Shippo and Kirara snuck in the room Kurosuki was in. They were careful not to make a sound as they crept around the futon and sat next to her. They took a closer look at her and saw her dog ears and tail, which twitched a little when he lightly poked them. "Wow Kirara... She's pretty isn't she?" Shippo whispered to her. Kirara mewed quietly in agreement. She then sniffed her face and cuddled up beside her. Shippo noticed that Kurosuki moved a little bit and started to panic. "No Kirara! You'll wake her up! Get away!" He harshly whispered. What they didn't realize was that Kurosuki was already awake. She had her eyes closed and heard the little fox and cat demon talk somewhat quietly. She was still dizzy a little and wondered if she imagined it. But then she felt something warm and furry snuggle around her cheek. At this point she decided to open her eyes, seeing a cat demon purring while looking at her.
"Oh no! Kirara you woke her up!"
Kurosuki looked at the fox demon as he swiftly grabbed the cat and held her, Stuttering and shaking a little. The cat just rolled her eyes and jumped out of his arms to sit next to him. Kurosuki stared at them for a while longer, a dazed look in her eyes caused from the after affects of the Spider Rat poison. "Hey um... you alright Kurosuki?"
"Hm? Uh, um... yeah. Just tired... Who are you two?"
"Oh! I'm Shippo. And this is Kirara. Um, sorry to wake you up..."
Kurosuki lightly shook her head and rubbed her temples, slowly regaining her senses. "No, it's fine. Were you the one's that saved me?" Shippo shook his head and smiled, relived that she was alright. "We didn't. My friend Inuyasha saved you. He found you deep in the forest with a nasty wound on your leg. But my other friend Kagome gave you some antidote for it." Kurosuki could've sworn she heard that name before, then her eyes got wide, remembering a half-demon named Inuyasha that saved her. "Inuyasha... He's the one that helped me." Shippo nodded his head. "Yup! He did! He also said something was strange about you."
"He did?" "Yeah. He said the reason you smelled like a pure human was because you were born under a Blue Moon. I don't get it but I can tell that you are a hanyou just like him." Kirara mewed in agrement and jumped on Kurosuki's lap, purring. She smiled and petted the little cat demon. (Hm, I guess my secret is out. Just great...) "Hey, where am I anyway Shippo?"
"In Kaede's Village. She's the old Miko who cares for everyone here." Kurosuki nodded and looked around the room. She smelled the humans that were here and her doggie ears flattened against her head. Shippo noticed this and patted her arm gently. "Don't worry Kuro-chan, my human friends don't mind that you're here. Inuyasha, Kirara, and of course me protect the village." He puffed out his chest and grinned, making the female hanyou chuckle and pet his head. "So, /you/ also protect these humans? I'm sorry but I find that hard to believe." "Hey I do you know!" She laughed and put Kirara down and tried to stand up. She wobbled a little bit before regaining her balence. Shippo tried to stop her, saying she's still weak from the poison's after effects. Kurosuki waved him off and said she's fine. She walked slowly out the door, the little demons following just to make sure she doesn't hurt herself again. Kurosuki breathed in the fresh air and stretched out her muscles, feeling better than she ever felt. "Kuro-chan? You sure you should be walking?" "Yes Shippo, I'm fine. Really. My leg feels better than ever. See?" She shook her leg a little and winced when she felt the wound stretch a little. "Ok, almost better than ever..." Kurosuki began walking towards the main part of the village, Kirara closely following. "Well, okay..." Shippo still didn't want her walking but shrugged and followed her anyways.
Kurosuki didn't like being in human villages. But this one felt safe to be in. The humans that walked past her either said hello or lightly bowed at her. It felt strange, usually humans would try to kill her at the sight of her, but these acted so friendly and kind to her. One even gave her some meat buns and smiled at her, even though she didn't have any money, the owner said it was free. She thanked the man and even smiled a little. It was amazing, the humans in this village were so kind to her. An outsider and a hanyou. Shippo and Kirara both grinned at each other, knowing that Kurosuki was happy to be in a safe place. Even though she didn't show it. She walked outside the village and sat on a hill, the smell of the meat buns making her hungry. She rarely ate and her last meal was two weeks ago. So when she saw those delisious looking meat buns she didn't hesitate to devour one.
"They're good huh? Michiro makes the best meat buns ever!" Said Shippo.
"They are good!" She noticed both the fox and cat demon eyeing some of the buns and giggled, offering them one each. Of course she was surprised to see them scarf them down within minutes. "You two love these huh?" They both nodded, their mouths full of food at the moment. After they finished eating they layed on the grass and relaxed. Kurosuki felt for the first time in ages content and safe in a village. She hasn't had that feeling since she was a little puppy. She closed her eyes as her mind wandered back to that time, where she was with her human father and Dog demon mother. They were living in a village that her mother protected from rouge demons and bandits. She smiled remembering those times of happiness she had. Kurosuki was so lost in those memories that she didn't sense a certain white-haired hanyou walk towards them. Along with a young Miko, Demon Slayer, and Monk.
