Hey Guys! I'm on time today! WOOP! WOOP! But I saw a lot of good reviews and I'm loving it! Sorry though, I was adding a chapter and accidently replaced the second one. All is fixed though. This one has a lot of affectionate Damon/Eli! YAY! But, this also has some funny little facts about Eli that doesn't make her normal, I also combined two episodes. Enjoy!

"Darlin' I know you ain't a witch, now what you are, I have no clue." Sheila started. Great. "No ideas, anything?" she noticed my mood, "It was a possibility you were psychic, but not until you felt the pain of when someone dies. That doesn't happen normally." I nodded, getting ready to go. She put a hand on my arm, stopping me. "What I do know, is that you are very closely related to death." I snorted, "Tell me something I don't know." and I left. I tried asking Bonnie if she knew anything, but I think she realized I was on Damon's side, so I went to her Grandmother. Who I thought would have an idea. In the end. "I was closely related to death" was I his love child or something? That could be it, I could be the devil. Like in Rosemary's Baby. Oh no, what if I start puking pea soup?
I arrived back at the boarding house in a few minutes, I recently began walking to the grill or back, or Elena's and back. Stefan said it might be useful, and when I said I wanted to speak to Sheila he jumped at the opportunity. I walked through the door to see Stefan and Damon arguing, as always. "We could try out for the amazing race!" I giggled and Damon smiled at me . Recently, it's been a lot easier to get a genuine smile from him. Stefan wasn't amused, "Mmm, that's funny. Seriously, where are you going." I frowned, upset. "You're leaving?" Damon glared at Stefan, apparently he wasn't going to tell me. I must have said that out loud because Damon replied, "I was just, trying to figure out what to say first."
I rolled my eyes, "Of course." then grew serious, I felt my voice turn childish when I said, "You can't leave, you can't" Stefan started walking towards me, I backed up and shook my head, he stopped, frowning. Damon walked up to me, kneeling, and placed his hands on my shoulders, "If you leave, I'm going back to the shelter. I don't like it there." he sighed, I can't stay, but I'll talk to Liz, see if you can stay with Stefan." I shook my head, tears pooling up in my eyes and I shook my head harder, trying to clear my eyes. I hate crying. He wiped my eyes, his voice gentler, "It'll be okay, I promise" I nodded, but I didn't believe him.
Stefan tried cheering me up, "It'll be fun, and tonight you're meeting the teachers at career night." I nodded again, feeling a little resentment towards him. The doorbell rang then and we all glanced at the door. Stefan walked over to open the door, and frowned when he saw Officer Forbes. Or 'Liz' as Damon calls her. She asked for Damon, and they left quickly, I sat next to Stefan as he listened, I grew impatient quickly and tapped my foot. I jumped when Damon and Forbes walked back in, it was completely quiet before. "Let me know if you're stopping by," "Absolutely"
As soon as the door was closed Stefan pinned him to the wall, "You killed someone?" I frowned, walking over to them. I pulled at Stefan's arm at his neck, "He didn't. Kill. Anyone. Let him go." he looked at me, then at Damon, who muttered out, "Get off me." he pushed Stefan roughly and I walked over to him. "A- don't touch me, B- if I had, I wouldn't be so obvious about it." I nodded. "And C- there's another vampire in town." I spoke up then "I think it's a new vampire. Or one who doesn't care, like you said Damon did in the beginning." Damon chuckled, but nodded. Stefan looked shocked.
"That's impossible." Damon corrected, "Obviously not," Stefan was still, "Then who could it be." Damon shrugged, "But I agree with Eli, someone new, someone who doesn't know how to cover his tracks." Stefan nodded then. I went back upstairs, deciding to consult tarot cards I got when Damon took me to Walmart, when he saw them he looked at me funny, but didn't ask. I aske who the vampire could be, getting the answer of someone close, impulsive, and creative? I decided to retry and ask when we would see him. The only word I got from this reading was soon.
"Damon?" I asked quietly, suddenly realizing he was about to leave, he sped upstairs, stopping at my doorway. I stood up, "These say he's close to us, and impulsive, but that might be how he is as a vampire. And we'll see him soon. Where are you going?" Damon was shocked, but answered, "This old warehouse, you believe in this stuff?" I rolled my eyes, "They always work when I do them, so yes, I do." he looked at me for a moment. "So you think I'll see him there?"
I nodded, "I'm going to come with you." he frowned, and shook his head, "Nope, you're not." I sighed, " I have too, you're not going by yourself, and you might need me." he laughed loudly, "How?" I smirked, "I can be bait." he stopped laughing and started glaring at me.
