Chapter IV
Princess Isabella Swan:
James continued walking towards me. I tried to pull on the rope but my wrists were too sore. He sat on the side of the bed. Tears began to escape and absorb into the mattress as his rough hand touched my cheek. His fingers trailed down to my neck. A whimper left my lips and I heard him chuckle. I opened my eyes and I saw James's face so close to mine. I felt his breath on my neck, at that time I was about to beg to him, but James pulled back and then untied my wrists. I wasn't untied anymore I looked at him confused, but kept my distance from him.
"You're not my type, princess," he smirked and then walked out of the room.
After James left, I felt a sudden relief, although the rope left a bruise on both my wrists.
Sir Edward Cullen:
I passed an elderly man on the road and told him I was looking for a job close by. The old man noticed the weapons I carried with me, "There's a tavern just down the road, a man name James of the Nomads is looking for men who can fight," said the old man.
I walked about a mile till I reached the tavern. I tied my horse with the other horses, as I was doing this, I notice about a dozen of women were half dressed standing out front flirting and making out with drunk men. I made my way past them and went inside. The place was packed with outlaws, I knew I would be able to get answers about the Princess.
I made my way over to the bar and sat in front of the bartender working over the counter, "Good evening sir, what would you like to have?"
"Actually, you could help me be telling me where I could find a man called James of the Nomads."
The bartender looked around us to see if anyone was over hearing our conversationg, he leaned forward so he can whisper, "What business do you have with him."
"I hear he's recuting men to fight,"
The bartender thought for a second and then sighed, "He's upstairs in the back."
"Thank you," I made my way through the noisy crowd to get up stairs. I saw a small group of drunk men were in the back, each had a woman or two with them. I had to ask one of the men which one was James, he pointed to the man who had a long ponytail. James had two women with him, one of them wrapped her legs around his waist with her dress unbuttoned in the front with her breasts exposed to him, and the other girl was massaging his shoulders. "Excuse me," I cleared my throat to get his attention.
"I'm quite busy right now," He didn't take his eyes off the woman's chest in front of him.
"I'm here about the job offering,"
Jame glanced at me and then back at the woman, "You are?"
I nodded.
"What makes you think you're good enough?" He asked.
"I believe I'm perfect for the job."
"Oh being confident," He waved to the woman in front of him away, but the other one stayed, "Well you look phsically built, tell me what weapons can you use?"
"I can master with a sword and a bow."
"Really? What's your name?"
I can't give him my real name, I need to make one up quick, "It's Jack Mason."
"Jack, well where do you come from? Jack,"
"I really didn't come from anywhere, my whole life I've been moving around, so I know the lands very well."
"I touchy life," He began thinking for a while and then got up from his chair, "Well come with me outside Jack, let's see how good you really are."
Princess Isabella Swan:
I was able to sleep for a few hours, but the loud noise outside of my room was keeping me awake. A man came in and dropped a plate of bread and a glass of water on the table and then left. I ate and drank slowly, after I was done, I began looking around to see if there was any kind of escape. Perhaps a window I could fit through or a drap door leading to an underground passage way. The two doors on each side of the room were locked and the only window had bars on them.
I was trapped, but I still didn't give up. I continued pushing stuff around to find anything. As I was pushing empty boxes away from the wall I noticed a small window low to the ground. It didn't have any bars on it, and I believe I could make it through.
Sir Edward Cullen (Jack Mason):
James and two of his men led me outside, he told me to grab my bow and arrows that were attached to my horse. "Alright Jack, let's see how good you are in the dark." He looked over at one of his men, "Get going Johnson."
"M-Me sir?"
"Yes, now get over there," James pointed to a tree about twenty feet away. Johnson trembled, but did what he was told, he stood still in front of the tree, with his back touching it. "I want you to shoot an arrow just an inch above Johnson's head."
I nodded and then got into position, as I pulled the string and the back of the arrow back I aimed at the tree. I remembered the first year I came to La Push, I offered my services to be a warrior to the royal family. For the first three years I been learning how to aim and how to use a bow. I was at the top of my class and that's how Jacob and I became friends. Even though he couldn't fight because he was the crown prince, it didn't stop him to learn how to fight.
After I was in range, I took a deep breath and then released the arrow. It flew swiftly into the air and hit the spot in the tree perfectly. I noticed Johnson was still shaking underneath the tree.
"Frank, go check if he made it," James told the man who was standing next to him, he ran to the tree and checked it and then gave a thumbs up. "Well Jack not bad, but how good are you with a sword?"
Princess Isabella Swan:
I began pulling the loose stones out of the way to make the window hole bigger. After moving most of the stones out of the way, I began to squeeze through. I did my best not to panic. I sucessfully made it out without any struggle. When I got all the way out, I took a few deep breaths to calm down, and then I began to crawl away. The huge guy who was guarding the door was just around the corner, so I went straight into the woods.
As I rushed through the forest quietly, I heard sword fighting going on close by. I walked a little further, and I instintly noticed James and two of his men, but I didn't know the other man. He was fighting two of the men very gracefully with a sword in one hand and a blade in the other. But I couldn't be distracted right now I need to get as far away from here.
Sir Edward Cullen (Jack Mason):
Johnson and Frank came at me from both sides. I quickly manuvered around them and knocked them down. I wasn't allowed to cut them but I had to win. When Johnson's sword and mine hit, I knocked him down by kicking him in the stomach, he was down for the count. And then I went after Frank, he was much faster, but not quick enough. He flinged his sword at me from across, but I quickly pulled back and then stabbed him with the back of my blade in the stomach and he fell to the ground.
It was too easy, after I was done, James began to clap his hands, "Impressive Jack, I guess you're up for the job."
"What about these other men, they can barely fight?" I asked.
"Don't worry about them, they're at the bottom of the food chain, come on, lets have a drink."
We joined the rest of the men up stairs of the tavern and all had a drink. I got to know more about the men and to know what I'm dealing with. "So James, what are we up to lately?"
"We're babysitting,"
"Who?"
"Oh I'm not sure if I should tell you yet, I'll let you think about it, you'll never guess who it is" James leaned back in his chair and began chatting with the other men.
I needed to make sure, these were the bandits who have the Princess and still have her in one piece. Suddenly there was a girl screaming down stairs, she continued to beg, "please let me go." A huge man was carrying a girl up the stairs and stood in front of James who was sitting next to me.
"She tried to escape, James," said the huge man.
"Did she? Bring her to me." The huge man tossed her to James and he grabbed both of her shoulders. She looked terrified, tears were streaming down her face and I still didn't know if this was the princess or just an ordinary girl. James shook her violently, "you know I was going easy on you, I could of had you right there and no one would have really cared. Now that you disrespect me I might reconsider of keeping you pure."
"Please just let me go," she begged him.
"Why would I do that, if I did then I wouldn't get any money from the king."
She is the princess.
"See Jack, this is the one who we're babysitting, meet the Princess of Forks." He grabbed a hold of the back of her neck and made her face me, I saw her terrified eyes look up at me. As I looked at her, I couldn't help but be speechless.
