Dex's POV

I was really starting to hate this place. I was bitten by about one hundred bugs. Jason tried to give me a berry that would keep the bugs away, but Rachel wouldn't let him for some reason. Keefe, Fitz, Biana, and Sophie got so fed up with the bugs that they took the berry. A couple hours later they all stunk worse than alicorns poop. I was pretty glad that I hadn't had of the berry.

Jason and Aram were laughing there bug heads off. Wonder boy smelled like he had taken a bath in feces. The other weren't so pleasant either. Biana looked ready to throw up, "This is a cruel an unusual punishment," she shrieked, "How have we wronged you?!"

Rachel covered her nose, "I tried to warn you that the after affects were pretty interesting, but no one listened." She argued. Sophie wrinkled her nose, "You all stink."

I turned to look at her, "Hey, you don't exactly smell that a bouquet of roses either."

She blushed.

Jason explained that the berries increased your body odor tenfold. "Rachel, remember when Drake gave us the berries."

Rachel nodded and smiled, but her face also darkened. "Curse his ugliness Maldor." Jason patted her back, "It's alright, we all knew his Amar was damaged and it was only a matter of time."

Rachel grimaced, "I tried to forget, but the war was awful."

Jason and Rachel were in deep conversation. The feast had been pretty good. Biana, Fitz, Keefe, Sophie, and I didn't eat the meat, but the other food was wonderful. They had gotten us new clothes. Biana was absolutely ecstatic with the new dress she got. But the stink didn't go with the turquoise, satin, lacey, dress she was wearing.

After the feast we were all pretty acquainted with each other. Hearing the adventures of Lyrian from Rachel was one thing, but hearing the adventures of Lyrian from Jason, Rachel, and a half giant was another. I didn't think anything could surprise me after Sophie showed up, with her brown eyes, and being modeled after a alicorns, and having multiple talents and all, but no. Here I was while my friends ate stinker berries and Rachel used Edomic – or whatever it's called. Then there was the matter or the seed people. She had said something about them before, but I hadn't given them much thought.

Now that Aram explained what they were, my head was about to burst. It was theoretically impossible for people to have their lives in a seed. And the displacers? Being able to take off body parts and put them back on. Then there were also, wizards, consripters, shape shifters, metal lurkers, regular lurkers, stinky berries, giant leeches, three eyed frogs and people who are just heads.

I had a serve head ache by the time there side of the story was done. Then we explained our side of the story and Jason almost fainted, "More people who can communicate telepathically? That's not fair! Once we get back to Corrine she and Rachel will already be transmitting their lives away and I'm stuck just looking at them, and now there is more?"

Keefe chuckled, "Dude calm down I'm getting some serious vibes off of you."

Jason glared at him, "And what's with the whole vibe thing? Is he, like Pete?"

Rachel looked at him, "Who on Earth is Pete?"

"You know, like on Warehouse 13?"

"No idea what that is, and I'm pretty sure they don't have cable in the Lost Cites so… And how do you even remember stuff like that?"

Jason grinned, "I don't joke when it comes to warehouse 13."

Keefe was looking completely lost and I don't think any of us were looking any better. Jason and Rachel laughed at our faces, "Just forget everything we said okay?" Rachel said. Biana looked at her, "We had no idea what that was anyway, so I don't think it will be that hard."

We continued to walk for a bit in silence. Finally Fitz spoke, "Okay, so I think it's safe to go back to the forbidden cities now, but how do we get there?"

Jason grimaced, "We're going to the prophetess now, she lives in the jungle, she might be able to tell us the next time it is safe for you to go back."

Rachel frowned, "Jason, your family misses you. Are you sure you don't want to come back with us?"

"First, let's see if you guys end up in the same timeline?" Jason said his face neutral. Rachel nodded, "Of course," she muttered.

Then I heard a voice in my head. And leave me to pick up the pieces… again. I was still new to the whole hearing other people's voices in my head thing so I didn't know what to do. You can transmit back you know, Rachel's voice said.

No I can't! I'm not a telepath! And before I realized it I had sent a message to Rachel. You were saying?

I was pretty freaked out, How is that possible, I will again point out that I am not a telepath. Rachel faced me her eyes were smiling, Things work different here in Lyrian, a telepath in the lost cities may be different from a transmitter here.

"For example, Jason can't transmit to anyone, but Galloran (Sorry if I misspelled his name guys forgive me), while I can conduct to just about anyone when I'm in Lyrian."

I don't think Rachel had realized that she started to speak out loud. "Did I miss something?" Fitz asked.

Rachel nodded, "Yeah you missed an entire conversation."

Sophie frowned, "Telepathically? Who were you talking to?" she asked.

"Dex." Rachel said simply.

Then all eyes were on me. "Did you convey another talent?" Biana asked. I shook my head, "I don't think so."

Rachel closed her eyes. Biana screamed, "Rachel! You have to stop! You scared me to death…scratch that… you scared me half to death."

"You do realize that you can transmit back right?"

Biana concentrated, then frowned, "I don't think so."

Jason scowled, "Stop teaching them this stuff Rachel. At least with the- none telepaths we would be forced to talk to each other."

I tried to concentrate on Jason and send him a message Helloo! Anyone there?

Jason freaked, "Ah! Sorry I'm used to Galloran in my head not Dex."

"He transmitted to you?" Fitz asked.

Yeah, is there something wrong with that? I transmitted. Fitz's head shot towards me, No, it's just that…are you sure you're not a telepath? I glared at him, I think I would know if I was a telepath.

Fitz nodded, Your probably right. Then there was someone else's voice, One lesson from Rachel and your already conveying the night away. It was Jason.

I looked at him, I heard that you know.

Jason grinned, "I like this one."

"Wait, you're transmitting to him?" Rachel asked, "Jason! That's great."

Fitz was just shaking his head, what did my voice in your head leave a bad aftertaste?

"What? No!" he started; it's just that this place is all too weird. You can transmit, Biana can't, and Sophie hasn't tried, so maybe she can't. Rachel isn't even a telepath and she can get through mine and Sophie's block? My head is about to explode.

Oo, so maybe I should get out of it.

Fitz nodded.

JASAONNNNNNNN! Fitz doesn't want to talk anymore.

Yeah, I know I heard him too.

That's so cool. Now I know how it feels to transmit.

And now I know what it feels to be the one left out of the conversation. Sophie's voice entered my head.

Look who joined us, Jason said…is that what you call it?

I can't do this long, it hurts my head to transmit, but I just wanted to see if I could try. Sophie said.

Oh, well that's sad. This is actually pretty cool Jason said.

I didn't know that telepaths could talk three ways.

"That's because they can't…at least I've never seen anyone do it." Sophie said. She was rubbing her head.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

Sophie nodded, "Mostly, it hurt me to enter your head."

Keefe laughed, "Maybe because to enter someone's head they actually have to have a brain. The other's just looked at him RUDE! I conveyed. Keefe cringed and clutched his head. "Okay, okay I get it."

I smiled. Rachel's probably going to wish she hadn't showed me my newfound power.
