A/N: Hey everybody. It's Sky, everyone's favorite inverted Pegasus here with the next chapter to the best story you've ever read! Or at least, I think so.
Skye) Don't get so full of yourself, man.
Blue) well you never know, Skye. It just might be.
Skye) not with all the reviews he gets.
Oh hush up you two. Anyways, let me respond to all my adoring fans. (Well, maybe not adoring, but you know what I mean.)
Sonofdeath: okay dude. Maaaaaajor shout out to you. You were the first to give me an OC to use, and that gives you big brownie points in my book. Also, don't spoil the surprise! I'll show you what Mark can do. Just gotta wait a little.
Alrighty then folks! Let's-
Blue) *cough* uuuuh...
Oh that's right! Before I forget. This is my new OC, Blue Typhoon. She controls water and stuff. She's really cool.
Blue) I know. I'm awesome. Now let's get this show on the road.
As you wish. This is chapter four guys. Hope you enjoy!
I looked down at my hands in awe. Or should I say hooves. I couldn't believe my eyes. I was short. I was on 4 legs. I was cute. I was a freaking pony. I looked down at my body, trying to see what I looked like. Essentially, I was a stallion with a light blue coat, kind of like how the sky looked. My mane was silver with blue highlights, (Don't ask me how it got like that) and my hooves were a dark grey. I got up and tried to walk, yet instantly failed and fell down hard on my rear end.
Very funny, Chronas said, sounding like she was holding back a severe case of the giggles.
"Yeah, just laugh it up why don't you?" I said, flinching at my own voice. It sounded deeper, with way more base than I was used to.
"Just great," I said, trying to stand up once again. It took me numerous times, but finally, Finally, I was able to stand. As soon as I did, though, all my muscles tensed up and I felt something spring out of my back. I saw a fluttering feather fall on the tip of my muzzle and looked backwards, already fearing the worst. "Oh dear god, don't tell me….."
You're a pegasus…... She said, her voice soft with wonder. I turned to look at my wings. They were feathery, (no duh, mark) and about the same color as my coat. I tried flexing them, not expecting to have any results. To my surprise, they stiffened and stood to attention. I felt a little tug at my more sensual side, but I didn't pay attention to it at the moment. I gave them an experimental flap and found myself five feet off the ground!
"Holy shit-on-a-stick!" I screamed. I hovered like that for about 30 seconds before I forgot to flap and crash landed onto the ground. My hooves were splayed out in spread-eagle fashion. I looked sullenly at my hooves, sad thoughts of never being able to fly in my brain, when I saw something that made me gasp in shock.
What is it? Chronas asked, a little squeak in her voice.
"The marks," I said, staring at my arms transfixed.
What marks? She asked.
"Remember those sun and moon tattoo marks I had on my arms back when I was a human?"
Oh yeah….. Wait, you mean those are still there? Even after you got a new body?
"Yeah. Look." I held up my arms, yet realized that she was in my head and couldn't really see anything. "Whoops. I forgot you were in my head."
It's quite alright. I can still see you, remember. She made the conversation we had in my bathroom come up in my head. Anyways, I would like to try something. It may render you unconscious for a few minutes. Will you let me try?
At that moment, I was kind of in a trance-like state, trying to walk. "Yeah, yeah. Just give me a minute to learn how to walk." I started moving my front legs up and down, one after the other, kind of like walking, to get my muscles used to doing it. Then I proceeded onto my back legs. Once I felt that it was enough, I tried taking my first few steps and promptly landed on my face. A few more tries brought me success in the form of being able to walk over to the nearest tree without stopping.
"Alright! Got it down. Now, what did you want to do, Chronas?" I asked, smiling like an idiot.
This, she said. I felt myself black out for a minute before I woke up. I found that I was a human again. Before I could celebrate and brush off the whole thing as a bad dream, Chronas walked through my door in some jeans and a silk tee.
