Look who's back! It took me a while to drag this out of me. I decided to slow things down in this story, I know that may mean somewhat boring chapters but I didn't want the future romance to be really rushed.

I hope you don't hate me for making you wait for so long. I hope my writing skills are still up to par, and you like it!

Chapter 4

The Music Room

Twirling the writing apparatus between his slim fingers as Len sat at his desk. Clicking his tongue in boredom. Len stopped listen to the teacher within the first five minutes. It's not like he even cared anyway. He actually planned to skip this class. However, one of the teachers watching the school grounds caught him climbing out a window. It had only been two weeks since school started and they kept him on a light leash. Reining him in closer if he misbehaved. It was nauseating how his every move was watched. Couldn't even piss in peace. His eye lids became heavy as the teacher droned on. Turning into a dull garble of words he could make out as he drifted off.

Len didn't stir from his nap until the warning bell rang. All the students gathering their textbooks and other supplies, chatting probably about stupid things and preparing for next class. Len groaned, everyone was so fucking loud. Getting up, he left the classroom. He figured he should get some fresh air. The building was so stuffy.

Once stepping outside he was basked in the bright sunlight. The air was clean as fresh rain. Wandering around the campus he came across the old school building. Some bricks had fallen out of place on the exterior. They only built the new school recently but the old building was still somewhat used for afterschool clubs.

He approached the front door, jostling the handle to no avail. Guess you need a key. He continued to roam around the building until he caught that one of the windows hadn't been fully closed. He pried it open wide enough for him to slip inside.

He hopped in the old classroom with a thud as his feet contacted the floor. The desks were worn out and very old. The edges of the wood were chipping. People scratched graffiti onto the surface. Names and dates were etched with pen. The chalkboard, you could still see traces of words even though they had been wiped away. Len opened the classroom door to the hallway.

Len walked down the empty halls, wandering with no destination in mind aimlessly. His feet stopped at the sight of a sign outside a room hidden on the far corner of the third floor of the rarely used old school building on campus mostly used for clubs after school.

'Music Room'.

Len carefully slid open the well used door. A soft light poured through the windows, casting golden spots on the hardwood flooring. The room looked hardly used or at least someone cleaned it thoroughly each time it was used. Music stands were pushed to the side of the room, a few instrument cases littered the corner and the Treble clef scale still remained on the chalkboard.

In the middle of the room sat an Ebony Steinway & Sons Grand Piano. Slowly approaching the instrument. Tentatively tracing his fingers across the ivory keys with feather light touches. Len walked around the bend before sitting himself down on the leather cushion. He shifted the seat slightly closer to the piano. He stared at the keys, a silent ambience beckoning him. Hesitantly, he raised his hand and pressed down a key. The raw sound sent a shiver down his spine. Placing his second hand on the piano, memory ran through his fingers as he began to press the keys down in a uniform manner.

The sound stifling away any silence into a resonating sound. Starting out piano and gradually swelling into a crescendo of mezzo piano to Forte as it picked up the tempo. Fingers caressed the notes, lightly bouncing in passion. The tune registered in Len's mind as Beethovens Melody of Love. His fingers tensed and he stopped. The music lingering in the air in a dull hum until it turned quiet.

Len leaned his elbows on the keys making a horrendous clash of different notes playing that shouldn't ever be heard by human ears. Leaning his head on his clasped hands. His brow furrowing together as a memory appeared in his mind.

"Sensei!" The bright blue-eyed boy looked up at the older gentleman who shared the piano bench with his, "I think I got it!"

The boy began to play, his fingers dancing across the aged piano keys that had begun to turn into a yellowed hue. Pouring his soul into what he played. They called him a musical prodigy but he only played because he loved it. It wasn't to be the best, or to impress. It was only for the joy it brought to play music.

He played the final chords and slowly lifted his fingers from the keys.

The boy smiled a toothy smile, his fluffy blonde hair resting over his closed eyes.

"Len," The males voice was like velvet, "This will be our song."

Len opened his eyes and stared into striking violet irises. Slightly tilting his head quirking his brow. "Our song?"

