Chapter 4
Bella's POV
"Erik is in one of the most heavely gaurded places on Earth." Hank said with a shake of his head. "The pentagon."
"Wait he's in the pentagon?" I asked. Hank and Charles nodded. "What'd he do?" I asked with an raised eyebrow. Charles looked at me and chuckled, while Hank pulled out a scamatic.
"JFK." Charles muttered with a smirk.
"He killed-" Logan began, Charles laughed taking a sip from his glass of water.
"How else would you explain a bullet curving in the air?" Charles asked with a pained smile. "Erik always had a way with guns."
"The building their holding him in was made durning World War 2 when there was a shortage of metal, so it made completely out of concrete. No metal what so ever."
"Maybe I could get us in." I said looking at Logan. Logan looked at me for a moment then shook his head.
"We need to be quiet about this, your mutation isn't going to get us in quietly it will only lead to them chasing us." I nodded in agreement.
"I thought you said you were just a sheild." Charles said frowning. I grinned.
"Who said that, you asked if I was a sheild I said yes, didn't mean my mutation wasn't something else." I said with a grin.
"What is your other mutation?" Hank asked. I shook my head.
"All in due time. So if were not using my mutation how are we getting in?" I asked.
"I knew a guy, yeah he'd be a young man now, he could get into anywhere." Logan said with a nervous chuckle.
"Is Cerbro out of the question?" Hank asked Charles. Charles looked at him with an expression that said it all 'what the fuck do you think'. Hank looked over at Logan. "We have a phone book." I giggled as Logan rolled his eyes sitting down heavily in one of the two chairs. As they tried to find the adress, I watched as Charles called in a rental car. I looked aound the room remebering all the times I had been in conference with the Professor trying to find out the trigger for my mutations. I sat down on the couch next to Charles who was still on the phone. He looked over at me for a moment sizing me up for what felt like the third time today before returning to his phone call. I don't know how but I ended up falling asleep, unknowingly I had ended up leaning against Charles.
CHARLES' POV
She had sitten down next to me without thought. Talk about akward, for me anyway, she acted as if nothing was wrong. I hadn't had any close contact with anyone - well besides Hank anyway - in a year or so, so I didn't know what to do. I just went back to my phone call like nothing happened. When the phone call was done, I noticed that she had fallen asleep and was leaning against my shoulder. I thought breifly about moving her but I knew there was a posiblity she would wake up and I knew from the bags under her eyes she had barely gotten in sleep in a while. I leaned back into the sofa my eyes closing hoping get rid of the worries that came with this new mission. Before I knew it I had fallen asleep also. Unknowingly I had wrapped my arm around her shoulder pulling the petite woman closer to me.
LOGAN'S POV
When we found the adress I looked around the room to find Bella when my eyes landed on her. She was asleep her head on Charles' chest. Charles was also asleep his arm wrapped around Bella's shoulder holding her to him, and his head leaned against the back of the couch. I frowned, then it dawned on me. Magneto didn't really care about me losing my temper, though he knew she would help with that, he was more worried about her getting to Charles. He knew they were supposed to be together. Then I remembered. Before the Sentenals came Magneto had recruited a kid named Sarah who could see who was ment to be with who. We had always thought she had another mutation that we didn't know about, but now I knew that wasn't true. He had kept her around because she had told him who was going to end up with Charles. That was why he would stare at Bella, and know that I think about when he wasn't staring at Bella he was staring at Charles. I chuckled. Hank, who had been writing down the adress, turned to me. His eyes landed on the two sleeping people and his eyes widened. He turned to me and I shrugged.
"Aren't you jealous?" He asked.
"Seriously, I'm not her boyfriend, hell she's like my daughter what the hell is when will you guys get it through your thick skulls." He stared at me a moment his cheeks turning pink. I chuckled and turned back to the couple. I knew they both needed their sleep, but we needed to get going. I walked up to the couch, noteing that Bella uncouniously suggled closer into Charles arms, as his embrace tightened around her as I moved closer. I shook their shoulders and their eyes shot open, looking at each other in suprise. Bella blushed, and Charles was just staring at Bella, his cheeks slightly pink.
Suddenly a honk sounded from the driveway and the two jumped apart, their breaths coming out in short pants, both frightened out of their mind. I chuckled and put my fist on my hips.
