"Someone's in a good mood! Did you finally score that big role on Broadway?" Quinn asked as the brunette stepped inside their apartment singing happily.
"Hello, sunshine. I wish but not yet." She threw her bag on the kitchen table and opened the fridge to grab a sugar free can of soda.
"I've got a date." she announced with a wide smile and sat down next to her roommate.
"Oh...kay, who's the lucky girl?"
"The girl, Quinn, the one who's been flirting with me a the coffee place. You know, tall, short blonde hair, gorgeous eyes." Rachel answered, proudly.
"Right, right. Well, I heard she's a player, you better be careful, Rae." Quinn lowered her eyes to the notepad where she was scribbling down some ideas for her creative writing class.
"Don't you know, you shouldn't listen to rumors, Q? She's a great girl, intelligent, funny-
"Uptown little rich girl, that one is not a rumor." Quinn cut her.
"I can't believe you, Quinn, you can be so judgmental! It's not a crime to be rich." Rachel rose from her seat. "Can't you just be happy for me!"
Quinn grabbed her arm before the small girl was about to storm off.
"Hey, I'm sorry. You're absolutely right. If that's what you want, then I'm sincerely happy for you." she smiled. "When's the date?"

"Is she still in there?" It's been nearly a week now!" a voice on the phone complained.
"She doesn't want to talk to anyone, I can't force her, Kurt!"
Quinn was at her kitchen counter, waiting for the water to boil to make some tea while holding her phone in one hand.
"This is getting ridiculous now, it's summer break for goodness sake. She can't stay in her room forever. How can she let that bitch make her feel this way? I'm coming over to end this!"
The blonde sighed, looking over at the closed door of her roommate's bedroom.
"All right, come on over, but please, be gentle with her, she's hurting. Yelling won't help her."
"Well, being gentle doesn't seem to be working either, is it? I saw her devil face a couple of days ago, with a bunch of her poshy friends in front of a fancy restaurant. She was having fun!" he replied.
"Yeah, well don't tell her that, no need to make her feel even more like crap."
"Fine! I'll be on my way."
Quinn hung up and decided to clean the apartment a little until Kurt's arrival, not that there was much cleaning to do. The past few days, she had started helping out at her cousin's bookstore, to save some extra bucks. When she got home, she would be alone, seeing the little singer maybe once, when she would go to the bathroom.
Quinn was at lost what to do to make her friend feel better. Rachel refused to talk about the situation and was just closing up.
Ten minutes later a long buzz announced the young man's presence.
"Hello gorgeous, I'm here now, let's get this party on."
Quinn let him,
"What are you talking about, what party?" she questioned, still holding the door.
"Any party, let's have fun! Tell you what, I'll even take her to a strip club it that's what it takes to get her out. I know that girl loves a good lap dance."
"I don't want a lap dance, Kurt, just go home!" they heard the croaked voice of Rachel coming from her bedroom.
"All right, no strip club but I'm not going anywhere." He walked through the living room to the other side and posted himself right in front of her door. " Will you at least come out, just for a little, I won't leave until you do, I have all the time I want."
Inside, Rachel was curled up on her bed, with some soft music playing in the background. She knew she hadn't been productive lately, not even a voice warm-up exercise, which was totally unlike her. She was really frustrated about this situation, constantly checking her phone, hoping Lily would answer any of the hundreds of text messages or calls. If only she could at least talk to her, things could be better, but not a single sign.
She sighed and rolled out of bed to unlock the door and immediately got back under her comforter, facing away from the door.
Kurt entered the room and sat in the small sofa next to the bed.
"So sweetie, this can go on forever. Did you even take a shower recently?" he questioned.
Way to be gentle, Quinn thought as she remained at the door frame, watching the small body of her friend, she looked to vulnerable.
"Why are you even here, why can't you just leave me alone." Rachel finally snapped.
