Chapter Three: The Secret
Morning crept upon Myra, and she was still on the roof. When she heard the sound of an explosion, she jumped down from the roof, and walked to the source of the noise. She got into the mansion, and noticed that there was smoke coming from the kitchen.
"Why does he have to always make a mess?" She said to herself as she walked towards the kitchen.
When she got to the kitchen black thick smoke was covering the whole place. She stepped through the smoke, only to find Bardroy standing in the middle of the kitchen with his hair all black, and a flame thrower in his hands. He didn't notice Myra until she spoke.
"What the hell are you doing?" She asked as she crossed her arms.
Bardroy turned around, smiled, and chuckled. "I thought that since the meat had to be cooked before lunch time, that I would use my flame thrower."
"It's called an oven for a reason, hasn't anyone ever taught you how to use one?" Myra was trying her hardest to not yell.
"Well, yeah, but the oven would take all day." Bardroy said rubbing the back of his neck.
Myra couldn't stand it anymore. "NOT IF YOU USE THE PROPER SETTINGS, AND PROPER TIMMING." With every word Myra walked closer and closer to Bardroy, until he was trapped in a corner. Bardroy gulped, and could say anything. He looked up at Myra, and opened his mouth to apologize, but nothing came out. "Why are you staring at me like that? And close your mouth that's really not sanitary for a kitchen."
Bardroy continued to stare at Myra.
"Bardroy what are you staring at? It's just us. No one should be awake yet." Sebastian chuckled behind Myra. Myra spun around, and backed up knowing that Sebastian would be right behind her. "Sebastian what are you doing here?"
"I only came to see if you had everything under control." Sebastian said calmly as he looked around the kitchen at all the damage.
"Of course I have things under control. Bardroy just needs to learn how to use what resources he has."
"I don't like using things that take too long, it's too much time."
Myra turned back around to face Bardroy. "So what if it takes longer, it's better than making a huge mess in the kitchen."
"Myra why don't you go see what the other two are doing, I will handle things with Bardroy."
Myra nodded, and walked out of the kitchen. She walked up to the main parlor, when she heard her name being called. She instantly showed up at Ciel's door, and she knocked.
"Come in." Ciel answered
"You called my name master?"
"Yes I did. Where is Sebastian?"
"He is downstairs in the kitchen with Bardroy."
Ciel didn't say anything; he just sighed, and got out of bed.
"Is there anything I can do for you my young lord?"
"Some breakfast would be nice, and let Sebastian know that I am ready to start my day."
Myra gave Ciel a low bow, and started to walk out. "Of course my young lord." She walked back down to the kitchen, gave Sebastian Ciel's message, and started to prepare his breakfast for him. While she was making Ciel's breakfast for him Bardroy came up behind her and put his hand on her shoulder.
"I'm sorry I messed up the kitchen, I'll clean it right away Mrs. Karasu." Bardroy left her alone and started to clean.
Before Myra left the kitchen she turned around and looked at Bardroy. "I'm sorry I yelled at you, I just have a very short temper, and I need to learn how to control it. I'll come help you clean up the mess as soon as I give the young master his breakfast." Myra left for Ciel's room. When she approached the door she herd Sebastian and Ciel talking.
"Are you sure Sebastian?" Ciel asked.
"Indeed I am my lord, I witnessed it yesterday." Sebastian said with certainty.
Myra didn't hear anything so she knocked on the door.
"Come in." Sebastian spoke.
"Your breakfast my lord. This morning I have prepared a freshly made Belgium waffles with a sweet marmalade spread, and to drink your favorite tea Earl Grey." Myra brought Ciel's breakfast to him.
"Thank you Myra, how long did this take you?"
"Not long my lord, the only thing that took the longest was the marmalade spread."
Ciel looked at his breakfast then at Sebastian then back at his breakfast.
"Is something wrong my lord?" Myra asked.
"Of course not Myra," Ciel began to eat his breakfast and Myra returned to the kitchen. Bardroy had his back turned and he was cleaning.
"Bardroy are you ok?"
Bardroy spun around and jumped a little. "Yes, everything is fine Mrs. Karasu."
