The new day began just like it did yesterday. The sun's rays found it's way into the Treehouse and Pokemon sounds filled the air outside. The only thing different was that Lila was out of bed. Not seeing her anywhere, I figured she must have been out gardening or hanging out with Cherubi and Melody. I got up and stretched out my arms. I suddenly got the idea to make her breakfast again. I figured she liked the scrambled eggs, she never really told me. I walked over to the kitchen, but then something pounced on me. I fell on my face. Feeling half shell boobies press against my back, I wasn't surprised anymore.

"Good morning, Ryan!" My face was buried in the ground. "Mfhmfhfmhfhmhfmf!"

"I'm so happy you're up! Now we can do things together today. What do you say?"

"Mfff..." She pressed her cheek against mine. "What did you say? I didn't quite get that. Oh, who cares? I'll cuddle you some more." She snuggled into my neck. I finally turned my head.

"Lila, I can't breath. So please get off me!" She just laughed. "Well if it's air you want then I know just the thing to do. Let's head outside. Oh but first, were you going to make my breakfast again?"

"Yeah, I was. But now I'll never be able to. I'll be trapped here forever, waiting to see the light." She squeezed me harder. "Aww, you're trying to guilt trip me. Okay, i'll let you go now." She finally got up and so did I.

"Well, after what you did, i'm not sure you deserve a made breakfast anymore." She rubbed her arm and tried to hypnotize me with her glowing eyes. "I'm sorry. I guess I was getting a bit carried away. I'll control myself better in the future. Please forgive me." Of course she wasn't trying to sound sorry. She just wants me to make her breakfast. She's even flashing her eyes at me. It started to annoy me.

"Aurgh! Fine, okay, I forgive you. Just turn off your Squirtle eyes. I'll make your breakfast."

"Yay!" After finishing the scramble eggs and serving it to her I headed out the door. "I'll wait for you outside, okay?" She nodded her head because her mouth was full. I headed out the door. She was still watching it.

"A human of all people. I can't believe Ryan makes me so happy. And not just happy, I feel... grateful to him. I need him. And Cherubi and Melody need him too, they need more friends. I don't know what it is but I want to be with him more. Maybe it's just because of the fact that i'm so surprised a human like him can call me his friend. I think... maybe i'll try to keep him here just a little longer. It almost feels as though... i'm back home."

After she finished her meal we headed out. We went towards that meadow. We both laid down in the grass and watched the clouds in the blue sky. "The breeze makes up for the suffocating I caused you, huh?"

"Only a lot." She giggled at my response. "But it's okay, it's forgotten." We continued watching the sky. I quite enjoyed it. I made me wonder how something so beautiful could be made so perfectly. Like Lila. Whoops! What! Didn't mean to think that. The sky and her are both blue, so... my brain seemed to match them up in every way. But Lila is pretty. If Arceus cursed her people then it shouldn't be pretty because nothing good comes from curses. But... It doesn't seem that way with her. I looked over and studied her and... she looks so natural. So perfect. As if Mother Nature didn't make a mistake with this. Her beauty is exactly the way it should be. The curse didn't do anything to change that... it didn't make her look slutty, or too sexual, or give away anything fetish. She just looks natural. Maybe Arceus wasn't giving the Pokemon the cruel curse they thought he did. Maybe he was just trying to cleanse their future generations. I've always heard that Arceus had a kind soul but got very angry at those who turned on him. She noticed I was watching her and it forced me to look away.

"What is it?" I looked back at her. "Nothing. It's just... you look beautiful." She blushed a strong red. "Thank you. Hey, let me show you something."

She blew out a ray of bubbles from her mouth. They floated up into the sky, and the light reflected through them. "Wow, I should've brought my camera for this. You'll have to do that again sometime so I can get a picture."

"Okay. Promise." The bubbles started to vanish. "But you know... it looks as though those Bubbles don't do much." Then she sprayed my face with Water Gun, making me guess she got offended. I had to laugh to keep the friendly gesture. "Hey! I was just teasing!" She looked proud of herself. "Hehe."

She then looked at me in wonder. I waited for her question. "Hey, Ryan? If you do decide to move on and leave this place, would you come back and visit us often?" I hadn't really thought of leaving. I mean I know I couldn't live here forever, but I don't want to leave my new friends, they'll miss me. Of course Volbeat won't, but he'll get ticked thinking I would tell other people and come here on visits. I could tell that the girls wanted me around, they really like me. But then there's Dawn and my mother, I wanted to see them, too. I wasn't afraid to be honest with Lila.