"Because, we're your friends, that's why. We actually care and love you, unlike that skan-
"Yes!" Quinn interjected, not wanting him to start insulting Lily. Not that she did not feel the same. She just thought it wouldn't do any good to the small brunette, they should just focus on her.
"We really care about you, Rae, and hate seeing you like this." she stated.
Kurt rolled his eyes at Quinn acting too softly with the Diva, "So why don't you, just get out of bed, let's go have a coffee somewhere, it's beautiful outside. Or we can even stay here for now, well in the living room, we can watch a movie or something, and later go out for dinner."
"Fine! Let's watch a stupid movie so you two can get off my back, you're both so insufferable." Rachel sighed heavily, and sat on the edge of her bed and glared at them.
"And while you're at it, maybe comb out your hair and wash your face, you look like crap, Rach."
Quinn not so subtlety slapped the back of his head as he walked pass her to go to the living room. She smiled softly at Rachel.
"He's joking, you look beautiful as always. I'll get us some snacks. Just choose anything you'd like to watch, okay?
The small girl only nodded as the Quinn turned around to go to the kitchen.
"What?" she noticed, Kurt standing next to the counter and staring at her
"You're not as subtle as you think you are, you know blondie."
"What are you talking about?" she questioned while she searched the fridge for bottles of water.
"I may not know you that long Quinn, but the way you look at her, it's so flagrant...I recall Rach telling me you have a boyfriend though, is that right?" he rose an eyebrow.
"Shhh, lower your voice, she might hear you. And no, I don't have a boyfriend, she just thinks I have one." she whispered, making sure Rachel was out of sight.
"Uhm okay, that's just weird."
"Its complicated, just let it go, all right. Rach is my roommate and my best friend. Things are better this way. Here bring her that." she handed him the bottles.
"Suits yourself, but I can't see it being worse as the toxic relationship she was in with Lily." he stated before joining Rachel on the couch and leaving Quinn thoughtful.
An hour later, the trio was still in front of the television but sadly Rachel hadn't said a single word, her eyes were watching the screen but it was clear that her mind wasn't there. Anyone could see she was incredibly sad. The only improvement is that she wasn't pushing them away anymore and even had her head on Kurt's shoulder.
"So, later, I need to go meet Alan to get some notes I missed for a class. Maybe we can eat some place nice after?" Quinn started.
"Yes!"
"No!"
Kurt and Rachel answered at the same time.
"I'm not in the mood to go out, don't insist. You two can go have dinner if you're hungry if you want."
Kurt crossed his arms and huffed, starting to get frustrated.
"You know what, I'll grab something on my way back so we can all eat here together, it'll be better." Quinn explained, not wanting to upset Rachel even more, it was already hard to get her to speak to them.
"Thank you, Q." the brunette said gratefully.

"Well, well, what do we have here?" The snarky comment came from behind Quinn as she was washing her hands in the restaurant's bathroom, waiting to collect her food order.
The blonde closed her eyes for a couple of seconds, wishing it was her imagination playing with her, she couldn't be cursed and see 'her' every time she entered a bathroom, but unfortunately the mirror in front of her confirmed it was indeed real.
"Evans! Not a pleasure to see you as usual, what are you doing here anyway? I don't reckon this place is fancy enough for you!" she sneered, turning to face the other blonde.
"You are absolutely right, there's nothing fancy here, especially not you!" Lily laughed, eyeing Quinn up and down. " I like meddling with the proletarians sometimes though, it can be quite interesting." she answered, flashing one of her perfect fake smiles.
"Where is Rachel is she here? I haven't heard from her for a couple of hours now."
Quinn threw her a disgusted look.
"Why do you care, you broke up with her, remember? Don't hope for any more messages, she's doing so much better without you. Leave her alone, you've done enough damage like that."
" Oh really, she's doing great? Let's see." The grey-eyed girl reached into her purse and took her phone out. She fumbled for a few seconds, obviously searching for something on her screen.
