Hello everybody! It's been awhile but I'm happy to say that I think I know how I'm gonna do some major scenes in my story! I know I'm a terrible updater, but I haven't forgotten this fic and I will keep writing. I can't wait till summer break, I know that I will definitely be able to update more often than now!

Anyways please enjoy!

I don't own Inuyasha, But I do own this story and my OC's.

"Okay Ghost, we're lost." I surveyed the area and glared with all my might at something that couldn't be seen. We had been walking around for about twenty minutes to seemingly nowhere. We, meaning me and the abusive ghost.

I winced lightly and shook my head. My headache seemed to come and go like a wave in the ocean, and right now was one of those coming times. I rubbed my head tenderly and sighed.

Another sharp push to the shoulder sent me trotting in a leftward direction. I growled loudly as we entered a clearing that I recognized from earlier. "Okay now I know we're lost. Have you been leading us around in circles? Honestly I think death has made you insane, picking on innocent bystanders, leading them nowhere." I yelped as Ghost, as I named it, shoved my head to the side.

"No need to get pushy!" I yelled out shaking my fist. I stood still for a while as I felt a strange tingling down my back. My hair stood on end and I wiggled around uncomfortably as I felt a dark menacing presence. I glanced around nervously already getting into a position to dart off if need be.

I swallowed loudly before looking in a random direction, "Um Ghost? I think it would be a good idea to leave right about now…" a sharp shove to the shoulder sent me staggering forward and I quickly began walking in that direction. Another push after another made me quicken my pace. Clearly Ghost was trying to get us away from the clearing, but my so called quickened pace wasn't enough for Ghost, and it kept pushing until I was in a dead sprint.

The longer I ran, the more the pain in my head lessened, but the pull in my chest got stronger. Soon enough, I didn't need Ghost telling me where to go. All my senses seemed to have disappeared and I was basically galloping through the woods blindly.

Somewhere in the back of my mind I heard what sounded like a panicked squawking and the shrill voice of a little girl. Before I could stop myself, a tree root caught my foot, and I all but flew forward through the tree line successfully face planting into the dirty forest ground.

I groaned loudly and flipped over onto my back. Getting stabbed through the heart really makes a person clumsy, doesn't it? I giggled lightly at the thought and then groaned again while rubbing my nose.

"You there! Woman! Leave before I incinerate you with the staff of two heads!" I turn my head left and right looking for the source of said squeaky voice. Quirking an eyebrow, I began to suspect that maybe Ghost was talking to me. I giggled again. No wonder Ghost was so cranky, anyone would be with a voice like that. I sighed as my earlier headache disappeared completely.

Suddenly, a hard object wacked into my back, and I shot up from the ground glaring at the culprit. There, standing a few feet away, stood a little girl and what looked to be a very bug eyed frog bird thing waving around a huge stick. Probably the source of what hit me. It was by far the ugliest creature I had ever seen.

"I am not ugly you stupid wench!" Had I said that out loud?

"Well you sure aren't the prettiest creature I've seen-ah." I glanced from the toad to the frightened girl and wiggled my eyebrows with a wide smile, that she obviously couldn't see. Seriously, the kid looked like she had seen a ghost. Then again, with the company I have kept in the last hour, I wouldn't be surprised if she could see Ghost.

The girl let out a sweet laugh, and instantly calmed down. The frog squawked and instantly jumped in front of the girl, stick in hand of course. Some sort of crazy feral maternal instinct came over me, this poor girl probably got kidnapped by this ugly toad. Obviously, being as majestic as I am, I was gonna rescue her.

I crouched a little and glared at the toad. "Why you pervert! Preying on innocent little girls! You should be ashamed of yourself!" I launched myself forward, snatching the stick from the toad, and then continued to beat him over the head with it. I am so cool.

I grinned happily as the toad fell to the ground wailing about his 'Lord mushroom' or something like that. We were clearly dealing with a very serious case of delusional toad. It's pretty common in these parts I hear.

"Stop!" I immediately stopped hitting the toad, my arms relaxing to my sides, as I turned to look at the girl. I didn't want to stop, I don't even know why I did, my body just reacted. "Please miss, he is my friend." I stared at the girl a little bit longer, mama bear instincts dwindling now that he wasn't deemed a threat.

I stared at her for a moment longer, before I threw his stick down and smiled sheepishly. "Well why didn't you just say that in the first place!" I giggled and walked to the girl plopping down onto the ground next to her as she let out a breath of relief.

