Yay! Next chapter!

Note: FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DON'T READ ANY OF MY OTHER FANFICTIONS, I'M STARTIG SCHOOL SOON! So I won't be able to update any of my stories as frequently! Yayyyy!

Disclaimer: I own naught Itachi, Kisame, any members of the Akatsuki, or Ayu! I do, in fact own Arnold, Kevin, and Jennifer.

Ayu woke up with a pounding headache and sat up slowly, finding herself on a bed. A rather comfy bed too. She looked around, taking in her surroundings and jumped when her eyes fell on none other than Itachi Uchiha.

"Good, you're awake," he said, looking up from a book he had been reading.

"Where am I?" she demanded, standing up swiftly.

"The Akatsuki base."

"What am I doing here?"

"You're going to be a new member," Itachi said, standing up slowly. "Leader-sama already agreed to it."

"Y-you!" she pointed at him accusingly. "You brought me here!"

"Hn."

She was in rage and wanted nothing more than to rush over and beat his sorry ass, but she had more control than that. So she simply walked over to a corner and sat down, ignoring the onyx colored eyes that were following her.

"You'll be on our team," he said, a small smile playing on his lips.

"Fine," she said shortly, looking at the wall.

Itachi sighed and left the room. When she was sure he was gone, Ayu relaxed and breathed a sigh of relief. Now that he was gone, she could freely panic.

No! she stopped herself. This could be the perfect opportunity to gain intel on the enemy!

She took her time, gathering herself, thinking of a plan. There was probably no way she could send a message to Konoha, so she was on her own. She sat in that corner for the rest of the night; Thinking about what she would do, deciding the best course of action.

By the time someone opened her door the next morning, Ayu already had her plan ready in her head. "Leader-sama said that you have to eat something," came the same sighing voice that she remembered from when she fought Itachi. "You should also meet the other members."

"Fine," she stood up, walking over to the man. "What was your name again?"

"Kisame," he replied. "And you are?"

"Ayu," she replied shortly. "It'll be a pleasure working with you."

"Like-wise," was his reply. He walked out the door, expecting her to follow and she did. Step one: gain their trust. To do that, I'd need to obey every order and seem willing enough to please my higher ups.

She walked behind Kisame with her head held high, mentally preparing herself for her new partners: her new team. But no amount of mental preparations could have readied her for what waited for her in the room.

She began mentally panicking: a plant man, a weird masked-man, a blond guy who looks like a girl, a redhead, Itachi, a girl with a flower in her hair, a silver-haired guy with magenta colored eyes, a guy with stitched covering practically his whole body, and Kisame. Oh, god! I'm…there is only one other girl? Oh Jesus, I don't wanna become a plaything for these guys! Eeww!

Whatever was running through Ayu's head, she made sure to keep her face stoic. "This is the new girl," Kisame said to the room. "Ayu, this is your new team!"

She blinked. "Sup," she nodded. The group looked at her before going back to whatever they were doing before. Itachi's eyes were on her the longest, though she was oblivious to this fact. The girl with the violet colored hair wit the flower in it stood up, and walked over to Ayu, a small smile playing on her lips.

"Hello, Ayu," the girl said. "I am Konan. If there's anything you need, you can come talk with me if the boys can't help you."

"Thank you," Ayu replied graciously. "Hey, Kisame. Wanna show me to the kitchen?"

He laughed. "Sure thing, shrimp," he led her through a swingy door.

"Whoa! Everything's so…CHROME!"

Kisame laughed again. "Yeah, help yourself to the fridge."

"Got any apples?" she asked.

He nodded, pointing to a bowl on the counter. Ayu mentally cheered as she found a green apple and began eating it. She swallowed her bite, and turned back to Kisame. "I'm going to head back to my room, 'kay?"

He nodded. She shrugged and walked away. When she got back to her room, she dug through her bag, finding someone had gone through it.

She immediately dumped its contents on her bed, and began sorting through her stuff, trying to determine if anything was missing.

She had her clothes, all of her weapons, and…a flower? A rose with a note attached. The note read: My dearest Ayu, I know you do not feel the same for me, but I care for you deeply. Please stay safe. With love, Arnold.

She grimaced, placing it down on the bedside table, not noticing the note slip off and fall underneath her bed, and turned back to her bag's contents. It seemed she had everything…except…where was it?

Ayu grabbed her bag and started digging in all of its pockets, looking for it. "Where is it…?" she demanded, throwing her bag across the room after determining that it was completely empty. She started moving her stuff around on her bed, beginning to panic. "Where is it!?"

In all of her panicking, she failed to hear her door open. "Looking for something, Ayu?" a familiar voice said.

She spun around. "Itachi," she growled, noticing he held the picture. "Give it to me."

"It's funny how you kept this," he said, looking at the picture. It was of him, Ayu and Sasuke, with Sasuke in the middle. Ayu and Itachi were smiling while Sasuke was sticking his tongue out at the camera.

"It leads me to do what I have to every morning," she replied. "A certain motivation. Now, give it back or get out."

He seemed not to hear her, for his focus was on the rose that sat on her bedside table. He slowly walked over to it. "Is this…?" he asked not completing his sentence. He picked up the rose, inspecting it. "Who gave this to you?" he demanded.

"Read the note," she replied coldly, going back to packing her thing back into her backpack.

He disregarded the fact that there was no note and changed the subject. "What are you planning?" he asked Ayu.

She glared at him. "I don't know what you're talking about."

"Ayu, don't lie to me. I know you," he said. "You would never willingly betray the Leaf Village. You would never join traitors."

"I DIDN'T COME HERE WILLINGLY," she yelled before taking a deep breath to calm down. "If you hadn't noticed, you knocked me out and brought me here."

"Ayu, do you hate me?" he asked, sounding as though he really didn't care.

"Yes," she replied automatically. "I hate you with all of my heart. You betrayed the village, your clan, and me. You betrayed me, Itachi. Get out."

"Ayu-"

"Get out."

He inclined his head in a shortened nod and left the room, the rose still in his hand.

Ayu watched the door close with a soft click and waited a good five minutes before she flopped down on her bead with a loud groan. "Why me?"
