Hey FanFiction! Some of you are probably wondering what King Vector looks like. I completely forgot to describe his looks in the last chapter, so I'm just going to explain what he looks like here. He has a fair skin completion, spiky silver hair, and red eyes. He wears a gold crown and a purple robe. I hope that guy's get a good picture of him now.
It was nightfall, and the Linphean king was pacing back and forth angrily in his throne room.
"Damn it," he shouted. "King Vector, calm down," his advisor tried to convince him.
"Flora should be my wife. Mine I tell you!"
"Of course she does sire, but what's done is done. She is already engaged."
"True," he huffed. He then had a malevolent grin on his face. "Valtor, I have a brilliant idea of how to rid of this Helia."
"What is it?"
"Just bring him to me tomorrow. I'll take care of the rest."
The next day, Valtor and two of the king's soldiers arrived at Helia's home. After he knock on the door a young man with short blue hair came out.
"Um hello," he responded.
"Good morning," Valtor replied. "Helia Knightly I presume."
"Yeah."
"Mr. Knightly, King Vector of Linphea has some business to discuss with you. We are here to escort you to the castle." Helia stood there a bit shock. "Why does the king want to speak with me?" he asked. "Why would he?"
"That information is privileged for now," Valtor answered. "We must leave immediately whether you like it or not."
"Now!" Helia shouted. "But I was about to meet my fiancé somewhere."
"Can't you just call her on your cellphone. You know, telling her you will be late," one of the soldiers advised.
"Shut up you idiot," Valtor whispered to him. He didn't want anyone else knowing about Helia's meeting with the king.
"You do know that all the lower class citizens of Linphea can't even afford a cellphone." Helia replied.
Relieved that Helia wasn't going to contact another person Valtor said,"Well the meeting won't take long Mr. Knightly. I'm sure your fiancé will understand."
"I don't have a choice, do I."
"No you do not."
Helia, Valtor, and the guards were now walking through the castle hallways. As they were heading to the dining room Helia kept thinking to himself what is to be expected once he confronts the King of Linphea. "Why would the king want to meet a farm boy like me. This doesn't add up at all. Something isn't right, but I can't do anything about it now."
"We're here!" Valtor announced as they were all in front of an enormous door. "The king is inside this room. He wished to speak with you alone."
"Okay," Helia said.
The guards opened the door for the young man and watched as he entered the room. "Aw, isn't the famous Helia Knightly." King Vector was sitting on his dining chair at the end of a table, enjoying a glass of wine. "Grab yourself a seat next to me. There is much we need to discuss." Helia walked to a chair and sat down.
"Want anything," the king asked.
"No thanks," Helia answered. "But I would like to know why you called me up?"
"I have a problem Helia, and I am afraid you are a part of it."
"Me," Helia said shockingly. "I am just a farm boy. How could I be part of your problem."
There was a moment of silence before the king spoke, making Helia feel uncomfortable.
"Let me tell you something," Vector began. "Throughout Linphean history the royal men in my family always had a queen by their side. They have all married at age sixteen. I didn't want to break that cycle but I wasn't able to find that one special girl. You remember King Alexander right? It was a tragic day when he and his wife were assassinated, but at least they had each other.
Helia was still confused. He sat there patiently listening to the king's history lecture, but got irritated that he didn't get to the point.
King Vector started talking again. "There are times when I feel like I can die easily any day. Maybe from assassination, or maybe from a horrible incident. I'm not sure, but I do know this... I don't want to spend my last moments alive alone. I want to spend it with someone I care about dearly. And I believe I've found that woman the other day."
"I-I'm happy for you, but I still don't know why this topic has to do with me," Helia said.
"Well here is the part of the discussion that becomes a bit difficult to tell you," Vector chuckled. " Sorry, usually if I wanted to say something to a person I just do it, but now it seems really awkward to do so."
"Is this going to take long your highness," Helia asked. "I need to see someone."
"That is the thing Helia. The problem is that the woman I am in love with is... Flora."