"So doll, what brings you to this part of town?" I smiled at the girl, and she looked up at me through her eyelashes shyly.

"Well, Rin travels with master Jaken and her lord. We stopped here for the night." Oh no, the toad delusions have spread to her as well, poor kid.

"Ah, I see. So I'm assuming you are Rin?" She nodded and smiled lightly at me. "That's a great name Rin, my names Mari, it's very nice to meet yah!"

"Rin, You foolish girl! You don't go around talking to strangers!" I glared at the toad as he lifted himself off the ground.

"Well if you don't ever talk to strangers, how do you ever make friends?" He glared at me, and I winked before glancing back to Rin. "So doll face, you actually, willingly, travel with this guy?" She nodded again. "Why?"

"Rin has no family, and the Lord, Master Jaken, and Ah-Un, took me in." I pursed my lips and nodded.

"Well that's nice of them." She smiled and nodded enthusiastically. "I just took in a ghost recently…" I trailed off when I felt a sharp tug at the back of my head. I looked at Rin's shocked faced and grinned. "Just kidding." Apparently Ghost didn't appreciate that earlier remark. Perhaps I should keep her, I'm deciding Ghost is a her because nothing that sassy could be a man, on the down low. Wouldn't want anyone to think I'm crazy or something.

"Uh, Rin, who is Ah-Un?"

"Oh, they are our travel companions and they're a two headed dragon. They can even fly!"

I giggled at her enthusiasm and smiled, "Hmm, and where is said flying two headed dragon travel companions?"

"Oh he had some business to attend to." I looked strangely at the girl and smiled. What kind of business do dragons do? "He has to go to the bathroom" She whispered lightly in my ear. Oh, that kind of business.

"Well where is your Lord?"

The toad answered before Rin could."Our great powerful Lord is on the hunt for a fiend lurking in the forest! He will be back soon woman so you should take your leave! You harlot, you are not even worthy of my lords very presence… " I nodded at the toad's rambling and waved my hand in the dismissively. I was oh so scared of lord mushroom. Note, sarcasm. Toad probably ate some mushrooms…

"Master Jaken! You should not call someone such terrible things." I mentally cheered Rin on as she put her hands on her hips and gave Jaken a look that a hungry kitten might give to a caterpillar.

I giggled lightly and put an arm around the girls shoulders before giving her a half hug. "Aren't you a cutie! I think I'm going to keep you." I smiled brightly at her as she blushed and giggled. The toad wailed loudly for the whole world to hear.

I smelt a certain scent then that I hadn't smelt earlier do to certain distractions, and immediately stiffened,. It was lingering strongly in the air, a scent I haven't smelled in many years. I immediately stood up and began walking toward the forest as I called out saying I'd be back, leaving a dumbfounded Rin and Jaken. Ghost began tugging my hair lightly, but I wasn't paying attention to her anymore. The only thing on my mind was that scent. It was barely there, but still I could smell it clear as day.

I began running through the forest. Bergamot Spice, Black Pepper, Grapefruit, I could smell it now. Blue Sage, Nutmeg, Ginger, faster through the trees. A very slight hint of musk. Everything is a blur, I'm flying now. I know every bit of this scent so well.

Next thing I know I see a head full of long silver hair wrapped tightly in my arms and I'm falling to the ground of a familiar clearing. I don't let go even when he growls.

"Touga…" I close my eyes and burry my face in his hair, I didn't notice the difference in his scent up close then how it used to be. I didn't smell the honey or the slight drop of poison. I didn't smell any of that. I just knew I was holding one of my most beloved friends, and that's all that mattered.

I lifted his face to mine squeezing my eyes shut tightly, kissing him all over his face. My veil lifted just enough to allow me to actually use my lips. He was in shock, I could feel it in the tension in his face. It must be from not seeing me all these years. "Oh my dearest friend, don't cha recognize me?" I said between kisses. "You won't believe how glad I am to see you again." In my extreme delirium, I kissed him straight on the mouth, and that's when my eyes flew open.

Definitely not Touga's lips. These were far too soft. Toga's were always rough. I looked straight into blood red eyes and heard a loud growl. I pulled back instantly allowing my veil to drop back into place and smiled sheepishly at the angry young, and dare I say beautiful man's face.

"Human, you will explain this instant. How do you know my father?" I blinked widely as I dropped my hands and backed up from him.

"What do you mean your father?" I gulped lightly as he stood up and towered over my small form.

