Crazy how it's taking me two years to write a story…

I'm graduating this spring so it's even more difficult for me to even have the time to sit in my room and focus my energy on one story.

I really hope you guys enjoy all my stories here on this website. I love writing my stories! Problem is it takes me months and extra energy to edit it before I can post it.

Just a future note – there is some foreign dialog but the translation is in parenthesis, so they're not saying it twice.

It was close to morning in New York. The sky was slowly morphing into bright shade of blue, the moon remained high in the sky in a clear crescent shape.

Raphael and Leonardo made their way home after a not so hot rescue mission. Leonardo's spirits were downhearted, he was never used to not being able to save an innocent life. Raphael as well, but he pushed down the guilt-ridden feeling.

The cold rush of wind stung against their skin while jumping off and on across different rooftops until they found the nearest manhole to their lair.

Leonardo began to slow down his pace, he felt a sudden cold chill down his shell and not the good kind. He turned around, his eyes narrowed to scan the area, the small bit of light from the early morning didn't help enough though.

He stood and waited but saw nothing, swearing to himself that he had he sensed somebody following them, but couldn't make out what it was.

Raphael noticed Leonardo's unusual behavior and came to a halt as well.

"Hey bro, you doin' okay?" Raphael asked as he caught up to him,

"Yeah, yeah... I'm good," he said slightly distracted, Leonardo continued to examine the area looking right to left, still nothing.

The brothers then continued on for another four blocks down. Leonardo felt his senses kicking in, that same uncomfortable vibe and was now completely convinced there was something.

"Raph, I think we're being followed." Leonardo turned to him with a stern look and back at the surrounding area.

Raphael knitted his brow in confusion, he stood still to see if he sensed anything that Leonardo was feeling.

"You sure 'bout that?" Raphael didn't see or sense a thing,

"Maybe you still got leftover smog in yer eyes or somethin', Leo" Raphael half chuckled not fully believing his older brother,

Leonardo continued to look around trying to figure it out. The sun was an hour away from fully rising, only a fool would ambush them this close to broad daylight.

"Yeah maybe…" Leonardo uttered,

The brothers continued to make their way home and landed in a secluded alley way and soon found a sewer tunnel leading directly to their lair.

Before they could make their way inside, Leonardo and Raphael heard a loud bang nearby startling them. This time Leonardo didn't hesitate to unsheathe his twin katana blades ready in a fighting stance. Raphael took notice of this and did the same taking out his twin sais and prepared for any ambush of some sort.

They were in position for a few seconds but yet again, to Raphael's annoyance, saw nothing and nobody, again.

"Ugh, might've been a cat or something..."

"No, I'm sure of it this time, whoever I've been sensing is here in this alley right now."

"I think the fire fumes have gotten into your brain or something, because now you're just hallucinating. I don't see anything!'" Raphael let out an aggravated sigh immediately replaced with a scowl, and sheathed his weapons.

Leonardo wasn't fully convinced it being a cat on Raphael's part and even if he didn't see anybody he knew they were there. He kept his stance the same, and then out of the murky shadow a cloaked figure sprung from the rooftop landing near the two mutant turtles surprising them.

Leonardo swung his swords trying to slice the mysterious figure, but dodged as it was now standing a few feet away from them. The alley was still obscure enough to hide but there was a flickering street lamppost that showed enough light to see the outline of the mysterious assassin.

"What the shell!" Raphael's eyes peered at the figure that just jumped them trying to make out if it was a Foot ninja or one of the Purple Dragon punks.

Leonardo let out a low snarl holding the hilt of his swords tightly,

"Who are you?" he cried out,

The mysterious figure didn't answer. Instead it grabbed two lids from a couple of nearby trashcans and hurled them at the two. Leonardo deflected the objects using his swords with ease, but it was used as a distraction.

The figure appeared in front of Leonardo kicking him down hard to the ground. It then skillfully jumped high over him and behind Raphael, who was momentarily unarmed, kicking his back shell thrusting him down to the wet gravel landing on his front side with a thud.

