Lost Chapter 3

This is completely different, I combined Chapters three and two, so please don't review and tell me I posted the chapters wrong.

Over the next few days, James, Sirius, and Lily visited Minato at St. Mungo's. Occasionally they brought Harry, but Minato always looked sad when they brought him.

On the tenth day of Minato being in St. Mungo's, the trio were stopped from leaving by a trainee healer with a lot of paperwork.

"I need you to sign these forms so we can discharge Namikaze from here." James looked at the trainee as if he had grown two heads.

The trainee sighed before explaining.

"He's driving everyone nuts. We believe he would do better in a closed setting, namely, anywhere but here." Lily nodded and grabbed the paperwork and a nearby quill.

She pulled the table next to Minato's bed over and began to fill out the documents carefully while pretending not to notice Minato's shiver and muttered "paperwork demons".

"Do I get my clothes back?" Minato asked . "Or do you expect me to leave in pajamas?" The trainee rolled his eyes and clicked his fingers.

"Twilly. Get Mr. Namikaze's clothes for me." The little elf bowed as Minato stared at it in shock. With a snap of the elf's fingers, Minato's clothes appeared at the foot of the bed.

Minato got up quickly and pulled the curtains around his bed so that he could change. When he reopened the curtains, the three had finished the big stack of paperwork and were ready for him.

"What happened to my coat?" Sirius grinned.

"Unfortunately, gone, but apparently, the ladies around here love a guy with abs." Lily smacked Sirius about the head with the large stack of paperwork. Minato sweatdropped.

"Err, maybe we should go before Lily gives Sirius a concussion?"

James nodded as Sirius ducked another swipe from Lily.

"We're taking floo travel. You know how to use it?" When Minato shook his head, Sirius sighed.

"Well, Lily can help you. I don't really know how to explain it. I learned when I was really little." They moved quickly to get out of the ward and down to the reception. As James and Sirius prepared the floo, Lily took him aside to explain what Minato needed to do.

"Got the idea?" Minato nodded. "Good."

Despite having a firm grasp on the theory, Minato still managed to fly out of the fireplace upon arrival.

He glared at a laughing Sirius as he stood up and dusted himself off.

Just as he managed to get the last of the soot, a man entered the room. Instantly, the yin chakra he had sealed within himself began reacting.

"Remy, are you okay? Remy!" Minato distantly heard Sirius calling to someone before he passed out again.

"I just don't understand what caused the two of them to react like that towards each other." James, Minato realized as memories came back in a slight rush.

Minato groaned and rolled onto his side. 'Damn Kyuubi. This is worse than the time sensei had me run up and down the monument for talking trash about his crappy books.'

James and Lily stopped talking as soon as they heard Minato groan.

"Min, you alright?" James got another groan in response.

"How are you feeling Minato?" Lily tried to assess the condition of her patient.

"Hurts, all over. Worse than time I had to run up and down the monument for insulting my sensei's 'books'." James grinned.

"He's alright Lils." Lily gave James a look of disbelief.

Minato sat up slowly and glared at James. Suddenly a cry rose from upstairs.

"Damn, I'll be right back."Lily left to go see what Harry needed.

James watched her leave before turning to Minato.

"So… Why did you collapse when Remus came in?" Minato gave him a confused look.

"Who's Remus?" James blinked.

"You mean, I haven't introduced you two yet?" Minato shook his head, wincing at the receding pain.

"Bloody hell, knew I forgot something!"

"James! Language!" Lily had just reentered the room with Harry in her arms.

Harry reached towards Minato, whom had grown to love the almost three month old.

With a grin, Harry released a burst of magic and colored his own hair yellow. Minato raised his eyebrows but took the squirming child. Once in Minato's arms, Harry sighed and started playing with Minato's hair. Lily laughed at the adorable sight.

Minato smiled sadly at the little child.

"You're very good with children, Min." James grinned while watching Harry try to eat a bit of Minato's hair.

"No Harry. I should be, James. I have a little one of my own." A few tears leaked from Minato's eyes. "He is eleven days old now. I wish I could see him again."

Lily had tears in her eyes.

"What's his name, Minato?" Minato smiled.

"We named him Naruto. His name could mean either Maelstrom or fish cake. Kush-nee-chan wanted it to mean Maelstrom. He has the same hair as me."

Lily watched Minato's eyes grow sad at the mention of Kushina, her husband's cousin.

"It's ok Min. We'll find a way for you to see him."

Minato wasn't listening, was focused solely on the little child that was now asleep on his lap, thinking about another child so far away who would be missing his parents.

Things were not nearly as peaceful back in Konoha. The Sandaime Hokage had been involved in council meetings for several hours a day every day since he had come back into power a few days prior.

Unfortunately, the council meetings were not productive. Most of them were filled with angry council members calling for the execution of one Uzumaki Naruto.

Not for the first time that day, the Sandaime wondered about whether he was doing the right thing by hiding the boy's heritage. 'Minato. What would you do in my place?' Naruto was in danger, that much was certain. Iwa would want revenge, and Naruto was too little to protect himself.

"I am sorry Naruto. I am protecting you as best as I can." Only the Anbu Guards in his office heard the whispered words of a tortured man.

"Minato." The Sandaime touched the glass on the window behind the desk. Then he sat down and began to draft a law. This law would make Naruto's heritage and his burden an SS-class secret. Naruto would be protected.