"I mean, how does a human woman like you, know my father's name. Speaking and acting as if you are so familiar with him?" I stood up slowly and crouched moving away from the now very apparent handsome demon.

"Whaah? Who are you?" I asked lightly taking another step back, ready to retreat.

"I am Lord Sesshomaru, son of Inu no Taisho, Lord of the West, the man you seem to believe you know." I scratched the back of my head and smiled sheepishly at him.

Sesshomaru's eyes began turning from a non- demonic red, to a honey gold. The two jagged magenta stripes on either side of his face smoothed out as he glared coldly at me.

I stared a bit longer at his face. The crescent moon on his head proved who his mother was (not that that glare didn't prove it enough) and he definitely was the spitting image of his father. Smells just like him.

"Well bend me over and beat me red! I finally meet the infamous Sesshomaru. I should have known it was you, your scent smells just like you fathers. Your parents talked about you a lot." I began circling him, analyzing him as carefully as he analyzed me.

A slow smirk spread on my face. "And you sure are one very handsome puppy." I muttered under my breath as I appreciated his lovely behind. Apparently he heard me, because he whipped around and snarled. I giggled and lifted my hands up in a 'I surrender' motion. "Just speaking the truth love."

"Yet you are avoiding the truth." I opened my mouth to respond but ended up pursing my lips and lifting an eyebrow.

"Touché'." He had a point.

"Woman, tell me how you know my parents, how you know my father, before this Sesshomaru rips you apart."

"Is that a promise love?" I whooped lightly and laughed. He glared at me and I gulped. "Just joking…"

He growled menacingly at me. Yep, he totally wants me. Must be my animal magnetism. "Woman you are wearing my patience thin." Did I say that out loud? What is with me and my loose mouth today!

"Ahememam." I hacked a bit clearing my throat. "What was the question again?"

"I will not repeat myself again." I glowered at his pretty face and sighed.

"We are old friends that's all."

"That is not possible.." He said it more to himself then to me. I tilted my head to the side as I watched him watch me.

"Look, I'm kinda having a crazy night. I was just impaled though the heart, I have a deranged ghost following me, and I need to get back to my new friends. Also this conversation is giving me a headache, so if you wouldn't mind please directing me to your father?" He lifted his hand and tensed.

"You are about to see him really soon." He threw his arm forward and a whip of green light came flying at me. I squealed and quickly dodged it, looking at the tree that it hit instead of me and watched it melt on contact. Out of the corner of my eye I could see the same green light flying at me again, and I dodged again.

"What the hell is your problem?" I cried out as he kept swinging his green whip at me. I probably looked like an idiot dodging, running around, flailing my arms. "Are you crazy?" He roared loudly as he finally ceased his whip and instead pinned me to the ground, a strong hand wrapped around my throat.

"Woman, you speak lies!" I cried out, pushing against his chest and shook my head.

"Get off! I'm not lying!" Still his hand kept squeezing tighter and tighter. Finally before my head could pop off, I gathered energy into the palm of my hands and pushed his chest sending him flying. This isn't something I usually do, but it was necessary. I was just about to dart off before once again I was pinned to the ground. God this guy couldn't take a hint.

"Just forget it! I'll find him myself!" He stared down at me looking me straight in the eye. To small hand print were burned through his armor and clothing. My hand prints.

"How is it that a human woman could tackle me to the ground? That a human could dodge my attacks." I began thrashing around violently. He pushed me on the ground a little harder. "That a human could not only shove me, but burn me." I glared at him and he glared back. "That a human as young as you could know my father when he has been dead for 200 years." At that I froze.

"What?"

"I do not repeat myself."

"That isn't possible, the last time I saw him was four years ago. That's just… it's not.. " I trailed off and squished my eyes closed. Touga couldn't be dead, he was invincible. Did that mean that my…

"Oh god, please tell me you lying, please."

"He died saving his bastard hanyou son, and his human wife." He sounded so bitter. I was in shock to say the least. Touga had a human wife? He had son with her? What the hell is happening?

"I don't understand. Are you sure? Oh god, oh god." I sat up swiftly when he let me go, and began wailing loudly. "He is not dead. I saw him four years ago." I felt something in my chest twist agonizingly. It hurt, I hurt.

I was angry at Sesshomaru. He was lying to me, there was no way Touga was dead. He was my friend, my dog, and this boy in front of me was telling me he was gone. I didn't care how strong and pretty Sesshomaru was, I wanted to rip off his face, I wanted him to hurt like I was hurting.