"Yes. If I do decide to go, i'll visit you guys as many times as I can." Her eyes sparkled in happiness. "Really? You promise? No wait, don't. I believe you. Thank you. You mean a lot to me and I want you to stay, I really do. But i'm not a human, i'm a human looking Pokemon. I can't give you the needs your people can. Like your family. Do you have family? I know you said you do. Tell me about them." I smiled and started thinking about them. "Well-"

Just then my pocket started to buzz. "Just a second, Lila." I pulled out my phone and opened up the new message. It was from Dawn. It said HI RYAN! HOW ARE YA? I JUST GOT TO VEILSTONE CITY. ARE YOU NEARBY?

Veilstone City was only on the other side of the forest. Without thinking I replied back that I was and I would meet her there. I put my my phone away and looked at Lila, having to spill the beans to her.

"Um, Lila. I just got a message from my sister. She wants me to hang out with her at a nearby city and I... promised I would." She seemed pretty upset with what I said. "Well, I was hoping we would hang out all day... um, just the two of us." I sat up an looked into her eyes.

"I'm sorry. But I promised I would see her whenever I could, plus I haven't seen her for a few days.'' Then I looked at her more closely, sensing distrust.

"Is it that you don't trust that i'll keep your secret when I get to the human city?" She seemed surprised. "No! That's not it! But now that I think about it, you would be putting your promise to the test. And I won't any proof but your words that you'll kept that promise when or if you come back. I trust you, Ryan. I don't want you to break your sister's promise." She gave me a weak smile but a smile nonetheless.

"Go. She's waiting for you. I'll be fine here." I got up. I decided to help her up as well. "I promise I'll come back and i'll keep my promise." Her smile grew. "Come here."

I gave her a friendly hug, and she whispered into my ear "Be safe." I smiled at her and then headed back to the Treehouse to get my stuff. And then I took the secret pathway through the tall grass I found two days ago and got back on the road.

Lila sat on the edge of the porch just hoping I'll return to her. "I know I told Ryan I trust him. He's been so kind to me and to Cherubi and Melody. But what if he is trying to gain our trust so we won't suspect? What if Volbeat was right and all humans are like that? No! I can't think that. If he wanted to betray us then he would have done it by now."

She hopped down from the porch. "Ryan would never do that to us. He's not that kind of person."

"You let him go to a human city?" Lila looked up into a tree and saw Volbeat sitting up in a tree. He jumped down. "He had to meet with his sister. She's his family." Volbeat crossed his arms. "Oh, did he? Well, is she a Pokemon Trainer?" Lila looked away. "I see. He could tell her, you know. He might bring her hear. And she might get the idea to try to capture us."

Lila shot her eyes back at him. "He would never do that! Even if she is his family, he would never break his promise. I know him." Volbat gave her an idea smile. "Well, why don't you find out for yourself?" She looked confused. "What do you mean?" Then she realized what he meant.

"You want me to... go to the human city? But... what if I get caught?"

"Better to get caught by one of them than to have all the humans come here. Think of it this way, it's the only way to know for sure. He'll act differently away from you so if he is a traitor than he'll show his true intentions. Besides, you've always been to human cities to steal the things you needed."

"Yes, I know." Then she looked down the trail. "Fine. I'll follow him. But if he is who I hope he is then you owe him an apology." She took off the trail to follow me.

I got to the other side of the forest and found Veilstone City. It seems more crowded than usual. Most of them were Trainers who were here to challenge the City Gym leader Maylene, who specializes in Fighting type Pokemon.

I headed towards the city mall when I felt a female body wrap her arms around me from behind. I knew who it was. It was no mystery. I couldn't believe she had followed me here. I thought she trusted me. "Lila! I said I was coming right back!"

"Silly Ryan. It's me." Then my anger faded when I heard that voice. I turned around and saw a familiar human girl smile at me. "Oh. Hey, Dawn."

