Chapter 3: Entrance Exam Part 1

Carlos' POV

It's been 5 months since you and your friend started training for the entrance exams. He's doing really well right now since he can take a lot more pain than he usually did since you started making him use it on different objects while he's cleaning up the beach. It also turned out that when he does it to people he'd be hurt as if he got hit by their quirk so both of you made sure to never just use it on anyone unless they know their quirks. It would be really bad if he got someone with some gigantification or strengthening quirks….. really, really bad.

"I'm home" you just came home from training earlier though you didn't feel tired. Seems like your brother's already done eating since there's a plate of your favorite food waiting for you at the living room.

"You sure you wanna go to Europe?" you turned around to see your bro, Rien, reading a…. motherfuck, is that another one of those hen-

"No, I'm not reading what you think I'm reading. I just wanna know why you wanted to go back home. Is it because dad's gonna teach there?" Rien asks slightly looking over whatever he's reading.

"Nah, just wanted to go somewhere I'm familiar with. Besides, dad won't be there often since he's a traveling hero. He's probably just there to see how I'm doing, is all." You answered him while eating some of them delicious calamari.

"Hmph, your choice. I'm still convinced that you just wanna visit dad. He's really busy nowadays since he faced him. How's this friend of yours doing? Is he still getting hurt every time he uses his quirk? I wonder what happens when he does it to me. Would he disappear or be hit with the Blood Veins?" Rien ponders while reading his…. thing.

"He's a FUCKING idiot. Turns out he forgot to tell his mother that he's going to KoVA. The motherfucker should've told her about this the fucking day I told him what school he might want to join up on. Now we don't fucking know whether she'll be in on it or not. All this hard work for the last 5 months are would be nothing with just one word."

"Well she better agree to it because it's only a week left before the entrance exams. I'll be sending you there in a jiffy. Let's just hope she agrees to this." Rien says while patting your back. Brother of the year, this guy is.

Izuku's POV

"Izuku, why are you smiling at that carrot? Should I be worried?" you heard your mom ask with worry as you get pulled out of your thoughts. Carlos called you an idiot, rightfully so, for not telling her 5 months ago.

"I guess this might be the worst time to tell her this but it's better than telling her the day before." You thought to yourself as you gave her a nervous smile. "Mom, I'm not going to UA anymore….."

She seemed shock by your statement. You're not surprised by this. "Izuku, are you sure you don't have a fever?" She asks while giving you a worried look.

"No Mom, I don't have a fever."

"But, UA is your dream school? What made you not want to go there?" You swear, your gonna give this poor woman a shortened life span if you tell her why. Carlos did say that you can't have everything without risk.

"Carlos convinced me I have a better chance at Knights of Valor Academy…."

"Knights of Valor? Sounds like it was made from a name generator from the internet. Where is it anyway? Is it up north?" your mom asks you. Well, no going back now.

"No Mom, it's far west. Really far west. It's in England in fact, and the entrance exam is a week from now. Carlos already signed us up 4 months ago and I forgot to tell you about it." well that just put the final nail down the coffin. You watch as your mom turn pale the moment you said "England".

"I-I see….. I-I'm proud your making your decisions, but why so far? Is it at least a b-boarding school? I can't believe I'm easily accepting this. How are you gonna get back here after your entrance exam? You know you still have school for another 6 months, right?" This went better than you expect. You definitely expected her to say no but you'll take this as a yes.

"W-well, Carlos' brother is gonna transport us there with his quirk. He'll be sure to get us back here once we're done so we don't have to worry about school." you told her hoping she's okay with this.

"Now, I didn't say yes" or, you'll just have to feel Carlos' wrath.

"But I didn't say no either." you thank whatever is up there when she says that.

"I don't agree you with you living far away and possibly getting hurt, but that's what heroes do and there's really no way of convincing you to stay. I'll miss you so don't forget to call me every other day when you get accepted." you can't help but give a sad smile when your mother allowed you to attend school far away from Japan. You definitely gave her a hug when she said that.

1 week later

"I was glad your mom's letting you do this entrance exam. She personally made me promise to make sure you won't get killed. She's pretty damn scary when she made me swear that promise so you better not die. Or I'll die, aight?" Carlos tells you as both of you walked up to his brother. Rien seems to writing something down his book when a portal suddenly appears in front of you.

"Thanks for the lift, bro. I'll be sure to bring you some of them fancy teas when we get back."

"Thank you, Rien…."

"Anytime, make sure you don't die okay? Well, Good Hunting."

Rien Curdo

Quirk: Book Bound

Almost anything he writes down on a book he bounds to himself would somehow exist. The quirk itself can be erased by any quirk-erasing quirk but the powers he gets from it himself won't be affected. He can only go for 5 pages before he has to burn it to get new powers. If he goes beyond that, he'll grow weak and start fading away from existence. Any attempts to warp reality itself doesn't seem to work.

You passed through the portal and saw a big castle looking building in front of you. It's bigger than any other castles you saw in you history class.

"H-hey Carlos, is this the school?" you asked, obviously intimidated with how big this castle is.

"No, that would be the battle arena for the tournament."

"T-t-tournament?!"

