Chloe's POV

Previously in Chloe King meets San Francisco: "Out of nowhere I was tackled to the ground. I growled and quickly rolled over, efficiently straddling my attacker. Feeling triumphant I got off the ground and dusted myself off. I turned to face the duo that was stalking me during the school day.

"I don't think I've properly introduced myself. Mai name is Tori."

Alek stepped forward. He ignored my outstretched hand and wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me flush against him.

"I don't think we need to be introduced. You and I are very well acquainted already", he purred into my ear. I rolled my eyes and pried myself out of his embrace. I've never met anyone so bold in my life.

"Well when getting to know someone it sure helps to know their name."

"Petrov, Alek Petrov at your service. Otherwise known as God on Earth. But you can call me "Your Royal Hottness," he looks me up and down. "And it is very nice to see you Tori." He winks.

"Would it kill you to think with your head instead of your friend downstairs…?" Alec quirked an eyebrow.

"You know, if you wanna see George, I'm sure a meeting can be arranged"

"Why don't you go have kittens with some other girl, I'm not interested." The Mai next to him cleared her throat, clearly annoyed by his antics.

"Tori, allow me to present to you my not-as-attractive cousin, Jasmine." She rolled her eyes and moved forward to shake my hand. I move back one step to survey them. Well, I'm not just going to stand here and exchange small talk.

"So…I'm just going to cut to the chase. Why are you guys playing hide and go seek with me?" (Yes I'm blunt, have a problem with that?)

"You're Mai, and when another of our kind arrives, they notify us beforehand." Jasmine responded. Alec was giving me a look, with his head tilted. I arched an eyebrow.

"What's it to ya?"

"Where are you from Tori?" He asked.

"I think it's better if I leave that information private."

"Tori-" he protested.

"No. Trust me; it will benefit us all if no one knows where I came from." That made Alek shut up but it didn't stop the looks he kept giving me. He glanced my way, his face slightly taut. Okay what's with the mood swings? First he's trying to make out with me and now he wants to know where I came from. It's almost if I was triggering some memory from the past he's almost forgotten. (A/N foreshadowing…) Jasmine spoke up again.

"So, Tori, I think you should meet my mom. Announced or not, she will be pleased to meet another fellow Mai." Blondie's head snapped up.

"Welcome back to Planet Earth, London Bridge," I snickered. I was expecting some snarky comment, at the very least some reference about George. Instead his brows puckered as he frowned. I shrugged. Okay…so he can go on being weird if he wants to. Psh, doesn't bother me in the slightest. Especially not the way he scrutinizes me. That's just crazy talk. I turned to Jasmine.

"Um, maybe tomorrow or something? I can't today."

"Sure, how about we meet up at the coffee shop after school?"

"Alright sounds good to me. See you guys later." Jasmine waved and started walking away. She stopped when she noticed Alek staring at me in the same spot. Yeah I was a little past being slightly uncomfortable.

"Alek, you coming?"

"Um…yeah. Sorry, just something on my mind..." He glanced at me once more before following his cousin. Huh. Wonder what that's all about. I walked back towards my apartment and sank thankfully into the black leather couch. I pulled out my cellphone. I had texts from my friends Ricky and Casey asking me how everything was, if I was okay, and if I've been attacked yet. I quickly typed a reply saying everything's fine, and I have not been recognized. After, I called my mom, Meredith. I was relieved when she answered the phone.

"Mom. Hi.

"Hi sweetie. How is everything in San Francisco? I've been worried sick. I'm so sorry I missed your call! Its just I've been busy, with all the Order and what not. No one has recognized you yet right? You haven't been attacked or-"

"Mom your rambling. And don't worry everything here has been fine so far." She sighed in relief.

"I'm sorry, it's just. I miss you hun."

"I miss you too mom. Oh right before I forget. I met a couple of Mai from the Pride in San Francisco. They go to the same school as me."

"That's great! What's their names?"

"Jasmine (I don't know her last name) and Alek Petrov." The line went silent before my mother repeated

"Alek Petrov? Could you, describe him perhaps?"

"Blonde hair, brown eyes. Fair skinned, kinda smirky. Why does it matter mom?"

"No reason. Just don't want you to get too boy crazy." I knew she was lying. But what is she trying to hide from me? As much as I wanted to, I didn't pry. I would get it out of my mom later.

"Right cause I'm going totally crazy having wild parties in my hotel room" I replied sarcastically. She laughs.

"Sorry kiddo, but I have to go. I love you!"

"Implied. Bye mom."

The rest of my night went uneventful after my phone call with my mother. I crashed on the couch with some licorice (what, it's my favorite candy? Don't judge…) and watched TV. As I feel asleep my thoughts went back to when I was about 6 and my best friend was a boy with blond hair and brown eyes…
