The three new Imperial Dragons stood in a hall marbled with Deathsong Amber. Nada glared at Monstro, who smirked back, while Grona shifted uncomfortably between them. "Okay, please tell me because it's driving nuts!" She finally blurted out, "Are you angry at me, or him? Why are you staring at me so coldly?" Monstro rolled his eyes, "A little friendly rivalry scares you?! Girl, are you a soldier or not?" Before Grona could respond, a Sentinel walked up with the white gems and red berry pattern to show she directly served the queen. Grona's experienced eyes also picked up the medallion with the three Gems surrounded by a dragon tail, wings and fire; the symbol to show she was assigned to the Imperial Squad. "Please proceed to the RelicVault, it is time for you to receive your gems. Over there we will talk about the leader for the squadron." The three nodded and followed her through layers of lava, water, Gronkle Iron, etc. At the end the entered a dull room with a cocoon of thick amber and G. Iron around each gem. On a pedestal stood a male Sentinel hybrid. His hair grey, his eyes coal black. A mossy rock-like cape and a mask, covering his face. It was beautiful, an angelic face, but marred by the fact it was red. Blood-red and coal black, with its white marbled edges and patchwork unnatural. It was the Queen's direct Mouth. Monstro stepped forward, "I have decided to be made leader, the Nadder representer has been one-upped by me and will support my choice." The Mouth scowled and Nadda's heart sank, she didn't want this jerk to become the Squadron Leader. "No, mister Monstro, the Queen has decided that the one-up rule is a barbaric cheat code to winning the spot of leader. She will choose the one who proves to be most competent and capable of battle." Monstro froze and Nada could have whooped for joy as the stone eel fell off her tail, but soldiers didn't whoop. The Imperial Squad Sentinel smiled, "Let us see if they can activate the Gems." The dwarved Terrible Terror hybrids popped the gems out of the cocoons. Monstro picked up the red one, shaped like fire with two horns on top. Nada picked up hers - blue with a pointy end at the bottom and round on the top. Grona gulped and cradled hers- it was a dirty brown, shaped like the end of her tail. They waited, staring at the gems. Monstro's just sat there, but Nada's gem lifted into the air. Grona's however, was different. It circled her and gave off a dull glow. Monstro stared bewildered, "What's going on? Why are our gems getting different reactions?" The Imperial Sentinel gave him a pitying smile, "Little boy. The Dragon Relics look deep into our souls to see if the users have the true instincts of the Dragon they have been fused with. You boy, have none of your Monstrous Nightmare's instincts!" Monstro blushed and Nada felt triumph soar through her heart but the Sentinel continued, "The Nadder warrior has been trained too vigorously, she has lost all sight of her taste for chicken and the vanity that should possess her. But she is otherwise wonderfully in touch with her dragon. The best of all is Grona, she embodies the kindness and protectiveness of a Gronkle, the ability to do anything for her people if threatened. But it doesn't give a bright glow. She is unaware of her greatest weapon." Grona looked bewildered, "What is it?! Please help me perfect it!" The Sentinel shook her head sorrowfully, "We are not meant to tell you. You must find out yourself." Monstro scoffed, "Seriously? You're not gonna tell us just to increase the tension. Lame!" The Sentinel frowned in annoyance, "The best Imperial does not do just as they're told. They must know the importance of each dragon hybrid Class and Species. They must keep they're unique qualities alive even after the tough training of soldiers. Leave us now, you have one week to discover your hidden qualities."

Okay, sorry for the extra short chapter. Its just that I'm struggling right now and the next three chapters have a very specific plotline and there was no room for this. I also needed to get the rules of the Relics explained; The Relics don't work until they are wielded by a Dragon Hybrid of the species that specific relic was made for. The Hybrid must also possess the personality traits its dragon possesses. Important! I'm looking for someone who is willing to draw me a cover image for this story because I am not the best artist. If anyone feels like they want to do it please PM me. R&R and thanks for reading!
