My friends! My friends! Double chapter release tonight! My mind is buzzing with writing tonight but sadly I do have work and must get to bed soon.
Chapter 4 A new home
"Where am I?"
Sigurd awoke with a pounding headache and blinding lights, forcing him to shut his eyes for a good two minutes before reopening them to adjust to the light. When all he saw was blurriness he blinked couple times before his vision fully cleared. The first thing he saw was a golden roof held up by large matching colored pillars. When he raised his head to see where he was he saw he was laying in a golden bed with golden sheets. An IV machine was connected to him, which thankfully wasn't gold, but white.
Was this supposed to be a hospital? What kind of hospital is all gold!?
Wait a minute...if this was a hospital…
His eyes widened upon realizing how he got here. The people he saw before he blacked out! They rescued him. Why? And who were they? He saw black wings but couldn't quite see what kind they where.
That meant it had to have been one of the winged species of the supernatural world. It couldn't have been dragons. The shapes where humanoid so that left either three questions.
Devils?
Angels?
Fallen Angels?
"Oh you're awake."
Sigurd heard a voice answer him. A female voice.
When he turned to the speaker he felt his breath hitch. Standing by his bestside was a girl the same age as him with long silver hair and aqua colored eyes. Her figure was very curvy and toned by what he could see from the tight fitting green robes she wore.
"That robe sure does bring out her eyes…" He thought as he looking her over quickly before setting sights on her face. She was blushing. She must have seen him eyeing her. How could he not? She was very pretty.
"S-Sorry about that." He said forcing himself to make eye contact with her, "It's just...I wasn't expecting to wake up to such a pretty lady."
"P-p-p-pretty lady!?" The silver haired girl squeaked, her face going even redder.
"S-Sorry I-Ah!"
His hands flew to his stomach. A searing pain shot through his body. As if he had been stabbed. From the corner of his eye he saw the blushing girl do a 360 in attitude. She had been acting shy before becoming serious.
"Lay down. You're still recovering." The girl ordered in a soft tone, "You took quite a thrashing. We were lucky to get you to the healing chamber. You might have not lasted a minute longer."
Sigurd felt a chill run down his spin. She said he wouldn't have lasted a minute longer. He...he had been that close to death? That prompted him to ask once again, "Where am I?"
The aqua colored eyed girl smiled, "I believe that is a question for my king. I'll bring him to speak with you."
He watched the girl till she left the room, leaving him alone to his thoughts.
She had just said her king. So he was in somesorta of palace. But who's exactly? He didn't recognize that girl nor her clothing. She didn't seem affiliated with any of the Biblical Factions, which he was thankful. He didn't want anything to do with those three, particularly with the Church.
Then he heard the great doors opened and he turned to see the girl return, and she wasn't alone. Three men followed beside her. First he noticed seemed to be the youngest of them. Looking to be around in his twenties with an average build. He had violet colored eyes that held a curious yet lazy look in them. His hair was black and so was his beard. His bangs however, were gold. Was that natural or did he dye them? His attire seemed like something out of an action movie; he wore a V-neck maroon long-coat with a wide, open high-collar that opened up at the hem. The long-coat also featured two black belts around the waist and four black bands on each arm, two of the bands at the wrist and the other two near the elbow. He wore grey slacks and brown shoes.
Next was a tall man, a very tall man. The tallest of the group in fact. He was middle-aged, gruff-looking and muscular. Like the golden banged man, he too had black hair, and matching beard. Though his was much wilder. His eyes looked to be shut tight but as he drew closer a tint of violet was seen within them. His skin tight suit and ragged cloak only added to the war veteran vibes Sigurd was getting from him.
Lastly was the oldest of the group. Like the silver haired girl, he wore robes, white robes with matching shoes. THe upper half of the robe was short and blue robe with gold lining on the collar, sleeves and front going all the way down to the bottom. Atop his head is decorated golden and black hat. His eyes, or rather eye,was the same of blue as his where. The left eye was covered by a gold and white monocle without the chain.
That last man with the missing eye seemed vaguely familiar but...who was he? Who were all these people?
"Good to see you're awake, Sigurd. Yes I know who you are." The elder man chuckled at the surprised reaction on the boy's face. "I take it you have many questions. Questions that will be answered. Let's start this like any conversation. Names." The one eyed man drew himself to his full height and Sigurd began to feel an aura roll off it. It was strong, wise, and almost fatherly. "I am Odin! King of Asgard!"
Sigurd felt as if he had just been paralyzed. Now he knew why this man was so familiar! He had seen his pictures in books related to the other Mythologies he had to study in the Institution. The chief-god of Europe. The leader of the Asire. One-Eyed Odin. The Alfather!
"Alfather Odin...ruler of the Aesir." He couldn't help saying. "If you're the Kind of the Norse Gods...then that means I'm in…"
"That's right! You're in Asgard now boy!"
Sigurd had been sitting up when meeting the new guest but fell back down. His heart racing a thousand miles an hour. He couldn't believe it. He was in Asgard. The home of the Norse Gods! When he had been working for the Church he was fascinated by the Norse mythology since he was named after the Norse hero Siegfried. When he told this Autumn she had secretly given him books on the other Norse Gods aside Thor who he already knew about.
