After school that day, Kanaya invited me over time stay the night again, but I declined; Terezi would know to look, or sniff, I really didn't care anymore, there first, and then I'd be forced to go back to the Place I use to our call home, and I didn't want that.

So, instead, I walked around the town, looking for a suitable place to sleep. I had about a handful of cash on me, not enough to rent a hotel room, but maybe enough for supper.

I found a cheap looking burger shop on the corner of town so I entered, ordering a two dollar cheeseburger. As I settled down to eat, I thought about where I was going to sleep. I paused in my chewing. One person came into mind, but I'm not sure if I could stand even one night with her. But she was the only person that might actually let me stay.

I got up and threw out my garbage, then set out to find my older sister Araena.

I knock on the door of Araena's house and stepped back, waiting. After a few moments, the door opened. A girl with long, black hair, wearing a blue dress with a white belt around her waist stepped out. She had the same blue eyes as me; The only difference was that both her eyes were clear, unlike mine, where one was clouded over and blind. She also wore round glasses. She blinked, obviously surprised to see me.

"...Vriska?!" She squeaks.

"That's my name, don't wear it out..." I mutter.

"C-come on in." She stammered, backing up to give me room to walk inside.

Once I was inside, she offered me to sit down, then went into the kitchen to grab a plate of cookies, which I happily accepted. I hadn't eaten yet today. She watched me nibble on a chocolate chip cookie for a moment before speaking.

"I thought you lived in the ..." She began. "From the last letter you sent me, Terezi moved in with you, so she must be here too..." Her voice trailed off as I began to scowl with hatred.

"Terezi's an asshole!" I hissed. "An ignorant know-it-all who no one can stand to be around! I hate her!" Araena stared at me in awe, and I was suddenly blurring everything out to her. She listened intently.

"So...you want to stay here for a night, correct?" She asked me.

"Yes." I muttered.

"You think that you can just ignore me for nine years, give or take a few, barge in here and just expect me to let you stay?" She demands.

I shrink down a bit. "Just for one night." I mutter. She shakes her head in disbelief.

"Alright. But you're going to school tomorrow." I nod. "Wait here." She walks upstairs, returning a moment later she returns with some clothes, which she throws at me. "Here, go upstairs and change in the guest room, then you can use the computer that's in there to message Terezi." I scowl, but do as I'm told. I'm not exactly thrilled at the thought of having to sleep on a park bench.

Once I was dressed in the blue flannel nightgown, ugh, it has the word 'gown' in it, and no pants, but I take what I get, I logged on to pesterchum, hoping that Terezi wasn't online. I should have learned YEARS ago that I have the worst luck.

I sighed heavily, placing my head in my hands, only lifting my head when a soft beep comes from the computer.

GrimAuxilitrax [GA] Began pestering ArachnidsGrip [AG]

[GA] Vriska? Are You Okay? Where Are You?

[AG] ::::/ I wish you would stop fussing all the time. And I'm at my sisters house.

[GA] Well, Good Night.

GrimAuxilitrax [GA] ceased pestering ArachnidsGrip [AG]

I sighed figuring that I'd better do as Kanaya told. So I shut off the computer and crawled into bed, tangling myself in the covers. I fell asleep almost instantly.

I blinked open my eyes to Aranea standing over me the next morning.

"Come on, Vriska. I have to get to work, and you have school. Remember, I only let you stay here one night, so I hope you have a plan for tonight."

"Ya, ya."I grumbled, shaking off my unease. Is was 88.8% Positive that Kanaya would invite me over. Anyway, I'd cross that ring in the road when I get there.

I walked to school, it wasn't far, maybe about a mile or two.

When I got there, my eyes sought out Kanaya, who was sitting on a bench reading. I walked over to her.

"Hey, fussyfangs, what's up?" I asked, flinging my bookbag on the ground and sitting next to her. She frowned at the name, but decided to let it slip.

"I'm fine." She hesitated before adding. "Are you staying with me tonight?"

"Can I?" I asked. She nodded. I smiled at her and she blushed slightly, fidgitting. I laughed.

"So, what do have today for classes..."

I sat on Kanaya's floor, sulking as she ran her brush through my hair. When she asked me if she could style it, I refused, but then she gave me this look and I had to give in, and now I was sulking.

"Oh, come on, Vriska. It isn't THAT bad." She chanted, twisting my hair into some sort of braid. I winced, not answering her. She sighed, undoing my hair and letting it follows down over my shoulders nd down my back before slipping off the bed and sitting down on the floor beside me. "Please forgive me, Vriska. Your hair is just really long and i hardly ever have a chance to play with long hair." I sighed dramatically, and she knew immediately that she was forgiven. Her face split into a grin and she hugged me, which caught me off guard. I just sat there for a second before hugging her back. Then her mother walked in, ordering us, with a smile, to get ready for bed. I said we would; She was like the mother I never had; I've been coming to Kanaya's house almost every day for about a month now, and she accepted me as though I was part of the family. Between her and Kanaya, I knew I was getting spoiled.

We got into our pajamas and jumped into the bed with small giggles at how cold the floor was. Kanaya pulled the blankets over both of us.

"Good night, Vriska."She said.

"Night, Fussyfangs." I mumbled her nickname before closing my eyes and falling asleep.

Kanaya's POV:

Vriska reached over and touched my face softly; I felt a blush fly over my cheeks. Her eyes sparkled. "I love you, Kanaya" She whispered, leaning in...

I shot strait up in bed, eyes wide. Beside me, Vriska was still asleep, her soft snores echoing quietly around the room. I dropped my head into my hands, groaning as realization washed over me: I had a crush on my best friend. Crap.

Sorry it's so late, but school started again, so I'll be slower with updates. :P If you have any suggestions on what you would like me to write, tell me :) I would be happy to try it out. I read Warriors, Twilight, Homestuck...anything. Just say it :) Thanks.
