Hello, back again! Here's the next chapter for you! As to the question as to why I was re-writing the old version wasn't well edited, it was old and it had a lot of inconsistency so I decided it would be best to just re-do rather than try to fix what was already written. With time comes experience and with experience comes more skill and I hope this version is written with more skill. But either way I hope you enjoy!

Review and enjoy!

Her second day passed much like her first, the only difference was a much less eventful lunchtime. They had a surprise Pre-Cal quiz so Jace was freaking out for the rest of that class and as he walked to his locker after school, he was sure he failed. Clary was confident that she had done well, Clary had always spent a lot of time studying and doing homework she had taught herself a strong work ethic that allowed her to work hard to understand things in classes.

Clary and Isabelle met Aline and Kaelie at their lockers and they walked out to the field that was behind the school together. Jace and Sebastian decided to watch the practice rather than go home, Alec forgot his things so he had to go back.

Clary got changed in the locker rooms with the rest of the team, Maia wore a neon yellow shirt that was hard to miss. Clary was pulling on her cleats when a young girl walked into the locker room. They girl seemed to be just as startled as Clary because she too paused.

"You must be Clary," The girl said, "I'm your cousin Elizabeth."

The thing that was so startling was the resemblance the girls shared, it was only in their facial structure and stature but it was still evident. The girl had long auburn colored hair that fell in the same long curls but the small nose and lips were the same as well as the large green eyes. At first glance they might have been the same color but Elizabeth's eyes were more hazel. The two looked very similar at face value but had small differences that showed they were from different parents. Elizabeth did not have nearly the same amount of freckles that Clary did.

"Nice to meet you," Clary felt like she'd said that much too often recently but there wasn't anything else she could say to the people she was just meeting without sounding rude, while she wasn't sure if it would be 'nice' to know them it was a pleasantry she had been taught to use. The girls changed and were led by Isabelle onto the field.

"High knees up and down the field!" Isabelle called as she started to do the slightly awkward high-knee run.

The fell into a procession and started running up and down doing high knees, lunges, and different steps while they waited for Ms. Knight to come out onto the field to tell them what to do. When she did she told the girls that she'd be making the final round of cuts today, there were still more than twenty girls on the field and they couldn't all make the team, less than half would ever get field time. Clary figured Aline, Isabelle and Maia had already been promised their spots.

"Okay, Maia, Sharon you two go to the nets and we'll start with kicking practice before we make our way into a scrimmage match! Iz you lead your half, just taking shots from different places."

Clary followed Isabelle to the far end of the field, "I thought you guys said there was already a team made up?"

"There is but it's tentative, it wasn't working out right so coach had all of us come back for another try out. But people like Aline, Maia, Kaelie and myself have been assured a spot."

Clary looked at the seats where she saw Sebastian and Jace sitting together watching them. Isabelle saw too and shook her head, bust started to instruct the girls on what to do. Isabelle had a loud, authoritarian voice when she tried. They started out with easy shots and moved up to harder ones. Maia was a very good keeper and she stopped most of the goals, except for the ones shot by Aline and Clary who consistently made it in.

"I don't know if this means I'm a shitty goalie or just that Clary and Aline are really good forwards," Maia said as they walked back to their bench so they could start a scrimmage.

"Maia left, Clary right, Isabelle left, Aline right..." The coach started to split the team up giving the girls on the left blue flags to wear. "So figure out who goes in what position and we start in three!"

"Okay" Aline said taking charge, "Clary, Myself and Elizabeth for forwards, the rest of the girls who played forward last time move to mid field and I know there's three defense girls here so you guys don't let the ball go in." Aline and Clary walked up to the mid-point line, "We have the good defense but they have the good goalie and Mid. Our Forwards are pretty even," She said.

"We'll just have to keep the ball away from them, won't we?" Clary asked.

"I like the way you think."

Their game was fast and Aline and Clary worked well together both used tricky steps to try to keep the ball away from the other team. While they got two goals by the end Isabelle's team had gotten three. By the end of their practice the seats were getting filled with members of the football team.