"Bardroy I've told you not to call me Mrs. Karasu just Myra is fine I don't deserve Mrs. Karasu yet, I just got here yesterday." Myra started to help Bardroy clean up the kitchen and in no time the kitchen was sparkly clean.
"Thanks for the help Mrs.- I mean Myra."
"You're welcome Bardroy, do you know where Finny is?"
"I think he is outside in the garden or he's playing with Pluto."
"Thanks." Myra left the kitchen without another word, she made her way to the garden, as she got there she didn't see him anywhere, so she decided to sit in the flowers and wait for him, he was bound to come sooner or later.
"No, no no no, Sebastian is going to be so mad, I can't let this happen." Finny said.
Myra looked around and didn't see him anywhere, until he spoke again.
"How am I going to keep this from everyone?"
Myra looked behind her and there Finny lay with his eyes closed, she tapped him on the shoulder. "Is everything ok Finny?"
Finny opened his eyes and jumped. "Mrs. Karasu I didn't know you were there, what did you hear?"
"I just herd you talking about how Sebastian isn't going to be happy about something and how you were going to keep something from everyone, is there anything you need to tell me?"
Finny's face went bright red "o-o-of course not, everything is fine."
"Finny are you sure? You can tell me anything, I won't tell anybody."
"Yeah everything is fine, was there something you needed me to do?"
"No, I just wanted to tell you that the garden is looking wonderful, the young master would be proud." Myra left and went to sit on the roof and think about what had just happened, as she was pondering her thoughts she thought back to the conversation with Finny, and how red his cheeks got when she asked him if there was anything he needed to tell her, then it hit her; Finny likes her. That must be why he was so nervous when she was trying to get him to tell her what was wrong, she just laid back and smiled. "I like him too." She said softly to herself. Myra started to day dream, and lost track of time.
"You look peaceful." Sebastian spoke.
Myra opened her eyes and chuckled. "Do you always creep up on people?"
"You should have felt my presences."
"I was distracted Sebastian, don't you ever get distracted?"
"Of course I do, but we are not talking about me, we are talking about you."
"Whatever."
"Myra that is no way to speak to your mentor, if it weren't for me you would still be stuck in hell, rotting away to nothing."
Myra stood up, and looked at Sebastian. "Sorry I was just enjoying the peace and quiet, did you need something from me?"
"The young master is ready for bed, and I need you to keep an eye on him while he sleeps, I am afraid he is in danger, so you and I need to keep a close eye on him."
"How is he in danger? He's perfectly safe in the manor isn't he?"
"Indeed he is, but when he goes out to do some errands for the queen people who aren't big fans of him follow him home."
"They follow him home?"
Sebastian just nodded and left. Myra arrived at Ciel's bedroom door moments later, and knocked.
"Sebastian it's about time you got here."
Myra opened the door. "Sorry my lord, I'm not Sebastian, he sent me to look after you for the night."
"Very well then." Ciel hopped onto his bed and waited for Myra to tuck him in
Myra walked over to the bedside, and tucked him in. She then grabbed a chair and sat down near the edge of his bed and watched as Ciel drifted off to sleep. When Ciel was finally asleep Myra put the chair back where she found it and stood by the window, as she peered out the window she noticed it was a full moon. She then started to relive all the people she had killed. Before too long she felt a hand on her shoulder.
"I will take over the rest of the night Myra, you have done a great job." Sebastian spoke softly.
Myra didn't say anything; she just nodded and walked out of Ciel's room. She walked to the main lobby, and when she got there she turned to see someone standing by the kitchen door. She started walked towards the kitchen door, as she walked she was being as quite as she could. Within seconds Myra was right behind the person; she put a hand on the person shoulder, and turned them around.
"Finny, what are you doing here?" She whispered.
"I-I- I couldn't sleep Mrs. Karasu, a midnight snack always helps me." Finny said a little scared.
Myra breathed out in relief." You scared me Finny, I thought you were a burglar."
"Why would you think that?" Finny asked confused
"Never mind that. Did you need any help? Myra asked not wanting to talk about the danger that Ciel was facing.
