"Hey." Kagami said softly as he picked up the phone. "What's up."

"Nothing. What are you doing?" Aomine asked.

"Well it's two oclock in the morning over here."

"Did I wake you up?"

"Yeah, but it's okay." Kagami smiled resting the phone in the crook of his neck.

"I'll call back in a few hours then." Aomine sounded like he was going to hang up.

"I said it was fine." Kagami chuckled. "What's wrong? Why did you call?"

"No reason, I just wanted to check in."

"Nothing much is happening over here. We made it to the play offs but I think I already told you that."

"Yeah."

"What about you? How are things?"

"Fine."

"Seriously, what's wrong. You're not your usual chatter box self."

"Nothing, nothing, I just…I wanted to hear your voice."

Kagami grinned practically hearing his boy friend blush on the other end of the phone. "Miss me?"

"Yes."

"The season is almost over." Kagami assured him.

"I kind of wish you would lose so you would come back home."

"You could come up here with me. I could pay your way and everything."

"Maybe." Aomine had decided not to take the trip forgetting how long the basketball season last, and how long it meant Kagami was going to be away.

Even after the realization he thought he would be fine. It was only temporary and he'd gone most of his life with out Kagami before all this, a few months weren't going to kill him.

But they were and it sucked.

"Hurry up and get home."

Short and sweet phone call. I hope you like it
