Drabble #4

Authors note: I AM NOT DEAD…. I've been on an unexpected hiatus. I am working on chapter 4 for flashbacks and a chapter for Without you. Gawdddd I am sorry.

Don't even think I can explain everything so just going to let you read. *hoping my writings improved* - probably not.

This drabble I wrote in September in my English book and have decided to make it longer and adapt it into fanfiction because that was what I was going to do but I was told I wasn't allowed to….

The petite girl sat crumpled at the edge of the lake. Loose strands of her untameable auburn hair catching in the warm breeze, encasing her face. Every so often her small wrist snapped back, releasing a smooth pebble which continued to skip daintily across the water, before dying and sinking into the dirty depths of the cool water. Colourful birds chirped happily, hidden in the vast amount of leaves. Contrasting her emotions. She scanned the boundaries of her seemingly closed of surroundings for any signs of life, but found none. Sighing deeply she lay back against the soft blanket of mossy grass, staring up at the clouds lit by then early morning sun; her gaze lingered on a single cloud, tracking its slow but sure progress across the sky, mind wondering why that specific one held her eyes captive. Nearby a small family of swans swam across the delicate surface of the water.

A rustling in the bushes sent red alerts flashing around her sleepy head. Her torso twisted in an attempt to find the source, fingers poised over her wand ready to attack.

A man.

Tall, gangly and awkward stumbled clumsily out of the dark overgrowth; branches snatching at his ragged clothing. She let out the breath she hadn't realised she's been holding. Cautiously she patted the green spot next to her and lay back down once again falling into the deep pit of her thoughts.

" 'Mione?" he whispered into her ear, laying silently down next to her. He brushed the strands swiftly away from her face as she slowly turned to face him.
"urmmph?" she responded without opening her eyes.

He pulled her slim frame closer to his.

"I love you."