"Geez, who did you think I was?" Then I realized I just said Lila's name in front of her. "Never mind. Hey Piplup, how's it going? " Piplup jumped and gave me a hug. "Hahaha! It's good to see you, too. Come on, let's get inside." We headed inside the Mall. Lila was using the river that was north of the city. He saw us go inside and entered through the sewer system. Me and my sister sat in an outdoor diner. And there was a sewer lid right next to our table and Lila found listened carefully.

"Mmm. The food they serve here is good, huh Ryan?" My face was stuffed with the bacon cheeseburger I ordered so I just nodded my head. I swallowed my food. "So... did you capture any wild Pokemon lately?" She put her food down.

"Oh yeah, i've gotten quite a few. I caught a Buneary and a Pachirisu. And I was given a Pokemon egg for helping a man trying to cross a river, though I don't know what kind it is yet."

"And what about your performances? Have you participated in any events yet?" She shook her head. "No, not yet. But we've been practicing! Don't worry, when we do we'll be prepared. We've mostly just figured out water electric move combinations. But Buneary has a great one with her Quick Attack move. I'd love to show you sometime. Maybe after lunch?" I smiled at her. "Sure. I'd love what you've come up with."

"Yes! Thank you, Ryan. I been hoping to get a real audience for some time."

"Glad I could help sis."

"So... what have you been doing?" I immediately thought about Lila. And about Cherubi and Melody. I think it caught Lila's attention. I didn't want to tell her about Lila at all. Not directly.

"Well... I've been making friends. Human friends, of course. Um... they're really cool." At this point Lila was screaming in her head telling me not to break her promise. But when I said human friends that reassured her a bit. "There is one particularly i'm pretty fond of. She's a great friend. I'm curious about how-" She cut me off. "Wait, wait, back up. "She"? You mean... you met a girl?"

"Oh. Yeah. But it's no big deal. I mean I guess it is a bit because I really care about her. And all her friends, too." She leaned forward. "Why didn't you tell me about this sooner?" I was trying to make up something other than the promise I made. "Oh. Uh... forgot, I guess."

She smiled at me. "Tell me more about this girl. I'd love to know more about her." I began sweating. Lila must've felt the same when she heard the same. More and more Dawn's forcing me to crack the promise. I couldn't tell her about Lila. But I could describe her personality and our friendship.

"Well, we're really great friends. She didn't trust trust me when we first met but I promised her I wouldn't ever hurt her in any way, and... I guess she just believed me. She let me stay with her and we've gotten to know each other more. She's been through a lot in her life and that's why she didn't trusted me at first. But she is the sweetest person I have ever met. I tried doing lots of things for her and she's been very grateful to me. And she was pretty upset when I promised i'd meet you here. She's pretty lonely." Dawn tried looking at me with curiosity. "Do you like her?"

Oh my gos- I haven't even thought about that. Lila my girlfriend?I mean she's so beautiful, but I never thought a real relationship would ever be possible. She's always treated me differently from Cherubi and Melody and Volbeat. It's obvious she likes me, but in what way? Like or like like? The real problem is is that we're too different. We're completely different races. I mean I have heard about Trainers and their Pokemon get... physically active. But they've both ended up being miserable. What if the same thing happens between me and Lila? Can we even have children together? And what if people find out? They might try to stop it. I don't want Lila hurt. But I truly care about her. I think talking to Dawn might help me sort out my feelings once for all.

"Well... I really care for her. She's been through so much drama I just want to protect her from anything else. I don't look like a nerd or anything, but I don't know if she would ever see me that way. However, she cuddles me all the time but I can't tell if she likes me or if she's just doing it because we're really good friends. A part of me does... want to be with her more. But..." I'm at a breaking point. I promised Lila but this is getting too close. Dawn sensed something was wrong. "What's wrong?"

"Dawn... you're blackmailing me to break a promise I made to her and she'd be heartbroken if I told anybody. Please don't make me do that. All I can tell you is... she's different. You would be in shock and disbelief if I told you. And it's because she's different that I don't know if we can be together. I don't want her hurt."

Dawn held my hands. "Then don't tell me. If she made you promise then I won't interfere. And as for being different, it can't be bad enough to make you not care about her. Different is suppose to be a positive thing, and as long as she's a person then that's all that matters. And that's my final word on the matter."

I stared at her in relief. I'm glad she's my sister. "Thanks, Dawn. You're right. I don't care what she is. It's the person on the inside I liked..." Then we both noticed I said "liked". I wasn't going to stop.

