Two hours after Tails had rebooted Amy's system, the two friends left the fox's workshop. Tails knew that they could not hope to get far into changing back without help, so they decided to go find Sonic and ask him for help (though Tails knew that he would remember the footage he had seen earlier of Amy with her dream Sonic). They each wore long cloaks to hide their robotic bodies, for Amy felt, if they were seen by anyone, that everyone would think that they worked for Eggman. I just hope we can convince Sonic that we don't work for Eggman, too, she thought. I'd hate for him to think that we're his enemies.

After a little while, Amy got the strange notion to look down at her hands. To her surprise, they had transformed from mallets to hands. How did that happen? she wondered. Then it hit her: Tails had said that he had altered some of her hard drive's security protocols. Perhaps that has something to do with my hands changing. I should remember to ask him about it later.

It was not long after Amy's realization that the duo arrived at Sonic's house. Tails approached the door and gently knocked a hand on it. The two friends waited a moment for a response, only for there to be none. Tails tried again, only for the same thing to happen. "Sonic?" he called. "Are you there?" There was still no response: no noise from inside or outside. The fox turned to Amy. "I guess he's not here."

"Oh, where can he be?" Amy asked anxiously. "What if he's in trouble?"

"Then he'll be able to get out of it, as he always does," Tails reassured her, attempting to ease her anxiety. "We can look for him, if it'll help you feel better." I know it'll help me feel better, he thought. Even though he was not showing it, he was about as tense as Amy was.

Amy nodded. "Okay."

They turned around and left Sonic's house in less than a second. As they walked on, Amy's mind was whirling. Where can he be? she wondered anxiously once more. I hope he's alright. But even if we find him, how will he react to seeing us?

Tails and Amy had only been walking for a few minutes when they heard a familiar shout. "Did you hear that?" Tails asked urgently.

"Yes, I did," Amy replied in an anxious tone. It was not long until they heard another yell. "It's Sonic!" she cried. He really is in trouble! "Let's go!"

Tails nodded before they rushed in the direction Sonic's shouts came from. They dashed over the grassy land as fast as they could until eventually coming to a stop at the edge of the clearing. The sight that greeted them was not a pleasant one.

Sonic struggled for freedom as four of Eggman's robots held on to each of his limbs. Unfortunately, his efforts to get free were fruitless. I guess Eggman made his mechs stronger to resist Sonic's speed, Tails thought grimly. Dread filled his heart as another disturbing sight also greeted their vision: Eggman was standing directly in front of Sonic! Oh, this is really not good! He looked over at Amy, who was obviously at war with her own emotions. What'll we do? If Amy's scared of facing Eggman and angry that he has Sonic, what hope do we have of saving Sonic? And how will Amy react if we end up fighting the other robots?

Amy clenched her hands together to form fists. I can't let Eggman Roboticize Sonic like he did me, she thought angrily, despite feeling afraid of facing the evil scientist. But how can I stop him? She glanced at Tails, whose gaze had returned to the scene below them. Then again, how can we stop him? A strange feeling came from her hands once more. While her fists were clenched, they had transformed back into her Piko Piko Hammers. She seemed to grin, hope shining in her robotic eyes. That's how we'll do it. We'll use our new abilities! "Tails," she whispered. "I have a plan..."

Eggman sneered at Sonic from his hovercraft. "Looks like you've finally lost, Sonic."

Despite how helpless he was in this situation, Sonic could not help but smile competitively at Eggman. "We'll see about that!" he said.

Before Eggman could reply to that remark, two of the robots were shot from up above. With his feet freed, Sonic flipped the other robots over onto the ground at an amazing speed, causing them to release him as well. He and Eggman looked up in surprise to see a hooded Tails flying down to stand beside Sonic, his robotic guns drawn. "Got your back, Sonic!" Tails proclaimed, disregarding Sonic's amazed look, as he pulled the hood back from his head.

More robots came at them seemingly from out of nowhere. At first it seemed as if the odds were in Eggman's favor, but a rumble from the nearby hill made them realize otherwise. Amy, wearing her cloak though with her hood off of her head, charged at full speed towards the robots, her hammers at her sides until she reached them, then they were out in front of her as she slammed them into the robots. Robot parts went flying around the field, each part several feet away from the other. In an instant Amy was at her friends' sides, growling at Eggman.

For once in his career as a villain, Eggman felt sheer terror at the sight of the three of them united against him. This was so much easier when none of them were Roboticized! Wait a minute, he thought suddenly, I don't recall Roboticizing Tails at any time. His eyes went wide behind his glasses. Amy must've done something to him. He regained his composure, then lifted his hovercraft up into the air. "Another time, Sonic!" he called as he fled the scene. Another time when I know how to deal with your scrap-metal friends, that is!

Sonic, Amy and Tails watched as the form of Eggman's hovercraft grew smaller and smaller as it gained distance until they could not see it at all. The blue hedgehog looked at his friends in surprise. "Amy? Tails? Is that really you?"

Tails nodded solemnly. "Yep, it's us."

"What the heck happened to you?"

Amy and Tails exchanged glances for a moment, then Amy sighed. She told the love of her life about everything she had been through the entire day. Sonic's eyes went wide once Amy was done with her tale. "Whoa," he breathed.

"We were wondering if you could help us get back to normal," Tails said to Sonic.

Sonic scratched his head for a moment. "Well, I don't know how much help I'll be," he said doubtfully. "I don't really know anything about getting Roboticized people back to normal." He noticed the crestfallen faces of Tails and Amy, then managed a reassuring smile. "But that doesn't mean I won't try to help you."

The two robots smiled brightly at this. "Thanks, Sonic," Tails said gratefully.

"Oh, Sonic, thank you!" Amy shrieked, hugging Sonic happily.

"Amy," Sonic's voice rasped out, "choking, not breathing."

Amy released him in surprise. "Sorry!" she apologized. "I guess I'm still not used to my new strength just yet." But I feel that I will soon, if Tails and I don't get back to normal before then.