Raphael growled tilting his head up to see the attacker but they wore a hood that hid its face.

Leonardo took this chance and aimed his sword at the enemy but sliced air instead, or so he thought. The attacker eluded Leonardo's sword attack, leaping a few feet away with its back facing them.

Suddenly the dark cloak it wore ripped on the side revealing the known assassin to bear green skin and a shell, much like a mutant turtle!

Leonardo and Raphael saw this but couldn't believe it. This was clearly no foot clan solider or a Purple Dragon member.

"Okay either I'm seeing another turtle like us…or I bumped my head harder than I thought" Raphael said while rubbing his head.

The other mysterious mutant turtle suddenly snapped facing them once more,

"Nǐ zěnme gǎn! (How dare you!)" it suddenly spat,

From behind their cloak it unsheathed a single, curved blade and pointed it toward the two brothers,

"Nǐ zěnme gǎn zhèyàng de wúzhī, qīngmàn wǒ de fùqīn ma? Wǒ yīnggāi bǎ nǐmen liǎ shāle tā de míngzì!" (How dare you dishonor my father with such ignorance? I should have you both slain in his name!)" Its voice sounded toxic with anger,

Yet Raphael and Leonardo stood motionless and blinked in confusion.

"Did you get any of that?" Raphael asked Leonardo in a low whisper,

"Uh, I'm not sure. But it does sound a lot like Mandarin" Leonardo paused, he recognized the language but deciphering what they said was another level.

"Sounds like angry gibberish to me," Raphael stated,

Soon enough, small rays sunlight eventually shined above the building tops, but before Raphael and Leonardo could take a moment to observe it's face the other turtle attacked them, this time with greater force. It skillfully sliced between the brothers with its strange looking sword. Leonardo and Raphael were now not only confused, but were rather amazed at this stranger's skillful precision all while throwing a few hard punches and kicks.

"Look we don't want any trouble -whoa!" Leonardo tried to reason while evading it's attack,

"Yeah Leo, that's the least this guy wants" Raphael said sarcastically, using his twin Sais' as his defense.

Raphael and the other turtle were now locked, steel against knives, both grunting trying to dominate the other in combat. Soon enough they both divided, it then threw a hard punch to Raphael square in the jaw.

He snarled as it pushed him a couple feet back, he stood up straight wiping his mouth clean.

"Alright that's it!" he yelled menacingly on the verge of already losing his temper,

The other turtle leered at the red-clad turtle, but it was growing weary as Raphael could see it breathing hard from exhaustion. Raphael however was just getting warmed up. He attacked head on slashing and dodging to tire out the other turtle which seemed to be working.

Leonardo saw his advantage while the other turtle was distracted.

He leaped forward and landed behind them round-house kicked the bottom of its legs hard enough to lose its balance. The cloaked figure tripped backwards landing head first to the ground with a thud, knocking them unconscious.

"Man, I'll admit" Raphael said while panting putting his sais away, "This dude's got some skills to break me into a cold sweat" he breathed out looking down on this other mysterious cloaked turtle,

"Is he dead?" Raphael asked with some dry humor in it,

Leonardo came closer to the body on the floor, sheathing his katana blades. He lowered himself kneeling next to the other turtle's limp body and placed a finger on its neck to see if there was a pulse.

"No, just knocked out."

Leonardo then exposed the other turtle's face by stripping its hooded cloak off revealing it to be another turtle indeed but different, very different.

Both Leonardo and Raphael took a step back rather stunned at this discovery.

Raphael took a second glance, studying it's basic features as his eyes grew wide looking at his brother then back to the other turtle.

"Wait a minute, you mean he's a she?" he shouted in disbelief,

Now that Leonardo thought back on it, its voice before sounded light and brittle enough for it to belong to a woman when she was yelling at them in a foreign language.

They knew it was a she by her petite form as this 'she' turtle had a few details on her. She was dressed in a light blue mask, just like Leonardo, only it was fashioned in a loose braid. Her now tattered cloak revealed the rest of her body wearing gear around her torso, arms and shin guards.