"I would do anything for her. She's made me think about things I never even knew about. I want to stay with her forever. Because..." I closed my eyes and let it come out. "I love her."

Lila was at disbelief. I'm told that her knees collapsed and she didn't hear any more of our conversation. "He... loves me? He said he loves me."

I opened my eyes. " I thought I didn't feel that for her, but I do. She is so beautiful." Dawn was teary. Then she squealed loudly. "Oh, i'm so happy that my brother has fallen in love!" I quickly covered her mouth so she wouldn't create a scene. "Hey, be quiet! Don't do that." Then she stood up. "Hey everyone! My brother Ryan is in love and I don't care who knows it!" I threw back into her seat. "Stop it!" Half of the customers looked at us like we were crazy and the other half didn't even care. Dawn giggled.

"That was fun." I just shook her head. "Well, i'm sorry Ryan. Well, maybe only a little bit. But tell me, what's her name?" The reason I promised my Pokemon crush was because she didn't want anybody knowing her kind existed. If Dawn found out I would have to explain myself to Lila. But Dawn would really like Lila. They would really good friends. I hoped telling Dawn her name wouldn't break that promise. I'll never know if I don't tell her.

"Lila." She smiled. "Lila. Well I hope you gain the courage to tell her. Who knows, she might even like you and feel just as nervous. I'm happy you've met someone, Ryan." I thought about it. Well, anyway we finished our meals. "Now that we're done here, let's find somewhere to perform some tricks." We got up and left the mall.

Lila left the sewer and headed up river away from the City. She escaped into a forest. "I don't believe it. He... he loves me. I heard him say it. He loves me." Then she heard my voice up ahead. "Ryan." She charged through the trees. She stopped and hid behind a tree. Me and Dawn were walking down a trail and stopped right on the other side of the tree Lila hid behind. We had just finished reviewing her performances. Let me tell you what they were.

Piplup used it's Bubble move and Pachirisu jumped into the middle and used spark on each bubble. They all blew up at the same time and sparkles rained in the air. Another really cool one was Piplup started the move with Water Gun towards the sky. Then Buneary would be thrown into the air by Piplup and and she would use her Quick Attack to swirl around the water until it turned into a flying whirlpool. There were some glitches in the performances, but nothing a Performer couldn't fix. I think that when she fixes these small bugs then she'll be ready for a Professional performance.

"Thank you so much for your opinions. They really help. Well, i'm afraid it's that time again. Are you going to go back to her?" I blushed. Mostly because now that she knows it's more awkward than intense. "Of course. She's expecting me to come back to her. Though I don't know how i'll tell her."

Lila smiled. She thought in her head "You don't have to. I understand." I hugged my sister goodbye. I then bent down to Piplup. "Good luck in your performances." Piplup cuddled into me and I chuckled. "Alright. I'll miss you too. Until next time you guys."

She waved goodbye to me and she disappeared. I leaned against the tree. "I'm an idiot. If Lila found out I described her to Dawn... if she found out I almost broke my promise, she'd be furious. I guess she has to know. I'm sorry, Lila."

I took off the other direction, which was where the secret grove was. Lila emerged from her hiding place and watched me.

"No, Ryan. I'll never be mad at you. I'm happy you said those stuff. Otherwise, I would have never known." She went back to the river to get home before I did.

Cherubi was picking berries up in a tree. She wasn't able to grab one because they were too far from her reach. She then slipped on the branch and fell on her back. Then a bunch of berries buried her.

"Ow.. this would be so much easier if Melody grabbed them for me." She got up. "Playing around as usual, I see." Cherubi turned and saw Volbeat. "Oh. Hi, Volbeat. Berry?"

"Nah, i'm good. I've doing a lot of thinking. Cherubi, I don't know if you have noticed but things have changed."

"Huh? Change? How?"

"When we let you and Melody stay in our secret grove, things were better because we had new Pokemon friends. Especially Lila. She needs friends. But now... we let that human stay and the atmosphere around here has changed."

"Really? I thought it seemed okay to me."