"So this is where you all are." said Kagome.
Kurosuki opened her eyes to see the group of humans smiling at her. Kirara woke up from her nap and jumped on Sango's head, causing her to giggle while Shippo jumped on Kagome's shoulder. "Kurosuki, are you alright? I know you've been poisoned but you should come back to rest more." Kagome was worried when Kurosuki wasn't in the hut. She was worried that Kurosuki might rip open her leg wound, so she and the other's went looking for her. The young female Hanyou slowly stood up and stared at them warily. Even though they were kind enough to treat her leg wound and let her stay, she didn't trust them. "You must be Kagome right?" Kagome nodded and noticed the leery expression and walked closer to her. "I'm Kagome. I'm glad to see you are feeling better. If it wasn't for Inuyasha who knows what'll happen." Kurosuki glanced at the male Dog hanyou, then back at her. She didn't trust him either. He was a man and she didn't trust men or humans. "Um, thanks for helping me. Even though I would've survived without your help."
"Feh! Fat chance of that happening. You were practically dead the moment I found you." Inuyasha rolled his eyes after seeing her glare at him.
"Inuyasha that's not nice." Miroku said as he walked towards her. Kurosuki stared at him and put her guard up, these may be nice humans but she felt crowded by them and didn't like it. "Hello Kurosuki. I'm Miroku and this is my friend Sango. I've have to say I'm glad-"
"You can stop right there Monk." She interupted the Monk. "You all may have saved me and I thank you for it. But I don't trust any of you." "What about us Kuro-chan?" Asked Shippo. "I like you and Kirara so you two I trust." Shippo smiled and leaped from Kagome's head and onto Kurosuki's shoulder. Kirara did the same thing which made Sango smile. "Oh, well I complectly understand! We're all just glad to see you walking again." Sango noticed that Miroku was trying to be a little too friendly with her, and her claws were extended ready to strike, so she grabbed his hand and told him that Grandma Kaede needed help with some things. "We'll see you all later tonight! Come on Miroku..." "Hey wait! I wanted to ask her something!" Yelled Miroku as he was being dragged. Kurosuki watched them leave and looked at Inuyasha, who was shaking his head while Kagome giggled at her friends. "Inuyasha was it? Shippo told me that you knew I was born under a Blue Moon. How do you know about that?" He looked at her and told her that his friend Myoga explained to him about Blue Moon half breeds and what'll happen if they're born under a blue moon. "I see. Great... Listen you all better keep my secret or else." Inuyasha grinned and folded his arms. "Calm down girl, we wont tell."
"My name is Kurosuki, not girl."
"Inuyasha may not look it but he's trustworthy and responsible when he wants to." Said Kagome. "Jeez Kagome really?" He sighs and Kagome giggles at this expression. Kurosuki was still staring at them and looked around, noticing the sun is starting to set in a few hours. "Hey um, I still can't run or walk that well... so... um... you dont mind if I stay here for a while longer?" She hated asking people, especially humans and other demons for help. But her leg was bothering her and she couldn't leave anytime soon. "Of course you can Kurosuki. Is your leg hurting?" Asked Kagome. "Yeah it is a little..." Kirara mewed and nuzzled her cheek, making her chuckle a little. "Let's go back to Kaede's hut, I have some more of that medicine I made that'll work." Said Kagome as Kurosuki nodded and walked ahead of them. "Kuro-chan I told you to stay home but you didn't listen." Shippo poked her cheek and she started laughing, saying she should've as Kagome and Inuyasha walked behind her. "Inuyasha I feel alot of distrust from her... Something must've happened before you found her in the forest." "Yeah, I was watching how she was reacting when Miroku stepped closer to her. Good thing Sango dragged him away or he would've been dog food by now." Kagome sighed and lightly punched Inuyasha's arm, making him laugh a little. "Well, hopefully she'll tell us what happened. Spider Rats live in the mountains and if she got attacked by one that means they're closer to this village..."
"They're not here so no use in worrying." Said Inuyasha.
"Yeah you're right..." Kagome said as she yawned. Inuyasha watched Shippo talk about random things to Kurosuki on their way back to the hut. He lightly sniffed the air and noticed that same Sweet bitter smell coming from Kurosuki has gotten stronger. (I wonder what that smell is? It smells strangely nice... like flowers...) He realized what that scent was and quickly shook his head. A light blush spread across his face. Kagome noticed this and asked him what was wrong. He replied that it was nothing and he was just a little tired from eariler. She shrugged and went into the hut while Inuyasha jumped and sat on the roof. If that scent was what he thought it was, then he was in trouble...
"Just what I fucking need... a bitch in heat out of all times...ugghh!"