Ten minutes later, I was holding a weird compass while standing outside the warehouse, while being in the phone with Damon. "So what do I do now?" Damon answered, crackling, "Just wait, I'll be there in a minute." and then he hung up I sighed and jumped when he spoke in my ear, "Here." I growled, "Asshole." he just smirked. "Now go home," I stopped, "I can't leave now! He's in there! I'm not gonna leave you!" he rolled his eyes, "Of course you can, he's newbie, if your right, which you usually are, so I can take him." I rolled my eyes, "I'm still staying." He growled, "Fine, just because you helped and stay behind me." I nodded and we inched our way to the door.
He wrenched it open, and we stared at the dimly lit room, he took the first step, and as soon as he was a foot in front of the shelves Damon collapsed to the floor, bleeding from bullet wounds, I covered my mouth, barely stopping myself from screaming, and backed into the wall, luckily, he couldn't tell I was here. I flinched as pain erupted from my entire midsection. The vampire circled him, "I have tons of these wooden bullets. So, nothing funky." Funky? Really? Damon started a threat, weakly saying, "You don't want to do this, trust me." The vampire shot him in the shoulder and I flinched from my own pain and when he screamed. I suddenly started watching him carefully, my vision turning red. "Ow!" Damon screamed and I tried to keep myself from rolling my eyes. I failed. "That's what you get." I was confused, for what? Damon was as well, "For what?" I smirked as that was exactly what went on in my head.
The vampire crouched down next to Damon, "You made me like this." I faintly heard the rest of the conversation as Damon's pain got worse, god, being shot hurts. I crouched, holding my midsection, it was like fire, scorching my body. I blinked in and out of consciousness, returning to present time as the vampire screamed "They're just piling up!" They were quiet for a moment, Damon seemingly giving up. "Why am I overly emotional?" the vampire spoke at last.
"All I can think about is my ex-girlfriend. I wanna be with her and bite her and stuff." I rolled my eyes wincing quietly. "Well, you probably love her." Damon replied. "Anything you felt will be magnified now, you're gonna have to learn how to control that." as they spoke I started looking around for a weapon, something sharp, something wood, anything really. I found a shard sticking out of a plank of wood on the shelf, I grabbed it, and slowly, crept forward. Damon saw me out of the corner of his eye and frowned, but purposefully stopped looking at me.
"What about walking in the sun?" The newbie continued to ask, completely unaware of how close I was getting. Five feet, four feet, three feet. Damon looked at his ring. "I'm a morning person. You can walk in the sun, which by the way is pretty cool." I was right behind him now, I reared up and brought the shard into his neck, shoving him away from us. I was startled when he blurred away, as if another vampire shoved him. I turned around, helping Damon up, "Let's get out of here!" I was suddenly pressed up against the wall, I heard a gunshot, the vampire shot Damon again. This time the pain barely touched me, I felt as if all the power I had erupt out of me at this very second, and it felt like my veins were on fire. I shoved my hand into his neck, and winced as he screamed. He fell back and I was shocked to notice burnt flesh in a shape the size of my hand. Damon grabbed me, and we flashed out the building all the way to his car. A minute later we were home and he roughly turned me around to mutter "What the hell was that?"
After I explained I had no fucking clue what happened Damon started to go change, after calling Stefan, and I, not wanting to see him in all his 'naked glory' as he would call it, stayed downstairs checking my neck in the bathroom mirror. I had a faint bruise starting to show. I frowned.
"Come on, we're going to career night." I nodded, jumping up.
We arrived at Mystic Falls High School a quick five minutes later. Damon drove quickly. Way too quickly for my taste. When he arrived we came across Stefan to started hurriedly talking about what was going on, when they realize Logan as the newbie vamp was called, took Caroline. They told me to go 'make friends' I frowned but nodded, I would meet my teachers then. I walked around at first, not really sure what to do, but I ended up finding the principal, and after countless convincing that I was going to be a student here he handed me a list of all the junior teachers for each subject. I ended up with history first. So I found Mr. Saltzman just entering from being outside? I frowned and walked up to him cautiously. I smiled, "Hi, Mr. Saltzman right?" he nodded, his own frown appearing on his face. I smiled wider, "I'm Eli Morgan, I'm going to be a student here come Monday. He smiled then and nodded, "Interest in history then?" I nodded and giggled, "Actually you're going to be my teacher, I think so at least." He shook his head, "How old are you?" I bit my lip, "14, sir." "And you're going into junior year?" I nodded, "I skipped a few grades..." he snorted but was still smiling "So what's you're favorite thing to learn about?" I continued biting my lip, "Well it changes, my top interests are history and the supernatural though, and before you say it, I know most people don't know about the supernatural, or care. But I fin it interesting."