"You would. Well, for the sake of everybody here, including Lila... i'm going to get rid of him once and for all." Cherubi was surprised. "What? But you promised Lila you wouldn't do that. That you would-"

Then Volbeat grabbed her and pinned her to a tree. She grew scared. "I know I promised Lila that I would let her keep her happiness of having Ryan stay. I know that. But I took a walk this morning and realized something: I'm losing your guy's respect, and he isn't. Something's got to be done about that. Don't you agree?"

He let Cherubi go. Her tears faded away. "What do you want me to do?" Volbeat grinned and ripped off her leaf. She cried out in pain.

Lila arrived at the grove and walked down the path. Then she noticed someone crying. It was Cherubi. "Cherubi!" Lila ran up to her. "Your leaf. It's ripped off. What happened?"

Cherubi tried pausing her sobbing. "It was... the human, Ryan. He did it."

"He did what?!"

"He attacked me... without any reason... and left. I trusted him, too. But... humans can't be trusted." Then, Lila looked at her more closely.

"Are you telling me truth?" Cherubi looked up at her. "Yes. It was him."

"Are you sure it wasn't another human? Have we been discovered?" Cherubi shook her head. "No. I saw his face many times enough to know what it looked like." Lila started to believe her. But then she realized something.

"He couldn't have. He's been gone most of the day and he isn't back yet. Wait. Did Volbeat put you up to this?" Cherubi started getting scared. "But I- I can't... it was... it was..." Lila knelt down and scooped her up. "Cherubi, please tell the absolute truth. Tell me THE truth and I promise I will believe it. I'll help you, but not if you do the same for me.

She started crying again. She said something but it came out as a squeak. She tried to control her breathing and started calming down. "You're right. It wasn't Ryan. I haven't even seen him at all today. It was Volbeat." Lila was shocked. "Volbeat?"

"He did try to put me upto it. He wanted you mad at Ryan so you would send him away for good." Anger swelled up in Lila. "Oh he did, huh?" Melody saw them and flew down.

"Cherubi! What happened to you?"

"Don't worry about it. I'll deal with it. Her leaf will grow back, but look after her, okay?"

Melody saluted. "You can count on me." Lila got up and left. She found Volbeat and confronted him. "Oh hi, Lila. Did you find out where your, ahem, "friend's" intentions truly lie?"

Anger was rising in Lila. "Volbeat... you... you bully!" She used Water Gun and pinned him against a tree. Lila grabbed a vine from a tree and tied him up to the tree.

"What's going on?" Lila grabbed his head and pushed it back. "You attacked Cherubi to get rid of Ryan. Admit it." Volbeat pretended to be surprised. "She's been attacked?"

"Oh don't pretend anymore. She told me everything about what you set her up to do." Volbeat gave her a confused look. "Why would she blame me?" Lila slapped his face.

"You sicken me. Even after you've been caught with your hand in the cookie jar, you're still trying to cover it up."

"Cover what up? It's that human, huh? He attacked her!" Lila shook her head. "You're not gonna break easily, are you? Well it doesn't matter. I know you want Ryan gone. But why did you attack and use Cherubi? She's our friend. I said, why did you attack-"

"Because she's weaker than all of us combined!" She stared at him in disbelief. A tear fell from her face. "Why would you say that? Don't you care about her? I thought it was just Ryan you didn't like."

"I tried training you guys for the day a human would ever find us. But so far all you do is eat berries and star gaze. You are not prepared for the world. A Trainer will come along and weaken you with one move from his Pokemon slave and capture you to become slave. Huh, I don't know if that isn't better for you all, though. It'll finally make you stronger. You are more powerful than any Pokemon I have ever known. Ever since I met you I was devoted to helping you use those powers. I knew that when you were crying in that rain, making yourself look pathetic, I knew the world was going to destroy you. In your state you would never fight back. A freak like you would have let yourself been killed. However, focusing yourself for battle would eliminate any cons about you. The world would never care for you. So you had to fight it back in any way you could."

Lila's anger rose inside her. "You... you mean the reason you helped me that day was only because you saw weakness in me? I thought you cared about me. Not because of what I was or what I could do, but because I was a Pokemon like you. You said you'd help me. But I didn't realize you meant... I thought you cared about me."

"I do! I've always been attached to you. You've always been like a daughter to me. And I want things to be like that again."

Lila let out a sigh. "Volbeat... we can be like that again. There's something you need to know. If you promise to listen then I'll untie you." Volbeat nodded.