I took a deep breath in and tried to calm down. This was not me, I am a good person, I don't want to kill my best friends children. I let the breath out, and glanced up at Sesshomaru, who was now standing above me. "He isn't, right?"

I was calm now. "He is, and has been for 200 years. I have seen his remains." So many emotions ran through me in a second. I had seen him four years ago, but was that just based on my time? How long had I really been sleeping? This man is saying two hundred years, could he be right? I shuddered and then hopped up on to my feet shaking my head. 200 years. 200 years. All that time, and so much had happened. For all I knew it could have been more than that.

I was mad again, the man who did this to me, he left me to rot for 200 years or more. I sighed again. Don't dwell on it Mari.

"What are you?" I looked up at Sesshomaru for awhile and finally let go. My curly hair grew wilder and I could feel my nails grow out into claws. light markings, stripes, appeared on my wrists, waist, and ankles. A long tail grew from behind but was hidden within my baggy pants, I could feel it twitching though. My glamour dropped immediately.

I knew he could see my eyes change to a light green and my pupils dilate to adjust to the darkness. My features became slightly sharper, and had he been able to see my mouth, he would have seen my round little canines sharpen.

This was me, I was a hanyou, and had been wearing a glamour for years. I watched him curiously as his faced morphed into one full of disgust.

"A neko half breed." He didn't even try to hide how disgusted he was with me, I smiled brightly pushing Touga's death to the back of my mind. "A mix of two of the creatures this Sesshomaru despises. Yet you must be clever, leading me off your trail, leading me in circles." That wiped the smile off my face. Is that what Ghost was doing by getting us lost? I chuckled lightly and scratched the back of my head.

"Yeaaahh, that's what I was doing…"

"And a glamour that can completely seal you identity. Although not very well, I sensed your presence while you were walking through the forest. It was strong enough to wake me. Where did a little half breed like you obtain enough power to do that?"

"Oh you know, friend of a friend and what not. Little half breeds like me have connections you know? Well obviously not since you're a pure breed puppy." I began making my way to the edge of the clearing as I felt his aura begin to spike.

"I suppose though I should introduce myself considering I know you yet you don't know me. My name is Mari, although I am not opposed to being called goddess divine or your future wife." I yelped as his green whip nearly hit me. "Learn to take a joke!" I growled out swaggering toward the trees. Sesshomaru had begun his whip attacks again and I began my arm flailing dodges.

I had already made it into the forest with Sesshomaru hot on my heels. One of his whips completely missed hitting somewhere above me. "Aha! Mari wins this battle dog!" I did a little dance ready to dart off until I felt something heavy smash onto the top of my noggin. I laid on my back looking up at the tree whose branch melted off and hit me in the head. "But apparently not the war." I groaned as Sesshomaru appeared above me staring down with the face that looked like an angry demon, oh wait….

"Are you prepared to die wench?" I chuckled lightly as I stared up at him as hand began glowing green.

"Not really no." I pushed off my hands and flipped back onto my feet before hightailing it back to Rin and Jaken, arms flailing and all. I could feel Sesshomaru following closely behind and I realized he was toying with me. If he wanted he could have easily ripped me to ribbons. Apparently the little dog liked a good chase, and a little cat like me was more than willing to oblige. I smiled and increased my speed, I always did love playing tag.

As I made it to the clearing were Rin and Jaken were I tripped. Over the exact freaking root I tripped over the first time. What is up with that! I groaned again rolling onto my back and squealed lightly.

"Rin, Jaken, run away there is an evil demon about to come and eat your face." Rin screamed and Jaken flailed, but once Sesshomaru entered the clearing both stopped and looked at him slightly relieved. He stood over my fallen form glaring. I giggled up at him, "We really need to stop meeting like this."

"Lord Sesshomaru! Did you find the scary demon who came onto your land? Is he the one going to eat our faces? Oh that's our new friend named Mari! Hey Mari, why do you look weird?" I sat up and looked at Rin.

"The scary face eating demon messed me up." Rin oh'ed and nodded. Sesshomaru growled and lifted me up by the back of the neck. I squirmed a bit and then smiled up at him. "Rin, this is the face eater, take Jaken's stick and beat him with it." I whispered loudly.

"Oh no Mari! That's our Lord!" I quirked a brow and looked at Sesshomaru.

"Wait a second. Your Lord Mushroom? I did not see that coming. It seems the toad isn't delusional after all, hahaha."

"Please Lord Sesshomaru, let her go. She is Rins friend." I was dropped onto my butt and I let out a loud huff as I stared up at the dog.