"No I'm fine."
"Are you sure? My brothers and sisters would always let me make them a midnight snack, because it would put them to sleep right after."
"I guess you could help me." Finny said as he walked into the kitchen.
Myra passed him, and went straight to the fridge.
Finny just took a seat at the bar table. "So Mrs. Karasu, where did you come from?"
"Umm…I came from a small town called Bakersfield."
"Isn't that in California?" Finny asked.
"Yes it is have you been?"
Finny just shook his head.
Myra finished making Finny his midnight snack and sat next to him.
Finny took a bite and smiled. "It's delicious Myra, thank you."
"No problem, it's my pleasure." Myra stood up, and walked towards the door. "Enjoy Finny and try to get some sleep."
Finny slightly smiled. "I will Mrs. Kara- I mean Myra."
Myra walked out of the kitchen and smiled; she then walked outside, and jumped onto the roof. Whenever Myra was on the roof she tended to day dream a lot, it was a place for her to relax and not have to worry about anything else. Soon it was dawn, and she jumped back down from the roof, and went to the kitchen knowing that Ciel would be waking soon and would want his breakfast. When she got into the kitchen she saw Bardroy making something.
"Good morning Myra." He said.
"Morning Bardroy, what are you making?" She asked
"I'm making a very nice dinner for the young master tonight, and I'm not even going to use me flame thrower."
"I am proud of you Bardroy. Do you happen to know where Mey-Rin is?"
Bardroy shook his head and got back to work.
Myra had finished making Ciel's breakfast, and headed up to his room. When she arrived Sebastian opened the door for her to come in.
"Perfect timing Myra, our young master was just getting in the bath, you can set his breakfast here." Sebastian walked over to the small table and waved his hand over it.
Myra didn't say anything she just set the tray of food on the small table, knowing that Sebastian would make sure Ciel got the food.
"Myra is there anything on your mind that you wish to speak about?"
"I didn't know that Finny has sleeping problems."
"What makes you say this?"
"After you came and took over, I saw him by the kitchen door, and he told me that he couldn't sleep."
"Ah yes, Finny has a very disturbing past that he doesn't like talking about."
"Like me?"
"Very much like you, maybe that is why you too get along so well."
Myra didn't say anything she just stood there.
"Sebastian I'm ready to get dressed." Ciel called from the bathroom.
"Duty calls; I am coming my lord." Sebastian went into the bathroom and was back within seconds with a dressed Ciel.
"Myra I was unaware you were standing there."
"I was just giving Sebastian your breakfast my young lord."
"Yes of course." Ciel walked towards the table and looked at Myra.
"Is there something wrong my lord?" Myra asked
"I was just thinking, and I haven't given you a bedroom yet have I?" Ciel said.
"You have not my lord." Myra responded.
"Well Sebastian can help you with that while I eat my breakfast." Ciel turned to Sebastian. "Pick whichever one you think is best Sebastian, and you know your limits."
Sebastian bowed before he spoke. "Of course my young lord." He turned to Myra. "Come with me and I will show you your room."
Myra didn't say anything she just followed Sebastian out of Ciel's room.
Sebastian walked down the hallway towards his room, and stopped just across the hallway. He opened the door and the room was dark.
Myra walked into the room and flipped on the light. The room was white and there was no furniture in there.
"We will get you a bed and a couple of other things so your room isn't so empty."
"I don't care if my room is empty."
Sebastian walked to the window and opened it.
"Why did you just open the window?"
"Come here and see for yourself." Sebastian said.
Myra walked over and looked out the window, she saw the garden, and there was Finny standing in the garden trimming all the flowers and shrubs.
"Now look up."
Myra did as she was told and looked up, there was the roof.
"Did you give me this room so I could have easy access to the roof?"
"That's not the only reason."
"What is the other reason?" Myra asked.
Sebastian just looked at Finny standing in the garden. "I know you like him."
"Is it that obvious?" Myra asked
"You forget I can sense your aura and when you are around him your aura is different."
Myra continued to look out the window and she could feel her cheeks start to burn.