"Okay, you all played well but we can't take all of you, so if we call your name you're on the team if not I encourage you to try out next year or try for our B-league team."

"So our goalie is Maia Lightwood, our defense unit is Kaelie Whitewillow, Stephanie Long, Jane Landon and Sarah McNeal," She said, "Our mid unit is Elizabeth Greymark, Claire Dent, Lucy Harvey, Maggie Mackenzie and Lena McKinnon. Finally our forward unit, Isabelle Lightwood, Aline Penhallow and Clarissa Morgenstern. Thank you to everyone who tried out, just remember if we have an injury we do call people up from our b team!"

Clary followed Isabelle and Aline to the changing room as the boys started to take the field, clearly they didn't like to wait for what they saw as their field. As they walked Alec handed Isabelle the car keys "Congrats Clary," Isabelle said, "I think our team can do it this year."

"Why are you so obsessed with that?" Kaelie asked Isabelle as they changed back into their uniforms.

"Because, ever since they opened this school up to girls our sports teams haven't been given as much recognition as the boy's teams. I want to have a team so good that we take it all the way, I want to bring home not just the banner but the statewide championship banner and trophy and that means we'd play in the tournament for the country. I don't know how that would go, but a nationwide championship banner hanging in the gym with our names on it seems like a pretty good way to be remembered doesn't it?"

Isabelle spoke with a lot of passion when she spoke about winning, Clary figured the only thing that would hold her back would be her team not being as prepared as she was. "Do you need a drive Aline?" Isabelle asked as they left the locker room.

Clary looked at the field where they boys were practicing tackling, she tried to tell which of the boys was Jace, or Sebastian but she couldn't make them out, they all looked the same. Except for Chairman who was easily recognizable and Bat who was had to be like six and a half feet tall.

"Nope, I have my car today," Aline said, "Why does Alec have the car? Don't you guys carpool with Blondes squared?"

"Yeah we do but Alec had his off class first thing this morning so he slept in and drove himself. So I was able to drive myself and Clary home. He's going to get dropped off by Sebastian."

Clary realized that she hadn't even asked Isabelle for a drive, she'd forgotten that she needed to. "Good luck Clary," Aline said, "At least her driving is better than her cooking!" Isabelle stuck her tongue out at Aline but led Clary to a shiny blue car.

"Can we stop on the way and get Starbucks?" Isabelle asked, "Or do you have to be home right away?"

"I don't think my father is home yet, but I've never had Starbucks before."

Isabelle's eyebrows raised, "Why not? It's great."

"But also really expensive, and I worked in a coffee shop so it would have felt like cheating."

"Monogamy is for schmucks," Isabelle said with a grin, "Let's get you an overpriced, very sugary coffee!"

"Alright."

True to her word Isabelle had ordered Clary an overpriced and delightfully sugary drink, she insisted that she buy it and even went through the drive thru to prevent Clary from trying to get her own. "What do you think?" Isabelle asked as she drove, Aline's words had put Clary on edge but Aline wasn't that bad of a driver. She liked to go a bit fast but she wasn't bad, Clary had driven with worse.

"I think it's great, what is this called again?"

"Double chocolaty chip frapichino," Isabelle said.

"Well that's a mouthful."

"You're accent is great," Isabelle said, "I'm sorry, words sound a lot nicer on your voice."

Clary chuckled, "I was worried people would find my accent annoying. I was also worried everyone would hate me."

"Everyone thinks you're great, you're just a nicer person then most of us are."

"I am not."

"You stood up for Simon and you didn't even know him, you're helping Jace stay on the team."

Clary raised an eyebrow, "I didn't think he'd tell anyone about that."

Isabelle shrugged, "Jace and I are very close." Isabelle must have seen Clary's slow nod because she quickly shook her head, "Not like that. Jace is like my brother, Kaelie is the one who has her eye on him."

"Really?"

"Oh yeah, Jace has dated a lot of girls, including Aline and Kaelie, but our fair haired friend didn't get over Jace, she's been trying to get back with him for a long time but it isn't happening."

"Well I imagine Jace has his pick of girls. Especially with how popular he and Sebastian are."

