No

When it comes to love, don't take no for an answer

The spring time was always her favorite! Pretty butterflies flitted just shy of her grasp, water in the streams was fresher than ever, and the weather was nice. Yes, spring was Rin's favorite. Out of all the things spring had to offer though, flowers were what Rin loved the most!

Running through the field, Rin giggled. The sun shone brightly in the early afternoon onto a clearing full of the most beautiful daisies Rin had ever seen! Plopping herself down amidst the foliage, the small child set upon making one of the only crafts she knew how; daisy chains!

"RIN! You petulant child! Where have you run of to?! I will not allow my death to be hastened anymore by your ill behavior! RINNNNNN!"

Rin ignored Master Jaken adding more little blooms to her ring. He didn't understand her love for nature and pretty things. Twist and weave. Probably because he's not pretty! Blech. No Master Jaken was more like.. swampy water. Loud, swampy water. Tuck and knot. Lord Sesshoumaru on the other hand was just like nature! Calm, always moving, but still very, very pretty. Rin giggled holding the daisies in her hands before bringing them to her face and inhaling the soft fragrance. Smiling coyly, the child got a cunning idea.

"Here I am Master Jaken!" She took off running back toward their camp. Stopping before the imp she held the flowered chains out and plopped them over his head. "I made these for you! Rin noticed that you are angry a lot, and Rin thought it might be because you smell bad! So I found some nice smelling flowers and gave them to you!"

"W..Why you.. LITTLE HUMAN MONGR..!" In a flash, Jaken was laid out in a heap on the clearing floor, an innocent looking rock perched upon his forehead. Well that took care of the stinky AND the loud problem. Rin giggled once again turning to the direction the rock was thrown from.

"Lord Sesshoumaru! Welcome back!" Skipping in that direction, the child was greeted by none other but the demon himself.

"Hello Rin, how do you fair?" He questioned, scanning Rin over for any discrepancy.

"Rin is good Lord Sesshoumaru! Rin played with Jaken and flowers today see?" She held out the last of her chains.

"Very good Rin." Sesshoumaru watched as the small girl fidgeted where she stood, bashfully poking her toe in the dirt. Knowing there was more to be said, he pushed. "Speak your mind Rin." Rin gasped and blushed embarrassedly.

"Rin wants to know if she can put flowers on you too Lord Sesshoumaru." It was spoken so quietly that had he not had demonic hearing, Sesshoumaru might not have been able to hear. She waited for his reply nibbling her lip lightly.

Meanwhile Sesshoumaru was having a mini battle in his head. Honor and duty, Poise and Perfection.. and flowers? He was going to turn the child down but then there was a small sigh. Not from him, but from Rin. Then she did something that shocked Sesshoumaru more than losing an arm to that halfwit.

"P..please.. Father?"

With a rigid back and an odd look in his eye, the great and terrible demon Lord dropped to one knee ducking his head slightly allowing the girl to slip the chain over his head. Rin couldn't be more overjoyed! She quickly threw the flowers over his head before hugging him briefly with a tiny squeal. She escaped fast enough to Ah-Un, settling upon their back waiting. The little caravan was on its way back to the west. Sesshoumaru stopped just long enough to address one knocked out toad.

"Come Jaken, we depart. Mayhaps we will find you a spring upon the way that you might bathe properly."

And with that, they were off. Whether or not they were missing one traveler.