"Yes. Every time you hear it you will only think of me." He rested his palm high up on Lens short clad thigh.

"S-sensei?" The young boy stuttered.

The purple eyed man placed his other hand on the young boys cheek, stoking his thumb across it. Leaning in closer until his lips pressed against the young boys. Blue eyes open wide both from shock and fear. He pushed away the older man, covering his mouth with the back of his hand.

"W-what're you doing?"

"You don't like it?" He stroked Lens hair.

Lens eyes became downcast, "We're both boys…it's weird." Len spoke barely above a whisper.

"You like me though, right?" He pushed.

"Of course I like Sensei!" Len declared.

"As well do I like you. Isn't this what you do with someone you like?" He inquired.

Lens cheeks were dusted a very light pink. "I don't know." He felt so confused. Of course he really liked Sensei. He'd known him for a long time and was the one who taught him piano. Somehow it felt right but it also felt terribly wrong to him. Like he shouldn't be doing this.

"It's okay, Len. It's okay to be scared of these feelings. I only ask one thing of you."

"What's that?" Len asked.

"To trust me."

Len deliberated for a moment, "Ok." The violet eyed man went in to steal another kiss.

What could possibly go wrong?

Len aggressively stood up slamming the piano keys down with aggression.

"Fuck." He muttered.

Pounding his fist repeatedly into piano's keys till his hand felt like it was about to break.

"Fuck." He spoke louder.

Kicking aside the bench, it toppled over with the force onto its side.

"FUCK." He shouted.

Len moved towards one of the empty dark corners of the room. Slumping against the wall, sliding down until he reached the floor. He pressed the palm of his hand to his eye and brought his knees into himself.

He needed to calm down.

"Fuck." He chocked out.

They parted lips once more. The violet-eyed man spoke first. "You must tell no one. They won't like to hear that you've kissed a boy.

"Why?" Len didn't know why it'd be so bad to tell anyone.

The man sighed. "They won't understand. However Len, there is nothing wrong with doing this with another boy okay? It is beautiful in its own way and is very special. Okay?"

"Ok!" Len sheepishly smiled.

Len laughed darkly. 'How naïve I was back then' He thought to himself.

Len continued to sit there. He watched the room turn from a soft yellow tone to a rich orange hue. There was no will left him to move.

The classroom door burst open to Lens surprise, making him jump at the sudden sound. An older lady walked through the door. Her brown hair just passed her jaw. Her red blouse fit snugly as did her straight-legged black dress pants. The moment their eyes connected she nearly jumped out of her skin.

"Jeez! You scared the crap out of me!"

Len stands up from the corner, his legs stiff from sitting for who knows how long.

"Sorry, I was just leaving." Len muttered as he attempted to leave the room, trying his best to ignore the feeling of pins pricking all up his leg every time he took a step.

The lady clicked her tongue, "Tch. What a mess. Did you do this?" Len looked at the woman who gestured to the knocked over bench.

"Ah, uh," Len sheepishly scratched the back of his head, "Yeah."

The two made eye contact, her facial features were stoic before she grabbing the bench, "Don't screw around with stuff that isn't yours." She spoke solemnly as she rearranged the heavy leather cushioned bench.

"Sorry." Len turned to leave once more.

"Nah, it's okay. You don't have to worry about that. Wait, where are you going? Wasn't there are reason why you came here?" The lady called out to Len.

Len had his hand placed on the door. He thought for a moment. "Not particularly."

"Then how about you help me with these?" Before Len had time to react an armful of papers were dumped in his arms.

"What the fu-"

"Ah, ah, ah language youngster." She waved her finger in front of his face.

"Why do I have to carry all this crap?"

The lady stretched taking her time before answering, "You wouldn't want weary ol' me to carry all those would you? These creaky bones of mine just won't have it." Her voice changed to sound that of an old man grasping onto his aching back leaning onto his cane.

Len stared unconvinced.

Straightening her posture she placed her finger to her lips. "How about you become my assistant and then you can come in here whenever you want?"

"Assistant?" Len crinkled his nose.

"I won't tell other teachers you've skipped."

"Deal."