Isabelle nodded, "He's calmed down a bit this year."

"Alec and I have pickup tomorrow morning so I'll see you then!" Isabelle said when she pulled into Clary's driveway.

"That's for the drive Isabelle!" Clary gathered her things and went to the door, she was glad she'd remembered to get a key to the front door. Clary took her things to her room and changed into jeans, she was the only one home and took the chance to look around the house.

On the floor with the bedrooms there was her room, Sebastian's bedroom which looked very similar to Clary's. She was surprised that it was so neat and everything was in its place. Sebastian had pictures and posters on his walls and a guitar in a stand beside his bed. There were also two extra bedrooms that were empty except for a single bed in each. There was a bathroom on this floor, the one that Valentine and Sebastian shared. Valentines bedroom was on this floor, the door stood open so she peaked inside. She was a little surprised to see a picture of her on the dresser. Curiosity got the best of her and she walked over to see four pictures on the dresser, one was of Clary when she was in grade 1 her mother must have sent it to Valentine. Beside it was a picture of Sebastian when he was about 4, he was sitting with Valentine on the floor who was trying to get his son to look at the camera but Sebastian was just smiling up at his father. The third was of Valentine and Clary's mother on their wedding day, Clary had never seen that picture before and she was struck by how much she looked like her mother at that age, her mother didn't look any older than 20. The final one was of Valentine, Clary and Sebastian. Valentine had Clary who looked to be about one sitting on his lap and Sebastian was sitting beside them looking at Clary carefully.

Clary left her father's room, across the hall from his room was a door that was closed so Clary opened it and found a flight of stairs that went to the attic. Clary went up and turned the light on, as attics went this one was neat and tidy, not too dusty or anything. It was a lot of Sebastian's old things from childhood and a few boxes that held baby toys that had belonged to Clary when she was a baby.

"There's a photo album in that box you might like to see," Valentine said causing Clary to jump, "Sorry I didn't mean to startle you. But your mother kept a photo album through our senior year and up until she left. You might like to see it."

"Thank you, I'll take a look through it later," Clary smiled.

"I'm going to head to the grocery store, want to come? To make sure there's stuff you like."

"Sure!" Clary opened the box Valentine had gestured to and pulled out a black photo album and she followed him back downstairs. After getting her shoes and left the book on her bed and left with her father.

Valentine drove an expensive looking black car, "What exactly do you do?" Clary asked.

"I'm a neurosurgeon," Valentine smiled, "That's why I work such odd hours, because I work at different hospitals, I'm most often at the Grace General hospital, although I sometimes get called for consultations outside of the state."

"You must be a good one then," Clary said.

"I hope so, if not I've just been lobotomizing some poor helpless people."

"Let's hope you never have any freaky Friday type ordeals because I wouldn't want Sebastian poking around peoples brains."

Valentine chuckled at that, "I actually think your brother wants to go into medicine."

"Lord help them all."

Valentine pulled into the parking lot of the supermarket and he and Clary walked in. The oddest thing about shopping with Valentine was that he didn't look at what was on sale he went by what he wanted or what Sebastian and Clary liked. Both Clary and Sebastian liked citrus fruit so Valentine picked up a lot of clementine's and oranges. Valentine got a lot of fruit and vegetables. As well as chicken breast and beef.

"What are you looking at doing next year?" Valentine asked.

Clary felt very self-conscious thinking about what her brother wanted to do and what her father did for a living, "I've always wanted to go to arts school, but I've been looking into graphic design and Architecture."

"Your aunt is an architect, Jocelyn, she owns a company. I'm sure she'd be thrilled to let you see how it is, how is your art? Have you ever considered Animation?"

"Art is my passion, I have some sketch books at home you can see if you'd like."

Valentine smiled down at his daughter, "I'd like that." From looking at him you wouldn't really expect Valentine to be kind and calming, he was tall and looked like he could fight, he had a wide chest and thick arms. His face looked much like his sons and came to the same hard point, Valentine had not shaved in a while so he had scruff on his face but it was so pale it was almost impossible to see. Valentine wore his pale hair styled back, his hair was almost white but showed no signs of greying. Valentines eyes were very dark blue but he smiled at his daughter and that made them seem less frightening and kinder.

