"... so she has always been like that?" El, shortened from Elizabeth, nobbed her head after taking sip from teacup she was holding. "Yes, Rose has been that, how would you say it?, interesting person from the first time we met. Which, by the way, was not my best day."

Roze blinked as their companion scowl, for the little time they had been talking, she wouldn't use very much emotions. Sure, she would grin, laugh and frown, but only as facade. A pleasant facade, I might say, those ones you use when you aren't fully into what other person says but you still listen because it's a good thing to do.

"How so?" Roze asked from polite girl who shaked her head.

"I can only say that I was kidnapped and she saved me, for now. But I can assure you, there is a lot that you don't want to know." She turned her attention away from taller girl, to look at huge metal suit that seemed to shift from one side to other, as if it was uncomfortable.

'Funny to think that something dead like an armor would feel unpleasant but that is the only thing that can describe that.' El thought before small meow was heard from the armor. She blinked with other female before giggled.

"A kitten? How did you get a kitten inside of you, Mr. Armor?" Metal hand waved in dismissing manner as boy's voice came from metal. "You can call me Al, Mr. Armor sounds so formal..." Voice trailed away as another meow came, this time from chest plate.

Metal suit blushed, how he did that is mystery, before opened his suit to allow small kitten walk over the table, almost dropping over the edge as it stumbled but El catched it before tiny animal touched the ground.

She placed it gently to her lap, softly petting its fluffy body as she babytalked to little cat.

"Oh, how cute you are! Your all fluffy and tiny and adorable and I just want to hug you!" She exclaimed, lifting small cat up, almost doing what she said but frowned and sat kitten gently back to table.

"But I can't..." She sighed, looking at confused cat with longiness in her eyes.

"If I hugged you, Rose will know it and she will get mad at you." She glanced at said female, who was showing her tongue at angry Ed who was looking at his enemy with hatred, trying to catch michiveous female so that he could show just what this 'brat' could do.

"Oh come on, blondie. Is that all you got? I could have killed you many times already!" Ed growled at clearly amused girl, who right now was just playing with him.

Truth to be told, she was good. Everytime he would come close to hitting her, she would bend, stretch or other ways move out of way with air of casulaty around her, like she was just warming her muscles. And if he did land a hit, she would just bounce up like it was nothing.

But what really angered him was her grin that was seemingly tattoeed on her mouth.

Not once as they had started their fight had she frowned, scowled or furrowed her brows, just smiled like cat who had just aten a bird. A bird that had a size of a whale.

He raced again towards her, his spear forming from his hand, ready to penerate her with metaled head as she ran past him, his front hair slightly swaying as she went close to him.

He turned around, already trying to charge at her when he sneezed with his enemy. Slowly their head turned towards picnic table with two of its user staring or showing at two fighters with nervousness clear at their demur.

"El." "Al." Said persons flinched little at cold voice their respective friend was using, both metallic and human hands slowly going to hide the confussed kitten from their partners.

"What have I said about cats?" Elizabeth and Alphonse shared an helpless look to each others before tryed to save kittens life.

"But it's so cute." "And fluffy." "And it never done anything wrong." "And I just wanted to..." They said at same time but Rose and Edward both barked out at same time. "No. Get rid of the cat."

Roze, at sidelines, sweatdroped at four, she has never met so... weird persons in her life.

El had small tears forming in her eyes and started sniffling, trying to get cute points from her companion who just looked blankly at her, one hand holding her nose ruining the look.

"But Rose, that kitten hasn't done anything to you..." Visible eye twitched little before her normal smirk came back. "Oh sure, that cat may not have done anything, so why should I be angry..." El nodded her head in agreement, not hearing slight edge at Rose's voice. "At the fucking reason I will die if I touch it!"

Elizabeth lowered her head in shame, she knew about it, but she just adored cats. It wasn't her fault that Rose couldn't stand them. "I just..." "was about to kick the kitten before going to shower all hair that I got from cat away, that's what you are going to do."

El's eyes widened in horror and she hugged kitten close to her. "No! I would never kick a kitten!" Rose rolled her eye before grinding as stepped towards tea table.

"Well then, allow me..." She slapped at El's hands, forcing her to lose hold of cat, fortunally the feline landed on table before lifting said table and throwing it out of the window. She turned around clapping her hands from imaginary dust to see still sitting trios mouth open in horror.

"Said I will do it, princess." Her grin spoke arrogance as she looked at wide eyes El, but turn her head as shout from other end of the hall was heard. "I heard something from here!"