Carlos rolled his eyes "What? Even UA knows that some guys could use a little bit of fighting to let out some steam. Anyways, we better get goin' or we'll be late for this exam."

The school itself was pretty big but not really as big as the Battle Arena you saw earlier. It seems to look as if it was just created yesterday. Carlos seemed to look impressed by the school's structure and said "Oh, they renovated it. Huh, I guess the school needs to get all up and get a fuckin' makeover didn't it? Ya see Izu-bro, the school used to look similar to a fuckin' castle back then since this was created around the time knights became more common. It eventually evolved into one of the first hero schools since the dawn of quirks. Pretty fuckin' miraculous, aight?"

"I-I guess….." you said that when you accidentally bumped into someone just about your height. The person you bumped into seemed really unaffected by it though you couldn't help but feel bad. "S-sorry I-I b-bumped into you!" you said with a bow.

Turns out you bumped into a girl. You panicked even more. She had a long curly red hair, blue eyes, and had cute freckles. She seems to be accompanied by some much taller, blonde haired guy who looked a lot like here. You thought to yourself that they might have been related. She said in a weirdly monotone voice "It's okay….. be careful next time…. please don't bother us in the exams." And she walks away.

As she walks away the blonde guy gave both of you an apologetic smile and said "Sorry about that, lil sis can be quite…. rude and awkward sometimes. By the way, my name's Apollo, Apollo Agnas Iro and my twin sis over there is Artemis Korrina Iro. We basically try our best to not look like each other since it's hard to tell us apart other than our personalities. Who are you folks?"

"I-I'm Izuku Midoriya."

"Carlos Gerald Curdo….. yeah, I know my name looks like it's been picked out of the raffle but you gotta blame my dad for that. He's bad at names."

"Haha, well I think it seems cool. I guess you're both here for the entrance exams too, right?" Apollo asks while giving a wide grin that rivals that of All Might's. He seems to obviously be the energetic one of the twins.

"Nah man, we're here to scrub the fuckin' toilets. Of motherfuckin' course we're taking the entrance exam." ah Carlos, he never fails to impress with his sarcastic and joker side.

"Oh, feisty attitude. I like how its gonna make things more interesting when we both pass the exams right?"

Carlos gives him the finger guns and said "Right back at ya, bro."

"U-um can you please tell your sister that I'm sorry for bumping into her again?" you say while slightly freaking out over the fact that you spoke to a girl.

"Alright-y then, but seriously man, you got to have your confidence more. It looked like you were gonna die of anxiety when you're talking to my lil sis back there. Well, see ya at the tests." Apollo then leaves waving his hand as he enters the building after his sister.

"Ya know he's right, aight? Wait a minute….. you never freaked out this much when you talked to a girl before. Do you like her?" Carlos gives his shit-eating grin when he asks you that question.

"N-NO! WE J-JUST MET H-HER! I-IT'S NOT LOVE A-AT FIRST S-SIGHT, O-OKAY?! T-THIS ISN'T SOME SORT OF WEIRD FANFICTION WITH AN AUTHOR THAT JUST WRITES DOWN WHATEVER HE CAN THINK OF ON THE SPOT!" you're panicking now. You feel like your about to die until a hand touches your shoulder.

"Hey, it's okay Izu-bro. Nothing bad with a lil' crush on someone. I'll be your motherfuckin' best wingman if you need it, aight? I got your fuckin' back on this." there's no use. Carlos is entirely convinced that you have a crush on her. You walked embarrassed as you enter the building with your head down.

The exam hall seems to be filled with a hundred students from different countries here in Europe. You also seemed to find out how unlucky you are when you were assigned to sit beside Artemis and Carlos was assigned far away from you. Good thing the instructor seems to be a really good distraction that's keeping you from looking at her.

The instructor had a white long hair, a beard mustache, a top hat with two goggles that looked like clocks, black shirt, a trench coat designed with lots of clocks on them, combat gloves, pants, boots, and wearing a designer sunglasses. What really caught your eye onto him was his scythe hanging at his back. Are heroes allowed to have lethal weapons?

"Hey" You hear her monotone voice again. "I assume that this may have been a habit of yours to think loudly but please keep it down." She says quietly so to not embarrass you in front of the others taking the entrance exam.

"O-okay." She simply nods and looked back at the teacher.

The written exams went on easy for Izuku and he finished a little earlier than most of the other guys. "Times up. Pass your papers." says the clock man as he starts getting the written exam papers.

"All of you will take a 1 hour break before you take the other exams. The non-combat quirks will be separated from the combat based quirks for a different exam more fitting to them. Any questions?" nobody answered, seemingly intimidated by clock man. "Good. You may take your break. Dismissed."

Welp, part 1 of the entrance exam ends here. Again, I kinda forgot to tell ya'll that this is a semi-SYOC story so you guys PM me about some characters you want in on the story. Anyone based on a European mythological character should be a plus but you guys can go with whoever you want. I won't include any reality warpers, 'kay?

Since this is a semi-SYOC I got a few reserves just in case ya'll didn't bother giving me some but I really wanna see who you guys could come up with. We already got 3 guys and 1 girl in so about 8 more guys and 9 more girls are needed here. Surprise me.
