AN: I guess nothing i say can tell you how sorry i am for not updating. to be honest I left FanFiction for a while. I moved out of my parents house and got my own place, got a job and kept going to school. Then it all kinda fell apart, but im picking up the pieces. Writing is cathartic for me. Unfortunately, between my girlfriend, my job, and my education, I dont get a lot of time to write. I got a review and or private message today the asked me to update this fic, I had honestly forgotten about this fic in its entirety. But here I am, after looking and seeing that 154 people were waiting on what i write next i figures that this isnt just about me anymore, this is also about all you readers. So this is for you guys and gals, Ill be updating more frequently from now on. I have changed a lot since i last wrote Fics, so hopefully you like my writing style now, and keep reading. Love you people. Enjoy.

Chapter Four of New Beginnings

Previously

"Holy Shit, I killed him" said a redheaded woman standing above the body of Naruto. She had just gotten done checking for a pulse, and finding none, turned to walk away. When her back was turned, the most brilliant light erupted out of the eyes of Naruto's corpse. What followed next would go down in the history books as the most significant meeting since Harashima Senju met Madara Uchiha to discuss the building of a ninja village.

Terumi Mei looked into the captivating eyes of the blonde shinobi that her men had dragged out of the drink. He radiated power like she had never witnessed before. His eyes glowed bright as he stared into what seemed like the depths of her soul before the glowing stopped and she was left breathless at the form his eyes had taken, grey and purple, with concentric rings circling an ebony pupil. His gaze traveled from her to the remaining conscious members of her men, Ao and Chōjūrō included, and as he looked away she let out a breath that she had not been aware that she was holding. Hey turned his gaze back on her and words flowed from his mouth with power that belied his young form.

"My name is Uzumaki Naruto, and I won't go down without a fight!" He stepped towards Mei and in an instant crossed the deck of the ship and slashed his katana towards the redhead's neck. Halfway through his swing his eyes rolled up in the back of his head and he collapsed into her eyes. Mei caught his limp form and looked to one of her ANBU.

"Take him to my quarters and get our Iryo-nin to look after him, if what he says about his name is true, then he could be more important to us then we first believed." The ANBU bowed deep and took Naruto's limp form gingerly and took him inside. Mei turned to Ao and Chōjūrō. "If he really is an Uzumaki…" She trailed off at the end.

Ao stepped closer to his leader. "If he really is of that clan, then we need to treat him and hopefully bring him to our side in the rebellion. Not only would he be a strong fighter as we have already witnessed, but if he really is Uzumaki, then he is family." He smiled and placed a hand on Mie's shoulder, "I'll go and make sure that our Iryo-nin takes good care of him." As he turned to leave he paused as he heard Mei speak.

"Just in case he is hostile or a spy, take the necessary precautions." Ao nodded and continued walking, gesturing for Chōjūrō to follow him. The younger shinobi looked between his senpai and his leader confused for a few seconds before he followed Ao inside the ship.

Mei dismissed the remaining ANBU on deck and stood staring out at the ocean as it raced by. She sighed and prayed to all the kami she knew that the young man in her care turned out to be family. The lone ship full of shinobi was joined by many more ships that joined formation with her ship at the center. She straightened up and nodded in recognition of the ship that pulled next to hers. She jumped the railing and boarded the other ship. She had a rebellion to plan.

Naruto looked up at the inky blackness that sufficed as a roof for his mindscape. "This shit is getting real old, real quick." He sat up and looked towards the cage that kept the Kyuubi at bay. He walked up to the cage and knocked on the bars when he couldn't see the beast through the shadows in his mind. Like something out of a nightmare the Kyuubi in full form practically glided out of the shadows and pressed its muzzle to the bars separating it from its next meal.

"You're back." The utterance came out with no infection what so ever. She stared at him and then ROARED! The sound made his clothes flap as if he was in hurricane forced wind, but he faced the demon and refused to back down. After she was done she shrunk down and sat in seiza position opposite him. He gave her a quizzical look. "You aren't scared of my full demon form, but you seem to be a little off put by my human form." She shrugged and gave him a feral grin. "Do I sense some raging hormones? Maybe a little sexual tension?" She giggled in the way that sent chills down his spine, a sound like that should never come from the monster in front of him.

He sat down and stared at her, dozens of questions floating behind his eyes. Most of them he already had the answers too, he just wanted to hear confirmation of them from someone, anyone, else. Only one begged to be answered. "What is your name?"

The demon in front of him was stupefied. So many questions he could have asked, from his parents, to why she attacked his village, to questions about his bloodline, and yet he asks for her name… The thought of being treated with such courtesy was foreign to the Bijuu. She smiled, a real smile, not her feral grin, but a nice and gentle smile and said, "Not today young one. Maybe someday soon, but you are not quite worthy enough to know my name."

He smiled at her and put his hand through the bars in an offer to shake hands. She stared at it as though it was a snake ready to pierce her skin and kill her slowly, and in a way it was. Kindness would be her undoing, it would be the death of everything that she as a being of malevolence and violence stood for. Yet, as she looked at that hand she looked back into her memories and remembered another man offer her his hand in a gesture of friendship. 'Not since the Rikkudo Sennin has someone tried to understand any of the Bijuu… Maybe, just maybe he deserves a chance.' She reached up and took his hand.
