The Fighter!
Lucy giggled at Gray's realisation; she couldn't believe that he actually didn't recognise her.
"W-What? H-H-How?" The Raven haired man questioned.
"Levy-Chan, Wendy-San and Erza gave me a make-over!" Lucy smiled warmly at Gray, who in return smiled back.
"Wait; did you just say E-RU-ZA?" He asked her whilst very obviously shaking.
"Yes, she's more beautiful than what the rumours lead her to be!"
"NO! HOW CAN A MONSTER LIKE THAT BE BEAUTIFU-"
"Good morning, Gray." A voice said from behind him. Gray shuddered at the sound of the familiar voice.
"Why don't you continue what you were saying?"
"E-Erza…" A dark aura radiated from the scarlet haired woman.
A few moments later Gray was on the ground, unconscious.
"Good Morning, Lucy" Erza said with a small smile gracing her lips.
"G-Good Morning, E-Erza…" Lucy stuttered, partially because of Erza's strength and also because she wasn't sure if Gray was alive anymore.
A bell echoed throughout the halls, warning the students that it was Homeroom. The supposed unconscious Gray, jumped up, completely unharmed.
"What the- How are you uninjured? Erza just beat you within an inch of your life and you just jump up without even a scratch!?" Lucy yelled/questioned.
Gray began to brush himself off whilst smiling eccentrically at Lucy
"Magic" Gray said before entering the room.
Erza calmly entered the room like nothing had happened. Lucy sighed before waving goodbye to her to friends. She was sort of disappointed that she didn't know anyone in her Homeroom. She entered the extravagant room that was identical to the others in the hall. She was only a few doors down from her friends but she still felt lonely.
Lucy sat right at the back of the room next to the window, blankly staring at the flowerbeds below.
"Heartfilia? Miss Heartfilia? LUCY!" The teacher shouted, bringing the girl out of her trance.
"Sorry…" She apologised to the unnamed teacher who she never really payed attention to.
"Miss Heartfilia, please listen out for your name next time!" The teacher stated.
"Yes ma'am…" Lucy said as she once again tuned out.
The teacher sighed then smiled as she shook her head and continued with the roll.
She decided to pull out her book because there was still another 15 minutes left and the flowers didn't seem like they were doing anything.
Lucy utterly loved this book; it was called 'The Starry Heavens'. It was a matured version to the one she loved as a child.
She loved stars, more than the world.
Lucy only got in another page or two before the bell rang, hauling her back into the real world. She placed the book back into her bag and headed for her first class: English!
She walked through the crowded halls, keeping to the right, next to the giant windows that looked over the overlooked a small area where students ate lunch, it was also used as a space for class (due to the overwhelming amount of students, some classes were outside).
The blonde heard shouts in the distance, from what she heard it sounded like someone was running through the crowd. She decided to just ignore them. As the footsteps passed her, she continued to be oblivious.
That was until she saw a flash of pink.
Her eyes followed the figure and found out that it was a boy.
"A boy with pink hair…" She giggled at the thought.
"Must have lost a bet" She smiled to herself as she turned into her classroom.
She looked up at her seat and saw Gray comfortably sitting behind her usual spot.
'So he has claimed that spot as his now!' She thought to herself.
She smiled when she realised that Gray had chosen to sit behind her. She shook her head when something not-to-innocent slipped into mind. To her dismay her face began to turn red and her temperature continued to rise as she slapped her cheeks trying to get impure thoughts out of her head.
"Miss Heartfilia?" Lucy jumped at the sound of her name. She turned to see her teacher awkwardly standing behind her and realised she was blocking the hallway.
Muffled laughs echoed throughout the room as Lucy stepped backwards a few steps and bowed.
"I'm so sorry Sir…" She apologised to the male teacher.
"Uhh… Haha it's okay, just please take your seat…" Lucy hurried over to her desk, stumbling over her feet several times; a few muffled giggles could be heard around the room, Gray shooting glares at each and every one of them.
She finally made it to her chair and let out a thankful sigh.