Autumn...that nun had been the sweetest woman to him and now she was dead. Hopefully she'd find a peaceful place in Heaven.
"You should sit back up boy. You still have more people to meet." Odin chuckled. When Sigurd did he motioned to the black haired men. These two young lads are-"
"I've got this ya old geezer." The golden banged man replied casual while stepping forward with an outstretched hand for Sigurd to shake. "Hiya kid. I'm Azazel, Governor General of Grigori. This tough looking guy is Baraqiel, one of my generals."
Sigurd shook hands with the Governor General as Baraqiel greeted the boy with a nod. Grigori huh? Wonder what business two Fallen Angel leaders have in Asgard?
"And this…" Odin said gesturing to the silver haired girl, "is Rossweisse. A Valkyrie and my personal bodyguard."
"Rossweisse...that meant white steed in Germanic. Such a pretty name for a pretty girl." Sigurd though while looking at the girl. And she was a Valkyrie no less. No wonder she was so beautiful.
"Sigurd…" Odin said as his expression softened, "I want to apologize for not being able to help you till now. Heimdall had been watching over you since you're birth because. Well you already know why."
Sigurd looked down and watched his fists clench. "I know, Lord Odin...I have you're sons powers. Powers the Church wanted to use against the Devil's and Fallen. I knew you couldn't do anything due to these damnable rules."
Odin nodded. At least boy had learned the issues of the Supernatural world. That saved him the trouble of explaining this all to him. "Again, I truly am sorry I couldn't help you. If I did war would have erupted. But that will change. From now on Asgard will be your new home. Asgard will help you. I will help you. I will be the father you never had."
Sigurd felt tears forming in his eyes. He couldn't believe it...a new home and even more...a father! He would finally have a father! Not caring about his wounds, nor that Odin was a king, he threw himself onto the Chief-god. Embracing him in a tight hug. He could live a real life!
"Thank you...father."
Odin didn't hesitate to return the hug and rub his back. This boy had his son's powers but that didn't matter. He wouldn't love this boy just because he had Thor's powers. He would love him because he deserves love and knew he would mend both his and Frigg's hearts.
Baraqiel watched the two hug, a twinge of pain filling his heart. He missed the days when his daughter use to hug him like. He heard what happened and regretted not doing the right decision by taking to Grigori.
"Father and son huh? I think it's more like...ancestor and descendent." Azazel said with a chuckle and the glare Rossweisse shot towards him.
"That doesn't matter, Lord Azazel. This boy deserves to have a father. You didn't see what Lord Odin and Heimdall saw him go through."
"You're right I didn't. But I did see what he unleashed yesterday."
Sigurd looked to the Governor General upon hearing that. Yesterday? Had he been sleeping a whole day? When he looked to Odin, the God spoke.
"Azazel boy had come to Asgard to lend Baraqiel to me as a second personal bodyguard for some time and also to broker peace between our Factions. He heard from his spies that there are rumors floating about of plots by shadowy figures to assassinate some of the Faction leaders. Anyway, while we were discussion peace terms, I get a call from Heimdall saying something's happening with you. Upon arriving upon the Bifrost we witness the slaughter of the Siegfried Institution by you unleashing your thunder powers. It was as if Hell itself was unleashed in that building."
"I gotta say that was quite a show kid." Azazel added with a stroke of his beard. "Even more so when you obliterate the whole building. With the Institution gone all their years of research, including the DNA of the original Siegfried, and all those test tube clones are lost forever. This will severely weaken the Church's power in the ceasefire between the Biblical idea of having the God of Thunder on their side was quite a godly backfire for them. No pun intended. When we arrived there was nothing left standing. It was almost as if we had just stepped onto the remains of a battlefield or the dropping of a nuclear bomb."
"Then we spotted you rushed you back here." Rossweisse finished.
Sigurd sat quietly as he recounted what they told of his events from yesterday. He wiped the building off the face of the earth and destroyed all their research.
Good!
They deserve all of his wrath.
If he ever crossed paths with any member of the Church he'd pummel them into the dirt. If it was Siegfried…
"Sigurd." Odin said, getting the boy's attention, "Now that you're in Asgard you have the choice to chose your own name. You can still call yourself Sigurd but believe me, once everyone knows you are Thor's descendants, the people of Asgard will call you Thor."
"Thank you, Lord-I mean father. But...I don't feel I'm worthy for the name Thor just yet. When I unlocked my power I... I feel so much rage and because of what I did I'm...I'm scared to use it again in fear of hurting those I love."
Odin nodded and placed a hand upon the boy's shoulder, "To be afraid is the first step in acknowledging oneself. I will not force you to use your powers, my son. However, I, as well as Baraqiel, can help you control them. But let us worry about that later. You need to rest more before training you and you never decided if you want to change that name of your or not."
Sigurd hummed in agreement as he looked to the ceiling in thought of he should do. Sigurd was the old name of Siegfried went by but it reminded him so much of the suffering he went through at the Institution.
"I..."
He pursed his lips together trying to come up with an answer.
"I..."
End
And now Sigurd has a new home, as well as a father, and he isn't a Devil! That cliche is used so much. Plus the new god of thunder being a Devil would be stupid. Why be a Devil when you can be a god!?
Anyway here is a question for all you people.
Should he get the hammer immediately or work his way up to using it?
Till then see you next time.