"I promise." Lila started to untie him. "But I've been thinking about the possibility and found only one solution."

"What is it?" Lila finished untying him and set him down. "You must get rid of Ryan!"

"What?! You still don't trust him?" Volbeat shook his head. "Why?"

"Because he's a human, what other reason do you need?"

"I thought you gave your word to me that you would trust him. He's made so many promises and hasn't broken a single one. You on the other hand, you're doing just that."

Volbeat clenched his fists. "Well, I don't care! That human is evil! They're all evil!"

"No, he's not! I'll prove it. I followed him like you suggested to do. I saw him go into a city mall to meet with his sister. They had lunch together and I was pretty close. They didn't see me though. Ryan told her about me without breaking his promise. He openly refused to do it. But he said... he said he liked being with me. He didn't want to hurt me. He likes it when he does thing for me. And he said... said... said..."

"Said what?" Lila took a deep breath. "Volbeat... he's in love with me." Volbeat was shocked.

"I felt the same way, but he said it." The happiness that filled her the moment he said returned to her. "He loves me. Everything he said and did for me... was because he loves me. How could someone who's cruel on the inside fall in love with someone of a different race?"

Volbeat yelled angrily. "That's even worse! He's ruining the balance of nature and you're letting him!"

"What does it matter that he's a human and i'm a Squirtle?"

"Because... nature has an order for different species. Arceus created a male and a female for every race. And each race is required to continue their own kind."

"But if I meet every male Squirtle who's like me in the entire world and I have no feelings for any of them, then I won't mate with them."

"I don't care if you don't mate a Squirtle. Just don't mate with anyone else. Now... you will send him away."

Pfft. Why should I?"

"Because I told you to. If I sent him away, then you'll still want him here. But if you did it then you'll have closure and move on."

"And if I refuse, what are you gonna do?"

"That evil human WILL tell people you're secret. And if you don't get rid of him... then i'll reveal it to them myself."

Lila was totally taken by his shocking words. "Wh... how could you? You promised not to do that when we first met."

"Like I said, I don't care about promises. Of course, if you care about that human more than you do your own secret life..."

"I... I actually..."

Then they heard me coming. Volbeat grinned with a sense of malice behind it. "Good. He's here. Now, you get rid of him, or I get rid of you, freak. And don't tell him anything, because this time... I'll be watching to make sure I get my way." He hid in the bushes. She hesitantly walked up to me.

"Ryan... i'm glad you're back." I smiled at her not yet noticing her mood. "Hi, Lila. I promised you I would, didn't I?" She smiled weakly.

"Right. I knew you would." That's when I noticed her mood. I held her shoulders. "Lila, what's wrong?" She looked away. "Well, many things actually. Can we talk?" I wanted to help her in any way I could. "Of course we can, Lila. Tell me what's on you're mind."

"Well, to start things off... do you think of me as another Pokemon, freak or normal?" I shook my head slowly. "Of course not to both. I don't think of you as a Pokemon at all."

"Really?" I nodded at the same speed. I let her go. "Who called you a freak?"

"Well, no one. But... would your opinion about me change if I were a human?" She seems to be right. I mean I wasn't kidding when I said I don't see her as a Pokemon. But we definitely wouldn't talk about issues about being a human like Pokemon.

"I think the only difference would be that I me noticing Pokemon features would be replaced with human features. But I don't want our friendship to change." She hugged me. "I don't want it to change, either. I know we're different in race but I want to be your friend."

"Lila, you don't have to feel alone anymore. I know i'm not you're family but i'll never leave you. I lo-" I caught it at that time. I was scared she would've take it the the wrong way. But there was something I wanted to tell her.

"Lila. There's something I want to tell you, and I don't want to keep it a secret from you. When me and my sister had lunch together, I told her I met somebody. I was referring to you. She asked me to tell her about you. I didn't her your secret of being a Squirtle, but I did describe your personality to her. And I-"

She put her finger to my mouth. "I know." I was surprised. "But how did you..."

"I followed you. And I heard everything you said to her." I eyes shot widely. "But how... I never even saw you."

"I was underneath a sewer lid. Your table was inches away. But I know. I know the truth about your feelings for me, Ryan."