Quickly snatching El at backside of her dress, she jumped over sill of broken window and giving her guide before jumping out from building, El's scream following their travel as they disappeared from trios view. "If I were you, I would move."

Ed, Al and Roze blinked at couples sudden hurry before they realized they still had soldiers at their heels. Al took Roze as Ed already ran, shouting for them to be quicker as some guards found them.

Rose stopped after awhile, tiring to jumping from a roof to another, and dropped herself and unmoving El at some dead end she had spotted. Fortunally nobody was at hearing range as El yelled, not expecting for sudden drop of height.

Rose didn't seem faced at scream, uncarinly dropping girl to ground, getting shout of pain, to lean on some dirty wall that hadn't been cleaned since it's was builded.

"What was that for?" El asked as she stood up, dusting her botom from any materials of ground. One blue eye watched with no interest as smaller girl pouted, her grin growing a notch as she, instead of answering, asked back. "What was that cat thing for?"

Elizabeth looked to her right, she wouldn't give Rose the pleassure to see her blush, as she poked her fingers. "W-well, I-I just..." Rose's eyebrow rose as she gave amused look at polite girl, giving her own opinion at subject. "You just wanted to kill our business partner, right?"

El's head shot up quickly, fear widening her eyes. "No! I will never kill somebody!" Rose snorted and pushed herself from wall to walk away from streets end. "Keep telling yourself that."

Her companion furrowded her brows and pouted, but followed older girl out from dead end.

They walked in silence, El looking everywhere in curiousity as Rose kept her eyes at road ahead of them, not sparing a glance to suspicous looks they got from villagers.

Those villagers apperead fewer and fewer as girls traveled to more crummy area, friendly gazes from them turning to vicious looks from gang members and their girlfriends.

Elizabeth wasn't looking at everywhere and anything anymore, she had seen slums enough to know that even if they were in different city, these people stayed dangerous, no matter how polite and friendly you were to them.

You needed to be in the circle before they offered any help, and while she was not one of them, far for that, Rose was most natural with them. She knew what to do excatly in which situations in scaryly good, as if she had lived in these moments hundread times. Even if she said that she had never being in doing them, El had a suspicous that she was lying.

Not that it was anything new.

They arrived to some hotel, the neon sign of inn lost most of its letters a long time before, now reading Hel l st. Rose had told it once was a Hotel half star, so she knew where they were going.

In fact, Rose had given her, as a joke she realized now, an advertisment of this hotel, telling her most of the history of hotel, its owners, what kind sight they were must to see and that stuff.

And true of it, she could recognize those same palm trees, once so exotic and full of life now being dead and used as meeting spots. People under dried leaves smoked their smokes as they watched them go before them, eyes malicious and angry behind furrowned brows.

Cigarette stump littered the ground, empty condoms and used, broken needles helping trash nicknamed as cancer stick to cover it more, so that those few places grass grew, was no longer green, but brown.

Fortunally the trail, that once was so beautiful, was clean enough that you didn't watch your steps other than random glass and thongs. Well Rose wouldn't have cared if she had, she actually walked slightly off from cleared road, leaving dirt stains on someones underwear.

Hotel itself was almost unregonizble with its now broken structure, windows either broken or planked, graffits coloring its once wonderfully red bricked wall with vulgar words that El had promissed never to use.

Posting at door was two bodybuilders, armed to teeth, bald, tattoed and all in all very menacing.

El was slightly scared, she knew that Rose wouldn't let them to even touch her, as a part of their agreement she said, but even if she was protected by her friend, she couldn't help but feel afraid of those emotionless and powerful guards. It was just what she was taught and only time can help her with her fears. Rose walked casually to guards, her hips swinging as she walked to them.

She had grabbed their attention, few was so confident looking at this neighbourhood, yet she was looking like she owned the whole city.

When she was standing before them, she smiled widely at them and said out loud. "I want to see your boss, I have a meeting with him." Two men glanced at each other, questioning about whatever or not they should let her in, before one of guards shook his head. "Sorry, but boss ain't here."

Rose was unfaced at that and kept smiling as she said. "Even if his lil' angel is calling?" Two guards stiffned at her words and one of them, after slight debate, pressed a button at box which had a speaker. "What now?" Annoyed voice asked at other end, clearly male even as some woman moaning could be heard at background. Guard sweated little but said. "Boss, there be someone askin' yo'."

Voice grew even more irritaited. "And? Say that I'm busy." Guard glanced at grinding Rose, gulped before said. "But boss, they said dat lil' angel be callin'."