"If you like him so much then why don't you talk to him more?"
"I wouldn't want to ruin our friendship. Plus I have too much to do anyways."
"If I'm correct he likes you as well, I believe you two are just too nervous to talk to each other."
"I don't want to bug him when he's working." Myra said as she walked towards the door.
Sebastian shut the window and walked towards Myra. "I understand, but maybe if you took the time to get to know him it wouldn't be so bad."
"I'll think about it, I need to go clean up the master's breakfast." Myra said as she started walking to Ciel's room. When she arrived at his door, she knocked.
"Come in." Ciel said.
Myra slowly opened the door, and entered. "How was your breakfast my lord?"
"My breakfast was quite delightful." Ciel said as he got out of bed.
Myra cleaned up his breakfast and made his bed.
"Go get Sebastian for me." Ciel said.
"Of course young master." Myra picked up the tray with the dirty breakfast dishes on it and headed down to the kitchen. On her way down she ran into Sebastian. "Our master would like to talk to you."
Sebastian nodded and walked straight up to Ciel's bedroom.
Myra arrived in the kitchen and didn't see Bardroy anywhere. She just put the dirty dishes in the sink, and walked away. She walked up to her room, and went inside, she didn't bother to turn on the lights because she just went straight to the window and climbed onto the roof. This time she didn't lay down she just looked down into the garden and admired all the flowers. Hours passed and no one came to bug her. Sunset fell upon the Phantomhive Manor and Myra jumped down from the roof and headed towards Ciel's room.
When she arrived at Ciel's room she lightly knocked on the door.
"Enter." Sebastian said ever so softly.
She slowly came into Ciel's bedroom and softly shut the door behind her. "I thought you would have come and got me by now." Myra spoke as she walked towards Sebastian.
"You looked like you needed some time to think about some things. The young master didn't mind and there was nothing for you to do."
"Well let me take the rest of the night, you deserve a break for a little while." Myra said as she dragged a chair near the end of Ciel's bed.
"If you insist Myra. Thank you for your concern." Sebastian left Ciel's room.
Myra listened to Sebastian's footsteps as he walked to his room. After she heard his door close, she listened to the sounds of the night. Time passed quicker than Myra thought, she continued to listen to the night sounds, when Ciel started moving, and moaning. She moved her chair closer to his bedside, and listened close.
"Mum?! Dad?! Where are you?" Ciel moaned.
Myra continued to listen to Ciel's dream.
"No! Mom don't leave me!" Ciel said.
As Myra continued to listen to Ciel's mumbling and she noticed that he was sweating and crying. She started to get worried so she slightly shook him, but he didn't move. She went back to her seat and whispered Sebastian's name. Sebastian slowly opened Ciel's bedroom door, and walked up behind Myra.
"Did you need something?" He asked in a soothing voice.
"I think he's having a bad dream, should we wake him?"
"If it continues to get worse we will wake him, but let him sleep." Sebastian started to walk towards the door.
Myra walked over to the edge of Ciel's bed and watched him. Sebastian listened for a couple of seconds and left the room. Myra continued to watch him and Ciel continued to thrash around in his bed. Ciel's dream continued for several minutes, and then he was still. Myra decided to stand by the window. Morning was beginning to come upon the Phantomhive Manor, and Ciel's dream had started again. Myra sat at the edge of Ciel's bed and watched carefully.
"Mum, Dad?! Where are you?!" Ciel murmured. "Don't leave me. Come back!" Ciel said a little louder.
Myra continued to sit at the edge of his bed debating whether the wake him or not, before she could make a decision, Ciel screamed and sat straight up.
"My Lord, are you ok?" Myra asked.
Ciel didn't respond, he just crawled out from underneath his sheets, and hoped into Myra's lap.
Myra didn't quite expect this but she caught him and cradled him like she would if he were her child. She slowly started rocking him, and he feel back asleep. Myra didn't want to take the chance of waking him up so she continued to cradle him in her arms. Sebastian came into the room, and saw that Myra was holding Ciel.
"Did he jump into your arms?" Sebastian asked as he walked closer.