I started shaking, expecting her worst reaction. Maybe the reason she was so moody was because she was upset to tell me that she didn't feel that way with me. "Hey, look I- I know you know now. I won't deny it, it is true, but I know for a fact that you don't-"

She covered my mouth, shushing me. "That's not true. You've done so much for me that I wondered if you were just a regular friend or a special friend. When I first met you I was scared of you because of what you were. I was afraid you were going to hurt my friends. But you, a human being, ended up being one of us. You gave me a feeling no male Squirtle has ever given me. My own feelings confused me. But... the truth is..."

She brought her hand from my mouth to my cheek. She stared at me, scared to bring out words. "Ryan? I... uh..."

We continued looking into each other's eyes. Despite the fear in her's they sparkled so beautifully. They began to close though and I was forced to do the same. We leaned forward. Our heads bobbed closer to each other. I paused for a moment, but she didn't. I kept going and... weakly, but surely... our lips met.

It was very soft and only lasted a few seconds. I felt a sense of sensation throughout my whole body, from my head to the tip of my toes. Even for a peck it seemed so extreme. I saw her open her eyes. Her eyes glew again, but fear was no longer there. Just wonder. And even something began to replace that. She was filled with joy.

"Come here!" She tackled me and gave me a much more powerful kiss. My eyes widened and my face was filled with the most intense red blush there is. I fell back so that she's on top of me. She wrapped her arms around my neck so I wouldn't escape her. Eventually, I gave in and copied her movements. This sensation was waaaaay more extreme than it was a moment ago. She then broke the embracing kiss.

"I love you, too. I'll never send you away. I will keep you here forever and we'll be happy together." I smiled and stroked her face. "Thank you. I want that." We continued the same kiss. Volbeat jumped out of the bushes.

"Gaaaah! I've had enough of this!" He pushed Lila off me and faced me. "You human devil! Even if Lila sent you away you will still reveal her secret. I'll kill you myself!"

Lila got up and shoved him. She blocked me. "Ever since he came here, all you've done is call him evil and untrustworthy. But the only evil person around here is you!"

Volbeat flared his eyes at her. "Don't think i'm afraid of you, girl. Humans will never see us as equals. And I must protect that truth from everyone. Even you." He flew up into the air. "Zen Headbutt!"

His head glowed a bright pink and charged towards her. Lilac jumped up into the air using Mega Punch. When she punched his head they both flew back. Lila hit a tree. Volbeat landed in front of her, laughing.

"Did you think you could stop my psychic move with a fighting type move? You forgot everything I taught you. Confuse Ray."

He fired a black energy from his hands at Lila. She used her shell to block the move. He used a Quick Attack when her back turned and then when he got close close enough she used Mega Kick on him. He fell on his face. She landed in front of him. "No. I haven't."

Volbeat screamed and jumped back on his feet and used Struggle Bug. Lila dodged the attack and used Water Gun, knocking him into a tree and getting stuck in it. Volbeat fainted. She looked at me triumphantly. But then Volbeat got back up and charged at her. I rushed over to him. "Leave Lila Alone!" I punched him as hard as I could, but it sent him flying to the ground. I had never punched a Pokemon before, but it felt good. Volbeat barely got up on his feet, injured and weak. Her aura felt different from Volbeat's. She felt much more powerful than he could ever hope to be.

"I trusted you, Volbeat. But you're the betrayer. You used me. I'm sending you away. I'm sorry this has to happen, but you are no longer welcome to this grove. Get out of here now. I don't ever want to see your face again."

Volbeat opened one eye. "Fine. You win this battle against me. Love each other and have children together, I no longer care. But what will happen when Pokemon rise up against humans? When a war breaks out? You'll see I was right. You'll beg for my forgiveness, but I won't give it to you. I'll laugh in your faces and I'll say I told you so. Goodbye, Lila. You did amuse me sometimes." And then he flew off. We never heard from him since. However, I have herd about a captured Volbeat who had problems with it's Trainer. In the Sinnoh region.

Lila ran over to me and gave me a huge hug. "Are you okay?" I smiled at her concern. "I'm fine. How about you?" She smiled and gave me a kiss on the cheek. "I'm okay. Hey..." She gave me a seductive look. "It seems i'm your girlfriend now. And you're now my boyfriend."

I blushed. "Heheh. Yeah. I guess that's right." And once again our lips touched.