Moaning stopped at other end. "Wait a minute." Male said before some shuffling was heard. Some low murmuring was heard, before loud shout of "You bastard!" and a slap.

Guards winced at sound of flesh hitting flesh violently as did El. Rose's grin, if possible, grew bigger at this smal fiasco and her eye twinkled with amusment as she painted drama in her mind.

Some footsteps, quick and hurried as if they didn't know where to go, before more footsteps, more murmuring and angry female voice, cloath shuffling, another slap and door slaming until voice came back, slightly angry. "Allow miss Sunshine to go and lead visitors in." Before finally voice disappeared.

Guard 2 immediately opened the door and not second later, skimply cloathed girl rushed out, her high heels clicking as she walked by. Her hair was messy, make up over the top, lips on scowl as she cursed about men and how they were ungrateful bastards.

El gave room for girl but Rose didn't, 'accidently' bumping on to fleeting girl. High heeled legs stumbled, not excepting sudden unbalance, making owner of red clickers look even more embarrasing as she almost falled backwards. Girl turned around, her glare killing anybody who even dared to touch her, but was met with sunny smile from Rose, who didn't look or sound any apologizing. "Ups, my bad."

Girl growled, her already dark scowl turning almost murderous but she decided not to comment as she saw Rose's large smirk. Girl humped and walked away, desperate to go away from building.

Rose snickered at her, but turned to walk inside of old hotel, El following closely behind her. They were at reception desk, one smoking male looking lazily at them as Rose walked to him. "Is your boss still at seventh floor?" Youngster nodded, his eyes going over both female. "Yep, boss is at seventh floor, at end o' da hall. Why the fuck yo' ask?"

Rose winked at young boy, saying her thanks. "Thanks. It has been a while, so I thought he would have moved already. Nice to see you grown up, Joe!" Said Joe got more serious after that and pointed a knife at her. "How the fuck yo' know mah fuckin' name?"

She smiled at boy and at blink of eye took hold of his wrist and took his blade, pointing it at him. "Did you think that I would forget you? I'm your aunt, give me some credit!" Joe blinked for awhile until realization hit him. "A-auntie?"

She nodded and handed knife back to him. "Yep, alive and well. But now I must go to boss. See you somewhere, Joe!" She shouted, already going up of stairs, El silently following her.

She asked after while just walking in silence. "Are you really his aunt?" Rose shaked her head, her grin growing bigger. "Nah, it would be impossible seeing she died as he was five."

El sighed, one of these time she asked herself why she followed this lying girl, but every time she got her answer without even questioning it out loud. She was her only companion. It was only plus that she was her bodyguard.

They reached seventh floor without problems. Rose knew the route from memory so they didn't ask any help from persons that were littering at halls and rooms and that was a good thing. Elizabeth didn't want to smell or know what crimes they were committing at the moment.

Knocking at last door of the floor seven, they heard footsteps until door was opened and they finally saw boss.

He was healthy looking young man with golden tan, not so long time cutted hair, sparkling blue eyes and joyfull smile, even if cigarette hanging from his mouth ruined lovely picture. He had more cleaner clothes, no stains in his white t-shirt nor in his low hanging jeans.

"Rose! Nice to see you!" Young man hugged her, she happily hugged back, before gave them room to come in. "Come in, come in. We have so much to talk with each other!" Rose went ahead of El, seating herself at sofa that had seen better days. Elizabeth lowered herself gently at seat, not half throwing herself like Rose did.

"So, what made my angel come here?" Man asked, pouring brown liquid on two glasses that he had taken from glass cabinet.

"Cut out the bullshit, Shady, you know excatly why I came back."

Man chuckled as he threw half burned stick away, taking gulp to wash taste away. "Still as feisty as ever, I see. Well, how could you change, it has been only day since we last met. Did you get it?" Shady asked, offering glass to his female business partner, who snorted but took alcohol.

"What do you think, that I wouldn't get something as easy as that? You wounded my honor."

Shady barked a laughter, Rose gulping her beverage. "Honor? Never heard that Rose, the Death Angel, has honor or modesty! That was a good one!"

Man laughed for awhile, Rose kept staring at barely breathing male as El stared right ahead, repeating Rose's words like mantra. "Don't speak, don't breath."

After minute, Shady gathered himself up. "So, what has my little angel gathered in her travels?" Metal hitting wood sound was heard from brown bag that Rose dropped on the table as she relaxed even more at cushioned seat.

"All what you wanted is there. Now, can I get our ticket?" Shady opened the bundle, whistling as he gazed at gold shine his eyes were greeted with before looking back at Rose.

