All he could do was wait. And that's what he did. The first two days without his brother was agony. He checked the mail every few seconds. Undyne and the other were supportive, looking everywhere. Papyrus told them nothing. He couldn't. He can't. He just waited.

Papyrus hated not being productive. He should be looking for his brother. But there was no point in looking though. Papyrus knew where they were. Grillby made his dinners, but Papyrus barely ate them. He didn't' like the grease. Besides, Papyrus wasn't hungry. Undyne visited every night.

"Don't worry. He probably just got lost. He's gonna be fine," she began, "I mean, Sans isn't the strongest, but he is smart. He can probably weasel his way out of anything."

Papyrus wasn't worried him being lost, he knew where he was. Well, technically, not exactly but Papyrus knew who he was with. Papyrus shook with fear. What were they going to do? What were they doing? Why? Why would Frisk do this? WHY?!

He shook his head. He needed to think positively. Papyrus needed a distraction. He looked around his room. For the first time in his life, it was messy. Now just cause his brother wasn't here didn't mean he could act like him. Papyrus started picking up his room. Sans probably would still be sleeping. Was he sleeping right now? No. Papyrus knew that wasn't the case. Sans was awake. He could feel it.

Papyrus spent the morning cleaning the house. He was about to pick up that darn sock when Papyrus flinched. Did he want to move it? Maybe he could keep it here, to remember his brother… What was he thinking? It's not like Sans is dead. Stars, is he dead? He couldn't be. Papyrus NEEDED him to be alive. He hadn't said anything. He hadn't broken the rules. Right?

Undyne walked into the room. Papyrus was staring at a sock. Was he losing it? She couldn't bear to him there wasn't anything. Alphys said she'd check all the recordings. See if they could spot either. But it was no use, the cameras weren't working.

He had disappeared. Completely. Where was he? Monster don't just vanish. And Frisk was gone too. She missed the punk. Life wasn't the same without them. Undyne couldn't tell him that. They were such best friends and his brother was gone.

She felt like she should leave. She closed the door and sank to the ground. How could this happen? What did Papyrus do to deserve this? What did ANYONE do to deserve this? The Queen was a complete mess. Just the last night, Undyne caught Queen Toriel crying over a shirt. Sobbing hard like she would turn to dust.

Who did this was gonna pay. BIG time.

His mailbox had a letter. He was so terrified. What if it was a package? Papyrus trembled as he opened the box. It was a letter. Stars, it was a letter. He was so relived. He picked up the letter and opened it, ready for a bill or something.

Papyrus dropped it.

It was a picture of Sans. Sleeping.

What the crap? It was so innocent on the surface but all kinds of creepy.

'Isn't he CUTE?' was written in red crayon. What in the actual crap? He stared at the picture of his brother. The words just felt awful. Really awful! Papyrus couldn't take it anymore. He couldn't handle this.

Who in the entire Underground could handle this? How was he supposed to handle this? Pretend he's not scared or worried. He fell into the snow and cried. It was so cold, but he didn't care. He cried for a long time. He sniffed and picked up the picture. Papyrus felt like he should rip it up. But he couldn't force him to. This may be his last time seeing him… alive.