"Then it's settled!" She dramatically posed, her finger pointed to the sky and then pointing it at Len. Her other fist clenched her legs shoulder width apart. "You have officially been appointment as my assistant. Huzzah!" Her chocolate eyes rich with enthusiasm. "Now follow me!" She gestured him to follow.

Len complied.

"Ah!" The lady came to halt. Len nearly ramming into her and dumping everything onto the floor. She turns around and gets into his face. "I never properly introduced myself have I?"

"Uhh-"

"I am Meiko-San. You can just call me Meiko-Sensei or just Sensei. I don't really care. I major in Classical Music. I teach Music and Literature."

"Uh, I guess I'm Le-"

"I already know who you are Len Kagamine. You are quite the talk amongst the student body. First year delinquent with blonde hair and blue eyes. Except, I don't see the big hype. You're all bark no bite. Nothing but a little softy." Meiko ruffled his hair with a big dopey grin on her face.

"So what exactly am I being an assistant for?" He blew the hair obscuring his vision out of his face. Ignoring the short joke as best as he could. Len tried to steer away from the direction their conversation was going. Meiko didn't seem to notice.

"Well, things have been a little chaotic this year for the Music Club. Along with the new administrative buildings and school building, we were given a new a brand new recording studio. Most of the recruits would rather be there than this shabby old building with limited facilities. It's a shame though. So many great things were born from that small music room. They're all about fame now. Everyone wants to be making demos rather than being a group of people with the same passion working together." Meiko sighed before she continued.

"For the time being you're going to help me move some things from here to the new studio. Do errands and the sort. It'll only be Wednesdays so don't get you're panties in a bunch."

"I-I don't wear panties."

"Heee." Meiko Sensei poked his cheek. "Suuuuuuure you don't. Why so red? Hmmm. Tell me, are they white?" She gets close and whispers near Lens ear.

"This is harassment."

"Ah, you're no fun. Loosen up kid." She laces her fingers together behind her head and walking in long strides.

'Easy for you to say psycho lady.'

The easily cross the campus to the new, barely used building. Meiko pulled out a ring of assorted keys before picking out the correct one and unlocking the door. Pushing it open, she held it for Len to pass, not without a gentlemanly gesture. "After you."

Len pouted, this teacher was really out of her mind. He stepped into the threshold of the building. The design was quite simplistic. Most walls were a flat crème colour with beige linoleum flooring and chestnut sliding doors.

The two walked in silence down the school corridor.

"Here we are." She announced as she opened the door. "You can just set those papers over there for now." Her extended finger points to a bare desk. Len was more than happy to put down the papers that were beginning to strain his arms.

Dim light cascaded down from the high ceiling. Soft, carpeted floor sank ever so slightly underneath Lens weight. Each wall was themed with a specific colour, one was black, another was stripped sea green and a charcoal hue. Too the back wall was a long black couch to lounge on. This room was pretty fricking rad in Lens opinion.

"Len come over here. I want you to meet someone." Len looked over at Meiko sensei standing in front of the audio interface. Beside her was a lanky dude, with pink hair past his jawline and bedroom eyes. His toque* sat far back on his head as he wore bulky headphones, probably pushing the fabric back. Once he notices Len he takes off the headphones and lets then sit around his neck.

"Len, this is Yuma, he's our tech guy. He also produces some of his own demos, but of the time he mostly works the Mixer for us. Len is going to be helping around the Music Club from today onwards." Meiko sensei grins broadly of her accomplishment.

"Hey." Len approaches the stranger cautiously.

"Yo." He two finger salutes Len.

"Now I hope you two play nice and get along."

"How's she coming along?" Meiko quietly asked Yuma.

"Fine. I don't think much more needs to be done. We're going to try for a couple more final recordings to get the right sound."

Len tuned out of their conversation, his attention moving towards the girl on the other side of the wall length window. Long two toned hair, platinum blonde and accents of the faintest pink, barely touching the floor. Her expressions were soft as she sang out her voice Len presumed.

"Who's that?" Len interrupts the others conversation.

Yuma is the first to speak, "That's IA, want to listen?" He removed the headphones from his neck to pass it to Len.

