FLASHBACK: Several months before, first day back from summer vacation.
The seventh years were gathered around the fireplace in the Gryffindor common room. Relaxing after a long day of traveling. The common room was filled with the voices friends reunited after a summer apart.
The centers of this group, as usual, were the marauders. Along with them were Lily, James Potter's new girlfriend, and her best friend Anna.
Anna was still getting used to being around the maraurders. She and Lily used to avoid them like the plague. Although she didn't hate them as much as Lily previously did, she always found herself rather nervous around them, well at least one marauder in particular. Sirius Black.
The moment she first laid eyes on him was still burnt into her memory. She liked him right from the start, seven years later and she still hasn't gotten over him. Throughout her time at Hogwarts she did date other guys, but nothing ever felt "right" with them, deep down she knew Sirius had something to do with it.
Anna glanced at Sirius, he was chatting up a Eva Parker. Who seemed to be giggling uncontrollably, undoubtedly to his wit and charm. Anna sigh, wishing she were her, she wasn't even sure he knew she existed…
"Everyone, let's play a game!", Peter suggested. Everyone agreed.
"How about seven minutes in heaven?!", suggested Eva, eyeing Sirius. Anna rolled her eyes.
"I'm in, sounds like fun", Sirius said smirking. Eva and several other Gryffindors huddled and organized the game; everyone agreed to play, except for those who were in relationships.
"Alright, I'll draw two names out of the hat, whoever gets picked goes upstairs to the dormitory for seven minutes!", said Eva her eyes shifting to Sirius.
She drew two names out of the hats, "Remus! And…Miranda!" The pair awkwardly glanced at each other then made their way up the stairs.
Everyone resumed speaking once they heard the door close.
Anna glanced Sirius, what she wouldn't give to be paired with him. She watched as Eva placed her hand on his shoulder laughing a little too loudly at something he said.
Eva was running the game; Anna suspected she would make sure she paired herself with Sirius.
After the seven minutes were up Eva, left to bring Remus and Miranda downstairs.
As they entered the room, they were greeting with hoots and whistles, making them both blush deeply.
"Who's next?" Eva said heading towards the drawing hats. Lily beat her to it.
Lily reached into the girl's had and unfolded the piece of paper then announced, "Anna!". The room erupted into a series of mocking "Ooooo's".
Anna rolled her eyes, and stared at her friend, waiting for her to call the other name.
Lily drew another name out of the hat, then called, "Sirius!". A chill ran down her spine, as her heart started racing. A voice in the back of her mind annoyingly mocked be careful what you wish for.
Sirius glanced at Anna, who he only knew as Lily's best friend. She was always around but he never really talked to her… but that didn't mean he hadn't noticed her. In fact he had been eying the raven-haired beauty for quite some time now. Occasionally he would find himself admiring her dark almond eyes, her smile, they way her dark hair that fell around her shoulders in graceful curls.
He thought she was gorgeous, but he never bothered pursuing her. He figured they were too different, he just wasn't her type, and she would never go for someone like him.
He smiled inwardly at the brief look of shock on her face. He decided to make the most of this situation; after all it may be his only chance to kiss her.
Anna's heart jumped to her throat, she could feel her face turning red. Anna put on a "whatever it's no big deal" face to mask her surprise. She felt giddy and terrified at the same time. She walked towards the stairs desperately trying to ignoring all the eyes that were set one her, including his. She could feel his presence behind her.
She could still feel it as they walked up the stairs. She refused to look at him and set her eyes straight ahead.
Sirius chuckled inwardly, her shyness was endearing, it was certainly different from what he was used to.
As they reached the landing a feeling of doubt crossed his mind. He was unsure how to do this. That was a first; he was usually an expert when it came to girls. He always knew exactly what to say and what to do to please them, but this girl was different…
Or was she? After all she is a girl, just like all the others. Surely she wouldn't be any different.
She opened the door and stepped inside her back to him, still not looking at him. He shut the door behind them, sharing at the back of her head.
He decided he would just go for it.
As soon as she turned to face him he captured her lips, pulling her to him, locking his arm around her waist. Anna kissed him back almost instinctively with equal fervor, snaking her arms around his shoulders.
All the apprehension they felt melted away, all they could think about now were each other.
Her fingers were soft and gentle as they slowly ran up the back of his neck and into his hair, sending shivers down his spine.
He was unaccustomed to such tenderness. Somehow he found himself responding strongly to it.
He tenderly stroked her cheek with the back of his fingers, then cupped her chin. His tongue gently slid over her bottom lip, they parted in response. He deepened the kiss pulling her even closer.
She moaned softly, running her fingers through his hair. Reveling in the sensation of his hand roaming down her back then to her waist.
His passion made her feel lightheaded, in a good way…
She stiffened when she heard a knock on the door. Sirius broke the kiss and rested his forehead against hers. Her eyes darted towards the door.
"Time's up!", Eva's voice boomed from the other side of the door. Seven minutes have passed already?
Sirius stroked her arm, a little sad that his moment with her was over.
She looked up at him, they stared at each other for a brief moment, before they both found themselves leaning in for one final peck.
Sirius released her, and turned to open the door. Anna was relieved to see Eva had already headed downstairs.
"After you", he said, his voice slightly husky. She smiled at him and headed out the door ahead of him.
As they entered the common room they were greeted with claps and whistles, which would have normally mortified her, had her mind not been reeling with thoughts of Sirius.
She sat next to Lily, who gave her a "how was it?" look, Anna winked back jokingly. Lily laughed and nudged her friend.
Kissing him was better than she could have ever imagined it would be. All these years she longed for just one moment with him, just one moment she can have with her for the rest of her life. Now she knows, it wont be enough, she needs more.
Sirius sat on the other side of the room, looking at Anna. He was thinking the same thing.
So? what did you guys think? I feel better about this chapter than I did about the last one.
Did you like it? Did you hate it? let me know!