Leonardo also spotted fresh wounds, her knees were scarred with dry blood, both her hands was slightly scorned. He then followed a small red trail that lead up to her upper right shoulder revealing a gun shot wound.

Leonardo realized she had been fighting them, while being injured.

Not only was he appalled by her condition, he wouldn't have fought her if he knew it was this bad. He took a second glance at her body to find any more wounds, but his train of thought led to eyeing more of her physic from until he snapped himself out of his thoughts and shook his head to focus again.

"We should take her back to the lair to treat her wounds, Master Splinter also needs to see this." Leonardo said, Raphael eyes widened at the idea,

"Are you out of your mind, Leo? This…she-thing just attacked us! Now you want to take it home? For all we know she could be a spy to some freaky organization we don't know about!" Raphael argued,

"Relax Raph, she's unconscious and injured. If anything she'd be too weak to try and fight back. When she does wakes up, she'll have no choice but to tell us her side of the story and why she attacked us." Leonardo calmly explained, he picked her up and carried her as she was surprisingly light.

Raphael couldn't help but scowl while crossing his arms. He was very protective of his family and was never too keen bringing stranger's home, especially ones that tried to kill them.

"Besides, we can't just leave her here out in broad daylight with a city full of people," Leonardo added sternly looking at his brother, "Master Splinter would want to know about this at any rate."

Raphael held his gaze but then grunted in defeat, clearly still irritated with his older brother's idea.

"Alright fine, but if she starts getting' fussy with me or any of us, I'm makin' the first move." Raphael said narrowing his eyes.

Raphael moved the metal lid that led to the sewer and letting his brother in first and jumped in right after.

It was now early morning in New York, as the city started their usual hustle and bustle.

Leonardo and Raphael made their way through the sewer tunnels in awkward silence, as they were bringing along a 'guest' to their home.

"I still don't about this, Leo" Raphael kept looking back every so often at Leonardo who was carrying the unconscious she-turtle.

"Quite worrying so much," Leonardo said, checking on the she-turtle who had her eyes closed but slowly breathing, "Let's get this confusion sorted out first and Master Splinter will be the judge of the rest. But I mean c'mon, a female mutant turtle? There's got to be a story behind that!" He said feeling a tinge of anticipation,

"Tch, yeah sure whatever" Raphael not being at all impressed by her company

Though he had to admit out of all the crazy things they've been through, him and his brother happened to run into another mutant turtle in the big city was a million to one. Luckily their guest was out cold so she wouldn't distinguish the location of their home.

They finally made it to their hidden home coming into view with a seemingly ordinary brick wall. Raphael reached up and pulled a lever that looked like any rusty old pipe found in the sewer, revealing a doorway on the wall that opened the entrance to their lair.

As they entered inside the wall behind them closed.

The main living room was the first thing to see when you entered. It had hardwood tile and some carpet surrounded by brick and concrete wall. The middle of the room had a long leather beat-up couch and recliner facing a numerous televisions surrounding a huge TV.

Donatello was sitting in the kitchen table tinkering with some 'thing-a-ma-jig' and Michelangelo, for once, wasn't playing his video game and decided to watch some soap operas on the big screen television with Master Splinter.

Splinter's sensitive ears twitched sensing his sons were finally home. He rose up gently from his seat with the help of his wooden cane to greet them,

"Welcome home, my sons. How was the…" but before the aged mutant rat could finish he noticed something different.

Raphael bowed respectively to his sensei as he was in front of Leonardo holding the she-turtle still,

"Master Splinter, Leo and I are back from our patrol, and …uh" Raphael hesitated to say much after that when Leonardo came in front of his shoulder,

"We brought something, er, someone we thought you might want to see" mentioning their guest as Leonardo carefully placed her on one of their beat up old couches, peeling away the she-turtle's cloak.