"Oh, here, got this one, just this morning. Let me read it to you." She then started reading the text, which was obviously from Rachel, in a mocking, whiny tone, imitating the brunette.
"Please, I love you so much, I just want us to talk, I can't live without you Lily, please!" she pursued her lips in a self-satisfactory smirk.
"I don't know what kind of sick joke you're playing on her but you should just leave her alone." Quinn replied, clenching her jaws.
"And wouldn't you like that, huh?"Don't think I don't know what's on your mind when it comes to my girl!"
"She's not you're you're girl, I won't let you make her miserable again."
"We'll see about that! I can give her anything she wants but first she just needs a lesson and realize how a pathetic loser you are."
Quinn swallowed the lump forming in her throat and clenched her fists hard as she felt her anger rise.
"Screw you and your money, I don't need to buy people because I'm not a cold, heartless bitch like you. Just stay the hell away from Rachel, I'm warning you."
She pushed Lily against one of the stalls and stormed off without a look back.
"I'll see you soon, sweetheart." Quinn heard her laugh off before the door was slammed behind her. Fortunately her order was ready, she quickly picked the bag and left.
Quinn was fuming, she wished she could do something to keep Lily away, preferably in a way that wouldn't involve her ending up behind bars because the only thing she wanted to do whenever she saw her was to punch her to remove that smug look off her little obnoxious face.
After walking about two blocks, she slowed her pace to try and calm down and decided to send a quick text to Kurt, saying she was on her way and asking how Rachel was.
After a few seconds, her phone vibrated, signaling the reply.
Kurt- Something weird happened, you better hurry up!

"I'm here!" What, what is going on?" Quinn put the food she was holding on their kitchen table and walked to the couch where Kurt was, without even removing her jacket.
"Did she lock herself up again? Has she been crying? she questioned when she noticed Rachel wasn't in the room.
"Quinn, just breathe will you, too many questions at once."
"Just answer me, what the hell happened?" she yelled.
At the same time, the bathroom door flew open and suddenly Rachel was jumping in her arms, almost making the blonde lose her balance.
"Quinnie, you're back!"
Quinn was more and more confused with each seconds. Even more confused realizing that Rachel was no longer in sweat pants. She was now in a skimpy little green dress, her hair was tied in a high ponytail and she smelled so good. Like a hint of caramel on her smooth skin.
When Rachel let go of her, she even noticed there was a fresh touch of makeup on her face.
"Yeah...so what exactly is going on? Quinn repeated.
"Oh don't act like you don't know." the smaller girl giggled. " Lil called, she said she saw you down at Gino's." she smiled.
"Really…" Quinn frowned.
"Yes, she said how you made her realize that our fight was just stupid. She wants me to come over so she can apologize properly." Rachel stated as she turned around to look for her jacket on their coat rack.
"WHAT?!" Quinn eyes widened in stupefaction. Rachel just laughed at her expression.
"She said you would act surprised. It's okay Q, I know that talking to her must have been hard for you but I can't thank you enough."
Her jacket on, she took the blonde's hand before engulfing her in another big hug.
"I'm really grateful to have you, you are the best friend anyone could ever dream of. I love you, Q." she place a kiss on the taller girl's cheek before letting go of a still stunned Quinn.
"Alright, I'm really sorry to bail on you guys. I promise I'll make it up to you. Don't wait up for me tonight..and Kurt, I'll call you later, okay. Thanks for everything, you're a great friend too.
After a quick peck on the young man's cheek, Rachel was already closing the door behind her, leaving the other two, speechless."
Quinn ran a hand on her hair in frustration, still in disbelief about how so much had changed in such a short time.
"Seeing your face, I'm assuming the little face to face discussion you had with she-devil didn't exactly go the way she's making Rach believe."
The young writer let herself fall on the couch in a loud thump, burying her face in her hands.
"I'm sorry Q, I know how much you love her...I don't know what your plan is but you better start it really fast." he muttered, placing a sympathetic hand on her shoulder.
