Talia and Ethan walked together, one hand holding a cup of fresh coffee, the other holding both their hands together. Talia couldn't stop smiling from ear to ear as the uneven sidewalk made walking more complicated than usual. But, neither of them cared. They were together, and that's all that mattered to them.
"Hey, E?" Talia looked over at the small teenager next to her.
"Yeah?" Ethan smiled his adorable lopsided grin.
"Thanks."
"For what?" Ethan's smile expanded slightly.
"Being there for me. Not giving up on me," She smiled and rested her head on his shoulder.
"You know I'd never give up on you," Ethan smiled at her.
"I know. But thanks anyway. It really means a lot to me," She grinned, not knowing how she could be any happier.
"Um, Talia? Ethan?" A female voice materialized behind the two of them. They turned in slight fear, Talia's fangs ready in case she needed them. She sighed in relaxation when she saw it was just Lucy.
"Hey, Lucy," Talia smiled, letting her fangs retract, "What's up?"
"I just... have something I need to do, that's all," Lucy seemed nervous, but Talia and Ethan seemed oblivious.
"What's up, Luce?" Ethan smiled slightly.
"I'm so sorry," Lucy looked like she was on the verge of tears when she walked over, tapping Ethan on the forehead, causing him to collapse onto the ground.
"Ethan?!" Talia bent down, shaking her unconscious boyfriend, then looking back up at Lucy, "What the hell was that?! What are you?!"
"I said I was sorry," Lucy sighed, "I never wanted it to come to this."
"Then why did you do it?" Talia stood up, her fangs starting to grow.
"I had to. My mother insisted," Lucy looked down, obviously ashamed.
"Then wake him up!" Talia barked, making sure her fangs were revealed.
"I can't. I'm sorry," Lucy bent down, touching his forehead once more, causing Ethan to disappear into thin air.
"Bring. Him. Back!" Talia insisted.
"I told you, I can't," Lucy sighed, stepping closer to Talia.
"You're not sending me with him!" Talia screamed.
"You're right, I'm not. Mother only needs one person at the moment."
"I'll get help. Benny, or Sarah, or even Rory! One of them will find you and get Ethan back!"
"I'm afraid I can't let you do that," Lucy took another step forward, tapping Talia on the forehead. She blinked, then smiled at Lucy.
"Oh, hey Lucy. What's up?"
"Uh, nothing," Lucy put on her best fake smile, "Just out for a walk."
Talia looked down at her watch, "Crap, I have to get home. Benny's gonna kill me, and if he doesn't, Grandma will. See you around?"
"Yeah, totally," Lucy smiled as Talia walked away, disappearing as soon as she was out of sight.
In an old warehouse...
Lucy, her mother, and Jesse stood over Ethan, who still laid unconscious before them.
"Can you do it?" Mother turned to Jesse.
"It would be my pleasure," The vampire smirked.
"Just... try not to hurt him too badly, okay?" Lucy bit her lip, concerned for the small seer.
"Daughter, why are you concerned for the safety of this filth?" Mother said in disgust.
"He's just... so innocent."
"No he isn't!" Jesse screamed, but backed off when he saw tears in Lucy's eyes. Much calmer, he added, "I'm sorry for screaming, but he's cost me a lot. It's time for me to get my revenge."
"Alright..." Lucy looked down, "Just... try to be careful, okay? We don't want the body damaged, and I don't want the soul hurt either."
"You have my word," Jesse smirked as he strode over to Ethan, Cubile Animus in hand.
AN: So sorry it took so long to update! I've been so busy with school and theater and uggggh. It also doesn't help that I've had the biggest case of Writer's Block I've ever had. But I'll try to update way more often!
