Kind of short-ish chapter, mostly about Kaldur and M'Gann. Don't worry, the next chapter will have some more action. And Sue #3. ovo

Thanks for the review. Yeah, MM and Aqualad will be the real heroes in this story. It's not gonna be all that dramatic, though. And thanks again! Doodled it real quick.

Disclaimer: I own nothing but the Mary Sue.

Kaldur didn't sleep too well that night. He was worried about his friends, and even about himself. He saw no reason to trust Ookami. The whole thing just seemed fishy to him...

The Atlantean was up shortly after the sun rose, holding back a yawn as he stepped into the kitchen, freshly showered and fully dressed. M'Gann was up as well, trying to cook breakfast. She had gotten better over the last few weeks, barely burning anything anymore, Kaldur thought as he smiled at her, glad to meet his friend alone.

"Good morning, M'Gann. How did you sleep?" He asked her calmly as he got himself a glass of water, taking a sip. Looking quite tired, she put two slices of bread into the toaster, yawning behind her arm.

"Not too long. That whole... story kind of kept me awake..." She looked at the toaster heating up for a moment. Then her head jerked back up and she smiled back at him. "How about you?"

The boy just nodded for a few seconds, holding up a hand to rub his temples and rub down his face in a rather tired fashion.

"I couldn't sleep either. Well, I think I caught an hour or so, but I laid there awake for most of the night."

The Martian girl sighed softly as she cracked some eggs into a frying pan, listening to the satisfying noise as the egg-whites met the hot grease. As the slime liquid turned white, she threw the egg-shells away, wiping her hands even though she hadn't used them.

"So... I have no idea what we could do. I thought about... her, and about that thing we fought yesterday. Right as she escaped, I heard her sa- think one thing."

She bit down on her lip, looking a little uncomfortable as she remembered the line she had heard in her head.

"Beware the Mary Sue. The Author will be back." M'Gann spoke as she put some bacon into the frying pan. "That's what I heard..."

Her friend leaned back against the counter casually, an apple in one hand, a knife in the other as he started to cut it into pieces. A slightly troubled expression came over his face.

"What do you think that means?" He heard the Martian ask as she put eggs and bacon on four plates, getting the bread out of the toaster and putting it on two of them, before making more toast. Kaldur shrugged as he put apple slices on the plates.

"To be honest, I have no idea. I suspect that 'The Author' is her name, or rather her alias. If it truly is, it probably means that we will have to deal with her again.."
He washed his hands and dried them off as Miss Martian let the plates float on top of the counter, putting cutlery next to them. She then stepped out of the kitchen, scratching the back of her head a little awkwardly.

"Well... I'll see if Conner and... Ookami are ready."
As she went away, Kaldur just sighed and put some other things on the counter before taking a seat, rubbing his face tiredly.

"Oh dear..."

They were. A few minutes later, they were all seated at the counter. Ookami, who was wearing her tiny little outfit she had on yesterday again, had quickly gotten between Conner and Kaldur, so M'Gann took the seat next to Kaldur, a little sad that she couldn't sit between her crush and her friend. But even if she was a little upset, she didn't show it and instead ate slowly, trying to talk to the Atlantean while Ookami almost desperately tried to pull his attention on herself. From time to time, she managed too. It all just upset her more and more - She wasn't craving attention like that, but M'Gann wanted to talk to her friends too. She wanted to be included, as simple as that.

Eating up, she sighed quietly, letting her plate float into the dishwasher, loading it with everything so the kitchen would be clean again. She smiled a little as Kaldur followed, putting his own dirty dish away and smiling at her.
"Thank you for cooking." He told Miss Martian, before slightly looking over his shoulder. Ookami's unrealistically sparkly eyes were on him and she was smiling sweetly, her ears twitching like a radar.

"Hey guys! Do you know when the others will come?" She asked, jumping up to carry her and Conner's plates into the kitchen as well, putting them on the counter. M'Gann raised an eyebrow, before putting them into the dishwasher, next to the others.