"Come on love birds, Charles has to change and the retake is outside." I said walking out of the study. Charles ran past me and upstairs to his room to change. Bella was following me and I didn't even have to turn around to know she was still blushing. Two cars stood outside one that would be ours the other to take the guy driving back to wherever the hell they came from. The guy threw me the keys and then proceeded to get the hell out of Dodge. Suddenly Charles passed by me and snatched the keys from my hand. Bella laughed as he got into the drivers side. I looked down at her and growled. She looked over at me her expression innocent. I snorted and rolled my eyes. Hank knowing what was good for him got in the back, as I slid in the front glaring at Charles. Bella, sat in the back next to Hank and behind Charles.
BELLA'S POV
"You just ran a damn stop light!" Logan yelled. I pressed my lips together to keep from laughing. I was used to reckless driving. More than a few times I was in the car when a chase was going on and he had to join with me in the car. Suddenly Logan started climbing up the seat trying to push his imaginary brake. Hank and I were desperatly trying not to laugh, Hank must be used to Charles driving.
"SLOW THE FUCK DOWN!" Logan yelled, making Hank start chocking. I silently giggled hitting him on the back. When he had caught his breath he looked over at me pushing up his glasses. The amusment in his eyes clear as day.
"How are you not freaking out?" He asked so quietly so they wouldn't hear us.
"My dad was a cop and he got in a few chases while I was in the car." I said with a small shrug.
"YOU CRAZY ASS MOTHER FUCKER YOU'RE GOING GET US FUCKING KILL!" I shook my head willing myself not to start laughing like a manic.
"SHUT UP YOU FUCKING PUSSY!" Charles yelled back at Logan who was still stomping at the floor. That tipped the scale for Hank and I, we both started laughing like crazy.
"Here it is, here! Stop the car." Logan yelled.
"Okay, okay." Charles said calmy as he slammed on the brakes.
"Don't get used to driving I'm driving next time." Logan said getting out of the car and slamming the door. I giggled as Charles followed suit. I got out of the car still giggling and clutching my stomach. We followed Logan to the door and when he hesitated to knock, I pushed him aside and knocked for him as he sputtered suprised. A woman with a cautious expression awnsered the door.
"What'd he take, I'll just write a check for whatever it is." She said and I raised an eyebrow, yup we're in the right place.
"No we just want to talk to him." I said with a smile. She nodded a grimace clear as day. She let us in and closed the door.
"Peter the cops are here, again." She yelled, grimance still in place. "He's in the basement." I nodded and started down the steps to the basement. Racked around the walls of the basement was a bunch of stolen electronics and candy. Suddenly a guy in all silver was on the couch that used to be empty. My eyes widened. He looked at me and grinned looking me up and down.
"What do you want?" He asked suddenly at the pingpong table playing against himself. Then he was on the couch a half eaten popsicle. I just stared. "I've been here all day."
"Were not cops." I told him.
"Of course you're not cops, otherwise you wouldn't be driving a rental." He said his words coming out in a hurry as he licked the orange popsicle off his lips.
"How did you know we were-" Charles began, being cut off before he could finish the question.
"I also had time to spare so I went through your rental agreement and saw you were out of town." Suddenly he was across the room in front of Charles with his back to him. "Hey what's this Gifted Youngesters place?" He had Charles' wallet and Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters card in his hand.
"That's an old-" The the wallet and wallet and card were left on the table as Peter was across the room playing some arcade game. "-card." Charles finished picking up his wallet and card and shoving them both in his back pocket.
"Wow he is fascinating." Hank said looking at Peter in awe.
"He's a pain in the ass." Charles said pushing his sunglasses back up his face. I giggled.
"So what do you want?" Peter asked still playing the game, though I couldn't keep up.
"We need your help breaking into a secure place." Logan said speaking for the first time since we got here.
"What's in it for me?" He asked still playing his game. Before Logan could awnser Charles awnsered.
"You, you kleptomaniac, get to break into the Petagon." I smiled amused. Peter turned to us an intrested look on his face. He looked at us through narrowed eyes.
"How can I trust you?" He asked.
"Well we're just like you." Logan said with a half smile, and hands on his hips.
"Show him." Charles and I spoke in unison. We looked at each other and narrowed our eyes before looking over at Logan who's claws were recending from his fists. I cringed though, when I noticed they were bone claws instead of metal.
"That's gross, but cool, man." Peter said his nose scrunched. I nodded, my nose scrunched.
"I agree put the damn things away!" I said with a shake of my head. Logan chuckled and his claws went back into his hands.
