"I don't wanna go!" Gin whined. "Why can't I go to the church? Wouldn't the Saints 'base of operations'," She did air quotes, "Be the safest place during a massive shootout?"
"Fuck that. You have a job, you're gonna go." Jamie responded as he tossed her uniform at her.
"Please!"
"No."
She sat up, crossing her arms over her chest as she pouted. "I'm not going to change. No matter what you do I'll run to the church."
"You do that and I can take you back to live wi-"
The color drained from her face, "You wouldn't dare."
Jamie grabbed the keys off of the dresser, "Wanna bet? I don't need this fucking apartment. If I send you back I can live just fine on my own."
Gin stared up at him, trying to tell if he was serious or not. "Fine." She said, picking up her uniform and stalking into the bathroom. She glared at him as she passed, muttering, "I'll make you regret this somehow."He waited in their "new" car while Gin got ready.
Through the entire car ride she didn't say a word, simply sat with her arms crossed over her chest. When they arrived at Freckle Bitch's she turned around and flipped him off, sticking her tongue out at him in a childish manner. Jamie shook his head as he headed towards the church. There weren't very many people hanging around outside of it. None of those who were at the church were drinking or smoking, a sight that he wasn't used to. Even so, he couldn't imagine that this gang being able to do anything productive in getting rid of the other three gangs.
It was surprising to see that nearly every Saint was in a bustle of activity inside the church. They were grabbing any guns and ammo they could get their hands on while they hurried out the doors. Jamie knew that they were supposed to be going after the other gangs today but he hadn't realized it would be so quickly. It had seemed that this gang gave speeches and talked about what they were going to do instead of actually taking action. He looked around confused but no one paid him any mind.
"There's a turf war going on. If we act now we can take all of those sonsabitches out at once." Troy said to Jamie, placing a hand on his shoulder, "You got your piece?" Jamie nodded, "Good. Get Gat and drag him out to my car if you need to." Troy hurried past him.
Jamie made his way to the room that Johnny had designated as his area. There was a table that was set up with various types of weapons ranging from a couple of brass knuckles to a fully automatic SMG. Johnny was holding a shotgun up and admiring it when Jamie entered.
Johnny glanced over at Jamie before setting it down. "Shotguns are nice but this fight may require a little moreā¦Fuck it," He picked up the SMG, "This one's more fun." He pocketed the brass knuckles and a knife. "What, you need a piece?"
Jamie shook his head, holding up his NR4.
"Troy sent you?" Johnny asked, his eyes narrowing. Jamie nodded.
Johnny scowled as he rested the SMG on his shoulder. "Let's get goin' then. Those motherfukers ain't gonna kill themselves." He followed Jamie out to Troy's car and the two climbed in. Troy started telling them what he had found out about the turf war that was going down at this time. It was apparently a Los Carnales warehouse for their business in the Row. All that they needed to do was kill all the Carnales inside of the warehouse and they would have enough coke to start up their own operation. All of the buyers in the Row would be coming to the Saints, that would start getting a decent amount of money rolling in. The only issue was that they weren't the only ones trying to gain this.
There were several people running around, guns blazing as they shot anyone wearing a different color than they were. It was a bit chaotic to watch the scene playing out in front of them. When it seemed as though one gang had the upper hand a different one would start gaining the upperhand. None of the idiots were really trying to get in cover before shooting, they were all standing out in the open. All the Saints needed to do was come in and use the mass confusion to their advantage.
It was difficult for Jamie to suppress a grin as he looked at everything going on. He opened the door and got out of the car before anyone else had a chance to. No other Saint had made a move as Jamie began running towards the fighters. Troy got out of the car, swearing as he slammed the door behind him while Johnny started laughing, "You ever see someone so eager to get his ass shot?" Before he took off after Jamie, not wanting him to get all of the kills.
"Yeah," Troy responded to no one in particular as he was left behind, "You."
Jamie slowed in his pace as he took out his pistol and was taking aim at the gang members on the outside of the fight. After three were hit the gang members began looking for the new assailant. He ducked behind a couple of barrels that were scattered all over the area to have some cover. He looked up over the barrels, steadying himself as he took aim and started taking out more. It wasn't too long before Johnny was by his side, shooting blindly with his SMG.
"The hell are you doing?" Johnny yelled at Jamie as he reloaded. Jamie gritted his teeth, not sure if he could take any more lectures from these people, especially not if Johnny would be giving him a lecture about caution, when Johnny followed it up by saying, "Stop trying to take all the good kills." Jamie leaned over the top of the barrels and joined in as Johnny began firing again.
Soon other members of the Saints were there, helping the two of them out as best they could. It annoyed Jamie to see that the majority of the idiots were holding their guns sideways. Others didn't even try to take cover, they stood out in the open and fired on other gang members. No matter which gang you looked at, there were obvious greenhorns involved in the fight but it was the Saints appeared to have the most.
With the element of surprise on their side, not even the ineptitude of some of the Saints kept them from gaining the upperhand. When the gangs outside the warehouse had been taken care of the Saints that began going through, figuring out which of theirs were injured and which were dead. Troy walked over to Johnny and Jamie who were both reloading.
"The hell are you two idiots thinking?" He began berating them.
Johnny shook his head, "Shut the fuck up."
Troy glared at him, "What the hell were you two planning on doing running in there by yourselves?"
"Doing what we were supposed to, getting the coke from the LCs." Johnny spat back at him, "We ain't doin' that if we're standing out here having you try to gain control."