"I'm glad you decided to come here," Valentine said, "I know you had a choice."

This was true, Clary could have fought to stay in London, if she put her foot down they would have found someone to keep her until she was of age but Clary didn't want to stay in London anymore, she couldn't face the people who knew what happened to her mother, even her own friends were nervous around her like she might suddenly kill herself too. Like she might suddenly brake. She felt like her place wasn't in London anymore so she took a chance when going to America was proposed Clary agreed and went along with it.

"I think I made the right choice too."

For dinner that night Valentine got a frozen pizza, not his favorite but it was quick and it would be ready when Sebastian got home from practice. "How was soccer? Did you make the team?"

"Yeah, I made the team," Clary said as she helped Valentine put the groceries in the car. "I need you to fill out the form and stuff."

"Do you have good cleats and gear?"

"My cleats are alright, I'll get shorts with the uniform and I borrowed one of Sebastian's bags. My shin guards will need to be updated, so I'll have Sebastian take me at some point."

"You have your driver's license from London?"

"Yeah."

"Well you can drive here for a year, you're able to drive on your license here for a year after your arrival and then you have to get it exchanged but that isn't usually a hard process. You have to re-write the test and take a road test. You can drive home if you'd like."

Clary was nervous as she got behind the wheel, her mother had a car and Clary would use it every once in a while but she was used to driving on the other side of the road. "Don't worry, Sebastian also drove on the left side the first time he drove with me."

"But that's wrong here," Clary said as she moved the seat up so she could see. Valentine nodded, "Yes, it's very wrong here."

Clary drove very slowly but she did make it back to her street just as Sebastian and Jace were pulling in. "I thought you had to be above five feet tall to drive," Jace said as he took his things from the trunk, "Or do you have to use a booster seat?"

"Oh mess off," Clary said as she helped Valentine with the groceries.

After they ate the pizza Clary went up to her room to do homework when she got a Skype call from her best friend back in London, Mitchie. The two talked about how Clary was liking America and if she was making friends. Mitchie was very excited that Clary had made her soccer team and that she was making friends.

"Clary," Jace said from the doorway. "Sebastian and I are going to make popcorn and watch game of thrones, you coming?"

"Well I wouldn't want to ruin your hot date," Clary said without looking over her shoulder, she could see Jace walking up behind her in her camera.

"Nah I should go anyway, it's getting late. I'm tired."

"Okay, I'll be down in a moment," Clary said with a smile back at Jace, "So if you two want to have a make-out session I'd do it now!"

Jace rolled his eyes, "I am too much of a gift to women to be homosexual, Clary."

"Oh bite me Jace."

"I save that for the bedroom."

"Jace stop flirting with my sister!" Sebastian yelled from downstairs. Jace left the bedroom yelling to Sebastian about being strong and independent.

"Who is that?" Mitchie asked.

"Jace," Clary said, "My brother's best friend."

"Oh lord," Mitchie's eyes widened.

"I'm friends with him on Facebook, you can go look at him, but I'll head out for now. Bye Mitch!"

"Cya' Clary!" Clary was just closing her computer when she got a text from Jace, it was all caps telling her to hurry downstairs. Clary had been given the numbers of everyone they ate with at lunch. Clary hurried downstairs.

"You're so impatient Jace," Clary said, sitting down on the basement couch with them, "You just want to see all the boobs."

"Well he's not seeing any in person," Sebastian mumbled. He handed his sister a can of juice.

"What is this?" Clary asked. "Carbonated blood orange juice? This is cool."

"I'm offended that you're questioning my ability to get with ladies!" Jace said folding his arms. "I'm perfectly capable of it!"

"Nobody is questioning your ability to get laid Jace, can we just start?" Clary asked.

They watched a few episodes together before Jace decided to go home, "You should get snap chat, you'll get to see my locker room selfies."