"And where is the rest?" She secretly rolled her eyes but smiled none the less. "Rest is with me and you get them after we are out of the city." She stressed word after with reason, she wanted to make sure that they wouldn't try any funny business before they were long time away.

Shady nodded his head, understanding their deal. "Sure, sure. And here is your ticket for your hard work." He extanded a slip of paper, elegant words printed over colored paper saying "To: Amesrtis"

Rose snatched them from Shady's hand, lifting it towards sun light to look if they were true. She nodded her head and slipped to between her breasts, that way nobody would get them without her dying.

"It was a pleassure to do business with you," Rose started as she stood up, El standing up too, ready to leave gang leader with his money. He stood up with them, following their moves. "But we really need to go now." She smiled, hand signing to her companion to move to door already.

"Ah, what a shame. I thought that you two would stay here for awhile." Man said, stepping slowly towards Rose, who was protectively before El, his grin getting bigger by second. "What is the hurry? We have so much to talk, like how stupid you thought I was!"

El screamed as door landed on floor, dozen or more of gun mens circling them. Rose face was emotionless, she quessed something like this was going to happen sometime, but for now? How inconvenient.

Boss chuckled as he boasted at his plan. "We aren't as stupid as you thought, Rose. We heard that you were guarding some noble girl, and that she was big money. But we never thought that you would have princess herself. Or, should I say, Queen Elizabeth." He cackled, his minions joining him as El quivered slightly.

This was an exact situation that they were avoiding, but now that they were uncovered what they could do? Rose lost her serious face as laughter continued, crazed grin melting her face from stone-like state.

"Hey El. Close your eyes for awhile." Shady chuckled, what she was thinking?

"Do you think that ordering her not to look will save you? Or do you not want her to see how badly you will lose?" Males laughed with their leader, mocking her but she didn't mind it.

"No." Men looked up at her amused voice to see her with her hands high up, blood drip at her finger tip. Her grin was wide, stretching from one ear to another as her eye glemed with unspoken bloodlust.

"It was for that she wouldn't see this." Blood drip that once was at her skin started to drop towards floor where all gang members were looking, only to see somekinda symbol drawn on it. It looked like a half made star, but one side was left open.

Only Shady realized what it was, but before he could shout, blood tear landed at middle of strange symbol, unleashing hell.

After that only screams of tortured could be heard as whole hotel was gone over, some of them begging for their mother, some begging for God, which by the way, made Rose and her summon cackle madly, until last of group members gave his last desperate shout of help.

Hearing last man standing go down, El opened her eyes, to see deformed soul go back to circle. It was somewhat transparent but you could still see that it wasn't human. It was somewhat a hybrid, what with boar face and horse legs, but got human looking torso, even if his nails would be better fitting to a cat.

Rose was at her side, observing with pleassed grin at destruction her summon had did at once full building. Black head saw her open her eyes at corner of her eye and turned towards smaller girl.

"Come on, we have a train to catch." El nodded, not even looking at mutilaited humans. She had done that mistake at earlier years and got still sometimes nightmares even when Rose said to grow a pair.

As they walked at empty halls, radiosets that were bulted to roof went up as an annoucment was heard, making El stop as she regonized voice that spoke. "Hey Rose, isn't that Edward's voice?" Rose hmm'ed, stopping to listen too.

"And that's why you are a third-rate." Silence followed those words until loud shout of "WHAT!"

"Hmm, you may be right. Let's go check it out." Rose finally said after listening some more, walking towards exit with slightly faster pace, El trying her best to follow taller girl.

They arrived too late, because Rose had wanted to do something before going to place where radio programme came from, after asking for directions from villagers.

They saw Roze, trying to stand up, which made El go to her and help her up. "Is everything alright?" She asked, worried from girl's health.

"Y-yes, everything is just...fine." She answered, distracted by something. "Well then why were you collapsed on the floor?" Elizabeth asked at her, her brows lowering in worry until Rose snorted.

"Because she realized how her all dreams were crushed and just now realized how she was lied to." Purple eyed girl seemed shocked but shaked her head, muttering under her breath. "She just guessed..." before Rose asked her own question.

"When does the train leave? We are moving from here, but we don't know when it leaves..." Roze blinked at them before uttered, slightly surprised of change of subject. "It's just about to leave..."

Both girls freezed at revealvition. Second ticked without movement from two girls before Rose grabbed El, throved her at her back like a backpack and ran, El screaming for her to go faster.

Roze blinked after sudden act, mumbling "Maybe they really needed to go..." before walked away.

