Chapter 4 - Confrontations

Liz went to Johnny's side. "Are you okay?" She grabbed a napkin and wiped the blood off of his mouth.

"I'm fine. It's nothing."

"You want to tell me why he hit you?"

Johnny looks surprised.

"Really? I have eyes. It seemed like you gave as well as you got."

He smiled at her. "Do you really want to know?"

She studied him for a minute, knowing that he probably provoked Jason. "No. It doesn't matter. Let's get out of here."

She grabbed his hand and held it as they left. It was a good night and she actually wanted to see him again. A smile crept onto her face as they walked to the car. Maybe she can move on after all.

Abby slammed the door and strode into the Penthouse. She is livid. Quickly, she ran upstairs and grabbed the little bit of clothes she had left there and threw them in a bag.

Jason stood behind her. "Abby, what are you doing?"

"What does it look like I'm doing?"

"Please, stop."

She turned and glared at him. "Why should I? You clearly still want her. I'm not going to sit here and watch you pine over another woman."

He grabbed her and hugged her. "I'm so sorry, Abby. I never met to hurt you."

She stepped back. "But, you have Jason. I can't do this. I really like you, but you need to figure out what you want."

"I'm not going to lie about the part of me that still loves Liz, but that doesn't mean I don't care about you."

She finished packing her bag. "When you're over her and can give me the full attention that I deserve, call me, Jason. I can't guarantee that I'll still be free, but I just can't do this anymore."

"I understand."

She picked up the bag and started to leave. "Bye, Jason."

"Bye, Abby."

He sank onto the bed as he watched her walk out the door.

Johnny led Liz to her apartment door. "I guess this is goodnight."

She smiled, knowing that he wants to kiss her and realizing that the feeling is mutual.

He stared into her eyes.

"So are you going to kiss me or not? You know you wanna," she said really flirty.

He chuckled and then quickly captured her mouth. Liz is taken aback at first, but starts to return it. When the kiss deepened, he tugged her closer. The touch of his hands on her back gave her the chills. He pulled back and then gave her another quick peck before letting go.

"I hope we can do this again?"

"The date or the kiss?"

"I hope both."

He grinned at her and went back to the car. She touched her lips as he walked away and then went into her apartment with a huge smile on her face.

Johnny got into the car and sat back. She is everything and he doesn't care who he has to fight. There is no way he is giving up.

The next day, a dozen purple roses are delivered to the hospital for Liz. All the nurses are huddled around her asking her who they are from as Abby watched from afar.

"Ladies, ladies could you all please step aside," Johnny said smiling.

Everyone turned to look at him as Liz approached him. "Thanks for the flowers, they are beautiful."

"Not as beautiful as you."

She went to kiss him on the cheek, but Johnny captured her lips and dipped her towards the floor. When he brought her back up, she just stared at him for a minute until she heard the other nurses giggling.

"Get back to work," Epiphany said loudly.

"I'm sorry, I couldn't resist."

Liz rolled her eyes. "Follow me, please." She put the flowers down on the counter.

Thinking he is in trouble, he solemnly followed her into a room and then she closed the door.

He learned up against the wall as she stared him down.

"If you're going to kiss me, you need to do it right."

Before Johnny could say anything, Liz pulled him into a scorching kiss and when she let go, Johnny is at a total loss of words.

"Thanks again for the flowers."

When she left the room, Johnny just stood there and then shook it off. "Damn." He headed towards the elevators with a big smile on his face.

Liz put the flowers in water and then grabbed a chart and headed to a room.

"Liz…"

She stopped and then turned around. "Yes?"

"It must be great to be you. You have Jason still pining after you and now you're stringing Johnny along for a ride."

"What are you talking about?"

"We all know you still want Jason, so why are you playing around with Johnny?"

Liz took a few steps towards her. "My love life is none of your business."

"It's my business when it affects me."

"Abby, if you can't keep your man happy then that is on you."

She took a step forward. They are pretty close at this point.

"The only thing keeping me from smacking your face off right now is that I like my job," Abby said.

"Please, try it and see what happens."

Before either of them could say anything, Felix stepped in between them. "Ladies, I think we need to break up this little party."

Abby stepped backwards and then furiously walked away..

"What is her freaking problem?" Liz said.

"Well, I heard that she broke up with Jason last night."

Her eyes grew wide. "What?"

"Yup. It seems like Jason is not over you and Abby has had enough. So, what are you going to do about that?"

"Nothing, Jason made his choice."

"What I saw earlier between you and Johnny didn't seem like nothing," Felix said.

"I like Johnny."

"But you love Jason," he pointed out.

"Whatever."

"Look, you could probably get him back."

"I want him to suffer," she said angrily.

"Damn girl."

She sighed. "You know I didn't mean that."

"Maybe you need to swallow your pride and give him a call before you break someone else's heart," Felix advised.

Liz waved her hand in the air and stood. "I've got to get this chart to Monica."

Feliz rolled his eyes. "Your priorities are all screwed up."

She laughed and then went to deliver the file.