Myra nodded, and tried to put Ciel back in his bed but he wouldn't let go of her neck. Sebastian walked over to Myra and he tried to pull Ciel off of her but he couldn't.
"What should I do?" Myra asked.
"I guess we will wait until he wakes up, he will be embarrassed to find himself in your arms." Sebastian said calmly.
"Why does he keep having these bad dreams?" Myra asked as she shifted into a more comfy spot. She figured if she was going to be sitting her for a few more hours than she had better make herself and Ciel comfy.
"His parents passed away in a fire not long ago. A few months after he had lost his parents, was when he made the contract with me. That day that I left hell was the day that our young master was looking for a demon to avenge his parent's death. The manor was rebuilt exactly the way it was before the fire. He has this bad dreams because the anniversary of his parents death is coming up, which is why is need your help around the manor. As the young master continues to have these dreams, I need you to make sure that the rest of the crew is doing what they are supposed to and not making a mess of things."
"But they don't listen to me." Myra exclaimed.
"Not all of them will, but I know that one of them will."
"So you are saying that I should ask Finny to make sure that the others are doing what they should?"
"Not exactly, you could ask him to talk to the others, Finny is very kind and understanding, and he can connect with everyone he meets."
"Why can't I connect with him?" Myra asked confused.
"You just have to talk to him more. He does love being outside."
Myra just smiled and thought about talking to Finny about things that he liked. Sunrise came faster than Myra had expected and Ciel started to move. Myra continued to hold him and waited for him to wake up. She looked into his face and saw his eyes slowly start to open.
"Good morning my lord, what would you like for breakfast?" Sebastian asked
"Scones will be fine." Ciel tried to roll out of Myra's arms but she caught him before he could. "What am I doing in your arms?" He asked
Myra set Ciel on the edge of the bed and stood in front of him. "You had a bad dream and you crawled into my lap young master."
"Then why didn't you put me back in bed?"
"I tried to but you wouldn't let go of my neck. Sebastian told me to keep you in my arms until you woke." Myra stepped back and looked at Sebastian.
Ciel stood up, and walked over to Sebastian and slapped him so hard that there was a red mark on his face for a split second, and then it vanished. Myra took a small sharp breath in and she was surprised that Sebastian didn't react to what Ciel has just done.
"Why did you tell her to continue holding me? You know how I feel about you reacting to my bad dreams. You aren't here to make sure I'm cradled in my sleep when I have a bad dream. You are here to help me avenge my parents."
"I understand my lord. I didn't want you to hurt yourself, your thrashing was severe tonight." Sebastian calmly explained.
"Well next time just let me be, pry me off Myra next time if you have too." Ciel said as we walked towards the bathroom.
"I shall go get your breakfast for you my lord." Myra announced as she left the room.
As she left the room she could hear Sebastian and Ciel arguing. 'They always argue when I leave the room.' She thought to herself, as she made her way to the kitchen she bumped into Finny.
"Oh, please excuse me Miss Karasu." Finny said as he helped himself up.
Myra assisted him as he tried to get up. "I've told you Finny, don't call me Miss Karasu, Myra is just fine."
"Sorry Myra, it's a habit for me to call people by their formal names."
"Well I don't deserve a formal name just yet, I barely arrived weeks ago." Myra looked into Finny's light blue eyes, and started to day dream.
"Myra what are you looking at?" Finny asked curiously
Myra blinked and looked away, she could feel her cheeks starting to turn red. "I thought I saw something in your hair, but it was nothing."
"Oh, well if you need me I'll be in the garden." Finni left without another word.
Myra continued to stand there, and almost forgot what she was doing. She walked into the kitchen and Bardroy was standing over the stove.
"Bard, what have I told you about staring at the food?"
Bardroy turned around, and when he did he was holding a tray in his hands. To Myra it looked like breakfast.
Myra continued to look at Bardroy. "Did you make this?"
"Yeah, I figured I would make the young lord some breakfast, and the right way."
"This looks amazing." Myra looked at the food on the tray. "Do you mind if I taste it? I wouldn't want the young master to not like it."
