I hope this chapter makes up for the wait. There will be a final chapter to conclude this story that I promise will not take more than a week. I reread the story just to remember all of the details but if there are mistakes I apologize, I also edit this myself before I publish so I try to catch things before publishing. Without any further ado, the penultimate chapter of On the Rocks.

They got to Supper Club and Nick approached the bouncer who crossed their names off his list. He gave them all VIP wristbands, except for Serena who received a gold one. Apparently the bouncer could give her a wristband that included her drinks for the night.

"21st birthday hun?"

"Yes, did Nick tell you?"

"Yes, actually he reserved his VIP passes and your brother, Kevin told me it was your birthday celebration. Both of them were regulars here. You should of seen them at 21."

Serena thanked the bouncer then went to join her friends. It was silly imagining serious Kevin at a club, and even more so if he was drunk.

"Kev I just realized I've never seen you drunk."

"Well that's partially because if there's alcohol it's usually you who gets drunk and I tend to stay somewhat sober. Call it my big brother complex."

She pouted at him. She didn't want to stop him from having fun. So she decided she'd have to change that by bringing him drinks and pulling her puppy dog pout at him. He could never refuse her and especially not on her birthday.

She grabbed Mina and approached the bar tender. This club was packed compared to the bar they had previously been at and there was definitely no cheerful Andrew to serve them drinks. Nonetheless they soon got their drinks and made their way to the VIP booths where her friends were sitting.

"Kevin, your turn to have a drink with me!"

Kevin turned around and saw Serena had two shots in her hand. What he didn't know was that Serena had a fake shot because she didn't want to end up blacking out. Or maybe not so soon. So Kevin got up and took the offered drink.

" One two three!"

They both took their drink and when Kevin looked back down at Serena she was making no face whatsoever and he decided he didn't want to know what her alcohol tolerance was these days.

"Now take one with Mina! She is a drink behind and you need to catch up because you didn't drink at the bar."

"Sere, I'm not getting drunk."

"I know, you're Mr. Responsible and this and that but this is the last one. Please?"

She attacked with the pout and he gave in. So now he was standing next to Mina who held two shots in her hand. She offered him one and he gave her a quizzical look.

"Don't worry I'm not going to roofie you. Unless you want me to" She winked at him and he took the shot. She followed and without wasting a second grabbed his arm and led him to the dance floor before he could protest.

"I totally called that one", an observant Rei commented. She had actually told Serena that whenever Mina met Kevin she was going to pounce.

"Yeah but I can see them working. They're opposites in many ways but isn't that how it always works the best?" Serena looked at them disappear into the crowd. Mina would ensure Kevin had a good time and Kevin would make sure she was safe all night. She looked at Lita who was sipping a martini and chatting away with Nick who had a beer. Rei and Amy were engrossed by two blondes who were ordering drinks at the bar and not having much luck getting noticed.

"Amy, want to show them how its done?"

"Uh.."

"Come one! I know you're checking out that blonde with the waves. And I myself see a good looking man next to him."

"Well what are you planning?"

"Just come please? It won't work if you don't come"

"Okay. I wouldn't mind being introduced to him"

Lita and Nick noticed Rei and Amy approaching the two guys and watched on. Lita realized she hadn't seen Serena for a bit and then saw her two tables over making friends with another group of girls. Typical Serena.

"What are you drinking?"

"Oh me? Well I've been trying to get a gin and tonic but the bar tender seems to have a vision impairment where he is can not see dudes."

Rei looked amused at this man's frustration. Surprisingly Amy spoke up next.

"And your friend?"

"Hmm. My name's Zaachary but you can call me Zee."

"Actually I asked what you were drinking"

"Oh. I was going to get a whiskey."

Rei and Amy then turned around leaving Zee and his friend wondering what was up with them. They had just said hi and left? They were also thinking they were hot.

"Dibs on the one in red!"

"Of course you'd call dibs. But have you forgotten they just walked away?"

"We'll bump into them again. I'll make it happen."

Someone tapped the short haired blonde's shoulder and he turned around to see Rei smirking at him. She was also holding a gin and tonic for him while Amy had already given Zee his whiskey.

"You're welcome." Rei decided she'd walk away in hopes he'd call out to her.

"Wait!"

"I'm sorry did you need something?"

"Yeah. Thanks for the drinks! And may I have the honor of knowing the name of this beautiful lady who stands before me?"

"Rei."

"Rei.. Well Rei, the next round is on me."

Rei was internally grinning. "I guess", she said, nonchalantly.

From afar Serena had left the group of girls she had befriended. She was making her way to rejoin Lita when a man who was the epitome of a god bumped into her.

"Hey!"

"Excuse me. Didn't see you there miss"

Serena looked at him and could not figure out why he was wearing black sunglasses in the club. Weirdo.

She was walking away when he called out "Happy Birthday sunshine!"

She didn't think much of it, but he looked like he was handsome but there was something she felt was wrong about him. Instead of dwelling on it, she dismissed it with the thought that anyone who wore sunglasses in the club was more than likely an old creep.

She got to the table and heard Lita laughing.

"What's so funny?"

"Oh the fact that Nick just told me that Rei and Amy are chatting up with Zee and Jake."

"What?! Where?"

Lita pointed to a corner of the bar where Rei and Amy were talking to Kevin and Nick's friends. Serena rolled her eyes and decided her friends were not going to cooperate with her shenanigans if they were all engrossed in guys.

"I'm going to get a drink. You guys want anything?"

"Nope. We're all good here."

Serena left and made a face because her friends were not spending her birthday with her. She knew it was a bit selfish but her addled mind reasoned it was her birthday so she had a right to be the center of attention.

On her way to the bar she bumped into someone and looked up, hoping to see a handsome stranger that would devote the night to her. Unfortunately it was not. Still the guy she bumped into tried to engage her in conversation but Serena walked away and said bye.

At the bar she ordered a cranberry vodka. She was waiting for her drink when she caught the scent of roses and pine. It was a heavenly scent and Serena wondered who the man that was next to her could be.

He ordered a scotch on the rocks and then looked at Serena. He remembered her long golden hair, cascading in curls around her. Serena had not looked up at him yet, but as he spoke she turned to face him.

"It's my sunshine!"

"Me?"

"Ouch she doesn't remember me." He pretended there had been a blow to his heart, eliciting a giggle from Serena.

"Sorry.. You don't seem familiar.." She knew she would recognize his alluring blue eyes anywhere. She was sure she had never met this man before. She would not be able to forget his tantalizing gaze and the way her heart seemed to beat faster under his stare.

"Oh I know." He searched his pockets for something, finally pulling out black sunglasses from his back pocket. He put them on and Serena realized who he was.

"Oh you."

"Try not to sound too enthusiastic"

"Sorry. I just thought you were a weirdo. From when you bumped into me. Why would you wear those inside a club at midnight?"

"For privacy. Unfortunately it's true I couldn't see that great so I took them off after you left."

"Too bad you had them on when you bumped into me…" Serena took a sip of her drink and heard the guy laugh. She thought she had said that low enough to herself.

He seemed to be considering something as he looked her over. She would have normally been too self conscious to keep looking at him while he appreciated her, but she was not exactly sober at this point.

"Dance with me."

"What?" She had started to check him out, if he was doing it so could she.

"Come dance with me. One song and you can leave after that. Or you can stay with me."

"I'm not here by myself though"

"I'm sure you're not. But I promise one dance and then I'll walk you to find your friends and you can stay with them or let them know you'll be dancing with me.

"One song. Okay."

He grabbed her hand and led her to the dance floor as they both hoped the song would last all night.