Michelangelo and Donatello stopped what they were doing to see what the fuss was about and what they saw was what they least expected to see,

"Dude" Michelangelo breathed out witnessing the she-turtle soundly out cold on their couch.

"Wait, I thought there were only four of us?"

Michelangelo looked closer making sure it wasn't some freaky clone and noticed the extra turtle was smaller in size having a lighter green complexion wearing a light blue mask that looked like Leonardo's only loosely braided.

He stepped back a little at the realization, "Whoa! I didn't know there was a girl version of us!" Michelangelo exclaimed in excitement,

"This doesn't make any sense," stated Donatello observing the extra turtle, "You just happened to find her unconscious in the city? I didn't think it was possible for any more mutants in our same species, let alone them being a female!"

"Relax guys, she's a turtle not an alien," Leonardo gestured his brothers to settle down, "and to answer your question Donny, it's a long story"

Splinter then walked closer observing the strange creature on their couch,

"Master Splinter, we brought her here since she is badly injured and-"

"And after she attacked us!" Raphael yelled out angrily,

Master Splinter hummed in thought and came closer with one hand behind his back and the other brushing his long beard in thought while he examined the unconscious mutant.

"How did this all come to be, my sons?" he asked stricken with calm concern,

Leonardo began to explain everything to Splinter and his brothers, how they witnessed a fire and saved an old man but lost his life, coming across the strange mutant who suddenly attacked them speaking in some kind of Chinese language and how he knocked her into unconsciousness, accidentally.

"So you see we couldn't just leave her there in broad daylight" Leonardo finished explaining,

"I see," Splinter caressed his long beard in thought,

"Quite an astonishing being you have found my sons. Perhaps, when she awakens, she will tell us her story of how she came to attack the two of you. It is strange indeed." Splinter, like his turtle sons, has had his share of crazy familiarity from meeting intergalactic creatures to being trapped in the digital dimension.

Surely seeing a female mutant turtle was nothing to be too surprised about, right?

"For the mean time we should let her rest." Splinter said leaving it at that, turning towards the kitchen to make his morning tea, "Hmm, I wonder…" he said to himself in a low whisper.

The brothers stood around the couch where she laid,

"Donny, is she going to be alright? I checked for a pulse earlier..." Leonardo wavering standing near her, he only hoped he didn't knock her hard enough into a coma.

She looked pale but her heartbeat and breathing were steady. Donatello bent down and checked her vital signs and observed her overall condition and found the same wounds Leonardo saw.

"She looks stable from the look of things, but from what I gather it looks as if she hadn't slept in days. And you said she attacked you guys while being injured? If you'd ask me, I'd say she used up a lot of her energy just keeping awake." Donatello explained, "I'll clean and patch up her wounds no problem, but gunshot on her shoulder…well I think that might have to heal on its own." After he finished explaining, Leonardo hummed in thought and nodded.

"But really, who knew while going on patrol you guys happened to find another mutant like us" Donatello said lightheartedly, while rubbing the back of his neck,

"Yeah bros, you think she could be a clone of us? Or maybe some spy from some freaky organization?" Michelangelo went on with his impractical ideas as usual,

Leonardo looked at Raphael smirking smugly a bit at Michelangelo's answer was similar to his. Raphael just rolled his eyes, shaking his head while playfully pushing his younger brother to the side and went to the kitchen to grab a bowl of cereal for breakfast.

Donatello then left to go get the first aid kit leaving Leonardo and Michelangelo who were still near the couch looking over the unidentified she-turtle.

Leonardo couldn't help but feel a quantity of remorse for her, even if she did attack them.

He wondered why she did, and how she got injured badly, but more than anything how is it possible that there is a female mutant turtle in New York City and if there are any more like her?

"Been a long night huh bro?" Michelangelo noticed Leonardo's pensive look and patted on the back of his shell, interrupting Leonardo's train of thought,

"You have no idea."

Most cities are notorious for their extravagantly tall skyscraper buildings and vast story business structures - T.C.R.I, was no small exception for that reputation.

