A/N- Here's another chapter for ya! A lot of case stuff, but some Jemily mixed in there of course. Hope you enjoy. Please review!
"Mr. Johnson, I'm Agent Jareau with the FBI and this is Emily Prentiss. I realize it's been a difficult time for you and we are truly sorry for your loss. I know you've had to answer a lot of questions from the police, but we are here to help them find justice for your wife. If we could take just a few minutes of your time, I think that you could help us do that."
Emily was impressed by JJ, just as she always had been. She was professional, yet warm and understanding, soothing victims' families with just that look on her face. That look was one of the first things about JJ that Emily fell in love with. That look was the very thing that got Kara Johnson's husband to open his door and invite them in with an almost-smile.
"I'm not sure what all I can add that might help," Mr. Johnson explained. "I've answered every possible question, I believe."
"The questions we ask are going to be a little different, but probably more personal," JJ told him. "We are profilers, which means we use all the information we can to narrow down suspects with a criminal profile. One of the factors we use is victimology, which is kind of like a profile of the victims."
"Well, I'll tell you anything you need to know to catch this guy," Mr. Johnson said with conviction.
"Did Kara have any close female friends that may have been infatuated with her or she recently had a falling-out with?" Emily jumped in.
"Infatuated? What?"
Mr. Johnson was confused. JJ shot Emily a look.
"Ms. Prentiss has a pretty solid theory that your wife's killer is a woman. Someone that Kara trusted and was comfortable enough to drink around," JJ explained slowly.
"The police told me that Kara was murdered by a sexual sadist! Some psycho guy who gets off on murdering women!"
Emily put her hand over Mr. Johnson's in an attempt to calm him down.
"Sexual sadism is one theory, but to us, this seems more personal. We obviously can't share every detail of the case with you at this time because it's only speculation, but if you know anything about Kara that you aren't telling us, now is the time to do so."
JJ wasn't exactly thrilled with the way Emily was going about this, but she actually seemed to be getting somewhere. Mr. Johnson sighed.
"I don't know if this will mean anything..."
"Any knowledge you have can help us, Mr. Johnson," JJ assured him.
"Okay," he hesitated slightly. "Well, Kara and I went through counseling together before we got married and one of the things we had to do was come clean about all past relationships, so that nothing could come up after we were married. Kara admitted to me that when she was younger, she was in a...relationship, I guess, with another woman."
"Do you know the name of the woman she was with?" Emily asked.
"No," he shook his head. "I didn't want to know."
"Did she tell you when this relationship took place?" JJ asked.
"Um, they were friends in high school. Until about two years after that, I guess."
"Wow. Sounds like more than a 'thing'," Emily mused.
Mr. Johnson looked extremely uncomfortable and JJ nudged Emily to shut her up. JJ stood and shook the man's hand and Emily followed suit.
"Thank you so much, this helps us a lot," JJ told him as they left.
Emily noticed Mr. Johnson still standing with the door open as they walked to the SUV. She grabbed JJ's hand and leaned in closer.
"Let's give him a show," she whispered.
JJ couldn't help but laugh and she gave Emily a playful shove. Emily opened the passenger door for JJ and still held onto her hand as she climbed in.
"You're terrible," JJ rolled her eyes when Emily got in on the driver's side. "Let's go tell the team what we got."

When they got back to the station, Hotch called a meeting in the conference room. Emily and JJ told the rest of the team what they found out about Kara. Hotch conferenced Garcia in on his laptop so that she could do some searching.
"You guys, Kara Johnson had 43 other girls in her graduating class. Can we narrow it down anymore?" she asked, typing away on her computer.
"We don't have any other information on this girl other than she and Kara were obviously close," JJ said. "We will have to start talking to those girls. Send us a list?"
"You got it," Garcia replied and signed off the video chat.
"There's no way that these three murders were the work of the same unsub," Derek said.
"I'm with Morgan, they're all too different," Rossi agreed.
"I'm not convinced that Kara was killed by a woman," Reid said. "Murder by overdose is a common MO for women, but the stabbing just doesn't seem to fit."
"You obviously haven't experienced the passion that comes with a lesbian relationship," Blake laughed.
Everyone looked at Alex Blake in shock.
"And you have?" Emily asked the question they all wanted to.
"Oh, it was college," Blake answered with a smile.
"We should still keep the possibility open that this was simply a male serial killer, or scorned ex-lover of Kara's," Hotch said.
"It WAS a scorned ex-lover of Kara's. A female ex-lover," Emily insisted.
"We haven't gotten that much further," Hotch sighed, eyeing Emily warily.
"Garcia should be sending the list soon. That's our next move," Blake noted.
"Meeting adjourned then."