"Where am I?" I asked her, then flinched as my voice echoed over and throughout the room.
"We are in your Dreamscape, Mark. This place will always represent where you want to be, deep in your heart, no matter where it may be." She said, taking a step towards the middle of t room. "Take a look at your T.V."
I looked over at it, confused for a minute. On the screen was a view of two light blue hooves. It took me a second, but I realized that they were my hooves. "What exactly…. am I looking at here?" I asked her, giving the screen a weird look.
"This is the view of the world through your own eyes," She said. "Everything you can see is displayed here."
"Wait, so this is what my pony body is seeing now?"
"Yes, and right now I am in control for the moment, though it takes an incredible amount of my magic to do so. Watch," She made my arms move, and I found that we were walking away from the area.
I stared in amazement. "So your making me move?"
"Yes, Mark."
I face palmed in agitation. "*sigh* Give me back control, Chronas."
"But Mark….."
"Please," I said, my voice a little colder than usual. This time, I didn't hear any complaints. I blacked out again, and when I woke up I was staring at my own hooves instead of my hands. 'Huh.' I thought. 'Never thought I'd ever say that."
I looked around and saw that I was standing in a forest clearing. Large trees were sticking out towards the sky, which was slowly starting to turn a beautiful shade of crimson. "We better find a way to get outta here before it turns dark," I said, dodging a branch that was about to hit me in the face.
Yes. Chronas said into my mind. I found that I was slowly getting used to the idea of her speaking through my brain. Something tells me that this place is far less hospitable during the night.
I walked through the woods. I didn't know where I was going; I was just walking. As the sun wound its way down, I noticed a glow in front of me. I looked down to find its source, only to gasp, once more, in amazement. My coat had turned the same color of the sky, which almost all the way dark. Seeing the sky like that, something inside me clicked, and I heard a voice, incredibly soft and smoother than velvet, whisper a word into my head.
"Lumos," I said, and the moon shaped tattoo shined brighter than it was. Suddenly, a ball of light formed itself in front of me, giving me at least a 7-meter diameter of light. I turned my head, and it followed. I started walking, now able to see with much better clarity.
How did you do that? Chronas asked, her voice a little strained.
"I don't know," I said, watching as the little stars on my moon mark moved bit by bit, just like the stars up ahead as we passed them. "It felt right to say them, so I did. Guess I'll have to remember that one, huh?"
I walked on, listening to all the sounds of the forest. There must have been thousands of critters in there, and they were sure making a ruckus. Crickets were chirping, something was flying up ahead, and I could just barely hear the faint growling of a timber wolf. You know what would be funny, Chronas, I thought.
What?
If they had timber wolves here actually made of wood.
Yes, I suppose that would be pretty funny, she said, giving off a small giggle. Suddenly, I heard an earsplitting scream. I turned toward it and ran, not really knowing why. Maybe this new body came with new instincts? Either way, I wasn't stopping till I got to the source of that noise. I ran for about 5 minutes, getting barraged by sticks, roots, branches, and mosquitos. I finally made it out of the brush and into a small clearing.
A butter yellow pegasus with soft pink hair was backed up into a corner, her wings extended in fright. When I saw what was scaring her, though, I face-hoofed and sighed. Me and my big mouth…
They were timber wolves. Actual timber wolves. Like, they were wolves made out of wood. How the fuck does that work out, I thought.
I have no idea, Chronas said, just as confused as me.
The wolves were just staring at her, but the pegasus saw me and just stared. Her eyes were wide, and her whole body seemed to scream, "HELP ME!" She accidently slipped on a rock, and that got the wolves out of their stupor. They started to close in on her.
I didn't know what caused me to do it. Maybe it was the voice in my head. Maybe it was the innocence in her eyes. Maybe it was the fact that she looked like a mare who wouldn't hurt a fly. Maybe I was just plain stupid. All I know is that I stomped my hoof without a second thought and yelled, "Leave her be!"
