After so many months, we finally arrived on Corneria. We were greeted with cheers and gifts. But as I entered the scene the Cornerians stopped cheering and looked on. This happened just like in my timeline. So I guess nothing has changed here at least. General Pepper, most likely knew of my arrival. His questions concerning the battle with the Venomian cruiser intrigued him. I was happy to share information with him and many more. It took us quite a while as I discussed the latest events that transpired within the battle. Explaining the cruisers weak points while addressing their strengths. After the discussion it was time to head to my own house that was provided for me. Unlike others I enjoyed living alone. Research was everything to me when it came to analyzing data. This meant building new programs to analyze data that I never got the chance too. This also meant scanning the different maps that the Cornerians had. Using it's data to understand weakness of terrain and strengths of territory that would benefit us in battle. But most of all. Creating a personal assistant that would help me with my research.
Life in Corneria was very different from Earth, you know longer had cars that drove on roads but hover vehicles that flew through the air. There were different levels to land on concerning houses as they were stacked upon each other with their own landing area. I had gotten used to this lifestyle when I lived here in my timeline for over 9 years. I also enjoyed the company of my wife back then who was fully supportive of my goals in my research. However, today in this current timeline. I was alone. But I was happy knowing that Fay had taken a liking to me. Looking through the papers that General Pepper provided for me. I saw battles that took place before my arrival. I was no war genius strategist. But like with any war game that i've played. The formations used by the Cornerians against the Venomians lacked the basic understanding of why formations were used in the first place. To put into perspective, think about a game you are most familiar with. Chess. The openings moves are said to be the most important. Those are the moves that set up your formation. And you'll be left throughout the game with a bad formation. I created a simulation that would simulate these battles and would allow interaction, allowing researchers to try different formations and allowing the program to determine their win rate against such a formation. The good news to this was. The Venomians didn't know of my existence. So changing our strategy of attack would be unexpected to them. However, if this timeline was on the same path as mine. Then most likely Andross was the one pulling the strings. There was no way to prove such a theory unless going to Venom and knocking on his door was a sensible option.
As night fell, I submitted my thesis to General Pepper and called it a night. I slumped to my bed, unable to think as I drifted off to sleep instantly. The Cornerians were definitely not the best strategists. There were mistakes that showed pointless moves against the enemy. Like a novice playing Chess for the first time. But, with my thesis submitted to General Pepper, it was only a matter of time before they understanding of military warfare would reach new levels of understanding. The next day, Fay had plans to go out with some friends. She gave me a call asking if I wanted to come along. I thought it was a great idea. Since it was getting cramped with all these papers everywhere. We all met up at the shopping district which was located at the north side of the city. The shops were huge and had many things to sell ranging from clothes to gadgets and toys. I looked at the girls as they came with Fay meeting me at the desired location. They were both Foxes with brown and white fur. Their names were Liz, the white fox. And chloe, the brown fox. We set out to enjoy ourselves. Or rather them, since I was probably called to carry their luggage around. How typical. But in all honesty, I was happy to be around Fay, she looked beautiful in her dress. Our first stop, was the clothes store. Going in, there were many fashion choices. The girls began looking into the sections with all the skimpy outfits. Fay picked one up which was very revealing. She turned to me and winked, and I knew why. Damn she comes on hard. But seriously, it made me uncomfortable seeing the other customers stare at me within the store. Fay grabbed me as she pulled me in front of the dresser.
"No peeking." She said.
I scoffed playfully, But I wondered why she was being aggressive today. Did something happen?
"I won't" i said.
They exited the dresser dressed in their skimpy outfits.
"Well, how do I look?" Fay said.
"Like beautiful rose." I said.
She blushed from the compliment and her friends didn't help as they teased her childishly. I smiled at her embarrassed look.
"L... Let's go and buy these." She said
They went to the counter. And I waited outside. Today was a good day. And who knows. I could very well start a new life here. As the girls came out of the store we went to a restaurant to get a bite to eat. Fay's friends sat on the opposite side of the table while Fay sat next to me, her tail wrapping around my leg. I hadn't felt that affection for a long time. I actually welcomed it as our food arrived and we began eating.
"so tell us Fay, is this human your boyfriend?" Liz said.
Fay blushed slightly but leaned into placing her hand on my chest while nodding slightly. The two girls did a 'oooooh' amused response. I looked down at her as he looked up at me, then laying her head on my shoulder. I placed a hand on hers which were on my chest and gently held it tightly. But our affection ended abruptly as my phone rang. She grunted, hating that device from ruining our time together, and i chuckled at her pouthing. I wrapped my arms around her shoulders and kissed her ear. She joled slight from the touch but then settled..
'I'll make it up to you." I said.
"You'd better, I won't let you go ever again." she siad.
Stepping outside of the restaurant and looking at my phone. The call was indeed from General Pepper.
"We've lost one of our satellites that circled around Venom. We have no way of knowing what is going on in that area. We'll need to to scout it for us and analyze what you can. Will you do it?" Pepper said.
"No worries General. I've got this." I said.
No doubt this was pointing to my theory of Andross pulling the strings. However, Fay would not be pleased with this decision. Remembering back to my timeline. She was put in danger multiple times because of that incident. I never wanted something like that to happen again. So I explained to Fay and her friends I had to leave while keeping secret the reason why. Knowing that if she knew. She'd force me to take her along.