Nighttime fell and we headed back to the Treehouse. I got all the lights turned off and sat back on the couch. Lila appeared and dragged me to the bed. "Not this time. You're sleeping with me now."

I blushed embarrassingly. "Are you sure that's a good idea?" She blinked at me. "Of course. I need you with me." I trusted her. So I agreed and got into the bed with her. We got under the covers and fell asleep. "Good night, Ryan."

"Good night... my love." I closed my eyes and settled in for the night. But I was awakened by luscious lips touching my cheek. And then arms stretched around me. I turned around and faced my new lover. We engaged in an engaging kiss. Then I rolled her on top of me. She continued the passionate kiss. I could feel her legs wrap around my waist. I ran my fingers through them. They feel so soft, I didn't want to let go. She broke the kiss and started taking to my right ear. She began licking, kissing, and biting it. I rolled her over so that i'm on top. I stared down at her breasts. Most of it is covered by her shell but I could see most of the top. It was enough to turn me on. I began kissing the area softly. Lila stopped teasing my ear and thrusted her head back. The kissing increased and licking aided it. She purred in complete bliss, liking what I was doing. I finally stopped and worked my way down to her bare stomach. I gently kissed her cute belly button. She started to run her fingers through my hair. I moved my head back to her head and rested on her shoulder.

"Does your shell come off?" She nodded. "Yes. But don't you think that's getting a little too forward? I mean we just started dating five hours ago."

I chuckled. "I wasn't asking if we could. In case we ever get married we're gonna take it all the way. I know we'll have plenty of practice until then. So I understand. I enjoyed just that much anyway." She gave me a happy lick. "Me too. That was fun." I got off her but she still clinged me.

"Hey, Ryan? I want to remember this moment. Can you take a picture of us at this moment of time?" I was surprised when she asked that. "But I thought we agreed I wouldn't take any pictures of you. Because other people may find out."

"Well, honestly I don't care if other humans find out. As long as you're on my side, i'll face that darkness. Plus, Cherubi and Melody got to be in one, so it's only fair to have me do one this time." I smiled and removed her arms. I got up and turned a light on. I went through the backpack and got out the camera. I turned it on and got back on the bed.

"Alright. Wanna do something silly?" But she just held me and rested her head on my shoulder. I smiled and wrapped my free arm around her.

"Okay so what do I do?" I pointed the camera at both of us. "Just smile and freeze." We both smiled and I pressed the button. I showed her the screen with the image. "Wow. I know I saw that already, but that's really cool. You can turn the light off now. Goodnight, honey."

I turned off the light and wrapped my arms around her and went to sleep. "Actually... why don't we go back to what we were doing? That was fun." Lila nodded. "I'd love to."

In the Kanto region, Giovanni entered the room with the large screen and turned it on. As usual, his Persian jumped on his lap and he began stroking it.

"Well? Any news regarding the Jewel of Life?"

"You'll be very glad to hear that we have a present for you."

The screen showed the workers gathered around.

"Boss. You'll never believe this. We still can't believe it."

He held up a green orb with a yellow light glowing inside it. Giovanni was struck. He stood up and the Persian jumped off his lap.

"It's been found. Team Rocket has found it! The Jewel of Life. The central of most of Arceus' power. And now it's all mine. Good work men. Return here immedietly."

The members saluted. He sat back down with the Persian returning. The screen changed.

"Master Giovanni, there is more shocking news. After I informed you of the painting of the half Pokemon half humans I searched the globe for all known Pokemon and human life forms. And... other than humans. There are fourteen identified species that do match the Pokemon World Record."

"What? You mean... they really do exist?"

"Yes sir. And to add to the amazement, sir, I look the liberty to measure one's power during a battle with a Volbeat. The levels were shooting up at an alarming. It's power aura's equivalent to... mega evolution."

"Can it be? A creature like that... and there are fourteen different races of them out there. Where is this individual you whose power you recorded?"

"It is in the Sinnoh region, not far from the excavation site."

It zoomed in on the Treehouse. And it went through it to get a view of me and Lila kissing in an embrace. We were both on our sides so the camera had a clear view of our action.

"Impressive. This Squirtle girl looks stunning. And there's a human who knows about this? Hm, I can see why he likes her so much. I'll plan a way to capture her, and when we do we'll use the Jewel of Life to power our sky fortress. Heheheheh. Hahahahahahaha!"