"Of course." Bardroy handed her a separate plate with scones, fresh fruit, and some jam or honey for the scone.
Myra took the plate and sat down, she took one bite of the scone without anything on it. "Bard, this is amazing, what did you put in it?"
"I used this recipe." Bardroy handed her an index card. "There are a ton of them in the cupboard."
Myra read the recipe, when she got done with it she set it on the table and stopped eating.
"Is there something wrong?" Bardroy asked.
Myra didn't answer him she thought back to when she was living with her dad, this was the exact same recipe she used.
"Bard let me see the rest of the recipes please." Myra spoke not looking at him.
Bardroy walked over to the cupboard and pulled out a small box, containing a bunch of recipes written on index cards, and handed them to Myra.
Myra took out the first one she saw and read it, she took out another and read that one. She put the recipes back, and turned the box upside down. She then dropped the box and stood up.
"Myra? Is there something wrong?" Bardroy asked.
Myra started to back away from the counter, and didn't say anything to him.
Bardroy walked over to her and put his hands on her to make her stop. He looked her in the eyes. "Myra are you ok?"
She continued to have a blank look on her face. Bardroy walked over to the box of index cards and started to clean up the mess. He looked at the bottom of the box and saw Myra's name written on the bottom. He walked back over to her after he cleaned up the mess.
"Is that what's wrong? Your name is on the bottom of that box?" Bardroy asked her looking confused.
Myra continued to have a blank face, and didn't move. Finny came into the kitchen moments later.
"Hello Bardroy, Hello Myra" Finny said as he walked over to the sink to get a drink.
"Hey Finny." Bardroy said.
"What's wrong with Myra?" Finny asked.
"I don't know. I made some scones for the young master, and I used a recipe from this box. Myra looked at it and now she's frozen. I can't get her to move an inch." Bardroy explained.
"Oh, let me try something." Finny walked over and waved his hand in front of her face. "Myra, Myra are you there."
Myra continued to stand still.
"Maybe we should go get Sebastian, he would know what to do." Finny said.
"Ok, you go get Sebastian, I'll bring the young master his breakfast. I think that's what Myra was coming down to do but she is won't move." Bardroy gathered a plate with two scones a nice helping of fresh fruit and some toppings for the scone, and put it on a serving tray. He then walked out of the kitchen, and to Ciel's room.
Finny left the kitchen in search of Sebastian. He went outside and looked everywhere, but there was no sign of him. He went back into the manor and looked for him there, he checked the ballroom, and the library, but Sebastian was nowhere to be found. Finny started his way back to the kitchen, and got knocked over.
"Finnian, please watch where you are going." Sebastian said.
Finny stood up and backed away. "Right sorry Mr. Sebastian sir, I was looking for you."
"Indeed I know you were. What is it you need Finnian?" Sebastian asked.
"Its Myra sir, she's in the kitchen, and she won't move." There was some worry in his voice.
Sebastian didn't say anything he just walked into the kitchen, and looked at Myra. "How long has she been like this?"
"I don't know, Bardroy said she came in to get the young master some breakfast, and he showed her this box, then after that she froze." Finni explained.
Sebastian walked over to the box and looked at it, he flipped it over and saw her name on the bottom. Without saying a word, he walked over to Myra and swept her off her feet.
"What's wrong with her Sebastian sir?" Finni asked worriedly.
"It seems she is in a state of shock." Sebastian walked up the stairs with Myra in his arms and to her room. He opened the door and laid her on her bed. He then walked out and shut the door, on his way back downstairs he stopped at Ciel's study. He entered the study knowing Ciel was expecting him.
"My lord, it seems something has happened to Myra."
"And what is that?"
"She is in a state of shock."
"How is she in a state of shock?"
"I don't know the details, but I assure you I will figure them out."
Ciel just nodded, and got back to his work.
"That's not the only reason I came in my lord."
Ciel looked up at Sebastian. "Then what is? I have a lot of paperwork to do."
"I was just curious if you had received your breakfast this morning?"
"I did."