The corporation is abbreviated short for 'Techno Cosmic Research Institute' it is a scientific organization with a large, mysterious and imposing facility smack in the middle of Brooklyn.

Strange as it is, little is known on the on goings inside the building as only limited personal and exclusive employees were allowed. When in reality it is the headquarters of the secret fundamental base of The Foot – who have been low key for an amount of two and a half years. Their leader, The Shredder after his final battle with the turtle brothers had damaged his body greatly enough that his recovery had lasted this long up until now.

His body was in stable condition inside a large container filled with chemical induced liquid, hooked on different wires and tubs with whatever was remaining of him.

In other words, the Shredder was alive.

A tall and lean figure with jet black hair that grew up to her shoulders was walking down a hallway, Karai. Second in command of the Foot Ninja army, although she was capable of doing Shredder's dirty work this time she felt it was also smart to stay low key until their army was strong enough to arise once more, and that would be soon.

Suddenly she felt a vibrate come from a device attached to her belt and answered it by pressing a button to answer it.

That same quick and smooth voice answered,

"We have arrived inside T.C.R.I with the hostages" it said over the intercom,

"Excellent. Meet us in the eco-muta lab in five" and turned off the device.

A few minutes later, Karai walked through sliding steel doors revealing the mutant arctic fox known as Alopex, along with the team of ninjas she took, holding the unconscious mutants and the human captive. Karai was about to praise Alopex for a job well done until,

"Did you not tell me you sensed three mutants, why do I see only two and a wretched human prisoner?" her face twisted in frustration,

The white fox stood firm looking over the prisoners,

"I had only been able to track down the two mutant's scents. The other turtle was not with them." she reported, and couldn't help but shrug in reply.

Karai then flung a table full of equipment angrily and swiftly approached Alopex,

"Fool! Do you not realize we need more mutants to complete the Shredder's mutant army and that additional mutant you did not track in order to for our master's full recovery?" she spat, enraged at the passive mutant fox.

"If you had already not forgotten Alopex, for the Shredder to recover he is in need of that mutant's blood. Your job was simple. Capture any and all stray mutants that have been around the area and after weeks this is what you have to offer!"

To explain this, the process was for Shredder to be injected with that special kind of mutagen located in a creature who had the special proxy in their blood.

Karai had researched files based on the mutants that were experimented in the ecology lab ten years ago after the accident. She discovered the mutagen that was injected to only a selected few of experiments. The chemical contained a remedial synthesis, added with a super fabricated in-growth compound that would enlarge existing or missing limbs in a living organism. Meaning it was able to mix human DNA with additional animal DNA's without fail.

In a nutshell, Karai was planning on healing Shredder with in-growth super mutant-like qualities making him stronger than before.

"Thanks to you this process will be on an even more hiatus!" Karai's voice echoed through the metal walls making the fox's ears wince in discomfort. Her hard glare instilled in Alopex's widened eyes but unyielding.

"For now, seal these two mutants and rid of the human girl. We have no need for it." she turned a sharp heel and snapped her fingers for the ninja squad to escort her out, leaving Alopex to do the rest.

The story of the mutant white fox was similar to the mutants she had been hunting in the city for months. She was born as an ordinary arctic fox outside of Fairbanks, Alaska. She proved herself deadly from an early age, serving as her pack's main hunter. She was both feared and respected by all other creatures in the area, save for a polar bear, the only being she ever feared. This life continued until she was captured by a group of scientists attempting an experiment to bring other animals to human-level intelligence.

In Alopex's case, the experiment was a success, first granting her human intelligence and then a human-like body. She was rescued from the laboratory by The Shredder and became an agent of the Foot Clan, believing it gave her life a purpose again.

"This is going to be a long day…" she said pessimistically as she followed through with her orders placing the unconscious mutants in clear cages and ordered a couple foot ninjas to dispose of the human girl out of the building.

I'm writing up ideas for the next chapter, Happy 2015 guys! And hope you had an amazing holiday!