The wolves turned towards me and growled. Whelp, Mark, you've got their attention. What's next? I thought as I took a step back from the advancing wolves.
It seems as if you have way more muscle mass then you did as a human, Chronas said.
No duh, I'm a horse. I thought.
Either way, you should be able to hit a lot harder than normal. Your speed has increased exponentially, and your hooves are super strong. This outta be good, she said. Her voice and speech were a little fast-paced, like she couldn't wait for this to happen.
"Let's see if that's true," I muttered under my breath as one of the wolves looked up. Its neon green eyes stared at me, void of any emotion, before he gave a short bark. Out of nowhere, they all jumped up and pounced me.
Instinct. That's the word that comes to mind now that I think about it. I turned on my hooves and kicked backwards. The word venti flashed through my mind, but this time I didn't speak it. I thought it. I heard a whoosh of air, and the timber wolves gave out whines of alarm. I spun around to see what happened and stared incredulously. There, on the ground, were the timber wolves, flat out on their backs. The pegasus looked at me, a little frightened, yet her eyes were wide with amazement and she kept muttering the word magic over and over. She zipped to my side just as the wolves got back up.
"Help," She whispered, her voice quaking.
The wolves were looking at me, yet this time their eyes were bright red. I could tell they were serious this time around.
Guess that means they're angry, huh? I thought to Chronas.
Well, we're about to find out, she said. They look like they are ready to pounce.
"Hmm," I said. Earlier on, I said lumos, which means light in a language long thought to be dead, the archaic language of the elder mages, and made a ball of light, I thought. If magic exists here, and works like that, then maybe others will too. Let's try it out. These wolves are made of wood. Fire burns wood. What was the archaic name for fire again…..?
As I was searching my mind, trying to find the right word, the wolves were slowly starting to circle us. There were only 3 left. The others had ran. One of them jumped, much to my surprise. I thought, Lumos, and a ball of light popped up, blinding the wolf and allowing me to connect with its jaw. It crumbled into dust, leaving behind the scent of cinnamon.
The other wolves jumped back in surprise, their red eyes changing to blue, signifying fear I guess. Before they could move, though, I thought the word Ibly, which is Archaic for fire, and sent the last two to a fiery death.
The mare was still clinging to my arm. I looked down and saw that she was shivering lightly and her eyes were wide in astonishment and fear. Hell, I would be too if I just saw someone burn something with magic. I mean magic, of all things. This world….. it is something else.
One day and you've already got girls clinging to your arms, huh Mark? Chronas said, laughing lightly as I looked up at the sky. It was starting to turn day, and a warm, orange glow could be seen over the mountain a few hundred meters away. The sky was still dark, but my moon mark was starting to fade in its glow, while the sun seemed as if it were getting a little brighter.
Oh hush you, I thought. "Are you okay?" I asked when the mare finally, FINALLY, let go of my arm.
"Oh, I'll be just fine, thank you," she said quietly. "Just a little scared," I noticed that she wouldn't look me directly in the eyes.
"Well, what's your name? And what are you doing out here?"
She looked down at her hooves. "My name is flu-rsh-…." Her voice got softer and softer, until I couldn't hear her anymore.
"Huh," I asked, leaning in to listen better.
"My name is Fluttershy," she said, raising her voice a little. "What's your name?
I was about to tell her my name, but something held me back. That voice that had been helping me along the way had been whispering a name into my ear for a few minutes now. I didn't know if it wanted me to go by that alias, but it sounded pretty cool, so I decided to take a chance.
"My name is Sky. Sky Loch."
"That's a nice name," She said, smiling a little bit. Then she took a real good look at me and gasped. "Your coat! Its changing color!" I looked down and saw that my coat was slowly changing its color to match with that of the sky's. Right now, the sky was orange, so that's the color my coat was.
"Huh. That's new. And pretty cool." My sun mark was shining a little brighter than before, but that didn't stick out as much as my coat.