'Thank GOD! I didn't face-plant!' She thought to herself as she laid her head on the desk.
She heard an attractive chuckle from behind her and her face turned pink mainly from embarrassment but also because his laugh was just… Wow. Lucy sat up straight and cleared her throat trying to rid herself of her pink face which, luckily for her, succeeded.
She pulled out her books and her pencil case from her shoulder bag and neatly placed them on the desk, immediately taking notes.
"Lu-Chan!" Levy whisper-shouted from the seat in front of her. Lucy looked up to the sound of her name and although he didn't avert his eyes from the flower beds outside the window, Gray put all his attention to the whispering girls.
"Are you okay?" Levy asked quietly.
"Yes, you left a bit quickly yesterday…" Wendy added from beside her.
Gray furrowed his brow in worry, this conversation made him a bit concerned.
"I'm fine…" Lucy said a bit too sadly, her head was bowed and her eyes were dark.
This made her three friends worry a bit too much; Lucy saw this and lifted her head straight away, a smile plastered on her face.
"I'm fine, it was just a headache."
The three felt a bit relieved over her words.
"Lu-"
"Miss McGarden, Miss Heartfilia, Miss Marvell; please pay attention!" The teacher yelled strictly.
"We're very sorry!" Wendy replied quickly.
"Sorry, Sir, we'll pay attention!" Levy stated.
The teacher was about to yell again, that was until he saw Lucy's face.
'Just this one time…' He thought to himself.
"Good" He simply said before calling on a person to read.
Lucy felt horrible for what she just did, but it wasn't time for them to know yet. She felt Gray staring into her back again, but this one was different. It wasn't for amusement but it almost felt like he was concerned. Lucy just shook off the feeling and payed attention to the book.
"Miss Heartfilia, the next paragraph."
"Yes!"
oOoOoOo
The bell rang, symbolising the end of first period; next was History. Levy and Erza were in the same class as Lucy so at least she wouldn't be alone.
"Bye Wendy, see you at break! Bye Gray!" Lucy shouted to her two friends. Wendy waved goodbye with a big smile and Gray waved as well, but just before he turned his back, he smiled at Lucy.
'Is he worried about me? No he couldn't be…' Lucy thought to herself.
She turned to the eccentric bluenette who was waving excessively at their friends.
"Let's go!" Levy said excitedly.
A few moments later the Scarlet haired girl caught up with them. Levy and Erza began to chat but she just blocked them out and stared through the great windows at the area below.
At that moment she caught a glimpse of pink and there it was, the pink haired boy who had passed her this morning. It looked like he was doing Martial Arts, experimenting with different holds on a mannequin and by the looks of it he was really good, better than good actually, he was amazing!
"Hey Erza, Levy, who is that guy?" She said pointing down at the courtyard, overcome with curiosity.
"Huh? Oh that's Natsu Dragneel!" Levy stated.
"Wait do you mean-"
"Yes, he is THE Salamander." Erza said, interrupting Lucy mid-sentence.
Natsu Dragneel otherwise known as 'Salamander'. He was famous for his skills in hand-to-hand combat. Becoming a champion at a young age, he has set world records in many different leagues. His Father, Igneel Dragneel, is noticed as the best Martial Artist in the world. He was given the name Salamander not only because of his crazy hair, but also because the way he fights is like a Fire Dragon's Roar: Destroying everything in its path.
Lucy looked down at the pink haired Salamander and it just so happens that, at that moment, Natsu decided to look up, catching the Blonde's gaze. They stared at each other for what seemed like forever, not even blinking once, it was beyond enchanting.
"Lucy, we have to go now." Erza said, catching her attention. The girl nodded at her friend and began to walk away but not before she looked just one more time.
She walked down the halls with her two friends.
'Interesting…' She thought to herself.
'Wait a second… DID HE JUST WINK AT ME!?'
oOoOoOo
Gray walked down the halls with his small bluenette friend thinking about the conversation from earlier.
'Fine, huh?' He thought to himself.
'Lucy Heartfilia… You are a terrible liar…'