Clary could feel her face redden and that caused Sebastian to hit Jace on the arm, "That's my sister!" Jace just shot the two of them a wink before he disappeared form the house. Clary went up to her room to relax in her bed, she did even get Snap chat justifying it to herself by saying she wanted it to use it to get in contact with Mitchie.

Clary didn't have data on her phone back in London so she didn't often use many apps but with the plan she was put on with Sebastian and Valentine she was able to use them at her discretion. The first one to respond to her addition on the app was Isabelle who sent a picture of herself wearing a mud mask. Clary was a little angry with how pretty Isabelle looked with her hair piled on top of her head wearing a green mud mask. Clary spent much too much time scrolling through Tumblr before she finally went to bed.

While they waited for Alec and Isabelle to come get them Jace, Sebastian and Clary stood together out in front of the Morgenstern house. "My back is killing me from that tackling," Sebastian said.

"It's to make sure you can take a hit," Jace said, "You saw what happened to Wayland last year, if half of our parents weren't all doctors it could have been a lot worse."

"What happened to Jonathan?" Clary asked with quiet curiosity.

"He took a dirty hit from the back but when he went down he hit his face off the guy in front of him, it looked like he snapped his neck so when he wasn't conscious they were freaking out. Valentine, Robert and Maryse were on the field fast and they stabilized him, he had a concussion, broken nose and a broken collar bone."

"Have either of you ever done anything like that?"

"Jace got five guys piled on top of him, fractured his leg and got up to finish the play," Sebastian said.

"Sebastian pissed off some guy on the other team and he got tackled the other guy took off his helmet and broke his nose!"

"Oh my god, this sounds like a really dangerous sport."

Jace and Sebastian just laughed, "Oh no, Iz is driving, I'm walking to school," Jace said. He made a show of walking away from the door, Isabelle must have known what he was doing because she flipped him off. Clay sat in the back seat between Sebastian and Jace.

"Wayland is having a party on Friday," Isabelle said as she drove, "You guys going?"

Jace and Sebastian exchanged a look over top of Clary's head, "Maybe, it depends on how the game goes."

A new student was in Clary's art class when she got there, he was talking to the teacher quietly. "Looks like you're not the new kid anymore," Aline said to Clary when she walked in a spied the new boy too.

"Why don't you introduce yourself," The teacher said to the boy. He was tall and looked nervous. He sat down at the table when everyone else was already seated, "I'm Magnus Bane," He said giving them all a smile. He had a sweep of shiny gold eyeliner on his eyelids and sported a black eye.

"Why Hello Magnus, nice to meet you," Chairman said, "I've certainly never seen you before, like I dunno in my house!" Magnus chuckled, "Magnus is my brother, so be nice," Chairman said.

"You know me as well," Church giggled.

"That's because you're always at my house, you never leave!" Magnus said, starting to relax a little.

"Sounds like Jace," Clary mumbled. Aline and Chairman both heard and started laughing, they knew how often Jace was at the Morgenstern house. "I'm Clary," she added to Magnus.

They continued work on their art pieces for the gallery, "What are you doing afterschool?" Simon asked as they walked to their next class.

"Nothing that I know of, Sebastian and Jace have practice so I don't know. Why?"

"Wanna' go grab a coffee? I know a great little place, I could show you to the library, I heard you mention you didn't know where it was, but I mean if you don't want to that's okay I could just go wander into traffic."

"I'd like that, and I think I know the way to my house so I can find my way home after," Clary joined Jace at their seat in Pre-Calculus.

"I don't know if you got the text from Sebastian or not but can you come pick us up after practice? Isabelle has to take her brother out," Jace said when she sat down. Clary checked her phone and she did have a text that was almost exactly like what Jace had just said.

"Yes, when does it end?"

"Seven," Jace said.

Clary looked up at Simon, "So I just have to be back by seven." Simon nodded and waited for Isabelle to sit down so he could ask her something about their independent assignment. Each group was given a different assignment so they couldn't cheat.

"What are you doing after school?"

"I'm just going to get coffee and look at books with Simon."

"Do you want to come to that party on Friday?" Jace asked Clary.

"It'll be a good one, when one of the Jonathan's throws a party it's always great," Isabelle chimed in from in front of them.