"You will leave the area immediately."

"Um no, I won't." I glanced to the left as a two headed dragon walked in through the forest. Once they saw me and Sesshomaru they tilted their head to the side and plopped onto the ground. I smiled at them as they huffed loudly and closed their eyes resting their heads on the ground to sleep. Apparently peeing took a lot out of them.

"Woman, you will leave or this Sesshomaru will dispose of you."

"Ugh, why do you refer to yourself in third person? And leave a little girl by herself with a group of male demons? Absolutely not!"

"Are you questioning this Sesshomaru's honor?" I quirked an eye brow and stared at him. He growled loudly and clenched his hand. I hissed back and got into a protective stance in front of Rin. Only one thought ran through my head, protect the girl.

"Bring it on dog, there no way I'd leave her be herself. You probably don't know the first thing about how to care for children, human children for that matter."

"Now you question my intelligence?" His eyes began turning red.

"You bet your ass I do! You're a dog and male. As a female, I naturally have a motherly instinct. As half human, I'm the one that can explain things to her that you male demons would not understand. As half a feline, I am smarter than dogs!"

He roared loudly and tackled me to the ground ready to rip out my throat. "See what I mean? All brawn no brains. Letting your emotions rule your actions. What if she says something like that when she is angry as most girls will eventually do? Are you going to rip out her throat? After all, a taunt was all it took for you to attack me, I wonder is it because your hatred for half breeds, or is it because you lack control." He stopped and stared at me as I smiled up at him.

"You are toying with me." He growled.

"You will find that every action I make has a purpose Sesshomaru. Do you understand the purpose for this one?" I whispered lightly. I looked over to Rin who was beginning to tear up. "Come now Sesshomaru, I hear you have amazing control over your emotions, more than most dog demons. Prove your fathers praises right." He stood up and growled at me his eyes going back to normal. I stood as well.

Rin came to my side and grabbed my hand, I was ready to make a snarky comment to him about how she preferred me but she pulled me to look down to her. "Please don't make him angry, Lord Sesshomaru is good to Rin and Jaken." Just like that my comment flew out the window and I was left not wanting to make the dog angry. What was it about this kid that made me follow her soft spoken commands? I sighed and rubbed my head.

Ah-Un let out a yelp as he flopped over onto his side in his sleep. He stood up immediately and began trying to yank at one of the saddle bags strapped to his back. As the others watched intrigued at his antics, I cautiously made my way over to the dragon. One of the heads wined loudly and pushed me closer to the bag. Clearly they wanted whatever was in it out.

I reached into the bag and pulled out a sharp object which must have poked the dragon while they were sleeping. The heads let out a happy snort and bonked their heads against my arm as a thank you.

I was much too busy staring at the object in my hand. A crystal handle with silver vines wrapped around it, and a obsidian stone at the end. The blade also made of obsidian. My hand closed around my dagger. Well this explains a lot. I turned and looked at the group, primarily Rin.

I smirked at the group and twirled the blade expertly in my hand. "Someone has been very naughty it seems."

I entertain by picking brains
Sell my soul, by dropping names
I don't like those! My God, what's that!
Oh, it's full of nasty habits when the bitch gets back.

I'm a bitch, I'm a bitch oh, the bitch is back
Stone cold sober as a matter of fact
I can bitch, I can bitch 'cause I'm better than you
It's the way that I move, the things that I do oh

Elton John - The Bitch Is Back Lyrics

Yes I know Im a terrible updater, and yes you may kill me, but I want to thank all those who have stuck with me despite my terrible updating. Thank you guys, I love yall!

For those who actually read the author notes and what not, I considered writing in third person because I wanted yall to see a little bit from Sesshomaru's perspective, but I decided against it. He may seem a little OC right now but I promise it will be explained in later chapters why he is acting weird. Also Mari is suppose to be a little crazy, kind of bi polar which is why she blows thing off. Again everything will be explained so please be patient with me.

So if you haven't noticed(pfft), I put lyrics at the end of every chapter. They are the inspiration for my chapter and I also just really like the songs. So check em out if yah like! Also this specific song is gonna be kind of ironic, for those who read the lyrics and the chapters. Its gonna be great, well at least in my opinion.

Anyways please review/follow/favorite. I feed off yalls vibes guys and it inspires me to write more. Oh and I am totally open to criticism, I really want to know what yall think I need to improve on and what not. Anywho, I hope yall enjoyed it!

~XoXo LoLa