Jamie stalked away from the two of them, heading towards the warehouse door as the two of them argued. He grabbed a hold of the metal door and pushed it open. Troy sighed as Jamie entered the warehouse. Johnny pushed past Troy and followed after Jamie. Troy pulled out a cigarette, his hand shaking with anger as he attempted to light it.
As Jamie entered the building, he found that the main room was empty of everything besides several cardboard boxes. He moved around as quietly as he could, moving away from the open door and getting behind a column just in case there was someone inside. He began making his way towards the staircase in the center of the room, slowly and carefully.
It wasn't until he reached the stairs that the LCs finally showed themselves. He ducked behind the cement wall of the staircase as bullets ripped through the cardboard boxes behind him. He moved so that he could aim at his assailant. There was no one in his sight. Another round of bullets sent him back down to avoid getting hit.
Jamie waited until the shooting stopped then moved back into position. He aimed carefully, shooting at the column that he could see, hoping anyone hiding behind it would come out.
Johnny slid beside Jamie, "There are two on the right, one on the left." He whispered before coming out of cover. He took aim at the right and Jamie stood up and got the one on the left. When the three were down they came out of cover and headed up the stairs.
"Lucky for your ass that I came by when I did." Johnny grinned at him.
"I was doin' fine on my own." Jamie responded.
"Keep telling yourself that kid."
The two began making their way through the warehouse, shooting up anyone that they noticed in red. The warehouse didn't have as many people as they had expected inside of it. The majority of them must have been outside trying to protect the warehouse.
A quick sweep of the upper floor revealed that it was mostly empty. The two of them began searching through any containers they found for any coke. Johnny grinned when he found the bulk of the coke.
"Well, this coke ain't gonna move itself." He grabbed a couple of boxes and began heading back outside to the rest of the Saints. Jamie grabbed some as well and headed down.
By the time Jamie got outside of the building Julius had arrived. He and several Saints were helping any Saints who were injured to their feet if they could. Others had driven up to allow the ones who were too badly injured to get in without moving very much. Those that were dead were left where they lay since the injured were going to take up so much room in their few cars. There were a couple of Saints who were walking around looting bodies and shooting any wearing the wrong colors.
Others ran into the building and came back out carrying as much as they could and tossing them into the trunks of the cars. Troy sighed as he lit a cigarette, "Julius, the cops are gonna be coming here anytime now. We need to get our asses outta here."
"Aight, we're heading back to the church now playas." Julius said to the group, his voice carrying to everyone despite him not raising his voice. "We can celebrate when we're there."
There were cheers from the Saints who weren't injured as they all piled into their cars. Jamie watched as most of them sped off in the direction of the church, a bit amazed at the faith that Julius was showing in them. They all could have just driven off with the coke without him knowing.
Troy motioned for Jamie to follow him. When he got into the car Troy turned to him angrily, "What the fuck was that?" Jamie gritted his teeth together as Troy drove back to the church, launching into a diatribe about how irresponsible it was for Jamie to run off like that.
He tuned him out as best as he could, looking out the window as the sound of sirens could be heard in the distance.
"Listen, you have to think about your sister right? If you don't give a damn about any of the Saints who risk their life trying to save your ass think about her and what would happen if you died."
Jamie turned towards him, "Is that a threat?"
"I'm just saying."
"I know what I'm doing." Jamie responded shortly, turning back to the window.
Troy lit another cigarette but didn't say anything, understanding that the conversation was over. By the time they reached the church several of the Saints had already started partying. Several were drinking themselves into a stupor. Troy got out of the car and headed into the church.
A couple of the Saints jumped off the wall, one of them grabbed a hold of Jamie before he could go inside and dragged him over to them. Several slapped him on the back, handing him a beer and talking about the success of their job. Jamie took a sip and managed to slip away from them. He headed inside of the church, making his way through the Saints who were cheering him on as he passed. He didn't care much for the attention that he was receiving. It wasn't necessary.
Julius and Troy were both at the front of the church, arguing. Both of them looked annoyed. When Julius caught sight of Jamie heading towards them he stepped down and wrapped an arm around his shoulders. "You did good today, playa. Damn fine work. Hell, if we knew you was that good we probably woulda come lookin' for you a long time ago. We got some work for you to start doing, after that show you put on today expect them all trying to get you to do their dirty work."
Jamie simply nodded his head and slipped away from Julius as soon as he was able. He walked over to one of the few empty pews and sat down. With some semi-alone time, Jamie took a couple more sips of his beer.
"So," Johnny said as he sat down in the pew besides Jamie, propping his feet up on the back of the pew in front of them, "You're Julius's new boy? Well, you don't look like much but then again I don't look like I got an 8 inch cock, I guess we're both full of surprises."
Jamie leaned back, shutting his eyes, "I suppose."
"Where the fuck you learn to shoot like that? Most people who join ain't ever shot a gun."
"Military."
"No shit? The hell are you here for?" Johnny asked, surprised.
"Shit happens." Jamie muttered as he turned to look out the window at the dark sky, "I better go. Gin needs a ride."
"Woulda expected anyone related to that bitch to be as big of a pussy as she is," Johnny said as he stood up.
Jamie narrowed his eyes, "I do this shit so she don't have to."
Johnny held his hands up, "I ain't one to judge. Better teach her that all bark and no bite ain't gonna get her anywhere." He held out his hand to Jamie and helped him to his feet. "I might be callin' on you to kick some ass with the Vice Kings."
"You know where to find me." Jamie said, motioning to the church hall where he found he and Gin were starting to spend more time than he had imagined they would when he first joined.
"Fuckin' A."
Sorry about this taking so long for me to finish. It's not the greatest and I scrapped this chapter several times but I finally managed to type out something that seemed decent.