"Yeah, it is pretty cool," She said slowly, smiling out the corner of her hair. Dawwwww, that's too cute, I thought.
"Well, what are you doing out her in a forest? At night?" I asked. Then I thought about it. "Please don't tell me that you live out here."
"No!" She said, a little too forcefully. She instantly went right back into her mane, looking down at her hooves. "I live on the edge of the forest in a cottage with my little animal friends."
"Well then, what are you doing out here in a dangerous forest like this?" I asked, looking at her.
"Well," She came out of her mane and looked me dead in the eyes, as if I was her last link to the world. "One of my chickens got out of its coop and ran right into the forest. I chased it in, and got all the way to there," She said. She pointed to a large birch tree with a dark spot underneath.
That must be blood, I thought, walking over and sniffing. The air around the tree still smelled metallic.
"I didn't make it in time," She said, sniffling. "The wolves were eating her by the time I got here. Then one of them turned and saw me. He barked to the others, and they started to circle me. That's when you came around," She came up and stood next to me, sighing and rubbing her eyes. "If it hadn't been for you, I wouldn't even be alive right now."
"Oh, its alright," No its not. Oh come on! I said into my head. I thought we were done with that.
Well, it gives me something to do. It does get boring up here, Chronas said.
I sighed. Sometimes it's difficult living with an all powerful goddess in your head.
Fluttershy looked at me, concern evident on her face. "Whats wrong?"
"Nothing," I start walking in the direction she pointed to when she described where her cottage was. "Anyways, c'mon."
"Where are we going," She asked, walking next to me.
"I'm taking you home," I said. I don't know where it came from, but I had the sudden urge to make sure she got home safe. I guess she just looked so innocent, so pure, that I didn't want anything to happen to her.
"Oh no, that's alright!" She said, trying to stop me. Her efforts where pointless, though. Even though she was probably more used to being a talking horse than I was, but she was still kinda weak. Just like me back in my world, I thought. "You dont have to if you dont want to."
"Oh, but I want to. I just want to make sure your safe," I said.
"Okay...AAAAAAAAAAAhhhhh!" She screamed, just as a timber wolf jumped out of the bushes she was walking next to. I was readying the word for fire when I noticed something. Its eyes. They weren't red or green or yello or blue. THey wer regular eyes, like mine and Fluttershy's. Then the unspeakable happened.
"Hello, Pony," It said, its voice a deep baritone. Its face was pointed towards me, so I presumed it was talking to me.
"Hello," I said, trying to keep my composure. I could tell from the way Fluttershy's mouth was gaping that talking wolves were not the norm here in the land of talking ponies.
"Were you the one that eradicated pack 274 who were hunting Kindness?" It asked. Its' face was neutral, and you couldn't tell if he was angry or said.
"I did destroy some wolves that were chasing my friend," I said. I saw Fluttershy's eyes light up when I said the word friend. "But who is this kindness that you speak of?" I looked around to see if there was someone behind me.
"My aplogies. I meant the yellow one. I forgot that she does not know of her heritage. Do not ask me about it either! There are some things that are better left for the wolves to know." It stated.
oooooookay... "Yes, I did in fact destroy the wolf pack 2..7..whatever. What of it?" I asked. I hoped that the false bravado i was showing would show the wolf that I wasn't playing around. Which was a total lie.
The wolf looked at me for a few more minutes before it burst out into a good-natured grin. "Then on behalf of the Legion of the Wolves, we thank you. That pack was a rogue band of wolves that did whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted. They put a bad name to our reputation."
I was getting ready for a fight when I heard that. "So your not about to eat us?" I asked, starting to calm down.
"No!" It said, a little too loud. The rays of the morning sun were bright up ahead, yet only the smallest of dots fell to the ground. One fell over the wolf, and it stretched a little. "I don't think I could ever really eat another living creature."
"Oh," Fluttershy said. I could tell that she wanted to say something else, but I gave her a look that said, We'll talk about it later, that kept her from asking them.
