A/N: Sorry I've been gone for so long! I've been incredibly lazy this summer! Anywho, back to the story .

I awoke to the sound of knocking at the door. I jump up to answer it, but a feeling of light headedness overwhelms me, sending me back to the bed I was placed upon.

"Hey, stupid. Don't get up. You're just going to faint again." A voice all too familiar to me says.

I turn my head to the voice of my best friend.

"Hermes! Hi!" I say joyfully.

"How's it going, Steph'." He says, putting down the book he had been reading, and turns to me. "Quite a show you put on back there." He says, sarcasm dripping from his mouth.

Before I could reply with a snide comeback, the knock I had awoken to, had gotten louder and more demanding.

"Who's that?" I question

"Princess, use your brain. It's not that hard." He replies

"You better keep that smart mouth shut before I slap you!" I say making the most menacing face I can muster.

"Bring it on, Blondie! I can take you any time, any day!" He says with a smirk. He nods to the door "You want me to get that?" he asks.

"Use your brain, boy!" I say mocking him

"Ha-ha, you're hilarious! So I take that as a yes?" he says turning to the door.

"Drummer Boy, don't you dare!" I say, raising my body so I could sit up.

"Drummer boy? Why on earth would you call me that? I don't even play the drums." He says inquisitively.

"First thing that came to mind, plus you look like a drummer."

"I do not!" He says, with a defensive tone

"Yes, you do! Messy hair, loud, and sweaty, all you're missing is the tattoos." I joke giving him a playful smile.

"Hun, how do you know I don't have any tattoos?" He asks returning the smile.

"Hun" I say mockingly "I know you better than you know yourself."

"Not going to argue with that logic." he says sarcastically.

The knock got even louder, interrupting our thoughts.

"You can't just leave me out here forever." Hades says, sounding annoyed.

"Hey, Steph'?" Hermes asks as a mischievous smile spread across his lips. "How about we get out of here?"

"You can't be serious! My father would kill you, and don't even get me started on what he" I say pointing to the door, "would do to you."

"I'm not afraid of them" he says placing his hand in mine "and I definitely don't want that dude taking you down there."

"See, Drummer Boy. You said "dude" in a sentence. It's official, your new nickname is Drummer boy!"

"Steph' if you say that one more time..." he says as he flicks his fingers, and the black envelops me as I close my eyes.

I open them to see the beach, and I felt the sand squish underneath me as we landed.

"A beach? Oh, Drummer Boy! This is so cliché." I say and a playful smile dancing across my face.

"I warned you Blondie!" He says, grabbing my waist and pulling me over his shoulder.

"Put me down, Raggedy Andy!" I say playfully punching his back. "See, is that better?"

"Remind me to never let you pick out anybody's name." he says, walking closer to the ocean "Seriously, how do you come up with this kind of stuff?"

"Hermes! Don't you dare! Seriously, stop! I don't want to get wet!" I squeal struggling to break free of his grasp.

Hermes just laughs and continues walking closer and closer to the water.

"I told you you'd better stop 'Steph''!" He says, releasing his grasp and throwing me into the blistering cold water.

The cold sends a shock through my body, waking up every nerve. I stand up and race out of the water. Water drips down my dress and drops onto the sand. I glare at Hermes, whom was laughing so loudly that I swear that Zeus could hear him from Olympus.

"Come here drummer boy! I want to give you a hug!"

He looked at me, still laughing. "Go ahead and try, Blondie!"

I run to him, arms outstretched. He runs ahead. I know I will never be able to catch him, but it doesn't hurt to try. I feel my legs giving out and just as I am about to throw in the towel, a big wave comes out from the ocean, drenching him in water and seaweed.

"Thanks!" I yell to the sky.

He shakes himself off, which made him resemble a dog. He makes his way to me, shaking his head.

"Well, I thought Poseidon was on my side." he says "but now that we know Poseidon knows, we can safely bet that every other god and goddess knows as well."

"Poseidon is smart, he must've sent his minions to look for us... I say we have about five minutes before the rest come to find us" I say turning my head from the ocean to Hermes.

"Seriously Steph', stop being so smart, it makes me look bad" He says.

"That's my job, ain't it?"

"My remark of you being smart has officially been revoked... never say ain't... just... no" he says shaking his head "Now, don't you think we should be going?"

We start walking away. The sand starts sticking to my skin and dress. I put my fingers up, with the intention of cleaning myself up. Hermes puts his hands over mine, clasping them together.

"We can't use our powers here, it would lead us to being found even faster"

"But the sand...Hermes, you're so stupid! Now I have gross sand all over!" I whine.

"Deal with it, girlie... we have bigger problems than a little sand on your skin to deal with."

He grabs my hand and we flee to a cave which was engraved in the wall of rock not too far from where we were standing.

"The fates are definitely in our favor today" He says

"As long as we make it to that cave before Hades finds out where we are, I'm as happy as Hades."

"Note to self: never let you decide any nicknames, idioms, or mostly anything. You suck at them... seriously I'll get you the mortal book Creativity for Dummies." he says chuckling at his own joke.

"Hey! Don't be so mean. I try."

"Don't even try, you embarrass me." He says

"You embarrass yourself" I reply.

"I would give a snide comeback, but it's not worth it." He says as we walk though into the cave.

It was dark, but the sunlight from outside still snuck inside. It was cold, so I move closer to Hermes and scour the ground for a nice place to spend the night. We find a place of dry sand and sit down. We sat down, just as a loud rumbling came from underneath us.

"Looks like we made it just in time" he says smiling at me.

I place my head on his chest and listen to his heart thump. Ignoring the little temper tantrum Hades was having.

"Yes, we did" I say, drifting into unconsciousness.