Sebastian nodded. "I will leave you to your paperwork. Call me if there is anything you acquire." Sebastian left with a respectful bow.
Sebastian went back to the kitchen, and Bardroy was cleaning up his mess from making breakfast. He turned around and almost dropped what he was holding.
"Mr. Sebastian sir, you scared me. Is everything ok?" Bardroy asked, as he continued to clean.
"I wanted to ask you what happened to Myra. I need to know everything." Sebastian said calmly.
Bardroy explained what happened with Myra, and when he finished his story, he looked at Sebastian. "Is going to be ok?"
He simply nodded, and said "Yes she will be fine." He walked out of the kitchen and back to Ciel's study. He knocked softly.
"Come in."
Sebastian walked in, and bowed. "I have found out what happened to Myra, my lord."
Ciel just looked at him.
"It appears that after she was changed into a demon, and brought to hell, some of her things came to the manor, when she arrived. She is in a state of shock because a particular item came with her that she wanted to forget about. I assure you she will be fine by tomorrow morning."
"Good there are a couple things I need her to do for me." Ciel said attending to his work.
"I could run those errands for you today if you would like me to."
Ciel looked up at him. "No, she must be the one to do it. I need to know if she is willing to sacrifice everything for me."
Sebastian nodded. "Of course my young lord." He exited with a respectful bow

.
Ciel returned to his work. Outside the mansion Finny was collecting some flowers for Myra, after he was done he walked up to her room. He stood there and hesitated to put the flowers by her door. After a couple of minutes he softly laid down the flowers and walked away. He walked out into the garden again and tended to the flowers. Time flew by and he felt a soft touch on his shoulder.
"Oh I'm sorry Finny, I didn't mean to scare you." Mey-Rin said, as she stepped back so he could stand up.
Finny looked around and saw that it was dark. "What time is it?"
"It's a little after nine."
"I must have fallen asleep tending to the garden."
"Mr. Sebastian sent me to come look for you."
"He did?" Finny looked up at Mey-Rin and smiled.
Mey-Rin simply nodded and held out a hand to help Finny up. Finny took her hand and thanked her.
"Let's get inside before Sebastian comes looking for both of us."
Finny nodded and as he started to walk towards the mansion he notice a person sitting on the roof. He stop dead in his tracks.
"Ah, Finny you did you stop?" Mey-Rin asked as she fixed her glasses.
"Look there is someone on the roof." Finny pointed to where the person was sitting.
"I don't see anyone." Mey-Rin said confused.
"But they were right there just a second ago."
"Maybe you're seeing things Finny. Let's go inside." Mey-Rin walked up to the door and opened it. Finny followed closely behind.
"Goodnight Finny." Mey-Rin walked to her room and left Finny in the foyer.
Finny made his way to his room, and continued to think about the person sitting on the roof. He got to his room and noticed a small piece of paper on his door. He took it off and read it.
'Thanks for the flowers, they were really pretty. I can tell you handpicked them and took the time to get the ones that weren't all the way bloomed, but bloomed enough to put into a vase to grow. I hope I can return the favor one day. –Myra'
Finny dropped the note and stood there shocked.
"Finny are you ok?"
He spun around on one foot, only to see Myra standing behind him.
"Mrs. Karasu what are you doing out of bed?"
"Finny please, just Myra, and I feel fine. I was just in shock from that recipe is all."
Finny blinked a couple times. "Are you sure you're going to be ok? When Sebastian took you to your room he said you wouldn't be awake till tomorrow."
Myra scoffed. "He only said that so I wouldn't be bugged. I woke up a few minutes after he left my room, that's when I saw your flowers you left me and I came to find a vase to put them in, so they won't die. What are you doing up this late?"
"I fell asleep in the garden, Mey-Rin woke me up."
"Oh, well I better let you get some sleep. Goodnight Finny." Myra walked towards the kitchen.
Finny picked up the note and went into his room.
Myra walked back to her room and sat on her bed.
Sebastian emerged from the sitting room next to the foyer, and chuckled. "So much to do and yet so little time." He walked up to Ciel's room, and stood there for the rest of the night.