His grin seemed to die down at the 'supernatural' but asked "What do you mostly like in history" I grinned here, "Periods in time, if that makes any sense, the roaring twenties, the sixties, but my favorites the renaissance, a bit of a while ago, but I enjoy it the most." he smiled, "What about the renaissance?" I laughed, "The art and other pieces of culture that started during them. It's what really made us a civilization, and actually people, not just homosapiens." he nodded, but glanced at something behind me, he looked intrigue as he told me, "I'm looking forward to teaching you, but I need to speak to someone." I nodded, stepping aside to let him pass.
An hour later Damon came to collect me, seemingly upset, I talked to all of my teachers, my favorite being my Latin teacher and Mr. Saltzman. I hated the science teacher, he was a dick. "What happened?" I asked softly, his emotions were all over the place. "Nothing..." I stopped him, "Explain" he sighed, "Let's go to this lake, the house isn't really, appropriate right now." I frowned, "What?" he smirked, "Stefan and Elena are all touchy feely right now..." I made a disgusted look and he laughed.
The drive to the quarry was a long one, and while we drove he explained everything, after my pushing. He almost found a way to get Katherine, and it was ripped from him. "Do you have any idea who could have turned him? Cause obviously whoever turned him told him something about Katherine." he nodded, I don't think he realized that, so I continued, "Had to be someone who knew her. Were there any vampires who didn't burn in the church?" he was quiet, kicking a few loose stones "Annabelle. Anna, really" I nodded, and prodded, "Who's that?" he smirked, "A friend of Katherine's daughter, her mother was put in the church too.." I nodded, thinking, "That gives her a reason to want to open the tomb." he sighed, "Why are you so smart? This would have taken us ages to figure out if you weren't here." I smirked, "Then you need me, and I have a perfect memory!" he laughed and I did too. "Can you teach me how to skip a stone?" he laughed again, but nodded.
It was late when we arrived back at the house, but I didn't feel like sleeping. I was reading when Elena stormed downstairs, with tears in her eyes. I frowned, calling out, "Elena?" she turned towards the door but I got up to stop her, "Elena, what happened?" she just shook her head, leaving the room, I followed her to her car, stopping as she frantically searched for her keys. I put my hand on her arm, "Can you tell me what happened?" she sighed, calming her breathing, "You know Katherine?" I nodded, "I look like her." I frowned, "So Stefan has a preference, so what?" she shook her head "No, we're like, twins." I stopped then. Doppelgänger...? "You're going home?" she nodded, "Here, I'll sleep over, we can talk, drive me?" she looked at me gratefully, and opened the door, I got in the passenger side and she the driver's. She turned the key and we were off. I tried to ignore how upset she looked and her tears on the way to her house.
We were riving down a long road when I suddenly noticed a dark figure right in front of us, Elena noticed it too and she tried to swerve but it ended up tipping the car. I started freaking out along with Elena, when the figure snapped his bones back into place, that meant he was a vampire. We hurriedly tried to undo our belts but to no avail, she started screaming as he walked towards us, getting closer and closer. He suddenly sped away, and we both screamed when Damon popped in front of our vision. "How ya doing in there?" Elena was still crying, "Damon" "You look stuck" I let out a relieved sigh and a nod. He chucked, "My seat belt. I can't-I can't" she sobbed and I winced. I felt betrayal and anger and hurt. "Shh, Shh, Shh, let me get you out of here. Both of you. I want you to put your hands on the roof, just like that" he said as we both did. "You ready" we both nodded weakly. "1,2,3" I heard a ripping sound, and we were out. "I got you, can you stand, is anything broken?" Elena was in his arms and he set her down to help me up, but before he did I heard her say, "I look like her" before she became limp in Damon's arms. He just pulled her up, looking towards me to follow him, I nodded and did so. We ended up at his Camaro and he set her in the back seat, letting her wake up on her own, I got in the front seat and Damon got in the drivers seat and as he started driving I fell asleep to the soothing drone of the car on pavement.