"Sure, if you and Sebastian are going I will."

"Can you help me tonight, Clary?" Jace asked, "After practice?"

"Of course," Clary said, "We working on Cal tonight?" Jace nodded and they continued to work on the new work introduced to them. Jace asked Clary a few questions but for the most part he just tried to work. Clary thought about going to a party, she'd been to a few when she was in London, because she'd scored some good goals during a football match or if she'd helped some more popular students with their homework but for the most part she didn't like the people that went to the parties.

The rest of the day went by fairly quickly, and Clary met Simon at her locker, "I just need to wait for my brother, so I can get the car keys." The two of them waited for the rest of Clary's brother to get to the lockers. Clary stored her Chemistry and English things, not brothering to bring them home if she wasn't going to study.

"Can I have the car key's Sebastian?" Clary asked, "So I can come get you after your practice."

"Sure," Sebastian pulled the car out for his jacket pocket, "Drive safely."

Clary and Simon went to a coffee shop which was called 'What's the bean?' a place where they have a weekly contest where you can potentially win free coffee if you guess the type of bean they used in the mystery coffee. Clary got a frozen, cappuccino and they went to the library. It wasn't a very far walk from their school, when they were done at the library they went to a book store where Clary got a few new books and some new comics. Clary found that Simon had an older sister who was away at University.

The two had a lot of interests in common, like the style of books and comic books they liked. Simon even walked Clary home so she knew how to get there and didn't get lost. "I'll see you later," Simon said, giving Clary a wave, "Enjoy the rest of your evening, have fun with Goldie Locks."

Clary went up to her room to change, she put on her favorite leggings and a sweater. Clary drove a bit slowly but she did get Alec, Jace and Sebastian back home safely. She was given a lot of hell by Sebastian and Jace for driving like a grandmother. But Clary just ignored them and got them home in one piece.

Thursday and Friday passed similarly to the days before. Clary found herself more comfortable with the people she was around, and she got used to Isabelle. Clary spent most of her time with her brother and Jace who was always with them. Clary didn't mind helping Jace with his work, since he usually paid attention to her.

Friday night rolled around and the boys had their second game of the season, Clary and Isabelle sat with Aline, Kaelie and the stands were alive with cheering. A little into the Chairman's brother and Girlfriend Church joined them to watch the boys play.

"Is Jace coming to the party tonight?" Kaelie asked Isabelle.

"Yeah, he and Sebastian said they'd come," Isabelle said, "Why?"

Kaelie grinned a little, "He's always extra friendly when he drinks."

"He's never friendly to you," Aline said with a side glance at Kaelie, "You ought to give up Kay, it isn't going to happen again."

"I'm going to the bathroom!" Kaelie stood up and walked away.

Clary was sitting between Church and Isabelle so she asked what that was about. "Kaelie dated Jace for a little bit but he broke up with her and she's been trying to get with him sense."

"Oh no," Clary said without really knowing what else to say.

Clary watched the players on the field, she watched for Sebastian's number and smiled when she saw him moving down the field. Clary only barely understood the game but she did understand when Jace took off running down the field, he evaded the other players and managed to sprint his way and score a touchdown. Clary sound herself cheering with the rest of the crowd.

When the game ended with Ash winning Isabelle led the way onto the field "Whose driving home tonight?" Isabelle asked when Sebastian, Jace, Alec and Chairman joined their group on the field.

"I'll drive," Chairman said.

"I will too," Alec said.

"There's no need," Jace said, "We can just walk, well Sebastian, Clary and I can. We all live about two blocks away."

Jace, Sebastian and Clary drove home so the boys could change and they walked to the party. Clary felt a bit weird walking between Jace and Sebastian, who wore their football jackets. Jonathan's house was large and there were a lot of teenagers there. "Hey Clary," Jace said as they walked in, "Be careful if you take any drinks from anyone. You never know what could end up in them."

"Alright Jace," Clary said.

Clary stuck close to her brother as she walked into the party. She was excited and quickly found Isabelle, she figured she was in for an interesting, if not good, night as she watched Isabelle pour her a drink.
