Hi everyone, sorry this has taken a long time to update just been busy with Uni etc. This is chapter four hope you like it please review!

The following morning T.J woke up at 6:30am, his sister was still asleep. He saw the blue early morning light of autumn creeping in on the window ledge under the blinds. He sat up on the mattress and rubbed his eyes, he had half an hour to get ready and get out of the house. He felt his heart drop as he thought of going to the bathroom to have a shower after what Spinelli told him.

T.J went into the bathroom, took off his pyjamas, got in and out of the shower within a minute and a half, got dressed in record timing and ran back to his room to find his comb. His bed hair stuck up on his head like a cats fur when wet. He walked quickly down the hallway and closed his bedroom door, checking up and down the hallway for anything scary. He located his comb on his desk. He brushed his thick hair out and put his trademark red baseball cap on his head, allowing for a little tuft of hair to exit through the hole in his cap. He made sure he had his books, didn't care too much for not doing his homework properly and grabbed some money out of his change tin for lunch. His parents were downstairs eating breakfast when he got to the bottom of the stairs. 'Wow T.J you're up early what's the rush?' his father asked not looking up from the morning paper and holding his coffee.

'I've gotta meet the guys at Kelso's for breakfast. Sorry mom.' T.J said approaching the bench quickly to give her a hug and wished her a good day and then went to his father and hugged him. 'Have a good day dad.' He nodded 'You too son.' His father responded sleepily. T.J took one last look at his parents for the day and smiled…Not your average happy smile but one of uncertainty with love mixed in. He closed the door behind him and began walking down the street at exactly 7am. He looked around the quiet street, it was getting noticeably colder, and the trees had become a deeper shade of orange and cars windscreens along the streets fogged up. He got to the blue picket fence of Mr Andrew's lawn which marked the half way point of the street. He had been so busy looking around he didn't even notice Spinelli standing there.

She looked like she was sick with the flu, her hair looked like she hadn't even attempted to brush it, her mother's lipstick smudge was on her cheek and her boots were actually polished. Before T.J could say anything she cut him off 'I know I look like shit…And my boots are only polished because mum made me…' T.J nodded 'Ah.' Was all he could say.

'Teej, if that monster thing was going to get you all it has to do is walk into you…' she said grinning 'Hey I was enjoying the scenery…' T.J stated in his defence 'Save that for a Mikey discussion…' Spinelli began to say before T.J cut in 'Did you see anything this morning?'

She looked at the ground and then looked at him in the eyes 'It told me where the next body is…' she said shuddering, she actually looked pale. 'Spin, do you need to sit down?' T.J asked 'No…' her face went from having a bit of colour to going pale. 'When did it tell you?' T.J asked, looking around to make sure they themselves wouldn't be made into a meal.' 'It told me this morning…Well it didn't tell me…It wrote on the tiles near the bath 'Bassett Park…Latest meal…' she was quivering whilst saying it, T.J being the twin brother she never had did all he could do, hugged her and asked her if she wanted to find the body.

'Are you nuts Teej? Are you fucking crazy? I don't want to find some dead kid…Leave it…' Spinelli said looking at her best friend as if his marbles had fallen onto the pavement. 'No…It's just…If that happened to me, you, or one of the guys...Wouldn't you want them to be found?' she looked into his blue eyes with her brown eyes and nodded 'You're right I would…Imagine how the parents must be…' Spinelli began, T.J put his arm over his best friends shoulder 'Don't worry, I'll be there with you. It's two blocks over, we'll ring the cops from a pay phone.' T.J suggested and this made her feel a bit better 'It's still fucked up…I don't know if I can handle it…' 'I don't think even cops can…' T.J admitted and so the two friends walked the two blocks to Bassett Park.

They didn't talk much on the way, mostly just looking over their shoulders and in front of them, in cars and even in people's front yards. 'God its cold…' T.J said 'You're telling me…' Spinelli said actually wishing she had jeans on. They got to the entrance of Bassett Park 'Parks always creep me out when they're deserted…' Spinelli admitted, T.J looked at her 'You know Spin, when push comes to shove you're not as tough as you think…' T.J expected a nice punch in the arm but, instead all he got from her was a quiet nod and her saying 'You're right…I'm only tough when I'm confident. But, this I'm genuinely scared about…Are you scared Teej?' she asked. She looked him in the eyes, studying his face and T.J knew she would be able to pick if she lied.

'You know it…' he replied and they walked along the path together. 'I have a feeling it's near the pond…' Spinelli said. T.J nodded and they walked onto the mushy grass that was covered in dew. They slowly approached the pond, making sure no one was behind to push them into the pond. 'emIn the shrubs…' /ema blood curdling voice said that made the hairs on the back of their necks stand on end. 'Did you hear that?' they both asked in unison. The more they thought about what they were going to find the fainter they felt.

