous voice. Yuè left once again, following the directions and finding the room Mantis told him about.

Raising a hand, he motioned to knock on the door, only to find it opening before he could. He looked down to see a small red panda staring up at him with disapproving eyes. "Uuhh...Hi?" Yuè said in with a wry smile as he looked at the scowl on the red panda's face. "What is it you want?" he asked in a disgruntled voice. Yuè slightly cringed at the harshness in the old master voice. "Well I was just in the neighborhood and was, I don't know, looking for my stuff." he said in a snarky tone, only agitating the small red panda more. "They are locked in a safe place and will stay there until you leave." Shifu said in a stern voice.

Yuè's patience was growing thin. He scoffed at the old master, "Well I'm ready to leave now. So if you'll excuse me." he said attempting to push his way into Shifu's room only to stumble on his wounded leg and groaned in pain. Shifu chuckled, "Doesn't sound like you're ready." Yuè growled lowly at the snide remark as he stood up.

Shifu turned around to go back in his room when he beckoned Yuè to accompany him, "Come. I must speak with you." Yuè sighed, "Fine." he said as he entered the room, sliding the door closed behind him. Shifu's room was surprisingly spacious for its small inhabitant and only housed a bed, a table, and a few Kung Fu artifacts such as old scrolls and a tapestry on the wall depicting a waterfall. Yuè looked around the room both searching for where his belongings may be and admiring the décor.

Shifu sat down on a meditation mat and gestured to Yuè to take a seat as well. "Let's start with your name." he said to the canine across from him. Yuè looked at him with a confused face until realizing he hadn't told anyone his name yet, "Oh. My name's Yuè Làng. What is it you want to talk about?" he asked getting to the point. "I want to talk about you. You're a very capable warrior for what I've seen. Who's your master?" Shifu asked.

Yuè turned away, ears folded back with a saddened expression on his face, "My father." Shifu saw this and sensed that it was a touchy subject, "Well, he was clearly a good teacher." After a few moments silence fell over the room. "Look, Master Shifu, when can I get my stuff and go?" he asked, abruptly breaking the silence. "A few weeks maybe." Shifu said with a stern expression. Surprised by this quickly stood up, "A FEW WEEKS?!" he shouted before bending down to rub his leg due to straining it. "Yes a few weeks. The extent of your injuries are very severe. Your bones are either bruised or cracked. It'll take at least that long before you can go anywhere."

Yuè growled lowly at the news, "I've been run through with swords before and that hasn't stopped me!" he shouted pointing to a large scar under the bandages on his abdomen. Shifu shook his head disapprovingly, "And I'm sure it took you a while to get back on your feet. The fact of the matter is that you're injured and for your own well being I won't allow you to leave the valley." Yuè sat back down angrily, "Fine. What am I gonna do them?" he asked.

Shifu stood up and walked behind the wolf, "You'll be staying in the valley until you're better." he said turning around, "You'll be staying here, in the Jade Palace." Yuè's face lit up at this news, tail wagging rapidly. "No s***?!" he asked just before realizing his comment was out of line. He stood up, careful not to strain his leg and bowed with his eyes closed. "I mean, thank you Master Shifu." he stood up straight, "So where'll I be staying?" he asked.

Shifu turned to the door of his room and walked out. Moments later he returned with Master Viper. "Master Viper will show you to your room. But before you go, there're some rules you'll have to follow." Yuè quietly groaned, "Fine. I'm no stranger to rules." he said crossing his arms. Shifu held up a finger, counting off one, "If you want to leave the palace someone will have to accompany you." Yuè rolled his eyes at this, 'I'm not a pup. I don't need an escort.' he thought as Shifu counted off two, "No fighting." he said with a more stern expression. Finally he counted off three, "Don't eat anyone." Yuè chuckled at this rule, "Heh, no promises on that one." Shifu stared at him with a harsh look. Yuè quickly put his hands up defensively on front of him, "I'm kidding."

Shifu turned back to Master Viper, "You may show him to his room now." Viper nodded, "Yes, Master Shifu." she said turning to their guest, "Follow me." Yuè walked out the room, following his guide. After several minutes of walking they arrived at the student barracks and entered. Inside the barracks Yuè spotted a small kitchen and dining area, one he planned on visiting later that night. Viper led him down a long corridor with several doors on either side. They stopped at the fourth door to the right, "Here's your room. If you need anything my room is the second door on the way in." Yuè opened the door and saw the bare room. Inside was a single bed and a candle holder. "Great." he said in a disinterested voice, "Hey, you guys got like a bathhouse or somethin'? I could use a soak." Viper answered in a concerned voice, "We do but you really shouldn't get your bandages wet." Yuè smiled, "Don't worry I won't get 'em wet." Viper pointed toward the front door to the barracks, "It's outside around the back." Yuè bowed, "Thank you." he said as he made his way to the bathhouse.

Upon entering he looked around the large room, the air partially clouded with steam from the large pool of bathing water in the center of the room. The floor was smooth and tiled instead of being hard wood like most bathhouses. To his left he saw a changing wall made of thin rice paper. He went behind the changing wall and stripped out of his pants and removed his bandages. Upon examining his body he noticed purple spots on his arms, abdomen, and leg. "Yeah. I definitely need this." he said limping his way to the bathing area. We he got there his eyes widened when he notice a familiar orange striped tiger with her back turned, covering her front from his sight. "Well hello there." he called out, the tiger turning her head to see the nude wolf standing across the room. "Oh no." she said to herself as he entered the water.
