Joan held her stomach as she walked up the stairs, following the rest of the Hufflepuffs to their dorms. She ate too much, her stomach started to hurt a little. She also felt like she was walking in thick sand, she could tell that Nicolas felt the same way as he had trouble keeping up with her.

Then, out of nowhere, the stair case jerked forward causing her to clutch onto the railing for dear life.

"Oh, right, I knew I was forgetting something!" A prefect yelled.

"let me guess, the staircases change directions from time to time?!" Nicolas yelled, Joan couldn't help but notice the fact that his voice was very high pitched at the moment.

"Yes." Was all the prefect said.

Once the staircase stopped they continued to walk. Joan kept her hand on the railing at all times.

"Alright, here we are." The prefect said. He was standing in front of picture. Joan wanted to ask if he was serious, then she just remembered that the stair cased moved and Nicholas was attacked by a ghost earlier. She didn't doubt this guy, she just didn't know what to think at the moment.

"Password?" a voice asked, Joan stood on her toes, looking up the best she could. It was the portrait that asked the question! She almost fell back in slight shock. Luckily Nicolas put a hand on her back stopping her.

"This is just too freaky." Joan breathed out.

"Mandrake." The prefect answered and then the portrait swung open.

"Now, remember that this is where the Hufflepuff common room is, and please do not forget the password." The prefect said walking inside the giant hole in the wall.

"I can hardly remember what shoe goes on which foot, how can I remember all this?..." Joan asked, mainly to herself, trying her best to take it all in all at once. She walked though the hole. She found herself in a spacious room, plushy chairs and couches surrounded a fire, there were a few tables as well. The fire crackled loudly and made the room feel nice and warm.

"Alright, the boy's dorm are to the left and the girls dorms are to the right." The prefect said pointing to each side. Joan rubbed her eyes and just wanted this to be done, all she wanted to do was curl up in a ball and just sleep. Still, the prefect continued to speak. She could tell that she wasn't the only one dead asleep on her feet. A couple of girls were leaning against each other, the other's head on the other's shoulder, snoring away.

"Ok, I can see a few of you are tired. So, lets call it a night, I expect to see you all up and ready in the morning, don't forget that you get your schedules in the great hall in the morning as well." The prefect announced and with that, everyone walked towards the dorms. Joan saw someone bump into the sleeping girls and they fell forward on the ground, rudely awakened from their slumber. Joan would of laughed loudly, but she was too tired to care at the moment.

She walked into the girls dorm room, there where beds up against the wall, at the end of each bed there was a name engraved in the footboard was the person's last name and luggage. Without wasting anytime, Joan found her bed and just plopped down she didn't feel like changing out of her clothes. She do it in the morning, it wasn't like sleeping in her normal clothes was going kill her. The most Joan did was just kick off her shoes and she wiggled under the covers. She placed her head down on the soft pillow. Then, she blacked out, no dreams, nothing, just pure sleep. At the moment, that was the greatest thing.

Ok short chapter is short, I'm sorry, don't worry next chapter will be longer I promise.