They pulled away the shrubs as if hypnotised to do so and Spinelli went to scream but, nothing came out, not even a squeak. She had put her hand on the dead hand of a child and she froze. T.J froze, but was able to move his hand to her hand and take it off the dead child's hand. T.J noticed a few fingers were missing, and that the skin was purple. T.J moved back slowly, pulling Spinelli's arm away from the body and the shrubs. Her facial expression hadn't changed, T.J tried clicking in front of her face, shaking her and yelling at her.

She was just stunned completely. 'Oh man…What do I do…?' T.J asked himself panicking. He was ten years old what would he know about shock treatment?

He got his water bottle from his bag and threw it on her face. She finally snapped out of it 'Spinelli? Spin?' he asked hesitantly 'What the fuck was that…?' she asked calmly. 'A dead body…Spin are you okay?' 'Yeah…Just fine…' T.J was terrified, he wasn't sure if she was tranced or what. 'C'mon let's get out of here…' T.J said pulling her up from the grass. He turned around to walk on, not letting go over his best friends arm…

That was until they saw the clown. He had a silver jump suit on like tin foil and it had orange pom poms down the front…Spinelli eyed his sharp blood stained teeth and then looked at the ground and saw that he had no feet. The clown seemed to be laughing, his massive grin taking up most of his face.

'Go? Without a balloon…?' he said offering his arm out to the two children. T.J felt himself freeze 'T.J…' Spinelli's voice sounded far away… 'C'mon bucko, it's red your favourite colour…You know you want one…It's made from the skin of children!' T.J felt himself moving but, he thought he was staying still, he felt his grip on Spinelli's arm falter.

He began to zone out then felt a yank on his arm 'T.J! Run! Let's go!' T.J felt his legs moving (this time away from the clown), his backpack bouncing on his back and the laughter of the clown in the distance. They ran out of the park still in shock and confused, but were on a mission to get as far away as possible from the clown. They ran towards Mikey's street and slammed right into their friends. Spinelli and T.J almost fell backwards but, gained their balance. They were exhausted 'Um…Are you two okay?' Vince asked observing their pale and blank expressions. 'Dead…Kid…' Spinelli managed to say before sitting on the grass to cry. T.J still dazed and confused looked at his best friend and was actually glad she had emotion now.

T.J and Spinelli could both feel the stamp patches on their knees from when they were on the grass before they began running, this made them feel even more sick.

'What is she talking about Teej?' Gus asked kneeling beside her to comfort her with Gretchen. 'We found the dead kid…' T.J began 'The c-c-c-clown wanted to take us too…' T.J said dropping to his knees and began crying as well.

'Any explanations Gretch?' Mikey asked 'From what I know about psychological reactions I'd say they are in shock…' she pulled Galileo out of her backpack. 'We need your help Galileo.' Gretchen stated to her robotic companion 'Sure Gretchen, what seems to be the problem?' Galileo asked, so she explained their current situation 'It appears T.J and Spinelli are experiencing shock due to severe trauma.' Galileo stated.

Gretchen, Mikey, Gus and Vince stared at T.J and Spinelli then looked to the mini computer. 'What would cause severe trauma?' Gus asked 'Well from what you've told me and all of these murders that have been happening. I'd say it definitely has to do with something they've found, mostly as they said a dead body. Take them to a store and buy them a sugary sweet of some description…Ask them to write it down. Try to comfort them, I'm afraid that's the best you can do.' The frog character inside the hand held computer had more emotion on his face than T.J or Spinelli, they looked petrified.

'Thanks Galileo.' Gretchen said before putting the computer back into her bag. 'C'mon guys, let's take them to Kelso's and get Kelso to report what they found to the police.' They all nodded, helped T.J and Spinelli off the sidewalk grass and walked to Kelso's. Mr Kelso watched cautiously as they sat down, Gus went over to the counter. 'Mister Kelso is it okay if we get a few bacon and egg rolls to go and a few chocolate bars.' Mister Kelso nodded 'How much is a few?' 'Six and six.'

Mr Kelso's moustache tilted on his lip, he put both elbows on the glass counter and tried to get as close to Gus' level as possible 'Alright…Gus, is there something else you need to tell me?' he said glancing over at Gus' friends. Gus could never tell a lie…He stole from Mr Kelso once and he didn't want to do so again.

He looked at his friends then back up at Mr Kelso 'I'd like to make a call to the cops…' Mister Kelso's face went pale 'They found another kid didn't they…?' Gus nodded 'Where?' 'Bassett Park…' Kelso nodded, his wife bought in the rolls and allowed him to pick the chocolate bars off the front counter. Gus could tell by the concern on Mr Kelso's face that he had had to do this before.

'You guys better get to school, it's 8am.' Mrs Kelso said, she was a plump woman but very kind hearted 'It's okay, class doesn't start till 8:30.' Mrs Kelso nodded 'Be careful.'

Mr Kelso finally got someone to pick up the phone down at the police station 'Hi, I'd like to report a body that was found at Bassett Park by two local school children…Their fingerprints may be in the same area so you may want to come down to Third Street School later and ask for a Spinelli and Detweiller…Thank you…' he hung up the phone 'See you later kids, be careful…' the six shuffled out of the store and weren't looking forward to school or being the next possible victims.