"Uh, they should be there in two hours or so. It's Sunday, we'll spend the day together." She slightly leaned back, watching Ookami with a neutral expression. The new girl seemed pretty happy about that.

"Great! I'll make pancakes for everyone when they're here!"Her wolf tail was wagging happily as she left the kitchen again, chuckling.

"I'll go dress in something else. Just a second." With that, she left, getting into her room, leaving her team mates behind.

When she returned, she was wearing a short, white and red striped dress over black tights, something that wasn't as revealing as her other set of clothes. She was still wearing ballet flats and all those obnoxious bells, but nobody said a word about it. And of course, she was still smiling.

"Okay, I'm back! How do I look?" Ookami gave a twirl, her beautiful hair flowing in motion. M'Gann smiled a little.

"You look pretty." However, the wolf-girl didn't seem to happy about her being the first one to answer. Neither was she happy about Kaldur saying the same. It was when Conner quietly grumbled "Nice" when she smiled wider, chuckling like a little girl.
"Ah, thanks!" She hugged him, causing the clone to blush and tense up. He didn't even know why he blushed and didn't just push her away. Again it felt like something just forced him not to. It was so... scary. Well, not scary, but rather unnerving.

When she finally pulled away, he snorted, looking away before standing up.

"I'll go train until the others are here." He said, starting to walk towards the trainings rooms. Ookami, smiled a little.

"I'll go with him! See you!"

Kaldur had considered following them, but he knew that Conner was quite capable enough to defend himself in case something happened, so he and M'Gann decided on doing some research using the green-skinned girl's laptop.

"Beware the Mary Sue. The Author will be back." She muttered as she opened google, stroking back her auburn hair.

"Maybe it's a quote?" Her friend sat down next to her on the couch, slightly leaning in to look at the screen.

"Beware the Mary Sue... What does that mean? Who or what is a Mary Sue?" Her green fingers quickly typed the words into google. As she clicked Enter and saw the entries, she wrinkled up her nose a little.

There were tons of entries, millions upon millions. And lots of pictures too. But those were... well, mostly drawings of girls, with long hair, a ridiculous outfit, an obscene amount of wings, accessories and sparkles with names even more ridiculous than their outfits.

"What is the meaning of this?" Kaldur made her click a link that lead to a definition of the word. He cleared his throat.

"A Mary Sue is a character mostly encountered in fanfiction. Usually, in her simplest form, she is a extraordinary beautiful young girl that may also be stronger, faster, smarter or simply better than everyone else. All the boys want her, the other girls either want to be like her or hate her. Often she has a tragic past or a dark secret, along with an uncommon or just plain weird name. Sometimes, a Mary Sue can act as the author's self insert. For the male Equivalent, please look up Gary Stu, for other variants look up Types of Mary Sues"

The Martian suddenly sat a little more straight, her eyes wide. That all made sense. A lot of sense.

"Kaldur, I think I got it!" She exclaimed, maybe a little bit too excited. "The Author sent us Ookami."

Nodding at her words, Kaldur rubbed his chin, looking enlightened.

"Beware the Mary Sue. The Author will be back. It's a threat. She will pick a fight with us again. We just have to find a way to defeat her. We-"

"Recognized – Robin – – Kid Flash - B-03. Recognized - Artemis – B-07."

The Zeta beam cut him off, and as their friends entered, M'Gann closed her lap top, floating over to greet them, but not without looking back at her friend and quickly opening up the mental link.

"Let's discuss this later. I don't think the others have noticed yet."

So, another chapter done! Hope you like it!

As they both want to find out more about this whole thing, they won't tell the others yet - They're careful and don't want to act too quick. Mh.

Also, would you guys be interested in a sort of humourous guide on How to make a Young Justice/DC in general OC that is not a Mary Sue? Like, on how to make an interesting character that is not obnoxious? Cause I've got some ideas ovo

Eh, as always I'd be happy about Reviews. I really love to see them.