I woke up to Damon yelling at Elena, "How could you be so stupid as to drive with Eli in the car when you were upset, you could have killed her!" I got out of the car to see him glaring condescendingly at Elena she was in tears again, "I'm sorry Damon, but she's fine! And she asked to go with me!" he stopped then and turned to glare at me, "Didn't you see she was hysterical? Why did you get in the car with her?" I frowned, "I wanted to help her." he laughed turning around, "Help her! Well, it would certainly help her to get you both killed!" I sighed, "Stop, Damon, you're scaring her." he stopped, and looked at her guiltily, then turned. "Come on, let's get back in the car, I need to see someone, and she'll help with your scratches." I frowned again, my scratches? I felt my body pound like a giant heartbeat and winced as every inch of my body hurt. I also had glass in my hair.
I frowned when we pulled up to a bar. "A bar, Damon, really?" he smirked, "The someone I need to see owns this bar..." I snorted, "Bree?" Bree was the name of the bar. He nodded, chuckling.
"My honey pie." I heard as we walked in. Then a very beautiful woman with dark skin kissed Damon full on the mouth. I groaned, I knew he was handsome, but did people have to throw themselves at him?
A minute later Bree was calling for a cheers to Damon, "Listen up everybody! Here's to the man who broke my heart, crushed my soul, destroyed my life, and ruined any and all chances for my happiness." I punched his shoulder but he just laughed. She turned to Elena, "So, how's he rope you in" I snorted, just about spitting out my drink of water. "I'm not roped in, I'm actually dating his-" Bree smirked, "Honey if you're not roped, you're whipped, either way just enjoy the ride." I laughed and she did too.
"So, how did you too meet?" she chuckled pouring drinks, "College." She gave Damon a look, "You went to college?" "I've been on a college campus, yes." and I giggled. "About 20 years ago, when I was a sweet young freshman, I met this beautiful man, and then I fell in love. Then he told me his secret, it made me love him even more, because, you see, I had a little secret of my own. That I was dying to share with somebody." Damon whispered to us, "She's a witch." she looked at him "You changed my world you know," he smirked, "I rocked your world." she laughed, "He is good in the sack, isn't he?" I groaned again, disgusted, and winced when I moved wrong, my scratches still hurt. Damon glanced at me, "Hey, Bree?" she nodded, "Can you take a look at Eli? She got cut up pretty bad." She nodded, and beckoned me to what I assumed to be her office. She sat me down on an office chair. She rolled up my sleeves, ignoring my bandages but gave me a long look afterwards, "How'd you meet him, girl?" I laughed, and winced as she dabbed rubbing alcohol on my cuts.
"Well, he's my foster father, so, yeah." I finished dumbly, she looked at me sympathetically.
"What happened to you, girl?" I frowned, "You know, I've heard that way too many times. Most people don't actually want to hear what happened."
We were quiet then, after some more painful dabs Damon walked in, Bree grinned, looking up at him, "What do you want?" he smirked, "You could always see right through me." she laughed but urged him on, he glanced at me stealthily, "You can talk in front of me, it's fine." he shook his head, "I know that. I was wondering how you were." I gave a thumbs up and he laughed, Bree must have been shocked at the sound cause she looked it. Right, she's probably never heard him laugh genuinely. He explained the need to get Katherine out of the tomb.
"Come on there's got to be another way." she laughed, "After all these years it's still only Katherine, how do you even know she's still alive?" he grinned trying to take her hand, she pulled away, "Well, you help me get into that tomb and we'll find out." she glared at him, "I already did, 20 years ago, remember? 3 easy steps-comet, crystal, spell." I tried ignoring them and tried keeping in my winces as she started bandaging my wounds. "There's a little problem with number 2 I don't have the crystal." she sighed, finishing quickly, "That's it, Damon. There is no other way. It's Emily's spell." he tried again. "What about a new spell? With a new crystal, that overrides Emily's spell?" she shook her head. "It doesn't work that way baby, Emily's spell is absolute you can't get into that tomb." he was upset and about to blow up, I stood up, a little shakily, and told him quietly, "If you need to go feed or destroy a car or something. Kay?" he looked stunned I could tell what he was thinking but nodded and left. Bree, who watched this exchange said, "He cares about you, ya know?" I shook my head furiously. "I wont believe that." she sighed, "He never cared about me..." I shook my head, "The reason he's here is that he cares about you, it's easy for him to care, and to not, the previous one happens quicker. He spent time with you and grew to care for you. That's just Damon." she smiled happily, "There eating, darlin' and you're starving. Go on." I grinned sheepishly and nodded.
