And now, for the next chapter! Anyway, enjoy!

Deep within the lab, Lee Lee was walking around as she was holding a clipboard, checking on each and every invention Dexter had worked on over the past few days as she had put on some safety goggles, examining each one. Dexter was nearby, raising an eyebrow as Lee Lee examined the first experiment, which seemed to be an ion generator.

"Well, how goes the research?" Dexter raised an eyebrow.

"Well, your ion generator seems to be in perfect shape." Lee Lee gave a note.

The red-haired boy genius couldn't help but scoff. "As it should."

Lee Lee and Dexter moved on to the next invention in line as there seemed to be a red potion in a test beaker. "Now, how about the Botanical Booster 2.0?"

"Let me see..." The Japanese girl said as she picked up the tube and gently put two drops next to a harmless house plant. At first, nothing had changed, but then, the plant slowly grew into a nice little daisy as Lee Lee gave a grin. "That works just fine!"

"Very good, very good..." Dexter gave a smile as he and Lee Lee were walking up to the next item in line, which was a portable silver gun-like object. "Now, how about the shrink ray?"

"Are you sure you're okay with me touching it?" Lee Lee asked.

"Go ahead. Try and shrink me down." Dexter grinned as he stood still. The Japanese girl looked at him, a little unsure, but nodded as she grabbed the ray and aimed it at Dexter.

Lee Lee shut her eyes, shaking a little nervously as she pulled the trigger attached to the ray, a light coming out of it as it started to surround Dexter, causing the boy genius to shrink. Lee Lee opened her eyes as she looked down to see a small Dexter giving a thumbs-up and motioned for her to reverse-engineer the device. The Japanese girl did so as the same light came out of the ray and surrounded Dexter before he started growing a bit taller... in fact, almost as tall as Lee Lee was. Lee Lee gave a grin as Dexter raised an eyebrow. "What?"

Dexter blinked as he realized he was now looking at Lee Lee at eye level. Dexter rolled his eyes a bit as he looked at the giggling Lee Lee. "Okay, okay, good joke, now please put me back in regular size."

"Aw, are you sure?" Lee Lee asked, raising an eyebrow. "I kind of like you this way."

"A sweet compliment, but if I'm grown or shrank too long, my imagination might run away with me." Dexter explained. "Long story involving a doll. Now, change me back now!"

"Okay, okay, sheesh." Lee Lee said as she recoiled a bit, from the way Dexter said the last word in a demanding voice. But she adjusted the ray a little and shrunk Dexter down to normal as the boy genius gave a nod.

"Ah, that's much better." Dexter gave a smile as he gave a nod. "Thank you, my lovely assistant."

Lee Lee couldn't help but giggle a little as she said, "I'm always happy to help a friend... say Dexter, do you ALWAYS invite girls to your lab?"

Dexter rolled his eyes, not getting what Lee Lee was talking about as he laughed, "Oh, ha ha. What a funny joke."

"No, I don't mean Dee Dee and me and Mee Mee occasionally, I mean... do you always invite people to your secret lab that you trust?" Lee Lee asked.

Dexter stopped for a bit as he looked at Lee Lee in surprise, before sighing. "Well... Dee Dee just discovered my lab by chance, I showed my Mom and Dad a few times, but they either were too busy or I had to wipe their memories from ever knowing about it... showing Mandark my lab was a big mistake on my part, due to the fact that I didn't know Mandark HAD his own laboratory at the time... nor would I realize he would end up being my rival... but other than that, I don't show my lab to just anyone."

Lee Lee paused as she kept following Dexter as she and the boy sat down together. "I see... just one little question, Dexter. Why exactly are you shutting yourself in?"

"What are you talking about?" Dexter asked, as if she had just asked a stupid question.

"Dee Dee, I'm sure, probably talked to you about this, but even though you have some good friends and good social skills, you prefer to work in the lab than hang out. You can't even do the most common of sports or exercise without science helping you." Lee Lee explained.

"I'll have you know that I use my brain for science and homework. I can't have time for a lot of... trivial things." Dexter rolled his eyes.

"Those trivial things may end up saving your life one day." Lee Lee sighed. "I know you're a good kid when you need to be, Dexter. I know you're a sociable person, a good son to your mom and dad, a somewhat nice brother to Dee Dee..."

"Only when she's not in the lab." Dexter pointed out.

"But when you want to work rather than play... you're just shutting yourself away from everyone, like... it's just business." Lee Lee explained.

Dexter raised an eyebrow. "Just what are you getting at?"

Lee Lee paused as she looked at the quizzingly confused boy genius, before getting an idea. "Maybe step out of the lab for a little while, lock it all up tight and secure so that nobody enters, then try to have a little fun."

Dexter sighed. "Yeah, thanks, I tried having that. I go crazy at these sort of things, I'm not a fan of sports and anytime I take a trip with my family, either to Chubby Cheese's or a roadtrip, science is always on the brain..."

"Is there any time science isn't on your brain?" Lee Lee asked.

Dexter opened his mouth, before his eyes widened in shock as he started to think. Lee Lee gave a giggle as she offered her hand. "Maybe, for once, take a break from the lab. Hang out for the day with me. What's the worse that can happen?"

Dexter looked pretty unsure at first as he looked at the girl's hand, then at the smiling girl. He knew she was Dee Dee's friend and that he would have no reason to trust her, but she seems nice and genuine, and... actually kind of a sweetheart. He took a breath as he took the girl's hand. "I suppose I'll have to wait and see..."

"Kids, lunch is ready!" Dexter's mom called from the kitchen. Dexter gave a smile as he turned to Lee Lee.

"I guess it's lunchtime..." Dexter paused.

Lee Lee grinned a little as she said, "Why don't we go down and enjoy lunch, then we can plan out our day, huh?"

Dexter gave a smile. "I always love the word 'plan'... all right..."

With a smile on his face, both Dexter and Lee Lee started to go off towards the exit of the laboratory, as Dexter called out, "Computer, keep things running and don't let anybody in while I'm gone."

"Understood, Dexter." Dexter's computer said as the two humans left, before she said, "I hope you have a happy time with your new girlfriend..."

And with that, the third chapter is out of the way! How did you guys like it? Next time, lunch with Dexter and Lee Lee, with Dexter's parents noticing quite a sweet notion between the two! What'll happen next? You'll have to wait and see! Anyway, read, review, criticize and suggest, folks!