"WHAT!" Helia stood up enraged at the thought of his precious rose in the arms of this guy.
"Look farmer boy," Vector said calmly. "Believe it or not I am a reasonable guy. I understand how this situation might feel frustrating I suppose, but there isn't anything you can do about it. Now luckily for you today is my good day so here. "The king gestured a bag in front of Helia until he snatched it from his hand. The farm boy looked inside and saw a bunch of jewels that were worth a lot in Linphea.
"You expect me to give you Flora for money!"
"And to leave this part of the planet," Vector finished." Think about it. You get to live in luxury for the rest of your life, I get a lovely mistress, and the kingdom will have a new queen. Everybody wins."
"There is no way I am doing this," Helia stated. "You're acting like Flora is just some piece of property you can buy but she is not! I might not be the most acceptable guy for a beautiful, generous woman like her but she definitely doesn't deserve to be with a man like you."
"Watch your mouth with me peasant!" The king stood up pointing out Helia's mistake to cross with him. "You have no idea how generous I'm being with you now! I recommend you take the money and get out of here before I start having second thoughts."
"Keep your money," shouted Helia as he threw away the bag of jewels. I'm not going to just sell the love of my life to you!"
King Vector became more relaxed after that. "I see that I am not going to change your mind anytime soon peasant. You left me with no choice. GUARDS!"
Four of his royal guards rushed into the room and grabbed hold of Helia's arms. "What the hell is this," he shouted.
"As far as the kingdom knows, you were executed for attempting to murder the Linphean King. But really I have something else in store for you."
"Why are you doing this," the farm boy exclaimed. "Why are you even like this!"
"It's... complicated," the king answered with a smirk. You should have taken my offer boy. Now take him away!"
Vector watched as Helia struggled to break free from the guards' hold while they were taking him away. Valtor came into the room after.
"The problem was taken care of?" he asked.
"Yes it is. After I you make the "tragic announcement about poor Helia" to the kingdom, I will pay a visit to his...I mean my fiancé.
Helia was sitting hopelessly inside a prison aircraft with his hands cuffed in shackles.
"Where are you taking me," he shouted. "I'm innocent!" None of the king's men would answer him as they were driving the shuttle, but Helia was able to hear their conversation through the wall separating him from them.
"What do you think he did to piss off the king," one of them asked to the other. "I don't know nor give a crap. Whatever it is, it must've been really idiotic. It takes a lot for someone to make King Vector throw them in this prison. I almost feel sorry for the guy."
"Prison!" Helia thought. "I can't be stuck in a prison, not now."
"Let me out!" He used up all of his energy pounding on the walls, but there was no effect. "Please, don't do this." He fell against a wall accepting defeat.
"I didn't even get to say goodbye to her. I didn't even say goodbye to my precious rose."
It took hours but the shuttle finally reached its destination. The guards walked Helia in front of an old, gray prison that was built near a cliff. The building looked like a small castle. Below the cliff was a hundred foot drop into the sea that was crashing against the sharp rocks below. Helia has no idea where he is now. He observed his surroundings, seeing that there is barely any signs of life. This must be the western part of Linphea, he thought. I didn't know that there was a prison here.
The prison's doors opened, letting out a dozen guards in black armor. They were aligned in formation as the warden walked passed by them. There was no color to his skin as if he has never been out in sunlight. He was wearing a white blouse covered by a red robe. The rest of his clothing was black, including his leather gloves. The warden's hair was light brown and wavy. It reached down to his shoulders. He walked passed his guards and in front of his new prisoner.
"So the king sent me another playmate," he spoke. "Marvelous. We'll take care of things from here boys." The king's knights gave Helia to the prison people and headed back to their ship. "Well lad, welcome to Chateau d'If, your new home. You'll love it here."
All Helia can do was give him a death glare as they took him up to his new quarters.
That is the end of this chapter. In case you don't know Chateau d'If is a prison in Europe. It was also in the book/movie The Count of Monte Cristo.
Thanks for reading my FanFic!