I ordered chicken tenders and fries and ate as Elena and Damon talked. "Let's say that I'm descended from Katherine-does that make me part vampire?" Damon shook his head, "Vampires can't procreate, though we love to try..." I wrinkled my nose, disgusted. "No. If you were related to her it would mean she had a child before her change." Elena sighed, "Did Stefan think he could replace her with me?" Damon smirked, "Kinda creepy if you ask me." I rolled my eyes. "What you don't like pickles what's wrong with you?" I deftly stole the pickle from his hand, grinning triumphantly, he grinned back, "Don't think I won't steal it back..." I snorted, quickly licking the entire pickle, he wrinkled his nose, "Gross." Elena giggled.
"How can you even eat? Since technically you're supposed to be-" he grinned, whispering, "Dead?" she nodded and I laughed. "It's not such a bad word. As long as I keep a healthy diet of blood in my system, my body functions pretty normally."
"This nice act, is any of it real?" I snorted. "Do you think he's all snarls and growls with me?" She rolled her eyes, "He cares about you though." I snorted again. he nodded, "I don't care about anybody." I punched his shoulder "Of course you do, I'm just that lovable." he smiled back at me affectionately and I felt, happy, for the first time in forever.
Bree brought out a beer for Damon, "There you go honey..." Damon grinned, breaking the mirage. "Thank you." Elena stopped for a moment before calling out, "I'll have one too," we both looked at her, shocked, "Hmm?" she glared at us playfully, "Time out remember?" she said making the sign wither her hands, "If I'm gonna relax for five minutes I think I'll need a beer."
Two hours later Damon and Elena were doing shots while I was in the back playing pool with this guy named Lee. I was horribly failing by the way. after they were both and I lost to Lee Damon ran up to me, frightened, "Have you seen Elena?" I shook my head, "No, why, wasn't she with you?" he shook his head, he ran outside and I followed.
Her phone was on the ground as we looked around. We walked down an aisle, me jumping when a vampire zoomed out, hitting Damon with a pipe, I vaguely heard Elena scream "No!" the pipe hits knocked the breath out of me as Damon muttered weakly, "Who are you?" the vampire, whom I recognized to b Lee laughed bitterly, "That's perfect, you doin't even know." Elena was confused, "Know what?" Lee scrteamed out, "He tried to kill my girlfriend. I heard heels clicking on the pavement then, and a female voice calling out, "Lee, baby, let him go!" I turned, both surprised and happy to see Lexi staring at the scene before us. She wriggled her fingers at me, "Hey Eli," one side of my mouth turned up itno a half style, Lee was shocked, "Why not, babe. He tried to kill you. Let me do this." She held up her hand, "Tried, exactly, let him go." Lee smirked towards a freaked out Damon, "No one will miss him." I screamed, "I will, please Lee, stop it. I'm- I'm lost if you do." I turned to Lexi, "If he's gone, I'm gone. That's how it works." Lee was surprised I was standing up for him, but backs away.
A minute later they were both gone and Damon was writhing on the ground coughing up gasoline. I wrinkled my nose as he stood up shakily. I took Damon inside to clean up, frightening Bree, who turned around quickly. "We were just leaving, and I wanted to say goodbye." she looked really scared, and I was confused, "Good to see you again, Damon." he smirked, "No kiss?" she shook her head "I'm filled with vervain, I put it in everything I drink." he looked at her unemotionally, "You're telling me this why?" she started tearing up, "Lexi was my friend, Damon. How could you?" he sped up to her, she took a giant step back I did too, "There is no way to open the tomb." he stared at her, "You're lying." he shoo his head, taking another step forward. "Emily's grimoire, if you know how she closed the tomb, the reversal process would be in her book, you can open the tomb!" Damon took one more step, "And where is this book?" she shook her head. "I-I-I" he took one more, "You have no idea?" she shook her head, "No, I'm telling you the truth, I have no idea." "And I believe you. My dear sweet Bree, that's why I'm sorry." That's when he sped up he took her heart in his grasp and pulled, I flinched back, feeling my own heart being ripped out.
He washed his hands and we left.
"Sorry you had to see that." I nodded, "It's fine, really, and I leaned into him, suddenly feeling exhausted, "She was nice, though." I felt him nod. He smelled musky and a little bit like alcohol. We got in the car then, Elena was in the back, letting me be with Damon.
I was upset over Bree's death and tired, I pulled my knees up to my chest, resting my head on Damon's shoulder. "Take me home Damon," he nodded, and I didn't realize it was the first time I called it home.