He kind of stood there awkwardly, pushing his paw through the dirt. "Is there something else that you need?" I asked, leaning down and looking at it.
"Oh yeah!" It said. "I was wondering if I could maybe probably, c.. w.i. y..." He steadily got lower and lower, kind of like Fluttershy when i first met her.
"What was that?" I asked as nicely as I could. I didn't want to scare the poor beast away, and I didn't actually trust it yet.
"I was wondering if I could come with you," the wolf said, its head bent. "I've been in training ever since my parents died. I hated fighting back then, but my mom told me to fight for my life, cause any weakness shown in the pack gets you killed. I had to fight my way to the top, and the night before they were going to make me praetor of the pack, Pack 275, Mother Lupa came to me. She is the Magna Mater of The Legion of the Wolves. She sent me on this last mission to find you, Pony," It looked at me again. "She said that Pack 274 would be defeated by a pony and that my life would be intertwined with that ponies. So here I am."
I thought about it. It would be good to have another fighter going through this forest, and I could tell fluttershy really wanted to talk to it. It didnt seem like it .wanted to kill us. If anything, he seemed exactly like Fluttershy. Plus, said pony was staring at me, almost daring me to say no.
"Alright then. Your on board," I said. The wolf looked up, a smile on its-I mean, his- face. "One more thing though,"
"Yes, master," He said.
"Okay, one, dont call me master. And two, what is your name?"
"Oh, its _," He uttered a series of barks and whines, "_, but that's just my legion name. My name that my mother gave me is Eric."
Yeah, a wolf named Eric. Thats not unusual, Chronas said.
We walked out until we were just at the edge of the forest when out of nowhere, I felt a huge wave of pain fly through my head. "ARGH!" I fell from the hard, thick turf and bush of the forest into soft grass. I put my hooves on my temples, hoping to push away the pain, but nothing could stop it.
"Sky, whats wrong?!" Fluttershy yelled, kneeling down next to me.
"Master! What's wrong?!" Eric asked.
"I DON'T KNOW!" I scream before I finally black out.
I storm into my Dreamscape, more pissed then my mom on that fate-full day. "What the Hell was that?" I yelled, fully intent on tearing into Chronas. I mean, I thought she had took control of me. Again. She jumped when she heard me, but when I saw her face, though, I blanched.
She looked like she had gone through a train wreck. Her face was red, her eyes were red and wide, and her clothes were wrinkled. Her hair was frizzied, and when she spoke, it wasn't the same voice filled with confidence and wisdom that I knew. It was scared.
"She's back," She said.
"Who?" I asked, my voice lowering substantially. All my anger dispersed when I saw the state she was in.
"The Nightmare," She said. She sat back down and started rocking lightly. I couldn't get anything else out of her, so i did the only thing I could think of to do. I sat down and held her until I regained consciousness.
A/N: Hey everyone! Hows it been? I hope everyone is having a very merry Christmas. This chapter was a little easier to get out than the others. Partially because I write everything out. But enough of how I make these awesome chapters. Lets get on with my ramblings.
First off, Thank you FallVegas. Your OC was fantabulous in this chapter, and Im sure he'll go very far in this series.
Also a big thank you to WhatmustIdo for allowing me to use his world of Equestria to make two of my fanfics. The other, Dimensional Heritage, will only use it momentarily, but this story will be based around it.
By the way, for anyone whose interested, I just saw the movie Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters. Let me just say that that was a pretty bad end part of the movie. They went so far off track that I stopped watching and just started posting.
I hope you guys at least enjoyed this chapter. Have a nice day.
Dreams give us a better perception of reality. the better we are at enterpreting dreams, the better we get at conquering life.- From the desk of Sky, The Inverted Pony.
P.S. Don't think I forgot about you, Whovian803. Chronas looks like that in real life, so I guess you could say that he has already seen her, but fret not. The best is yet to come.