Spinelli and T.J still felt sick. 'Guys, maybe you should go to the nurse's office.' Vince suggested. 'Maybe.' They both agreed. Vince knew they wouldn't, Spinelli and T.J were tough, but he knew as well as anybody that they could crumble and when they did it was hard.

-At school 9:30am—

The morning started off slowly in Miss Finster's class, she called the role and began on teaching her students area and volume. T.J and Spinelli's minds were elsewhere, their stomachs turning, their mouths dry and their eyes mirroring what they had seen. Miss Finster asked both of them if they were having trouble with the math but, even she could tell they were distracted by something.

Their thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door, Miss Lemon a woman with more wrinkles than an elephants backside walked in and pointed a long bony finger at Spinelli and T.J 'I need T.J and Ashley.' She used their first names, they knew this was serious. 'Sure, Spinelli, Detweiller go ahead.' Miss Finster grumbled as she tried to help Randall overcome a problem.

They got up together and walked together, Gus took one look at the grave look on their faces and knew they were thinking the same thing 'The cops are here…' Gus gulped and looked over at Gretchen who was busy on her extension work. Gretchen looked over at Gus 'They'll be okay…' she said trying to convince herself 'I hope…' said Vince who was sitting behind her.

Spinelli and T.J walked into the office 'Well sit down, they're still talking to Principal Prickly.' Miss Lemon said bitterly 'They?' they both said gulping. Prickly's door burst open and two detectives were standing there 'We just had a few questions for you two.' The taller of the two said, they were just like from the gangster movies. Long trench coats and grey hats with glasses, they looked cool. But, by the looks on their faces T.J could tell they were just two guys trying to do the best they could to solve cases. 'C-can we be interviewed together?' T.J asked hesitantly 'Of course.' They both said smiling.

They went into the conference room opposite Miss Lemon's desk and they left the door open 'I'm detective Morgan.' The blonde headed one said shaking Spinelli and T.J's hand 'We know you both found a body this morning…' Detective Morgan looked at Spinelli eyeing the door nervously 'Does this bother you?' he asked trying to be more helpful 'Yeah…Can you close it please?' The taller brown haired detective got up and closed the door. 'Oh, sorry kids I'm detective Jacobs.' He shook their hands.

'So we heard you found a body in Basset Park.' Detective Morgan said sympathetically 'I can't believe you two still went to school after that…You're both very brave.' 'Yeah…' Spinelli said vaguely, staring at a spot on the table 'We aren't going to ask you two any hard questions. We just want to know if you know the boy who was murdered?' they both looked at the detectives and shook their heads. 'What made you go to Bassett park this morning?' Detective Jacobs asked.

T.J and Spinelli looked at each other and knew they couldn't tell them the truth otherwise they would come off as completely insane. 'Well, we heard they put in new fish at the park and we wanted to go and look at them. Mum told me they were bigger than a ruler.' T.J stated, as this was true he thought it seemed more plausible then a clown told Spinelli about it.

'Did you see anyone suspicious when you walked into the park or approached the pond?' Detective Morgan asked 'No, no one was around.' Spinelli stated looking blankly at the wall trying to distract her thoughts. 'I didn't see anyone either.' T.J said trying to stop his legs from shaking. 'You two are both very brave, I know it's a horrific thing. If you want a counsellor we can get you one.' Detective Morgan said 'No thanks…I just want to go home.' Spinelli said and T.J put his arm around her 'I'd like to go home too.'

The two detectives nodded 'We've given a rundown of information to your principal who will pass this information on to your parents. Stay safe, stay in a group if you're out alone and if you need to talk about anything you did find odd or any possible clues or anything like that just get your parents to give us a call.' Detective Jacobs said looking at the two fifth graders, he knew any thoughts of good in the world were completely smashed in their minds.

Spinelli and T.J stood up and followed the two detectives out without another word as they creaked open the door Spinelli and T.J saw their very worried parents.

'Oh you poor dears…' Mrs Detweiller said kneeling down to give her son a big hug. 'Oh pookie, we'll take you home and you can have any food you want for dinner.' Flo said to her daughter 'Oddly enough…' T.J began 'I don't feel like eating…' Spinelli looked at him 'I agree with Teej, this is messed up. How can we eat after seeing that?' both sets of parents stared at their children 'We're sorry…We'll take you home…' Mr Detweiller said thankful that it wasn't his child that was the victim. 'I can't imagine how all of these children's parents feel…' they approached Miss Lemon's desk and signed their children out before parting ways to head home.

On the way home T.J knew that his parents were only quiet because they had no idea what on Earth to say or talk about. His mother and father both tried to comfort him the best they could and even bought him his own tub of ice cream. T.J's parents had discussed him seeing a councillor but T.J insisted he didn't need one. Instead he looked out the window and tried to imagine how life was before a maniac went around killing children.