Len reluctantly took them and put them on. The sounds emitted from the speakers exploded in his ears. It was mysterious, futuristic, strong, extraterrestrial. Her voice smooth as velvet, yet it held a certain firmness of power. Unique, everything was so unique about the sound invading his eardrums.

"Wow. She's amazing."

Yuma chuckled, "You don't have to remind us."

"She's hoping to show her demo to a studio and get labeled by a company." Meiko sensei spoke. Pulling out her phone she checked the time before she tsked, "We should wrap things up soon, it's getting pretty late and we don't want to drag things on for too long."

Yuma simply grunted.

Once IA appeared to have stopped singing Yuma pressed a button to a mic connected to the other room, "Alight IA, I think that's good for today." IA made eye contact with Yuma before nodding.

Not much later IA entered the room where the rest of them were gathering their things to leave.

IA starred at Len with blank stare, making Len feel immensely uncomfortable under her gaze. 'Maybe she doesn't like me.' Len thought.

"IA, I wanted to introduce you to Len. He's going to be assisting us in the club from now on."

IA looked at Len straight on before bowing, "Hello, please take care of me Len-kun." Len couldn't help but be surprised at how formal she was.

"Hi, same here IA-san." Len bowed his head ever so slightly.

"I must take my leave. Thank you for your time Yuma." She turns to Yuma.

"Don't mention it." Yuma shoved his hands into the pockets of his jersey resembling sweater.

"Have a safe trip home Sensei."

"See you IA." Meiko waved to her until she left the room.

"I guess I'll go too then." Yuma made his way to leave.

"Ok, bye!"

Meiko sensei huffed out as soon as the two were alone. "Sorry about their awkwardness. Those two aren't the most social of the bunch but they're kind nonetheless. They'll warm up in no time. On another note, next week will the first official club gathering. You'll get to meet some more interesting characters. Don't worry they're all nice so you don't have to be such a stiff okay Len?" She raps Lens shoulder with her fist gently. "Make sure to be here Wednesdays at 4 p.m. alright?"

"Yeah." Len rubs the spot where Sensei hit him even though it didn't hurt.

Both of them left the building. The sky was becoming a blue-ish purple as the sunset started to fade over the horizon. Luckily it still was fairly warm at night, though that wasn't going to last for much longer. Meiko put away her jangling keys once she locked the door.

"Do you want me to drive you home? It was somewhat my fault that you're still on school grounds to this hour." Meiko offered.

Len shook his head. "No, I actually have somewhere I wanted to go."

Meiko gave Len a soft smile, "If you say so. Have a good night."

"You too."

"Make sure you do all your homework!" Len barely took ten steps when he heard that. Len looked over his shoulder to see Sensei broadly grinning.

"What are you my mom?" Len interjected. She simply laughed. "Actually, is it still okay if I go to the old music room sometimes?"

The look on Meikos face was slightly surprised before it softened into a gentle smile. "Sure."

"Thanks."

Len couldn't help but smile to himself. He started to walk towards his destination and off the dreaded school grounds. Things were getting interesting. Yet, he couldn't help but feel uneasy.

A/N

*Toque: In America and I'm pretty sure everywhere else in the world would know this by the terms knit cap/ski cap/wool hat/winter hat or whatever you may call it. In Canada we call these Toques, not sure why but we do. I only learnt in recent years we were the only country that called them this. I just find it odd to call it something different because that's what it has been since I was a kid.

I'm so sorry that Kaito didn't make an appearance in this chapter. He was supposed to, but like I said I didn't want to rush the romance and drama, so I decided on bringing in more characters and working on setting. Seriously this Meiko thing with the Music Club was a spur of the moment thing. I didn't plan on Len being associated with anything music related, not yet anyway.

Don't hate me for making the characters the way they are. Meiko is how she is because I wanted a fun character and that she is, I all hope you like this version of her as much as I do!

I didn't proof read this that well, so if there are errors or things make no absolute sense feel free to let me know in a review or just private message me.

Thank you for all the reviews, favourites and follows. They are all greatly treasured and I'm sorry I'm such a terrible updater, and probably will continue to be XD.