"Ed." Said boy turned to look at his younger brother who was gazing out from window. "When do we arrive at home?" Blonde boy slipped his hand under his coat, searching for his watch, but not finding it. He looked his other secret pocket, finding only dust.

He taped all of his pockets, making his brother turn to look at his panicking search, slight fear spiking in him too. "Brother, you still do have the watch, right?"

Ed didn't seem to hear him as he mumbled to himself. "Where the hell it's? It couldn't just get lost and I made sure that nobody..." He suddenly got flashback of his earlier fight with the girl, how she just ran past him and how he felt his pocket grow lighter. "would get close to me... That girl stole it!" He shouted, getting glares from other passengers as he interrupted their talk.

Ed imagine that Al blinked because he didn't move for a second, before he shouted too. "What?" He stood up and grabbed Ed's shoulders shaking him as he yelled. "That watch was our ticket to home and you lost it! Ed, how could you! We need to find it!"

He released shaked up boy, who was dizzily looking at roof of their train, foam coming from his mouth as his brother looked through his pockets.

"Learn from them, El. Never let anybody you don't know come close to you, they might take your ticket, or worser, your weapon."

Ed blinked as familiar voice talked and stood up, pointing at grinding girl who was leaning against doorframe, still staying at hallway. "You!" Girl maximed her smile before walked inside of their booth, ungracefully dropping her body on cushioned seat. Elizabeth followed her, head down as if she was ashammed of something. "Yeah, me. What about me?"

"Where is my watch?" He grumbled, eyes throwing daggers at female before him. She had audicity to chuckle at him, but showed her hand, silvery watch dangling from chain at her palm. "You mean this cheap decoration? Sure, if you want to be marked as party pooper then here you go." She throved watch to shorter male, who was able to catch it before it flied out from window.

He sighed in relief as he finally got his belonging back, but stopped as he heard for first Elizabeth speak and Al answering her. "So, where are you guys going?" "To Amestris."

His head whipped around, to see Rose watching from sidelines, nodding her head as she three words he dreaded to hear. "We are too."

His legs couldn't hold him anymore as his body thumped on the sofa next to Alphonse, staring at roof with pleading eyes. 'Why God do you test me so?'

Rose suddenly sat up, wide grin playing over her lips as she exclaimed. "I know. I will go and get us drinks! You seem to sober to have fun with!" She stood up and walked out from door, bumping two boys almost intentionally, before disappeared from their sight and leaving silence behind her.

El kept looking at her fingers, watching as they touched each other with surprisingly determinted interest as Ed was thinking next location that he had read had Philopser's Stone, Al continuing his earlier activity with staring at changing scenery.

"Sorry." Silence was stopped as quiet voice said her apology, lifting Ed and Al from their thoughts. "Why are you apologing? It's not like you had done anything." El looked down, avoiding their eyes as she talked. "I'm not asking apology for my sake, I'm asking it for Rose's sake."

Ed grimazed at girl's name and El saw it. "I know she can be, weird at times, but you must know that, while it's hard to imagine, she doesn't kill mindlessly. Well she did few years ago, but that's another story." She shaked her head, as if physical movement would erase memory.

"What I'm saying, that if you treat her as your enemy, she will be your enemy. But if you treat her like a friend, she will show you what friendship means." El smiled warmly, probably remembering something.

"If she acts rough, it's because she is used to it. She once said that it's gift from military. I agree. Bravery is accomplished only when one goes under many troubles and wins them." She looked at them, slightly sarcastic smile stretching her mouth. "Or stupidity, as your case proves." Tick mark appeared over Ed's head before he shouted, shaking his fist at her. "Why you!"

She crossed her arms as she leaned away from raging boy. "Well what else it could be, if you are battling Death Alchemist herself."

Ed scowled as he sat again. "What is so fantastic about her anyway? All I hear is a title and no proof." El opened her mouth, ready to defend her friend but stopped and thought little.

"What do you know about her?" Sudden question surprised Ed and Al, but he tried answering. "She is, umm, eighteen years old and she follows you?"

El shaked her head, slightly laughing at their information. "You got it all wrong. Nobody knows her age, she is seen with different kind bodies, this one was just what she found once. She was, or is, a State Alchemist, like you guys. Her title comes for her ability, a skill that she was granted after she came back to life. She will summon a demon from deepest parts of Hell, and donates one humans body as vessel. But that wasn't always like that." She shaked her head, emphising her deny more.

"No, at first she was only able to possess humans that were alive to do random things at some times. Her past is altogether an interesting, but around these times she gained her present ability. Let me tell you her story."
